Sabo sentenced! America's best street artist needs our support

Aurora, Colorado, has finally started cracking down on crime.

No, not the violent Venezuelan gangs taking over apartment complexes, terrorizing tenants, and beating property managers to a bloody pulp.

'My wife is a migrant. I must have paid over $10,000 to get her here legally. ... I ... don’t have a problem with immigration; I have a problem with unchecked illegal immigration.'

We're sure Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser will get to that eventually.

In the meantime, the intrepid lawman has cracked the case of his career: nabbing the maniac behind the street art protesting the town's mass immigration-induced mayhem.

That's right: After two decades of risking life, limb, and liberty to bring truly provocative and countercultural art to the public, Sabo has been busted.

As the Gateway Pundit's Patty McMurray reports, the formally trained former Marine was hauled before a judge last week for sentencing.

Unable to afford a lawyer and unwilling to trust one supplied by the state, the based Banksy represented himself — offering this stirring statement to judge deciding his fate:

My wife is a migrant. I must have paid over $10,000 to get her here legally. I paid for expensive biometric scans twice, a health screening, background check. Documents had to be signed stating that she would not be a burden to the taxpayers. She’s never spent a day worried about having a roof over her head or where our next meal was coming from, this because we did it the right way. I, like most, don’t have a problem with immigration; I have a problem with unchecked illegal immigration.

I’m a self-employed artist who’s educated at one of the top art colleges in the world. I know my country; I speak its language. I’m familiar with the marketplace of my chosen profession, and with all this, I can no longer afford to live in my own country. How do these migrants have any hope to to make it here, at least not without financially bankrupting our communities while at the same time overlooking America’s forgotten poor, including veterans who live out on the street?

These newcomers, some of whom are extremely violent, are always dumped in underrepresented communities, making an already bad situation worse. Last winter, tens of thousands of improperly vetted migrants, many illegally in the country, were dropped off in Denver in -12 degree weather. Many forced to brave the cold in tents. It was reported that some were forced to prostitute their wives, daughters, and girlfriends simply to keep from starving or freezing to death. Politicians from both sides of the political aisle should be ashamed of themselves for what they put the poorest from around the world through by conning them to come here — especially in the middle of winter.

I pray we still have a First Amendment to help protect political art, which is its intended purpose. Nothing was destroyed or permanently damaged, except maybe for the feelings of some local politicians for pointing out the mess they’ve made of things.

Now Sabo must pay a fine and perform community service — all while continuing to support himself and his work on a shoestring budget.

In an email to Align, Sabo emphasized that he's not the only one sticking his neck out to spread the truth.

"My main assistant is about to pull the plug on his mother, and I'd like to spend some time with him as well," he writes. "And I'm not rich, so this would help. That guy has [done more to help] us putting up art than anyone I know."

In other words, if you're already a Sabo fan, now would be a good time to express your support.

Go to his website and buy some original art — perhaps his new Vote Wisely poster. Or contribute to the GiveSendGo he's set up to help pay his legal fees.

And if you're not a Sabo fan yet, check out Align's coverage of his previous missions here.

Exclusive: Police catch street artist Sabo; court date looms

Breathe easy, citizens — the Aurora, Colorado, police have got their man.

No word on what's going on with the violent Venezuelan gang members who have taken over an entire apartment complex, but the lone artist who called attention to this crisis has been captured.

A little more than a week ago, residents of the small city outside Denver awoke to a frightening and confusing sight.

There, affixed to a pole, was a yellow "crossing" sign with the legend "Caution: Kamala's Illegals."

Above it, another sign: "Blacks must sit at the back of the bus / Kamala's migrants sit in the front."

Unsavoryagents.com

This was not an isolated occurrence. Far from it. Copies of the signs — as many as six, according to some reports — had been placed at various intervals over a few city blocks.

The craftsmanship was fiendishly skilled, designed to fool passersby into mistaking these placards for official municipal issue, at least for those first few innocent seconds before fully registering the horror: These were no street signs. These were hate signs.

The evidence pointed to one man: the enigmatic street artist Sabo. Authorities launched a massive manhunt.

Thursday, officers from both the Aurora and Denver police departments staged a daring daylight raid of Sabo's Aurora residence, knocking on the door and handing him a ticket for violating Denver municipal code 3-1, "posting on public/private property."

They declined to press any hate crime charges.

"I guess they have the resources to send both departments after me," Sabo told Align. "I have a court date," he added.

Those who feel moved by Sabo's plight no doubt wonder how they can help. Loot a Target? Set a garbage truck on fire? Cordon off the local playground and declare it an autonomous zone? All great ideas, but Sabo respectfully requests that you stand down and stand by.

However, donations are always appreciated. Or you could purchase one of Sabo's fine, affordable protest artworks.

Just be careful where you display it.

Sabo strikes! 'Kamala's Illegals' signs hit gang-ravaged town

The video is shocking.

An apartment complex in Aurora, Colorado, invaded by heavily armed men, reportedly members of violent Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua. Locals say the gang has taken over the complex.

Residents of the complex — those who haven't managed to flee — are living in fear, waiting for the next shoot-out.

Blame it on nearby "sanctuary city" Denver, which has welcomed the largest number of migrants per capita of any American city — more than 40,000 since December 2022.

Some, we assume, are good people. And some are affiliated with the same ruthless criminal organization as Jose Ibarra, the Tren de Aragua member accused of attacking and killing 22-year-old University of Georgia nursing student Laken Riley in February.

The Aurora video is just the latest dispatch from our ongoing immigration crisis. It will no doubt soon be forgotten in the relentless churn of our news cycle.

But dissident street artist Sabo decided to do what he could to keep our focus on what's happening in Aurora — and the larger crisis it represents — for at least a few moments more.

As he tells Align: "I put these up in Aurora, Colorado, last night. Nome St. is the street where the apartment complex [in the video] is. I was saying the Lord's Prayer while putting them up."

"Within hours, half of them were torn down," he adds.

But not before the local press noticed the "racist" and "anti-immigrant" signs.

Sabo, not surprisingly, disagrees with that characterization.

"'Racist' is [using] our tax dollars to put violent illegal aliens, not migrants, on our streets to terrorize the poorest people of color in our communities," he says.

Sabo's latest installation — which debuted earlier this month at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago — also captured the imagination of Denver Mayor Mike Johnston and Colorado Governor Jared Polis, both Democrats.

Sabo remains philosophical about these high-profile critics. Like any artist, he's just happy to get his work out there.

"This is a master class on how to turn six signs only a few people would have seen into a viral story that will reach thousands," he says. "Thank you, liberal press."

Below, we're proud to present some images of Sabo's latest exhibition.

Exclusive: Sabo strikes the RNC

A lot can happen in a month.

The last time Align heard from renegade street artist Sabo was in late June.

He had traveled to Los Angeles to plaster his provocative fake ads (a shower-capped Biden promoting Biden Bed Bath & Beyond and "ER" throwback Clooney hawking a cure for Trump Derangement Syndrome, among other hilarities) all over town.

The occasion? George Clooney's star-studded Biden fundraiser at downtown L.A.'s Peacock Theatre. That was the same gala at which Biden seemed to "freeze" onstage in front of Democratic bigwigs like Barack Obama and the stars who love them.

Of course, that synaptic snafu was just a preview of Biden's full-scale cognitive crash a few weeks later at the presidential debate. Now, Democrats are scrambling to salvage the election — with or without the incumbent.

Things were going well enough that Sabo thought he could take a well-deserved break. Until Trump responded to a would-be assassin's near miss with his instantly iconic raised fist and call to "Fight! Fight! Fight!"

As Sabo told Align Thursday afternoon, "I wasn't planning on coming to the RNC, but after the attempted assassination I felt compelled. It was electric seeing President Trump that first Monday and I hope to hear his acceptance speech tonight."

We're happy to share Sabo's exclusive photos of his latest work — including "a TRUMP yard sign someone painted over that I decided to 'fix.'"

Bravo, sir — and enjoy the convention!

Sabo strikes: exclusive pics of art targeting LA Biden bash

A remake of "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" starring the Biden family ... in bikini briefs? A cure for Trump Derangement Syndrome hawked by George Clooney in his old "ER" scrubs? A shower-capped Biden promoting his creepy new homewares store Biden Bed Bath & Beyond?

Such is the skill of the street artist known as Sabo that those encountering these ads on bus shelters and benches in Los Angeles last week had to a do a double take before realizing something strange was afoot.

The products may have been fake, but the provocative posters served to call attention to a very real event: George Clooney's star-studded Biden fundraiser at downtown L.A.'s Peacock Theatre.

Democratic Party bigwigs gathered to watch Jimmy Kimmel interview Barack Obama while celebs like Jack Black and Julia Roberts lent their star power to securing four more years of Joe Biden, who seemed to "freeze" onstage at the end of the evening.

Ironically, none of Sabo's posters addressed Biden's concerning displays of cognitive impairment — although they suggested plenty of other reasons we need a presidential reboot.

Sabo also sent up Amal Clooney's recent work on an International Criminal Court advisory panel that called for Israeli leaders to face war crimes charges along with Hamas.

Sabo tells Align he was happy with how the work turned out while acknowledging the time and expense involved and the need to "decompress" after such intense, focused work. "I see us in this fight against these monsters, and [we] should take every shot we can at them."

Align is proud to share some of Sabo's own photos of his work in its natural habitat below. To learn more about Sabo or to support his work by buying posters, apparel, stickers, and other art, go to his website.

Guerilla street artist TROLLS woke American Airlines with brilliant and hilarious artwork

Leading the charge of major airline companies that have gone woke is American Airlines. Instead of focusing on flying planes safely, the company has been far more preoccupied with all things DEI, including gender inclusivity and affirmative action when it comes to its hiring practices.

Glenn Beck is sick of the leftist posturing — and so is guerilla street artist Sabo.

Last Saturday, fans headed to watch the Nate Diaz/Jake Paul fight were confronted with some of Sabo’s work.

The artist posted several pieces around Victory Park that ridiculed American Airlines’ woke corporate policies.

One poster featured the lines “welcome to the woke American Airlines! My pronouns are he/she/it/lost/baggage” above the image of an androgynous-looking pink-haired person.

When Glenn inquires about the identity of the person in the artwork, Sabo responds with: “I don’t know – I just don’t want whatever that thing is flying my plane.”

Another poster featured an image of a plane tied into a knot alongside the lines “get woke with American Airlines where diversity comes before safety. We have first class, business class, and woke class, where your middle seat can identify as a window seat.”

“So great,” says Glenn, who can’t help but giggle.

Glenn then asks Sabo if his American Airlines collection was inspired “by [the company’s] idea that they’re going to have diversity in the cockpit.”

“Yes, and when I hear something like that,” responds Sabo, “all I can think of is 300 people’s lives in the hands of someone who got hired as a token or a diversity hire.”

Guerrilla political artist Sabo speaks out after lighting up American Airlines in anti-woke poster campaign

Guerrilla political artist Sabo has taken American Airlines to task over its woke policies and leftist posturing via a series of incendiary posters plastered around Dallas' American Airlines Center.

Fans making their way to the Jake Paul and Nate Diaz boxing match at the arena were confronted Saturday in Victoria Park and elsewhere around the city's downtown with Sabo's signature sardonicism.

One set of posters showed the two fighters with the caption, "Woke air presents," providing "He/Him" pronouns below the fighters' names along with a note that "American Airlines Center's policy is gender inclusive."

Sabo

Another set of American Airlines-targeted posters read, "We have first class, business class, and woke class, where your middle seat can identify as a window seat."

Right outside the arena was a poster depicting a transvestite in a pilot's costume with the caption, "Welcome to woke American Airlines! My pronouns are he/she/it/lost/baggage."

Sabo

Sabo's play on the company's embrace of made-up pronouns is in reference to American Airline's 2019 policy allowing customers to identify as non-binary with corresponding "U" or "X" designations when flying.

To ensure its employees are up to date on the latest in gender ideology and activistic language, USA Today indicated the airline has worked with the Trevor Project, an activist group that claims that "gender is a social construct" and holds fast to the notion that sex-change mutilations and cross-sex hormone therapies can be meaningful remedies for at-risk teens.

In addition to its active promotion of radical gender ideology and partnership with activist outfits like the Human Rights Campaign and the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce, American Airlines has thrown around its weight and reputation to see conscientious objectors to the LGBT agenda crushed.

For instance, in 2017, the airline joined 36 other corporations in an amicus brief in the Supreme Court's Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission case, endorsing the principle that would see a Christian baker forced to make a "gay wedding cake" in violation of his own conscience.

Sabo told TheBlaze that he has "absolutely no problem" with gay or transgender individuals but rather with the "force feeding of this wokeness and transgenderism," particularly in schools, libraries, and by big corporations like American Airlines.

While long critical of leftist overreach and cultural deregulation, the guerrilla artist stressed that what pushed him over the edge was the involvement and targeting of children by LGBT activists — a phenomenon he regards as especially pernicious and worth condemning in no uncertain terms.

Sabo said it's gotten to the point where "I don't care if you're gay or straight, leave the kids alone."

This is hardly Sabo's first rodeo. He has been lampooning leftists and elites in public exhibitions for years.

In 2017, he posted graphics around Los Angeles of a crying late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel with the caption, "Estrogen Hour."

The same year, he commandeered a billboard to draw attention to accusations that former Democratic Sen. Al Franken's (Minn.) had inappropriately touched women.

In 2019, he altered a "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" movie billboard to include the names and faces of rapists Jeffrey Epstein and Roman Polanski.

The guerrilla artist saw fit to hit the streets once more with his politically-charged graphics not just because he the airline's active advancement of woke ideology couldn't go unanswered, but because the alternative, online memes, just don't have the same impact.

"I can crap out memes all day long," he said. "There's an added bravado and added something to getting it out on the street. ... There is a lot more danger and adrenaline when you put it out on the street versus online."

To ensure success, Sabo went out around 3 a.m. when all the bars were closed and virtually everyone else had gone to bed. In addition to minimizing his chances of an unwanted encounter, this timing allowed for more time for the poster paint to dry.

Still, he claimed he nearly got arrested five times, adding, "How they didn't arrest me is just incredible."

Sabo, who has collaborated with Blaze Media in the past, also plastered a poster downtown Dallas that depicted a plane with a coiled fuselage, like that seen in the promotional material for the 1980 comedy film "Airplane!," with the caption, "If you like old comedies, then you'll love our corporate policies. ... Get woke with American Airlines where diversity comes before safety."

Sabo

In recent years, the airline has set for itself "representation goals," whereby board seats and other key roles at the organization were filled, at least in part, on the basis of applicants' race, sex, and sexual preference.

When pressed on whether identitarian DEI guidelines applied to the hiring of pilots, former CEO Doug Parker answered, "Oh, absolutely, of course," reported the Dallas Express.

Concerning the identity-based hiring scheme, Sabo told TheBlaze, "American Airlines seems to be pulling a woke agenda with their pilots."

"When you want to be gay, that's fine, but when you start making decisions on who you're going to hire based on something as pointless as [sexual preference]," Sabo suggested there's bound to be trouble.

"We kind of want the best pilots regardless of who they sleep with or what plumbing they have," he said.

The airline's current CEO, Robert Isom, has nevertheless committed to "embedding diversity, equity and inclusion" in everything the company does.

Sabo is not the only person vexed by the company's aggressive roll leftward.

Forbes reported that an American Airlines pilot sued the company, Fidelity Investments, and others on June 1 claiming they had violated the Employee Retirement Income Security Act by offering 401(k) plans that include ESG factors.

Brian Spence's complaint alleged that the defendants "have breached their fiduciary duties in violation of ERISA by investing millions of dollars of American Airlines employees' retirement savings with investment managers and investment funds that pursue leftist political agendas through environmental, social and governance ('ESG') strategies, proxy voting, and shareholder activism—activities which fail to satisfy these fiduciaries' statutory duties to maximize financial benefits in the sole interest of the Plan participants."

When asked who or what he intended to target in his next art campaign, Sabo indicated California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) was a contender, noting, "I truly think that he's going to run for president."

He said the Hollywood script-reader's strike migjt also be the subject of another campaign.
