Ron Johnson gives hilarious response to Matt Gaetz's nomination

When asked about Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida's nomination for attorney general, Republican Sen. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin responded by holding up a photo of two transgender appointees from President Joe Biden's administration.

Johnson's printed-out pictures included a photo of Rachel Levine, who serves as the assistant secretary of health for the Department of Health and Human Services, and a photo of Sam Brinton, who was nominated as deputy assistant secretary for the Office of Nuclear Energy.

When pressed about Gaetz' nomination, Johnson held up the photos and asked reporters whether they ever "harassed" Democratic lawmakers about those nominees.

Although Gaetz has sparked controversy online and hesitation from certain members of Congress, Johnson pointed out past nominees who have been just as controversial as, if not more than, the Florida firebrand.

Both nominees have scandal-ridden histories. In Levine's case, he pressured Biden administration officials to remove age requirements for transgender surgeries and puberty blockers for minors. Levine has also made claims that "climate change is having a disproportionate effect on the physical and mental health of Black communities."

On the other hand, Brinton, who identifies as "nonbinary," has faced federal charges for allegedly stealing Tanzanian designer Asya Khamsin's suitcase at Ronald Reagan National Airport in Arlington, Virginia. Brinton was caught when he was photographed wearing one of Khamsin's designs, making this the third alleged incident of luggage theft Brinton had been involved with.

Brinton pled guilty in a sweetheart deal, receiving no jail time. Brinton is no longer serving in the Biden administration.

Fashion designer says Sam Brinton publicly wore her custom clothing after they were stolen from luggage in an airport

A fashion designer claimed that former Biden official Sam Brinton had worn her custom designs in public after they had been stolen from her luggage at an airport.

Brinton was fired from his position at the Department of Energy after numerous accusations that he had stolen luggage at airports. He had been celebrated as the first openly "gender-fluid" person in a federal government position.

On Wednesday, a Houston-based fashion designer from Tanzania told Fox News Digital that she had reported her luggage stolen on March 9, 2018, at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. She later saw what appeared to be her stolen, distinctive clothing being worn by Brinton.

"I saw the images. Those were my custom designs, which were lost in that bag in 2018," said Asya Khamsin. "He wore my clothes, which was stolen."

She posted very persuasive images of her designer clothing and photographs of Brinton wearing similar clothing on social media.

Khamsin had filed a report with the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police Department and also notified Delta Air Lines.

In December, Khamsin filed another report with the Houston Police Department after seeing her clothing being worn by Brinton. She was later called by the FBI field office in Minneapolis about the accusations.

"Then my wife gave him the information and we didn't hear anything," said Khamsin's husband. "We don't know whether the case is on. We don't know whether the case is cold."

Brinton has not yet been charged with crimes related to the accusations from Khamsin, but he does face significant fines and jail time related to the other alleged airport luggage thefts.

Brinton has said in a previous interview that he was the son of Southern Baptist ministers and that he had undergone conversation therapy in hopes of turning him straight.

Non-binary Biden official fired after numerous charges related to suitcase thefts at airports

The "non-binary" Biden official who has been charged with crimes related to thefts of suitcases at an airport is now unemployed.

Sam Brinton worked as the deputy assistant secretary for spent fuel and waste disposition at the Department of Energy's Office of Nuclear Energy in President Joe Biden's administration, but on Monday, Brinton was reportedly fired, according to several sources.

An official at the DOE confirmed the report but offered no details.

“Sam Brinton is no longer a DOE employee. By law, the Department of Energy cannot comment further on personnel matters,” said the official to the Daily Beast.

Brinton had been celebrated by the left and many in the media for being the first openly "gender fluid" person in a federal government position.

According to court filings, Brinton was charged with stealing Vera Bradley designer luggage, reportedly worth $2,325, in September from the baggage claim at the Minneapolis-St. Paul airport.

Brinton initially denied the claim to officers but later confessed.

"If I had taken the wrong bag, I am happy to return it, but I don't have any clothes for another individual," Brinton told police. "That was my clothes when I opened the bag."

Brinton told police "exhaustion" was the reason for the theft.

Brinton faces up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine if found convicted of the charge of felony theft of a movable property without consent. The first hearing for the incident is scheduled for December 19.

Brinton was then charged with another similar charge of grand larceny with a value between $1,200 and $5,000 for an alleged incident at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Republicans called for Brinton's removal in a letter to Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm.
