Video shows vaccine mandate protesters stage sit-in at popular Times Square restaurant: 'They arrested me for trying to eat at Olive Garden'

People protesting New York City's restrictive vaccine mandate staged a protest at the popular Olive Garden restaurant in Times Square on Friday night. Several protesters were arrested following the boisterous demonstration.

A group of New Yorkers launched a protest at the Olive Garden to show their disdain for the city's vaccine mandate that requires people ages 5 to 12 to show proof they have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, and people 12 and older to show proof of two doses of the coronavirus vaccine.

Video shows the protesters — who refused to provide the restaurant with verification that they had received the COVID-19 vaccine — gathered in the Olive Garden restaurant.

"Victorious, we shut them down," a demonstrator boasts as employees of the restaurant refuse to serve the unmasked protesters.

"Take off your mask, free your face," another protester tells employees of the restaurant. "Stand up to your bosses."

The protesters chanted "U-S-A!" and sang "The Star-Spangled Banner."

Oliya Scootercaster of Freedom News TV reported that the restaurant closed after the protesters were there for two hours. The protest was over by 10:40 p.m., but the restaurant allegedly shut down before its usual Friday closing time of 1 a.m.

New York Police Department officers were summoned to the restaurant, and most of the demonstrators dispersed.

Video from independent photojournalist Leeroy Johnson shows protesters being escorted out in handcuffs by NYPD officers.

"I got arrested. They arrested me for trying to eat at Olive Garden, that’s what happened," a protester said.

While being taken away by police, a protester shouts, "This is the Civil Rights movement again!"

Another demonstrator screamed, "Wake up New York! Wake the f*** up!"

Some onlookers applauded the protesters and called them "heroes."

Four protesters were arrested after refusing to leave the restaurant, according to the New York Post. "Three men and a woman were expected to be charged with trespassing, according to officials," the outlet reported. There were no reports of vandalism, according to Fox News.

There have been similar anti-vaccine passport protests at restaurants in New York City, including at Carmine's in the Upper West Side, Cheesecake Factory in Queens, and a Burger King in Brooklyn.

'This is Kristallnacht': Palestinians continue attacks on Israelis with rockets, street violence

Hamas militants continued their barrage of rocket fire at Israel on Tuesday, and the violence escalated in the streets to the point that the mayor of one Israeli town called for help and likened the attacks to the Nazi pogrom against German Jews, declaring: "This is Kristallnacht."

What are the details?

The mayor of the central Israeli city of Lod called for the nation's prime minister to declare a state of emergency amid attacks by "Islamists," The Times of Israel reported.

"This is Kristallnacht in Lod," said Mayor Yair Revivo. "I have called on the prime minister to declare a state of emergency in Lod. To call in the [Israel Defense Forces]. To impose a curfew. To restore quiet… There is a failure of governance… This is a giant incident — an Intifada of Arab Israelis. All the work we have done here for years [on coexistence] has gone down the drain."

Revivo went on to say:

"All of Israel should know, this is a complete loss of control… This is unthinkable. Synagogues are being burned. Hundreds of cars set alight. Hundreds of Arab thugs are roaming the streets… Civil war has erupted in Lod… The Orthodox-nationalist community here has guns. I'm imploring them to go back home but they understandably want to protect their homes. Petrol bombs are being thrown into [Jewish] homes. The situation is incendiary."

The New York Post reported that Hamas fired 130 rockets Tuesday just at the city of Tel Aviv alone — which has a population of nearly half a million people.

Video posted online shows Israel's Iron Dome defense system intercepting the rockets. Newsmax foreign correspondant Alex Salvi tweeted of the footage, "Imagine the carnage if these ≈150 rockets landed in Tel Aviv (population of 450,000)."

But Israel has been fighting back. The IDF announced Tuesday that they "killed the commander of the Hamas anti-tank missile unit, Iyad Fathi Faik Sharir," who "was in charge of carrying out anti-tank missile attacks on Israel."

Parade of Trump supporters and counter-protesters clash in NYC; weapons seized, police officer hospitalized

Supporters of former President Donald Trump held a parade in New York City on Friday, but were met by counter-protesters. The event featured the unfurling of a 50-foot "Trump 2024" flag, and a march from Trump Tower to Times Square, but tensions flared after a counter-protest was staged.

A large crowd of Trump supporters marched down Fifth Avenue and carried Gadsden and thin blue line flags as well as large banners, including one showing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi depicted as being evil while ripping up a copy of Trump's 2020 State of the Union speech.

As the Trump supporters made their way to Times Square, NYPD officers attempted to keep counter-protesters at bay. However, there were several tense exchanges and multiple arrests.

Video journalist Ford Fischer from News 2 Share shared footage from the event, including the moment where a counter-protester confronted a group with "Asians for Trump" signs. The counter-protester gets in the face of one Trump supporter and screams, "Fight me, Fight me then!"

(Content Warning: Explicit language):

"As the rally rounded into the pedestrian plaza on Broadway and 42nd street, the group stopped and several counter-protesters began yelling that someone had a knife," Freedom News TV reported.

NYPD confiscated multiple weapons during the event, including brass knuckles and a knife. NYPD said one police officer was taken to the hospital after a liquid, which was believed to be bleach, was thrown into his eyes.

"Four arrests were made for various crimes, including assaults on police officers and weapons possession," NYPD announced on Twitter. "Violent actions will not be tolerated from those who claim to be 'peaceful protestors.'"

The parade was to show support for Trump running for president in the 2024 election. Last Sunday, Trump made his first public appearance since Inauguration Day at the Conservative Political Action Conference. Trump hinted that he may run for president in 2024.

"But who knows, I may even decide to beat them for a third time," Trump said, which made the CPAC crowd cheer loudly.

NYC BLM march descends into violence: 11 arrested, two NYPD cops injured, press member attacked

An anti-police march attended by Black Lives Matter members in New York City descended into violence on Friday night.

Approximately 100 protesters attended the "F*** 12" march in Midtown Manhattan. According to the Salt Lake Tribune, "F*** 12" and "F12" are anti-police terms that mean "f*** the police," a reference to the police TV shows "Adam-12" or "Barney Miller," which was set at the New York City Police Department's 12th Precinct.

Demonstrators with Black Lives Matter, which was nominated for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize three weeks ago, burned an American flag and a pro-law enforcement thin blue line flag near the NYPD kiosk in Times Square in a supposed protest against police brutality.

Large protest breaks out at Staten Island bar forced to shutter for lockdown: 'People are fed up!'

Protesters endured the near-freezing weather on Wednesday night to show their support of a defiant New York City bar that was shuttered by lockdown orders that banned indoor dining at bars and restaurants.

The owners of Mac's Public House in Staten Island decided two weeks ago that their establishment would become an "autonomous zone," in an attempt to skirt the coronavirus lockdown orders enacted by New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D).

The bar is located inside an "orange zone," which stipulates: "Restaurants, bars, cafes and other food service establishments can provide outdoor dining and takeout and delivery service only. There is a four-person maximum per table. No indoor dining is allowed."

The bar attempted to circumvent the coronavirus restrictions by offering free drinks, while asking for "donations."

Deputy sheriffs entered the bar undercover and noted that they observed 14 people drinking and eating at around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Tuesday night, the New York City Sheriff's Department raided Mac's Public House for defying the COVID-19 lockdown orders. Law enforcement shut down the business and arrested Danny Presti, who is the bar's co-owner along with Keith McAlarney.

Presti was charged with obstructing governmental administration, according to NYC Sheriff Joseph Fucito. Presti was issued a desk appearance ticket and set free later that evening.

Lou Gelormino, an attorney who represents Mac's Public House, told the Staten Island Advance that Presti was arrested because he refused to vacate his business "and at that point ... they considered it trespassing."

"I can assure everybody there wasn't a person in the place that was disorderly, disrespectful, or not courteous," Gelormino informed WABC-TV. "Executive orders are emergency powers that are supposed to be short lived and narrowly tailored."

Attorney Mark Fonte, who also represents the tavern, said, "We urge our friends in the restaurant industry to be as resilient as possible while we appeal this decision."

"These sheriff's officers are 'wannabe' cops," Fonte proclaimed. "This is what happens when little people get a little power. Each one of them will have to answer to a federal judge. The issuing of summonses to an attorney for representing his client will not be dealt with lightly. I would advise the issuing sheriff to lawyer up immediately."

On Wednesday, state Sen. Andrew Lanza was restrained outside Mac's Public House. Police stopped him from entering the restaurant and said only legal counsel could enter. Lanza declared that he is a "free-of-charge attorney," and police asked for a retainer.

"I got a piece of cardboard and I drew up a retainer," Lanza told the Staten Island Advance. "I signed it. The owner came out and signed it, which is legally binding."

Authorities said his retainer was not valid, and he was prohibited from entering the building.

"I took a step toward the door so they started to grab me and I said 'OK, I won't go in,'" Lanza said. Police officers restrained Lanza and then released him.

By Wednesday night, approximately 2,000 supporters of Mac's Public House showed up for a rally outside the bar that was shut down. Police guarded the pub and prevented anyone from entering.

Nicole Malliotakis was named the winner of New York's 11th Congressional District election by the Associated Press on Monday, which includes all of Staten Island and some of Brooklyn. Malliotakis, a Republican, endorsed the protest on Wednesday night.

"Hundreds of Staten Islanders turned out tonight in support of Mac's Public House and by doing so sent a loud and clear message to @NYCMayor & @NYGovCuomo; New Yorkers are sick & tired of their double standards, arbitrary restrictions, heavy-handed attacks on businesses and restraints they've placed on the freedom of individuals," Malliotakis wrote on Twitter.

"It's outrageous that @senatorlanza was almost arrested for attempting to enter Mac's to consult with it owners," she continued. "Gov & Mayor are killing small businesses, destroying dreams & unfairly punishing constituents for simply trying to lead a normal life."

Far-left agitators call for death of 'Nazi' cops, scream at NYPD: 'Hope all of your children get raped and killed'

Deplorable demonstrators hurled vicious slurs and made heinous remarks to the faces of NYPD officers on Saturday. Malicious members of an anti-Trump and "anti-fascist" mob wished death upon the children of police officers.

There was an anti-Trump march in Manhattan on Saturday against "racism" and fascism, where the crowd chanted: "Black lives matter!" The march was organized by the United Against Racism and Fascism NYC, a self-proclaimed "broad-based coalition in NYC opposing racism & bigotry, and united in solidarity & action against fascism." Black Lives Matter and NYPD clash after protest stops traffic on George Washington Bridge: 'We shut s*** down!'

A Black Lives Matter protest shut down the upper level of the George Washington Bridge on Saturday. BLM supporters and NYPD clashed as police attempted to unblock the George Washington Bridge after traffic was ground to a halt.

For about an hour on Saturday night, Black Lives Matter demonstrators marched across the George Washington Bridge to the 34th precinct station house in Manhattan's Washington Heights neighborhood. About 100 protesters blocked all cars and trucks from passing. The crowd boasted that they were on the bridge to "shut s*** down!"

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) gave an interview to BlazeTV's Steven Crowder last week, where he suggested that the riots erupting in American cities are likely a coordinated effort funded by corporate America.

"We're seeing these people ... some of the same people are in Portland, Kenosha, D.C., Louisville," Paul said. "How are they getting there? They're staying at the [Willard Hotel] — the Willard Hotel might be $500 to $1,000 a night — who's paying for them to stay in the Willard Hotel? Who's paying for them to have air flight? Who's paying them to do this?"

"And here's the sad truth of it," he explained. "It's probably not going to be a sinister name like George Soros, it's going to be corporate America."

"Corporate America is giving money to Black Lives Matter, and my guess is, if we follow the money, the people who paid for the plane tickets and the hotels and the people who continue to do this, is Black Lives Matter," Paul continued. "People should not be giving money to a group that is then funding thuggery."

Paul advocated that instead of funding Black Lives Matter, people should consider giving their money to the United Negro College Fund or the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.

Protesters intimidated numerous diners at Rochester restaurants on Friday by flipping tables and shattering glassware. A protester was seen on video screaming, "We're shutting your party down!"

Three of the restaurants that lost patrons and had property damaged during the demonstrations have come out to support the Black Lives Matter protests.

WHRC-TV reported that restaurants Swan Dive, Ox and Stone, and Daily Refresher released statements on Instagram siding with the protests.

Despite what videos might depict, we lost some glassware last night. You can not deny the anger and hurt our community is feeling right now. As always, the actions of a few agitators are amplified louder and louder as videos are shared and conclusions are drawn. We, now and always, stand with those standing against injustice.
Stay safe. Listen. Love.
Ever better.

The restaurants also said that they would not open on Saturday night.

Protests continued on Saturday night in Rochester, as people took to the streets to call for justice of the death of Daniel Prude, a 41-year-old man who died on March 23 in Rochester Police custody. Monroe County Medical Examiner's Office said Prude died from "complications of asphyxia in the setting of physical restraint due to excited delirium due to acute phencyclidine intoxication," which is "an indication that Prude might have been high on PCP."

Seven Rochester police officers involved in Prude's arrest have been suspended with pay. The case is being investigated by the New York State Attorney General's Office.

On Saturday night, more than 1,000 protesters marched through the streets of Rochester. Agitators threw bottles and rocks at police, and launched fireworks at them as well. Three officers were "treated at local hospitals for injuries sustained as a result of projectiles and incendiary devices which were launched against them," Lt. Greg Bello told the Democrat & Chronicle.

Officers deployed tear gas and pepper balls to disperse the crowd shortly before 10:30 p.m., according to WSYR-TV.

Rioters damaged city hall, and set U-Haul trucks on fire. The owner of three U-Haul trucks destroyed during the BLM protests is Jesse Barksdale, who told WHEC reporter Charles Molineaux that he is livid over the destruction of his business.

Police said there were nine arrests, including two suspects charged with felonies of first-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree rioting, second-degree assault against an officer, and unlawful assembly.
