Using a tracking app, mother busts NC teacher having sex with her son in parked car: Prosecutors

A mother in North Carolina used a tracking app to catch a teacher having sex with her son inside a parked car, according to prosecutors.

Gabriela Cartaya-Neufeld, 26, was arrested for allegedly engaging in sexual activity with an 18-year-old student on Nov. 29, according to a statement released by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Cartaya-Neufeld was charged with five counts of felony sexual activity with a student by a teacher. She was then taken to the Mecklenburg County Detention Center.

Citing court records, WNCT-TV reported that Cartaya-Neufeld was released the next day on a $75,000 secured bond.

Cartaya-Neufeld appeared in court on Thursday, where allegations surfaced of the South Mecklenburg High School teacher having an illicit sexual relationship with one of her students.

Prosecutors claimed that the mother of the student caught wind of the possible relationship over Thanksgiving. She allegedly grew suspicious when her son missed rugby practice. The mom reportedly used the Life360 app – a family safety location app – to track down her son at Park Road Park in south Charlotte.

"According to prosecutors, the mom drove to the park, where she reported seeing Cartaya-Neufeld and her son in a car having sex. She took photos of the car and license plate and then called police," WSOC-TV reported.

Since October, the teacher and student had sex at least five times but fewer than 100 times, according to court documents.

Prosecutors said the alleged sexual encounters happened at the home of the student’s mother, Cartaya-Neufeld’s home, and car.

Additionally, there were reportedly rumors swirling at the South Mecklenburg High School about the illegal relationship. At one point, school administrators reportedly questioned the student and the teacher about the allegations.

The principal of South Mecklenburg High School said in a statement, “Although I cannot discuss personnel information, I wanted to inform you that we take this matter seriously. We share your concerns regarding this situation. The safety and security of our students and staff is of the utmost importance to us all, and while this is a troubling situation, it is being managed by law enforcement.”

According to the school's website, Cartaya-Neufeld is listed as a science teacher for ninth through 12th-grade students.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools confirmed she started working for the school system in 2020.

The student allegedly threatened to run away.

The judge ordered Cartaya-Neufeld to wear an electronic monitoring device over the alleged sex crimes.

Under North Carolina state law, a teacher cannot have sexual relations with a student, unless they are legally married to the student. Consent or being age 18 is not a legal defense.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is urging anyone with information regarding this case to please call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600 or Charlotte Crime Stoppers.

Marilyn Manson accused of sexually assaulting 16-year-old, lawsuit claims rocker threatened to kill girl's family if she told anyone

Singer Marilyn Manson faces a new accusation of sexual assault. A lawsuit claims that the singer, born Brian Warner, sexually assaulted a minor multiple times in the 1990s.

Manson was hit with a lawsuit on Monday by an anonymous woman. Jane Doe accused Manson of grooming and sexually abusing her for years starting when she was 16 years old. However, the woman continually sought out Manson on multiple tour stops over the course of several years.

The lawsuit, filed in Nassau County Supreme Court on Long Island, New York, accuses Manson of sexual battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The lawsuit also accuses Manson's former record labels, Trent Reznor’s Nothing Records and Interscope, of negligence, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and other charges.

The plaintiff alleges that she first met Manson in 1995 following a concert in Dallas, Texas. Jane Doe, who was 16 years old at the time, claims that she was waiting outside his tour bus when he invited her inside along with "one of the other younger girls."

The lawsuit claims, "While on the tour bus, Defendant Warner performed various acts of criminal sexual conduct upon Plaintiff, who was a virgin at the time, including but not limited to forced copulation and vaginal penetration."

The lawsuit says the plaintiff was "in pain, scared, upset, humiliated, and confused."

"Then Defendant Warner demanded Plaintiff to 'get the f*** off of my bus' and threatened Plaintiff that if she told anyone he would kill her and her family," the suit alleges.

The woman says that a crew member provided her with a phone number for the band and a password so she could meet Manson again. Manson purportedly talked to the plaintiff and asked her for explicit photos of her and her friends.

The lawsuit claims that she began using drugs and alcohol shortly after the alleged sexual assault.

Despite the alleged sexual assault, the plaintiff traveled to New Orleans that same year to meet Manson again.

The lawsuit claims that Manson "groomed" the then-16-year-old plaintiff by complimenting her artwork. The plaintiff claims that Manson sexually assaulted her again, but this time it was "more aggressive."

The age of consent is 17 in Texas and Louisiana.

At age 18, Jane Doe allegedly began dating Chris Vrenna, drummer for the band Nine Inch Nails. Vrenna is said to have a "close association with Warner."

In 1999, Jane Doe allegedly went to a Marilyn Manson concert in Dallas. She then reconnected with Manson after traveling to see his concert in New Orleans.

Rolling Stone reported, "He continued this pattern throughout the time they spent together, Doe alleges, claiming that when she was 19, Warner 'perpetuated his grooming, manipulation, exploitation and sexual assault of Plaintiff' over the course of approximately a month."

"Jane Doe traveled to numerous cities and states, including New York. At each event, Warner and his band brought her backstage and on the bus," the lawsuit alleges. "During this period, Jane Doe encountered Warner virtually every day. Warner and his associates provided drugs to Jane Doe, and Warner continued to groom, harass and sexually abuse her."

"Defendant Warner often coerced Plaintiff to have sex with him and other band members or his assistant at the same time," the suit claims. "Defendant Warner controlled what Plaintiff could do, who could touch Plaintiff, and who he wanted Plaintiff to be with sexually, all while providing Plaintiff with drugs."

The suit accuses Manson of "emotional manipulation" and "hostile and verbally abusive behavior." The lawsuit states, "While she was still a child, Defendant Warner had purposefully and intentionally laid the groundwork necessary to intimidate and control her."

More than a dozen women have accused Manson of sex crimes. Two lawsuits against Manson have been dismissed.

Actress Evan Rachel Wood filed a civil suit against Manson, claiming that the rocker raped her and threatened to "harm her" if she went public about the abuse.

Last week, Manson reached a settlement in a sexual lawsuit filed by actress Esmé Bianco. The "Game of Thrones" actress sued Manson in April 2021. She accused the musician of rape and verbal and physical abuse dating back to 2007.

In February 2021, Manson was dropped by his record label – Loma Vista Recordings – over the sex abuse allegations.

Louisiana man caught on 'gruesome' video sexually abusing a neighbor's pit bull, police say

A Louisiana man was arrested on Thursday for sexually abusing a local dog in his neighborhood, according to police. The sexual attack on the pit bull was reportedly captured on video and seen by authorities.

The Alexandria Police Department arrested 23-year-old Noah Tomlin on Thursday for the alleged sex crime.

A video of the alleged sexual assault of the dog was reportedly uploaded to Facebook. Multiple people as well as the Humane Society of Louisiana tipped off the police about the purported sexual assault.

The Humane Society of Louisiana said Tomlin walked out of his house and approached a neighbor's pit bull that was bound by a heavy chain.

WAFB reported, "That’s when the man forced the dog to perform oral sex on him."

The incident happened in broad daylight and allegedly lasted two minutes.

The owner of the dog was notified of the animal abuse.

Jeff Dorson – the executive director at Humane Society of Louisiana – said "pet detectives" with his organization "helped to secure an arrest of a sexual predator."

After seeing the "gruesome and disturbing video," workers with the Humane Society of Louisiana contacted the Alexandria Police Department to report the suspected crime. At first, the police allegedly said the case was an animal control issue. However, the workers allegedly pushed to have a detective investigate the criminal allegations.

Dorson said Tomlin and the owner of the abused dog share the same backyard.

The Humane Society of Louisiana offered to pay for the dog to be examined by a veterinarian. The organization also offered the owner some suggestions on how to protect his dog in the future.

Tomlin was booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center and charged with sexual abuse of an animal. Tomlin reportedly posted a $1,000 bond on Friday.

'Dangerous by design' metaverse apps allow children to access immersive digital sex clubs

A researcher who went under cover in the metaverse as a 13-year-old girl witnessed grooming, graphic sexual material, and threats of rape.

The researcher, the BBC reported, used an app with a minimum age rating of 13 and visited virtual reality rooms where other users’ avatars were simulating explicit acts. The researcher, whose online presence depicted that of a 13-year-old girl, was shown sex toys and condoms and approached by several adult men.

One man told the researcher that in the metaverse, users’ avatars can “get naked and do unspeakable things.” Other users approached the researcher while in the metaverse and discussed “erotic role-play.”

The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, a British charity dedicated to the welfare of Great Britain’s children, warned that some of the apps in the metaverse are “dangerous by design” as there is very little content moderation in the metaverse.

For instance, the app used by the researcher to access the metaverse, VRChat, allows its users to access any number of immersive chatrooms. Some of these rooms are as innocuous as digital McDonald’s, while others allow users to watch and participate in pole dancing or even attend digitally immersive strip clubs.

Mr. Burrows of the NSPCC said, “It’s children being exposed to entirely inappropriate, really incredibly harmful experiences. This is a product that is dangerous by design, because of oversight and neglect. We are seeing products rolled out without any suggestion that safety has been considered.”

Jess Sherwood, the researcher who went under cover, said, “I was surprised how totally immersed in the spaces you are. I started to feel like a child again. So when grown men were asking why I wasn’t in school and encouraging me to engage in VR sex acts, it felt all the more disturbing.”

She said, “VRChat definitely felt more like an adult’s playground than a child’s. A lot of the rooms were overtly sexualized in pink neon, similar to what you might see in the red-light district in Amsterdam or in the more seedy parts of London’s Soho at night. Inside, sex toys were on display.”

Catherine Allen, founder of a UK-based augmented and digital reality consulting firm, said that while VR can be “fun and surreal,” it also tends to be “quite traumatic and disturbing.”

She described an incident in a Meta-owned app where she and a 7-year-old girl were surrounded by a group of men who joked about raping them.

VRChat said that it was “working hard to make itself a safe and welcoming place for everyone” and that “predatory and toxic behavior has no place on the platform.”

Michigan man mowed down jogger with his car to kill woman and then had sex with her body, prosecutors say

Van Buren County Sheriff's Office

A Michigan man allegedly struck a woman so that he could kill her to have sex with her body, according to police.

Colby Martin, 29, of White Pigeon, Michigan, drove his 2013 Ford F-150 truck into a jogger to deliberately hit a 64-year-old woman, according to authorities.

"The driver struck the jogger as she was near the Oak Shores Campground on Sept. 20, the report said," the New York Post reported. "He then moved the body to a wooded area where he allegedly committed the sex acts, authorities said, according to the station. Martin led investigators to the site the next day, the report said."

WDIV-TV reported, "Detectives said Martin searched for pornography involving dead or unconscious women immediately after [the victim] was reported missing, testified Van Buren County Sheriff's Office detective Andrew Galor during a probable cause hearing Tuesday in Van Buren County District Court."

Investigators also found condoms in Martin's vehicle and in the trashcan of his home – which reportedly had DNA of the suspect and the victim. WMMT-TV reported that Martin had been charged with manslaughter with a motor vehicle, concealment of death, and failure to stop at the scene of an accident.

Law enforcement allegedly noticed that Martin's truck had "severe front-end damage" when they initially confronted him at a Walmart store in Oshtemo Township the day after the crime.

Martin had reportedly been out on a $300,000 bond since the initial charges in September, but Van Buren County District Court Judge Michael McKay recently said, "This is a very different set of facts" about the new evidence and developments regarding the grisly allegations.

The suspect reportedly had the victim's cell phone in his possession.

"I think he represents the most extreme danger to the public," said Van Buren County Prosecuting Attorney Kirk Metzger said. “Chilling doesn’t describe it."

Martin’s lawyer – Jim Mequio – said, "We’re still waiting for reports and more evidence from the prosecutor’s office. From a legal standpoint, I’m not seeing the increase in charges will be justified."

Man, 18, accused of molesting cousin, 7, during online class in front of teacher and first-grade students

An 18-year-old Chicago man is accused of molesting his 7-year-old cousin during her remote learning class on Thursday, according to prosecutors.

Catrell A. Walls was arrested on Thursday afternoon shortly after 3:30 p.m., the Chicago Tribune reported. Walls, who was out on bond for a gun case, was charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a victim under 13-years-old.

Authorities claim that Walls was seen sexually molesting his young cousin during her online learning session. At the time, fellow first graders were logged on to the Google classroom e-learning session, and the teacher allegedly saw the purported sex crime.

The alleged sexual assault reportedly happened during a break in the class. The teacher instructed students to turn off their cameras and mute their microphones. The 7-year-old reportedly muted her computer but did not turn off the camera.

Once the alleged sex act began, the teacher ordered all the students to log off the session. The teacher called out the alleged victim's name and told her to turn off the camera, according to prosecutors.

The teacher alerted the school's principal, who then contacted the girl's family, Chicago police, and the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.

Police reportedly went to the home of the girl's grandmother, where she was said to have been staying during the day for online classes. Walls was arrested, and while being taken into custody, he began crying. "I don't know why. I'm sorry. I'm sorry," he said, according to Cook County Assistant State's Attorney Andreana Turano.

The alleged victim said Walls had sexually assaulted her for the last year, Turano said. The alleged victim said the abuse was "a secret." Walls showed complete disregard of children and a "wanton callousness for human life," Turano said.

"This ongoing history of assault, for approximately a year, according to the victim, leads me to believe this is not something that will just stop because I have ordered it to," Judge Charles Beach said during Saturday's bond hearing. "This history and his actions from this case lead me to believe that he is a threat to an individual and the community as a whole."

Beach ordered no bail for Walls, noting that the suspect was "currently on bail for a felony offense."

Walls is a high school senior, who has trouble controlling his impulses because he suffers from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, his defense attorney said, adding it is "somewhat of a disability." Walls has no history of sexual crimes, or violent crimes, his attorney noted.

Walls' next court date is Nov. 21, according to WFLD-TV.
