How Speaker Mike Johnson BETRAYED Republicans — Rep. Massie SOUNDS OFF

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) has joined Rep. Majorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) in seeking to oust Speaker of the House Mike Johnson before the election — and Glenn Beck is wondering how it got to this point.

“I don’t understand this whole Mike Johnson thing, as speaker of the House, I don’t understand what happened to him, how we went so wrong,” Glenn says to Massie.

Massie has his reasons and lays out three times Johnson not only betrayed his own party but the American people as well.

“He did an omnibus bill that spends more than Nancy Pelosi’s omnibus bills did, and he gave the FBI a brand-new building in that omnibus bill, and he didn’t give us time to read it,” Massie explains, adding, “that was the first betrayal.”

“Second betrayal: FISA. This is the spying program that’s been used to surveil Americans without a warrant. He cast the deciding vote on whether to have warrants or not, and he voted against warrants,” Massie continues.

Lastly, Massie lays out the third betrayal, which happened when every Democrat in the house voted to send more money to Ukraine, before waving Ukrainian flags.

“I think Speaker Johnson, if capable of having shame at this point, should have been humiliated by that display as well. I put the video of that on Twitter and the sergeant at arms told me it would fine me $500 if I didn’t take it down, so I reposted it,” Massie laughs.

“Third betrayal was that Ukrainian vote,” he says. “We gave up all leverage on any border security.”

The ONE thing you need to know about House Speaker Mike Johnson

Kevin McCarthy is OUT, and Mike Johnson is IN.

But who is Mike Johnson? We don’t know much about him as of now, but Glenn Beck is certain about one thing: the media is not on his side.

“The media hates Mike Johnson. ... You remember when McCarthy was Hitler?” he asks, before explaining that Johnson is portrayed by the media as “Hitler’s Hitler.”

Stu Burguiere, who’s been carefully watching the media’s coverage of Johnson, agrees, saying, “All of a sudden Kevin McCarthy is this, like, moderate guy that we could all understand and get along with, [but Johnson]? He's crazy.”

Glenn then recalls when Pope Francis was elected at the Vatican back in 2013.

“The media was like, ‘Oh we're going to hate all these popes. ... They're so bigoted,’” but when Pope Francis was selected, “Immediately within 10 minutes, everyone on CNN [and] MSNBC was like, ‘Oh he's a good pope, he's one of the best popes ever.’”

That’s when Glenn knew “there's something really wrong with this guy.”

“Seeing that the media does not love Johnson,” says Glenn, “I think that's a pretty good sign.”

However, Glenn doesn’t want to jump to conclusions.

“Be cautious,” he warns. “This guy could be a nightmare. ... This guy might be good.”

Based on the fact that Johnson’s voting record was “pretty much the same” as McCarthy’s, Stu assumes “they're going to be right in the same realm.”

Regardless, “there's only so much a speaker can do,” he continues, adding that hopefully Johnson “can be someone who's aggressive and hopefully allows the truth to come out,” which is “the main thing that the House can do right now.”

Mike Johnson Wins Speakership On First Vote

Every House Republican voted for Johnson

'Carry on!' Chip Roy ISN'T backing down on Jim Jordan

The first round of voting to elect Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) speaker of the House failed, but Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) isn’t giving up.

Jim Jordan “came to Washington to change it,” Roy tells Sara Gonzales. While Jordan failed to secure the first round, he did get 200 votes out of the Republican conference.

“That is a monumental achievement. We are moving the needle; we are changing this town,” Roy adds.

However, 20 Republicans voted against Jordan.

“Just notice that of the 20, seven of them are appropriators; four of them are on the House Armed Services Committee. The people that think they run this town, typically, traditionally, historically, have been appropriators and the defense complex — we’re trying to break that. That’s what’s really going on,” Roy explains.

Gonzales notes that these Republicans are behaving like “a bunch of adults having a hissy fit,” as many of them voted for people who aren’t even running.

“Who needs enemies with friends like these?” she asks.

“If we can’t unify right now when it matters, why the hell did voters go out and make sure that Republicans were in charge of the House?”

While Gonzales is “pissed,” Roy is positive about the future.

“We’re going to get through this,” he tells Gonzales.

“We’ve stood up for life, we’ve stood up for parents, we’ve stood up for a strong border. We have a Senate, Democrats, and a president that won’t work with us. We have a thin majority, and we’re exposing this family feud for the entire country to see.”

Roy explains that he’s “not backing down” and will work with those on his side to "change this town or bust.”

“If my colleagues think they’re going to roll over me or roll over Jim Jordan, they’re out of their mind,” he adds.
