America has 'GONE SOFT' and needs a return to masculinity

Bill Maher and the alpha of the UFC, Dana White, have basically nothing in common — until now.

When White went on Maher’s "Club Random" podcast, this became clear when they started discussing the softening of sports and landed on the topic of Damar Hamlin’s injury.

“By the time night had fallen on this event, it was just the one true opinion that this game could not have been played, because that’s the way America reacts to things. Now, I’m in the opinion that they should have played the game,” Maher told White.

But they didn’t play the game, because they claimed the most important thing was Damar, which Maher called “bad logic.”

“How does that affect playing the game? He’s in the hospital. Unless the doctors are watching the game out of the corner of their eye while they’re operating on him, I don’t think it’s going to affect anything,” Maher continued, noting that the first thing Hamlin said when he woke up was “Did we win?”

“No, because you live in baby land, Damar,” Maher laughed.

“I don’t disagree with you,” White said, adding, “The last thing that I want to see is any more of the p***ification of this country.”

Jason Whitlock is thrilled that this conversation is happening between such big names.

“These types of conversations where Bill Maher’s trying to bring sanity back to the left always please me. And to see Dana White co-signing pleased me as well,” Whitlock says.

Dear Sports Media: ‘You Need To Calm Down’ About Taylor Swift

'Sunday Night Football' hosts Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth could not stop talking about Taylor Swift during the Chiefs-Jets game.

'Tell him I will thrash them,' Putin reportedly declares as he rejects a handwritten bid for peace from Zelenskyy

Roman Abramovich, the former owner of the Chelsea FC soccer team, in recent weeks has been serving as an impromptu diplomat as he works to convey messages between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Abramovich, a fabulously wealthy Russian businessman, is currently attempting to avoid Western sanctions on his wealth by residing in Istanbul, Turkey. Aside from his business endeavors, Abramovich is well known for his close relationship with Putin.

From his residence in Turkey, Abramovich has been acting as a “peacemaker,” according to the Daily Mail, as he flies back and forth between Moscow and Ukraine communicating with Putin and Zelenskyy.

Last Wednesday, Abramovich left his Istanbul residence aboard a private jet for Moscow.

The oligarch flew into the Russian capital to meet with Putin and give him a handwritten note from Zelenskyy that outlined Ukraine’s terms for peace.

In response to this, Putin is reported to have said, “Tell him I will thrash them.”

After meeting with Putin in Moscow, Abramovich returned to Istanbul, where he met with the Ukrainian politician turned negotiator Rustem Umerov.

In Turkey, Abramovich and Umerov were assisted in negotiations with Ibrahim Kalin, the spokesman for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Kalin suggested that Ukrainian officials make a deal with their Russian counterparts in which Crimea and Donbas be held under a long-term lease — similar to the situation between Britain and China regarding Hong Kong.

Putin is reportedly considering the agreement, but his intense frustration with his military’s lack of success and disdain for Zelenskyy are holding him back.

Abramovich is one of several Russian oligarchs seeking refuge from Western sanctions in Turkey. He currently has two of his superyachts moored in Bodrum, a city on the country’s southwest coast.

Abramovich, in particular, has been able to work around sanctions from the Turkish government, despite his close relationship with Putin, because of his utility and willingness to participate in and assist with peace talks.

Previous peace talks hosted by Turkey between Russian and Ukrainian coalitions reportedly failed.

This experience is not unique, however.

Efforts to secure peace are proving to be increasingly difficult as the conflict drags on.

Leadership in the Israeli government has also run into trouble trying to advocate for peace.

Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett spoke with Zelenskyy over the phone in mid-March and urged him to accept Putin’s conditions for peace, including an immediate cease to military action, enshrining geopolitical neutrality in the Ukrainian constitution, officially recognizing Crimea as Russian territory, and recognizing Donetsk and Luhansk as independent states.

Zelenskyy was not agreeable to these terms.

Shannon Sharpe blasts Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy for watermelon stunt

Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy was heavily criticized by sports commentator Shannon Sharpe Tuesday morning after McCarthy used a sledgehammer and a watermelon to motivate his players to win their Sunday match against the Minnesota Vikings.

McCarthy reportedly pulled out a sledgehammer during Saturday night's team meeting and smashed watermelons, mimicking the prop comic Gallagher, to inspire his players to "hammer the ball" out of Minnesota running back Dalvin Cook's hands. NFL Network reporter Tom Pelissero recounted the stunt Monday.

"Mike McCarthy gets up and says, 'Guys, I want to apologize. I don't think I did a good enough job emphasizing our objectives for the week' — one of which was to hammer the ball out of [Minnesota running back] Dalvin Cook's hands," Pelissero said. "At that point McCarthy pulls out a sledgehammer, not a prop, a full sledgehammer you could knock a wall down with, and someone rolls in a bunch of watermelons."

"Each one has a different objective written on it," Pelissero added. "McCarthy reads the objective — BAM! — smashes the watermelon. He goes down the row doing this. The players are roaring, McCarthy's pants are soaked. He finally gets to the watermelon with Dalvin Cook's picture on it, DeMarcus Lawrence jumps up and goes, 'I've got to get that one.' He hands the sledgehammer to Lawrence, he smashes that watermelon."

Fun, right? Not according to Fox Sports 1's Shannon Sharpe. Discussing the Cowboys' team meeting on "Undisputed," Sharpe said "I don't think it's fun."

"Dear white America, any time you have black people in your presence, watermelon has a negative connotation," he continued.

"Yep," Skip Bayless agreed.

"Let it go," Sharpe went on. "Things that were acceptable many, many years ago, even though it wasn't acceptable, it was tolerated, is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Find another tool, another mechanism to motivate your players. Black players: If you need somebody, a white man smashing watermelons, to get you motivated, you're in the wrong line of business. It's not funny. It's not cute."

Sharpe began yelling:

I don't get these young guys anymore, I really don't. Because there ain't no way in hell Mike Shanahan, Dan Reeves, Wade Phillips, or any of my coaches could have ever brought a watermelon and ... what!? And you think that's cool? And he bragged about it!

If you ain't going to a picnic, if you ain't going to a cookout or a barbecue, man you better not have no watermelons coming up in there talking about we smashing this.

I don't know what Mike McCarthy was thinking. And I don't know what those black players in the locker room was thinking allowing him to do that to them.

"Agreed," Bayless said.
