Parents of PGA Tour golfer Grayson Murray reveal his tragic cause of death: 'We know he rests peacefully now'

The parents of professional golfer Grayson Murray have revealed his tragic cause of death a day after the two-time PGA Tour winner passed away at the age of 30.

As Blaze News reported on Saturday, Murray withdrew from the second round of the 2024 Charles Schwab Challenge on Friday – one day before his sudden death. Murray had played 16 holes in the second round Charles Schwab Challenge before withdrawing due to an "illness."

Life wasn't always easy for Grayson.

Grayson's parents – Eric and Terry Murray – issued a heartbreaking statement on Sunday, revealing that Murray's tragic cause of death was suicide.

"We have spent the last 24 hours trying to come to terms with the fact that our son is gone," the grief-stricken parents began. "It's surreal that we not only have to admit it to ourselves, but that we also have to acknowledge it to the world. It’s a nightmare."

The parents expressed that they still "have so many questions that have no answers."

The Murrays noted that Grayson was loved by them, his brother Cameron, his sister Erica, his extended family, his friends, and his fellow players. They also pointed out that golf fans also loved their talented son as pointed out by the wave of compassion following Grayson's death.

"We would like to thank the PGA Tour and the entire world of golf for the outpouring of support," the family said.

"Life wasn't always easy for Grayson, and although he took his own life, we know he rests peacefully now," the devastated parents lamented.

The parents concluded, "Please respect our privacy as we work through this incredible tragedy, and please honor Grayson by being kind to one another. If that becomes his legacy, we could ask for nothing else."

Murray had been open about his battles with alcoholism.

"Yes, I would drink during tournament weeks," Murray said after his Sony Open win in January, according to CBS Sports. "It was my outlet. I thought I was invincible coming out here as a 22-year-old, winning as a rookie, played three days hungover when I won. Best thing and worst thing that ever happened to me was winning my rookie year – but also feeling like I was invincible."

Murray added, "It took me a long time to get to this point. I'm a different man now. I would not be in this position right now today if I didn't put that drink down eight months ago."

He continued, "People who don't know me, I'll have to show it through my actions, and they'll get back on Grayson's side. My demeanor is so much better. It's really a lot of fun now. I really don't live and die by a golf shot anymore. I'm not going to sit here and say it's going to be all glory and roses, but it's going to be a lot better."

In January, Murray said that he had been sober since early 2023.

Murray won his second PGA Tour title at this year's Sony Open in Hawaii. His first big win came at the 2017 Barbasol Championship.

Mother suing American Airlines over son's heart attack death during flight, alleging defibrillator was faulty and crew unprepared

A New York City mother filed a federal lawsuit against American Airlines over the 2022 death of her 14-year-old son. The suit alleges that the plane's onboard defibrillator did not function correctly and accuses the flight crew of being unprepared and not being properly trained to use the medical equipment.

Melissa Arzu and her son were on American Airlines flight 614 from Honduras to Miami after enjoying a family summer vacation. During the flight, her son suddenly experienced a medical emergency.

Her 14-year-old son, Kevin Greenidge, allegedly lost consciousness shortly after takeoff.

The lawsuit – filed in federal court in Fort Worth, Texas, where American Airlines is headquartered – alleged that the flight crew was "delayed in responding" to Greenidge's medical episode.

The lawsuit claims that crewmembers "eventually attempted to use" the plane's automated external defibrillator, but they were "either unable to properly operate the machine or the machine did not function properly."

The suit alleges that the crew was not properly trained on how to use the type of AED that was on the flight.

The flight made an emergency landing in Cancun, Mexico. Greenidge was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The New York Post reported that Kevin had been diagnosed with asthma and type 2 diabetes prior to his death, and that his primary cause of death was listed as "myocardial infarction" — commonly known as a heart attack.

The lawsuit claims that Greenidge's chances of survival would have "vastly" increased if the flight had a functioning AED that the crew knew how to use.

"After Kevin died, I never heard from American Airlines," Arzu said. "It made me feel hopeless. I want answers from American Airlines. I want American Airlines to take full responsibility for Kevin’s death. I never want this to happen to a child or family again."

American Airlines told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram: "Our thoughts are with Mr. Greenridge’s loved ones. We are going to decline further comment given this matter involves pending litigation."

Hannah Crowe, the attorney representing Arzu, said, "The loss of a child is truly unimaginable, and the facts of this case are horrendous. Multiple eyewitnesses confirm that American Airlines flight personnel were slow to respond and not able to operate the AED machine, which appeared not to work."

Crowe alleged, "After Kevin died, the equipment went missing. Did someone at American intentionally destroy it? Is it defective, but back out in service? These are all really serious violations of the federal laws that are in place to protect passengers."

The lawsuit also claims that American Airlines failed to submit an advance payment of $113,100 for the sudden death of the teen, as per the company’s policy regarding the death of a passenger while on board.

Indiana mother of two, 41, dies suddenly on diverted American Airlines flight from Dominican Republic

An Indiana mother of two died suddenly after falling ill on an American Airlines flight headed to the United States that was forced to be diverted.

The unidentified 41-year-old woman was traveling on Wednesday from Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, on American Airlines Flight 2790 to Charlotte, North Carolina. The woman became violently ill during the flight.

Shortly after 6 p.m., the woman from central Indiana was given CPR on the commercial airplane. The plane was diverted to the Providenciales International Airport on the Caribbean island of Turks and Caicos for emergency medical help.

However, the woman suddenly died, according to police.

"A medical team, along with police units, were dispatched, and the patient was transported to Cheshire Hall Medical Centre, where she died," the Royal Turks and Caicos Island Police Force said in a press release.

Turks and Caicos authorities said a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of the woman's sudden death.

American Airlines told Fox News that the flight flew to Charlotte the following day.

According to the outlet, a woman on Facebook identified the passenger as her sister-in-law.

"This was my sister-in-law," said the woman from Indiana named Stephanie Quinn. "We are in disbelief and our hearts are breaking."

"The only girl out of 5 siblings, so you can imagine how protected she was by those boys," Quinn alleged. "Mother of 2 beautiful children with big hearts and straight A's at school. Now my nephew won't have his mom at his graduation in May."

Quinn wrote to the Royal Turks and Caicos Island Police Force, "She is still down there so please take good care of her as she ventures home."

Aspiring world-class dancer, 25, dies after eating mislabeled cookies; sudden death said to be '100% preventable and avoidable'

An aspiring world-class dancer died suddenly after eating cookies that were mislabeled. The attorney for the deceased professional dancer said her sudden death was "100% preventable and avoidable."

Órla Baxendale moved to New York City from the United Kingdom six years ago "to pursue her dream career as a world-class dancer," according to a statement released by the attorney representing the grieving family.

However, tragedy struck on Jan. 11, when she suffered a fatal allergic reaction to eating cookies that were mislabeled.

Baxendale was reportedly performing in Connecticut, where she consumed a cookie purchased from a Stew Leonard's grocery store.

Baxendale allegedly suffers from a severe nut allergy, so, she is said to have checked the ingredients of the cookie before she ate it.

"Made sure there wasn't anything in terms of peanuts on the label. There wasn't, so safely, she thought, she had a bite or two of the cookie, and within a minute started to go into anaphylactic shock," said Marijo Adimey — an attorney representing the family.

Baxendale purportedly ate vanilla Florentine cookies from Stew Leonard's — which are said to have peanuts in them.

On Thursday, Stew Leonard's — which is working with the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection — announced that approximately 500 Florentine cookies sold had been recalled.

The cookies were allegedly only sold between Nov. 6 and Dec. 31, 2023, at the Stew Leonard’s grocery stores in Danbury and Newington, Connecticut.

"The cookies contain undeclared peanuts and eggs," Stew Leonard's said in a statement. "People with an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts or eggs run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. One death has been reported that may be associated with the mislabeled product."

Stew Leonard Jr. said, "We're just devastated, very sad. It was a holiday cookie... we bought it from an outside supplier, and unfortunately this supplier changed the recipe and started going from soy nuts to peanuts."

Baxendale's allergy to peanuts was so severe that she allegedly "carried EpiPens wherever she went."

"Órla's family, devastated by this unimaginable loss, wishes to express their gratitude for the outpouring of support and tributes from around the world," the lawyers said, according to WNBC-TV. "She was a radiant and brave soul who pursued her dreams relentlessly, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew her."

"Our thoughts and sympathies go out to the family, friends, and the global dance community mourning the loss of this extraordinary individual," the statement added.

The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in Manhattan said in a statement on Thursday:

The Ailey School is deeply saddened by the untimely passing of alumna Órla Baxendale. Órla was born and raised in Manchester UK and moved to New York in 2018 to join the Ailey family as a Scholarship student. Since then, she had become an integral part of the New York dance world, pursuing her passion, shining her bright light, and doing what she loved most. She danced with numerous companies and choreographers, most recently as a member of MOMIX. Her loss will be profoundly felt by her friends, colleagues, and all who knew her. We will remember her for her joyful spirit and boundless talent. Our thoughts are with her family at this devastating time.

The family said, "She was a radiant and brave soul who pursued her dreams relentlessly, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew her."

Officials from the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection and the Connecticut Department of Public Health are investigating the fatal incident.

DCP Food Commissioner Bryan Cafferelli stated, "This is a heartbreaking tragedy that should never have happened. DCP Food Investigators are working hard with the Department of Public Health, local health departments, officials in New York State and New Jersey, the Food and Drug Administration and Stew Leonard's to determine how this error happened and prevent a similar tragedy from occurring in the future. Our condolences go out to the family affected by this incident."

"Correct labeling so that people who have food allergies can appropriately protect themselves is of utmost importance. I am devastated to learn of this incident and will work with partners to ensure that we can protect people with food allergies. I cannot stress enough the importance of food allergy awareness so that an avoidable tragedy like this doesn't happen again," said DPH Commissioner Dr. Manisha Juthani. "We will continue to work with all our partners — including restaurants and retailers — to provide education on the dangers of food allergens so that best practices are being followed for the safety of the residents of Connecticut."

Adimey said, "Her death was completely, 100% preventable and avoidable. It's why packaging is so important. Her death was completely, 100% preventable and avoidable. It's why packaging is so important."

Jesse Jane – a pornographic movie star who also appeared in "Entourage" and "The Bad Girls Club" – died suddenly at age 43.

The porn star – whose real name was Cynthia Ann Howell– was found unresponsive around 11 a.m. on Wednesday at her home in Moore, Oklahoma. Jane's boyfriend, Brett Hasenmueller, was also found unresponsive inside the residence after police officers responded to a welfare check.

Investigators said no foul play is suspected.

Lt. Francisco Franco of the Moore Police Department told the New York Times that investigators suspect the couple suddenly died from a drug overdose.

The sudden deaths remain under investigation and the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner will determine their causes of death.

Jane is survived by her son, who was reportedly born in 2000.

Now, no one makes money like they did back then even with toy deals and appearances."

UK's worst ever baby serial killer found guilty of killing 7 newborns and attempted murder of 6 others; neonatal nurse wrote dark notes

On Friday, a British neonatal nurse was found guilty of murdering seven newborns and the attempted murder of six other babies. The nurse is the most prolific child serial killer in modern British history.

Lucy Letby, 33, pleaded not guilty to all 22 charges against her. However, a jury of seven women and four men deliberated for 22 days before handing down the guilty verdict at Manchester Crown Court on Friday.

Letby was found guilty of the seven murders and six charges of attempted murder. The jury could not reach verdicts on six counts of attempted murder in connection to four babies.

Following her conviction, the victims' families released a joint statement: "To lose a baby is a heartbreaking experience that no parent should have to go through. But to lose a baby or have a baby harmed in these circumstances is unimaginable."

While working as a neonatal nurse at Countess of Chester Hospital between June 2015 and June 2016, Letby killed seven infants — five boys and two girls. In that time, there was a significant increase in newborns who suffered from severe collapses or died suddenly.

GB News reported, "She used various ways to harm the babies, including injecting air into the bloodstream, injecting air into the stomach, overfeeding with milk, physical assaults, and poisoning with insulin."

Letby, who was in her 20s at the time of the murders, allegedly made multiple attempts to kill some of the babies.

Letby was reportedly the only member of the nursing staff who was on duty each time a child collapsed. Yet, she was not removed from the neonatal ward until the deaths of two triplet boys and another baby boy collapsed on three successive days in June 2016.

In September 2016, Letby filed a grievance against her employers after she was removed from the hospital’s neonatal unit.

According to CNN, "Later that year, she was notified of the allegations against her by the Royal College of Nursing union, but the complaint was later resolved in her favor. Doctors were asked to formally apologize to Letby in writing."

Letby was scheduled to return to the neonatal ward in March 2017, but that never occurred. Instead, hospital officials notified the police, who then opened an investigation into the suspicious and sudden deaths of children.

Letby was arrested in July 2018, then again in June 2019, and for a final time in November 2020. Letby was denied bail in the third arrest.

Police searched the nurse's home and discovered dark, handwritten notes. Letby allegedly wrote, "I don’t deserve to live. I killed them on purpose because I’m not good enough to care for them."

"I am a horrible evil person. I am evil I did this," she purportedly wrote.

Prosecutor Nick Johnson described Letby as a "calculated opportunist" who used the vulnerabilities of premature and sick babies to hide her wicked actions. Johnson told the courtroom that Letby is a "cold, cruel and relentless" nurse with disturbing "voyeuristic tendencies" which would cause her to search the social media postings by parents of the children whom she attacked.

Senior investigating officer Detective Superintendent Paul Hughes said of the six-year investigation: "This has been an investigation like no other – in scope, complexity, and magnitude. We had to deal with this as 17 separate investigations – we are normally used to dealing with one murder or attempted murder investigation at a time let alone something on this scale."

There were nearly 70 officers and civilians working together at the height of the investigation.

Letby will be sentenced at Manchester Crown Court on August 21.

Professional basketball player dies suddenly of heart attack, 28-year-old previously blamed COVID vaccines for myocarditis after collapsing on court

A professional Dominican basketball player reportedly died suddenly this week from a heart attack. Óscar Cabrera Adames had previously collapsed on the court during the game and subsequently blamed the COVID vaccine for his "damn myocarditis."

Cabrera collapsed on the court during a game in December 2021, when he was 26 years old. He fainted during the game in Spain and was transported to a local hospital.

"Óscar Cabrera, a Dominican player who is part of the Cantbasket club, is under observation at the Valdecilla Hospital, after suffering a syncope during the EBA League game that the Cantabrian team played against CB Santurzi, which led to the suspension of the match in the absence of 2.49 minutes for the conclusion of the first quarter," the report stated.

Fox News reported, "Following his death, social media posts surfaced in which Cabrera Adames suggested he developed the rare heart disease after he received two doses of a COVID vaccine."

Óscar Cabrera Adames allegedly wrote in a previous post on Instagram, "I got a damn myocarditis from taking a f***ing vaccine. (I got 2 doses of Pfizer) And I knew it! Many people warned me."

Cabrera said the COVID-19 vaccine was a requirement for him to play professional basketball, and that he had no pre-existing health conditions.

"But guess what? It was compulsory or I couldn’t work. I am an international professional athlete and I am playing in Spain," he reportedly said. "I have no health problem, nothing, not hereditary, no asthma, NOTHING! I suddenly collapsed to the ground in the middle of a match and almost died. I’m still recovering and I’ve had 11 different cardiology tests done and guess? They find nothing."

He purportedly added, "I have no cholesterol, no fat, nothing! 7% body fat 93% muscle. When they give me the diagnosis, they tell me that I won’t be able to play for at least 5 months until my heart goes down again and they can’t give me that medicine."

According to the American Heart Association, "Myocarditis is a serious though rare condition where inflammation develops in the myocardium, or middle muscular layer of the heart wall. Myocarditis can weaken the heart and its electrical system. As a result, the heart’s ability to pump blood declines. The condition may be acute and resolve quickly. Or it may be chronic, lasting longer than two weeks. In severe cases, myocarditis may lead to stroke, heart attack, heart failure or death."

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said, "Cases of myocarditis and pericarditis have rarely been observed following receipt of COVID-19 vaccines used in the United States. Evidence from multiple monitoring systems in the United States and around the globe support a causal association between mRNA COVID-19 vaccines (i.e., Moderna or Pfizer-BioNTech) and myocarditis and pericarditis."

Citing a study, NBC News reported last month, "An overactive immune response to the mRNA COVID vaccines may be the culprit in rare cases of heart inflammation seen in some young men after they receive the shot."

On Thursday, Cabrera suddenly died at age 28 while reportedly undergoing a stress test at a health center in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Dominican sports commentator Héctor Gómez said of Cabrera's sudden death on Instagram, "Basketball player Óscar Cabrera has just died of a heart attack while performing a stress test, at the age of 28."

Outkick reported, "During the test, a medical professional attaches electrodes to the patient’s chest. These electrodes connect to a machine that records the electrical activity of the heart (ECG). By watching this screen, doctors can record the heartbeat while the patient exercises. But this stress test was too much for Cabrera, and it caused a heart attack."
