On-duty Boston cop gets hurt barreling down massive slide, while his equipment flies: 'Oh f***'

An on-duty Boston Police officer injured himself while taking a tumble down a giant metal slide at Boston's City Hall Plaza.

The new slide is a popular spot for kids, according to the Boston Globe, where children have to climb three levels of obstacles in order to get to the steep, metallic contraption.

This endeavor was not too difficult for a local Boston cop, however, but it did reveal that the slide is indeed dangerous for adults. Signs at the playground reportedly say that the slide is “not intended for adult use” and should only be used by kids ages 5-12, according to the New York Post.

In the video posted to Twitter and TikTok, loud banging is heard from inside the tube slide, later revealed to be the officer flying down the metal slide face-down. The officer makes contact with the bottom of the slide before skidding to a stop on the rubber playground surface below.

What appeared to be the cop's pepper spray, handcuffs, and radio fly off of his body, although the radio remained attached by its cord. He is then heard saying "Oh f***" while he gathers himself to his feet.

A Boston Police spokesman confirmed the video as well as the reported minor injuries that followed from the incident.

"He was on duty, he used his own private insurance, and he didn't miss any time," the spokesman told TheBlaze.

Online reactions ranged from laughter to disappointment that the officer was partaking in stunts while on duty.

"Good to see them hard at work," said one viewer.

"What was he doing there?" asked another woman.

Former NHL player and podcaster Ryan Whitney reportedly had posted the video, but said he took it down after he was begged to remove it.

"I just deleted what I think is one of the funniest videos of all time. I was begged to take it down. Sad," Whitney wrote.

Other adults have been injured trying to complete the feat of the children's slide. One woman posted a TikTok video of her coming out of the tube face-first as well, resulting in a head injury of her own.

'I am, in fact, indoctrinating your children': High school educator sneers at parents concerned about 'woke agenda'

A so-called literacy coach near Chicago is testing the bounds of her free speech rights by creating several videos in which she rails against concerned parents and other "right-wing conspiracy theorist nut jobs" and then posting the condescending videos to TikTok.

Heather Marie Godbout, whose job title claims she is a "literacy coach" at Crete-Monee High School, has posted a series of education-related videos on TikTok under the handle @thatliberaleducator. In various videos, she excoriates conservatives as "people who could know better if they could get out of their own little bubbles" and accuses them of "trying to bring down our democracy and create a Christian nationalist theocracy."

In one particular video, which has the phrase "Indoctrination? Yes please!" emblazoned at the top and which is replete with furrowed brows and audible lip smacks, she claims that it's "[t]ime to own up to" indoctrinating students.

"All you right wing conspiracy theory nut jobs who seem to think the teachers are out here just indoctrinating children into some sort of woke agenda that you can’t actually define, I’m just going to come clean," Godbout begins.

"I am, in fact, indoctrinating your children," she admits.

She then spends another minute or so clarifying what her version of indoctrination entails.

"I'm indoctrinating children into understanding their own agency and learning how to think critically about the issues that impact their lives," she says after claiming to foster a love of "reading and books."

She then appears to have a clarifying moment of self-awareness when she claims to teach students to "not just accept whatever some crazy person on the internet says at face value" but to "do their own research."

She concludes the video by claiming that her work teaches students "to be loving, kind, compassionate human beings" who will make the world "a better place." She implies that she presents herself to students as a living model of such behavior.

When viewers criticized Godbout's condescending approach, she created a follow-up video in which she said she will always refuse to be respectful to people who disagree with her politically — whom she derisively refers to as "those people" — because "they're talking about legislation that will literally unlive people." She also accused one of her critics of "tone-policing" and of shutting "down conversation, especially from people in marginalized groups."

Godbout elsewhere stated that she does not fear reprisal from her employer for the videos, claiming, "[M]y administrators fully support my First Amendment rights to free speech on my own social media platforms."

Nonbinary teacher complains about people failing to use they/them pronouns in emails: 'I got really, really tired of people using the wrong pronouns'

Libs of TikTok, which specializes in reposting videos of leftists spewing radical ideology, has shared a video in which an individual who uses they/them pronouns expresses frustration about people failing to utilize their desired pronouns.

The video appears to have been posted on TikTok last year by an individual named Mx. Lane Cogdill — Cogdill's description on TikTok includes the terms "nonbinary" and "pan/bi," and also says "alternative teacher."

"So last week I got really, really tired of people using the wrong pronouns ... in emails, um, despite how many times I've explained it to everyone I work with" as well as "everyone I know," Cogdill said.

"I've had Mx. Lane Cogdill in my email signature in like 24-point font for the past like three years and pronouns they/them right underneath it in like 20-point font for the past like three years," Cogdill said, adding that "it's in bright purple and you just can't miss it. Besides that, I have a hard time believing with everything I've already been through that anybody really doesn't know my pronouns."

Cogdill then went on to report having added a link into the email signature that directs to a webpage about how to utilize the pronouns.

Cogdill's TikTok post contained several hashtags, some of which included, "#nonbinarypride," #teachersoftiktok," "#lgbtqteacher," and "#protecttranskids."

Cultural debate continues to rage over issues related to radical leftist gender ideology, and Libs of TikTok frequently posts content related to the topic.

"This is the definition of first world problems," one person wrote in response to the Libs of TikTok tweet that included Cogdill's video.

"So, so, so annoying," someone else tweeted.

"The utter Arrogance of them expecting us to do exactly as they say. Who they hell do they think they are? Oh & THEY/THEM is Plural," another tweet declared.
