Leftists should feel free to shun pro-Trump family over holidays for 'mental health,' Yale psychiatry resident tells Joy Reid

Leftists this holiday season should feel free to stay away from family and friends who voted for President-elect Donald Trump in order to take care of their "mental health," a Yale psychiatry resident told MSNBC host Joy Reid on Friday.

Reid asked Dr. Amanda Calhoun, “How do you interact with people who you know voted for this? If you are an LGBTQ person and know someone in your family voted essentially against your rights, or you’re a woman knowing this man was calling people the B-word. [Vice President-elect] JD Vance was literally calling Kamala Harris 'the trash' and said we’re going to take out 'the trash.' I know a lot of black women were incredibly triggered by that."

'And if you feel like you need to establish boundaries with people, whether they're your family or not, I think you should very much be entitled to do so.'

Reid continued, "And if you then meet somebody, and you know they voted for the people who called you trash, or if you’re Puerto Rican ... and you know someone voted that way, do you recommend just from a psychological standpoint being around them? We got the holidays coming up.”

Calhoun replied that there is a "societal" expectation that "if somebody is your family that they are entitled to your time. And I think the answer is absolutely not. So if you are going to a situation where you have family members, where you have close friends who you know have voted in ways that are against you — like what you said, against your livelihood — and it's completely fine to not be around those people and to tell them why. You know, to say, 'I have a problem with the way that you voted because it went against my very livelihood, and I’m not gonna be around you this holiday. I need to take some space for me.'"

Calhoun added that she doesn't believe anyone should be forced "to be around people just because they're your family. ... And if you feel like you need to establish boundaries with people, whether they're your family or not, I think you should very much be entitled to do so. And I think it may be essential for your mental health.”

Joy Reid appears to liken Trump to Adolf Hitler — and Trump voters to Hitler supporters

Joy Reid, host of MSNBC's "The ReidOut," on Wednesday appeared to liken former President Donald Trump to Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler — and even Trump voters to Hitler supporters.

What are the details?

Reid — who smeared "white Christians" for their Trump support amid the Iowa caucuses Monday night — featured a segment on her program titled, "Trump's Revenge & Retribution Agenda."

It began with Reid calling out Trump's "vendetta politics" before running clips of Trump saying to campaign crowds, "Because in the end they're not coming after me, they're coming after you, and I'm just standing in their way, here I am, I'm standing in their way, and I always will be. ... I am your warrior, I am your justice, and for those who have been wronged and betrayed, I am your retribution, I am your retribution ..."

Reid then came back on-screen and added, "It’s a vengeance tour this time around. ... We talk about Trump all the time, we also need to talk about his voters. And I know, I know, it’s not popular in the media world to not venerate the great American voter. But as Tom Nichols writes in the Atlantic, these particular voters want revenge as well — on their fellow citizens. Nichols writes, ‘The Republican base actively embraces Trump's grievances. It emulates his pettiness. It supports his childlike inability to accept responsibility. These voters are not sighing in resignation and voting for the lesser of two or three or four evils. They are getting what they want. Because they, too, are set on revenge.'”

With that she engaged in a conversation with guest Jelani Cobb, dean of Columbia University School of Journalism, and Reid soon appeared to liken Trump to Hitler and Trump voters to Hitler's supporters.

"I want to talk about the media’s role in all of this," Reid told Cobb.

"I go to the 1930s when the New York Times was doing style pieces on Adolf Hitler and saying, 'Oh, he's gonna moderate himself when he gets into office and actual power is in his hands.' I feel like that's happening again because people don’t want to come at the voter. But these voters are actively saying, 'Yes, we want a dictatorship. Yes, we want him to be dictator. Yes, we like autocracy.' And it’s just not being examined.”

'Very creepy': DNC adviser slammed as 'sexist' for suggesting Lauren Boebert do porn if she loses her House seat, MSNBC host Joy Reid bursts into laughter

An MSNBC contributor is being blasted as a "sexist" for suggesting that Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert do porn if she loses her seat in the House.

During Wednesday night's episode of "The ReidOut," MSNBC host Joy Reid discussed the 2022 midterm elections with former Democratic Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill and DNC adviser Kurt Bardella.

The trio were thrilled that Boebert was locked in a tight race with Democrat Adam Frisch. At the time of publication, Frisch was leading Boebert by just 64 votes, with 98% of the votes counted, in the race for Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District.

Reid asked her guests, "What's the meaning if Lauren Boebert – the second most popular QAnon Congressperson in MAGA – what if she goes, what if she loses?"

Reid added, "And what job will she have? I don't even think Shooters exists any more."

Boebert previously owned the gun-themed restaurant Shooters Grill in Rifle, Colorado. The restaurant closed in July after a new landlord did not renew the lease for Shooters Grill.

Bardella proclaimed that Boebert would transition from congresswoman to a performer on OnlyFans – an adult website that features pornographic content.

"I guess it might be a gain for OnlyFans," Bardella stated. "I don’t know what she would do in this scenario."

The remark delighted Reid and sent her into a laughing, wheezing outburst.

McCaskill's jaw dropped in reaction to Bardella's comment.

Bardella said of Boebert's potential loss, "I think that symbolically to take out one of the poster childs of the MAGA movement – someone who has been an absolute disgrace to the office that she holds – would be a great feather in the cap. And would, I think, cement the fact that this has been an absolute unmitigated disaster for the MAGA wing of the Republican Party."

Bardella – a former publicist for Breitbart and the Daily Caller as well as a former senior adviser to the Lincoln Project – was slammed as a "sexist" in reactions on Twitter. Many online commentators decried hypocrisy and believed that there would be a far greater backlash if Bardella made the same comment against a Democrat politician.

Conservative commentator CJ Pearson: "So misogyny is ok, as long as it’s exclusively directed towards conservative women?"

Author Jim Hanson: "The shameless misogyny of the tolerant Left."

Reporter Alex Salvi: "Very creepy and misogynistic."

Independent journalist Glenn Greenwald: "Demeaning, creepy, sexualized things you get to say about female politicians if you're doing so for the right cause and on the right liberal channel. Pick your most beloved liberal politician and imagine the uproar if this were said about them on Fox while the host giggled."

Writer Carmine Sabia: "If @KurtBardella was a Republican, @JoyAnnReid was on Fox News and Lauren Boebert was a Democrat people would be fired, apologies would be made and it would be a national news story. This is abhorrent."

Columnist David Harsanyi: "If this was a Republican, The Atlantic would have to dedicate an entire issue to the dark misogynistic heart of the party."

Former Trump adviser Jenna Ellis: "Gross. @kurtbardella is a pervert. If anyone had suggested this about Tiffany Cross when she was fired, the Left would have whined racism, sexism, misogyny. So maybe everyone just stop suggesting women do porn altogether, regardless of race or party?"

Entrepreneur Alok Bhatt: "Liberal privilege again at display - thanks to which this democrat strategist @kurtbardella, will get away with this utterly sexist remark!"

Journalist Brad Polumbo: "I am a big critic of Boebert, but this is sexist and demeaning. She ran a successful business before Congress."

Investigative reporter Chuck Ross: "I hope MSNBC keeps @kurtbardella on air because he’s a clown and he amuses me, but hard to see how they justify keeping him on after this when they just got rid of a black female show host for lack of 'standards.'"

Conservative commentator Kurt Schlichter: "Remember that much of the hatred of conservativism is cheesy class snobbery by mediocre people who have nothing but their ridiculous 'elite' status."

Reporter Tatjana Pasalic: "I am not a fan of Boebert at all but this is just disgusting trash. Why is misogyny like this OK on national TV? Shame on these two women giggling at the OnlyFans comment. Such feminism. Much wow. Gross."

Former Democratic Congressional candidate Alexandra M. Hunt: "I can’t stand Boebert, but this sexism isn’t cute. There’s no shame to having an OnlyFans. @kurtbardella do better."

'Racist' Joy Reid gets ruthlessly mocked for screeching falsehoods about Roe v. Wade

MSNBC's Joy Reid is at it again. In the wake of the Supreme Court's draft opinion on Roe v. Wade, Reid is at the front of the line screeching falsehoods about abortion, the Constitution, and forcing women to give birth. Fortunately, Mark is here to set the record straight and tell Joy Reid to sit down.

BlazeTV host Mark Levin of "LevinTV" made an example of Joy Reid, naming her as "one of the leading racists on television today." Reid spews her poison against Justice Sam Alito with ignorance and hate in Mark's view.

In this clip, Mark reacts to a clip from Reid's show discussing the so-called "frightening truth about where we are headed post-Roe v. Wade." Mark's most important point is that the Supreme Court ruled it has no say in how the States handle abortion laws. Watch the video for Mark's merciless takedown of Reid.

'Extraordinary': guest of MSNBC’s Joy Reid turns out to be 'worse than Joy Reid'

'Content advisory warning: What you’re about to see is pure bulls**t'

Elitists, leftists, and the corporate media (which are totally not the same thing at all) are in full attack mode towards Elon Musk. The guy that has come out in support of truth, transparency, and freedom is who the corporate press is now telling you is the bad guy.

"My strong intuitive sense is that having a public platform that is maximally trusted & broadly inclusive is extremely important to the future of civilization," Musk said at a TED conference last week.

As the brains of all who oppose the horrors of honesty and freedom were rattled across social media, the absurdity has been just as intense on national television since Musk first purchased Twitter stock. BlazeTV host Dave Rubin of “The Rubin Report” discussed the inane ramblings of a guest who appeared on Joy Reid’s MSNBC show – Anand Giridharadas – whom Rubin deemed was “actually worse than her.”

Rubin played the clip of Giridharadas speaking on Reid's show “The ReidOut" but not before issuing a warning to those tuning in to his program:

"Content advisory warning: What you’re about to see is pure bulls**t"

Now that's a warning.

“Musk has built his business to government subsidies, years ago, and now turns around, stiffs the government on taxes, explains how inefficient government spending is,” Giridharadas began in the clip. Then, it actually grew worse, as he seemed to imply Musk was actually motivated by feelings related to racism.

“He is building in Tesla, a documentedly racist company, that perhaps reminds him, gives him nostalgic memories, of apartheid South Africa where he grew up,” Giridharadas said.

Disgusted? So was Rubin.

“To find a guest that is worse than Joy Reid is a rather extraordinary thing to do,” Rubin stated. “Somebody should get an award. Can we send them a cake?”

This is how the machine operates around people trying to have an honest conversation, who are trying to have a place to talk where there’s a little messiness on the fringes, where we can think for ourselves, Rubin added in his episode. This isn’t new behavior. It’s EXACTLY the same thing they tried to do to Joe Rogan earlier this year all because he was willing to have open conversations with certain figures who were not on the establishment’s pre-approved list.

Perhaps when it comes to watching anything corporate media is throwing at you, it's best to take the Dave Rubin approach by stopping to ask yourself: Is what I’m viewing “pure bulls**t?”

MSNBC's Joy Reid blasts NFL for trying to 'sanitize' blackness despite wildly successful hip-hop halftime show

MSNBC’s Joy Reid blasted the NFL, saying that the league tried to "sanitize blackness" for Sunday's Super Bowl.

What are the details?

During Monday's broadcast of "The ReidOut," Reid took aim at the NFL for its "sport with a lot of black people in it" — but "not black people with power."

The show opened with a discussion about rapper Eminem's Super Bowl halftime appearance, which he concluded by kneeling in apparent nod to former NFL player turned activist Colin Kaepernick's police brutality protests.

Reid — wearing a pro-Kaepernick football jersey — said that while she noted the rapper's "performative" gesture, the league itself is suppressing "blackness."

"I wasn't particularly moved by [the rapper's kneeling] one way or another, it's that kind of performative change," she said. "If somebody had come out on stage and Colin Kaepernick had been dressed as one of the dancers who came out, or shout-out to Brian Flores, then I would have thought that would have been a bigger impact. At this point, taking a knee is not nearly as provocative as it was five years ago."

Reid added that the NFL is only aiming to "sanitize blackness" in order to keep the peace with its conservative fan base.

"The NFL has always tried to sanitize blackness, especially during the Super Bowl, from the halftime performances to players taking a knee, and it especially does not want to dabble in the culture wars now and tick off the conservative fan base," Reid complained.

Guest Jason Johnson interjected, "Which explains why [rapper] Kendrick Lamar’s line ‘and we hate the popo’ was noticeably scrubbed last night."

Reid added that she no longer has love for football over allegations of racism in the league.

"I fell out of love with the game because it just became very clear that this was a sport with a lot of black people in it but not black people with power," she said. "No coaches, very few people allowed to get into the quarterback spot. And that coach thing really hurts my spirit, and it’s difficult for me to love the game. Anything that these guys do that is disruptive, I’m for it."

What else?

President Joe Biden on Sunday made similar remarks, claiming that the league should be concerned over a lack of black coaches — two out of 32 NFL coaches are black — in the sport.

He told NBC's Lester Holt that the NFL ought to work to remedy the racial imbalance and promote coaching equity and diversity.

"The whole idea that a league that is made up of so many athletes of color, as well as so diverse, that there's not enough African-American qualified coaches to quote, 'to manage,' these NFL teams, it just seems to me that it's a standard that they'd want to live up to," Biden said, calling for a semblance of "generic decency."
