Whoopi Goldberg slams Meghan Markle for whining about 'bimbo' gig, making 'other women feel bad'

Whoopi Goldberg ripped into Meghan Markle for complaining that she felt “objectified” and “reduced to a bimbo” during one of her first jobs as a "briefcase girl" on NBC's “Deal or No Deal.”

"I just want to say that on that show you basically had a suitcase, and they wanted to know: Is this the deal you want, or is this not the deal you want? I don’t know that the people who are sitting there are thinking about you like [a bimbo.] They’re thinking, 'I want the money,'" Goldberg said on "The View."

Goldberg was referencing the Duchess of Sussex's recent comments on her podcast "Archetypes with Meghan," during which she and fellow super-brainiac Paris Hilton took themselves very, very seriously and complained about how the rest of the world has not always done likewise.

"I was surrounded by smart women on that stage with me, but that wasn't the focus of why we were there," Markle lamented. "I would end up leaving with this pit in my stomach knowing that I was so much more than what was being objectified on the stage. I didn't like being forced to be all looks and little substance, and that's how it felt for me at the time — being reduced to this specific archetype: the word 'bimbo.'"

According to Goldberg, Markle just might have been complaining about nothing and should perhaps have been grateful to have "the gig."

"The objectification might have come from you and how you felt about how these women were being portrayed," Goldberg suggested.

"We’re performers. When you’re a performer, you take the gig. You take the gig, sometimes you're in a bozo suit, sometimes you got a big nose, and this is just the way it is ... we're actors," she continued.

Goldberg went on to add, "My point is, if you see it and that's how you feel, just maybe you don't want to make the other women feel bad because maybe they're not, you know, maybe they're trying to make a living, too."

'We will pass on this offer': DeSantis deputy press secretary rejects request for the Florida governor to appear on 'The View'

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis's office has rejected an invitation for the governor to appear on "The View," a television show with hosts who have openly bashed the Republican.

"@TheView emailed our office on Friday asking for us to arrange an appearance from Governor DeSantis on the show. 'We would be honored,' they wrote," according to Bryan Griffin, deputy press secretary for DeSantis.

Griffin posted a screenshot of a note in which he rejected the media request.

"Thanks for the invite. I understand that you are sending this request on behalf of your team," Griffin wrote. "But are the hosts of the View really interested in hearing from Governor DeSantis about all of the important work he is doing on behalf of Floridians to protect their health and livelihoods, to stand up for parents and children, and to defend freedom? Which of the below statements from the hosts of the View do you recommend our team consider when deciding if the interview will be a genuine pursuit of the truth? Or worth the time?"

Griffin went on to include several quotes from the show's hosts, including one in which Joy Behar described DeSantis as "a negligent, homicidal sociopath" who risked people's lives in order to "appeal to his white supremacist base ... and get reelected." Another one of the quotes highlighted Sunny Hostin calling the governor "Death-Santis" and describing him as "a fascist and a bigot."

"We will pass on this offer," Griffin wrote. "Also please note — we don't coordinate appearances or events of a political nature from the official office. Our role is to serve the people of Florida."

Replying to Griffin's post, DeSantis press secretary Christina Pushaw tweeted, "Perfect. There is nothing that infuriates liberals more than seeing their own insane words repeated back to them in black and white."

"This is spectacular!" Megyn Kelly tweeted.

"This may be one of the greatest emails ever composed," Erick Erickson declared.

"A missed opportunity, IMO," Breitbart senior editor-at-large Joel Pollak remarked. "DeSantis would have had the opportunity to speak directly to a skeptical audience."

DeSantis, who has become an enormously popular figure on the political right, is seeking another term in office this year.

"Liberal media wants to interview Governor DeSantis because his popularity draws ratings," Pushaw tweeted. "But @GovRonDeSantis will not assist failing legacy media outlets in growing an audience for their smear pieces & biased reporting laden with contempt for Americans."

'The View' wants to 'get rid of Republicans,' calls GOP the 'party of white supremacy' and 'massacres'

"The View's" Sunny Hostin said she wants to "get rid of Republicans," and even went so far as to call the GOP a "party of white supremacy ... of insurrectionists, the party of massacres"

During a conversation about the tragic mass shootings, Hostin said she agreed with co-host Joy Behar about Republicans and gun reform.

“Republicans get in lockstep against gun safety because all they care about is power," Hostin ranted. "All anyone’s talking about, even with red flag laws, is temporarily taking guns away. It’s a minor solution. The solution here, as Whoopi [Goldberg] has said all week, get the AR-15s off the planet, really, in my view," she added to enthusiastic applause from the audience.

“Just get rid of bump stocks, get rid of these weapons of war. And it’s not gonna happen with Republicans in power. So I'm now with you, Joy. Get rid of Republicans, get rid of the party," Hostin continued. "Because as the party stands now, it's the party of white supremacy, it's the party of insurrectionists, the party of massacres at this point. It's the party that you can't trust."

On BlazeTV's "Rick & Bubba Show," co-hosts Rick Burgess and Bubba Bussey discussed the outrage and calls for cancellation that would have followed if anyone on the right had made a similarly "outrageous" and "irresponsible" statement about half of the country.

'View' panel explodes as Whoopi Goldberg insists each woman should be able to decide when unborn children begin to have rights

Whoopi Goldberg, co-host of "The View," loudly insisted that each individual woman ought to be able to decide at which point unborn children have rights.

Her remarks came during a heated panel discussion about the Women's Health Protection Act, a bill that would have codified federal abortion rights established by Roe v. Wade, overriding state pro-life laws.

The bill, however, failed to clear the Senate during a Wednesday night vote.

What are the details?

Guest co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin, one-time press secretary for former Vice President Mike Pence, addressed the act and said that a majority share of Americans supports limiting abortion.

Griffin's fellow co-host immediately appeared to bristle at her remarks, and Goldberg in particular immediately went on the offensive.

“This is an uncomfortable conversation we have to have, at what point does a baby in the womb have rights separate from its mother?” Griffin asked before an irate-looking Goldberg interrupted.

She thundered, “Listen, it doesn’t matter what you think — when you think it is. If I don't think that that's when it is —"

Griffin interrupted, “Is that in, is it the ninth month? Is it the third trimester?”

Through the crosstalk — in which co-host Joy Behar insisted that it's "none of your business" — Goldberg fired back, “Listen, I don’t have to tell you — it’s your decision. What you do with your body and how your family works, and for me, I don’t care what your religious beliefs are.”

Griffin pointed out that she wasn't addressing it from a religious standpoint, and instead, was speaking from the point of view of having an "important philosophical debate."

“When does the baby in the womb have rights?” she demanded, but Goldberg refused to bend and instead, went to break rather than have to defend her stance.

You can watch the fiery exchange in the video segment below.
