ActBlue donor arrested for allegedly threatening to torture and slaughter 6 Supreme Court justices

An ActBlue donor shot President Donald Trump on July 13. Another ActBlue donor allegedly attempted to assassinate him on Sunday.

It turns out the Alaska man who was arrested Wednesday for allegedly threatening to torture and slaughter six U.S. Supreme Court justices and some of their family members was also an ActBlue donor with over 80 contributions to the Democratic fundraising outfit to his name.

The Department of Justice announced Thursday that Panos Anastasiou, 76, has been charged with nine counts of making threats against a federal judge and 13 counts of making threats in interstate commerce.

The DOJ refrained from indicating which six justices on the high court — which has a 6-3 conservative majority — were targeted.

"We allege that the defendant made repeated, heinous threats to murder and torture Supreme Court Justices and their families to retaliate against them for decisions he disagreed with," Attorney General Merrick Garland said in a statement. "Our justice system depends on the ability of judges to make their decisions based on the law, and not on fear."

According to the indictment filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Alaska, Anastasiou sent over 465 messages to the Supreme Court through a public website between March 10, 2023, and July 16.

These messages allegedly "contained violent, racist, and homophobic rhetoric coupled with threats of assassination by torture, hanging, and firearms, and encouraged others to participate in the acts of violence."

Six justices on the court certainly angered a great many radicals with their June 2022 decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization.

The indictment noted that some of the threats were intended to intimidate the six unnamed justices and retaliate against them for actions they had taken in their official capacity as federal justices.

Anastasiou allegedly threatened to hang a specific justice from an oak tree, to lynch another, and to kill a third by "putting a bullet in his ... head." He is also accused of threatening to behead, strangle, and/or drown all six, as well as gun down their family members.

Although it's unclear what six justices may have done to draw the ire of the Democratic donor, six justices on the court certainly angered a great many radicals with their June 2022 decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization.

Numerous pro-abortion extremists engaged in hate crimes and terror attacks after the ruling, targeting pro-life pregnancy centers, churches, and individuals.

After a draft of the Dobbs opinion was leaked, Nicholas John Roske of California — who goes on trial next year — was apparently caught near Justice Brett Kavanaugh's house with a gun and a knife and charged with attempted murder.

Roske allegedly claimed he was going to give his life a purpose by killing the justice, reported the Washington Post.

During part of the period that Anastasiou was allegedly making the threats, Democrats in Washington, D.C., were actively attacking those conservative Supreme Court justices who appeared unwilling to give them their desired results in cases related to the 2020 election and the Jan. 6 protests as well as regarding the question of former President Donald Trump's immunity in U.S. v. Donald Trump.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren said in June, "[Justice Samuel] Alito is an extremist who is out of touch with mainstream America. His rising power on the Supreme Court is a threat to our democracy," reported The Hill.

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) tweeted, "Alito answered like a movement activist. Movement activists have their role but it's not on the Supreme Court."

Blaze News previously reported that on the basis of a misleading New York Times story, House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) accused Justice Samuel Alito in May of "sympathizing with right-wing violent insurrectionists."

House Democratic Whip Katherine Clark (D-Mass.) was among the Democrats happy to demonize Alito.

Clark — whose adult son was arrested and charged in January 2023 with assault and battery on a Boston police officer — said in May 23 statement, "Justice Alito has displayed flags at his homes that support insurrection against our government, promote religious nationalism, and attack free and fair elections."

"This is not just another example of extremism that has overtaken conservatism. This is a threat to the rule of law and a serious breach of ethics, integrity, and Justice Alito's oath of office," continued Clark.

This would not be the first time in recent memory that heated Democratic rhetoric resonated with an extremist.

Blaze News previously highlighted that the suspected would-be Trump assassin arrested Sunday directly quoted Democratic rhetoric. Prior to his arrest, Ryan Routh posted about how "DEMOCRACY is on the ballot" this election. This is one of Kamala Harris' go-to lines.

If convicted, then Anastasiou faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison for each of the nine counts of threatening the justices and a maximum penalty of five years in prison for each of the latter 13 counts.

Horowitz: Are most of the ‘new jobs’ really second jobs to afford basic living?

Joe Biden last week celebrated his administration’s job data showing 336,000 new jobs created in September. “That’s Bidenomics,” boasted the president — or whoever posted for him — without any self-awareness of the term. He is absolutely correct that there is something unique about the job creation associated with Bidenomics. At its core, what the term means is that debt and inflation are so uncontrollable that people need to seek out second and third jobs just to afford basic needs.

Thus, Bidenomics is the first system in our history that has actually made “job creation” an ominous economic indicator.

Nobody living in the real world feels the economic momentum that would be associated with such a level of job creation. Indeed, ADP’s more accurate employment report, published two days prior to the Bureau of Labor Statistics report and which only includes private-sector jobs, reported only 89,000 new jobs in September. Furthermore, BLS’ other report, the household survey, showed 86,000 new jobs, almost exactly on target with the non-government ADP report.

So what gives? Is the Biden administration cooking the books with the establishment survey showing 336,000 new jobs? I wouldn’t put it past them, but the truth seems to be laid bare in the detailed numbers between part-time and multiple-job holders in the household survey.

As you can see from the table, not only was there no job growth among full-time jobs, but the numbers actually declined by 22,000 in September and nearly 700,000 since June. That is much more reflective of the economic slowdown we are seeing in the real world, as indicated through the decline in demand for oil.

So where did all the mysterious new jobs come from? An increase in part-time jobs, multiple-job holders, and self-employed workers. The number of part-time workers jumped by 151,000 in September and by a total of more than 1.2 million just since June! Multiple-job holders shot up by 123,000 in September, which makes it very likely that most of the increase in part-time jobs was composed of existing workers taking a second job. That has also been an enduring trend all year. Additionally, the number of self-employed workers grew by 222,000.

In a vacuum, an increase in part-time and multiple-job workers is not a bad thing, but with the fact that the number of full-time workers declined, it demonstrates that this is more out of desperation than profit-seeking. Which means that people are working more not for upward mobility but just to pay the bills. This reality is obvious from the fact that there are a record number of people working two full-time jobs.

Fantastic graphic showing that a record 447,000 Americans are now working 2 full-time jobs.

Meanwhile, part-time employment has jumped by nearly 1.2 MILLION since June.

The number of Americans working 2 full-time jobs is now ~33% higher than it was in 2008.

Americans are…
— The Kobeissi Letter (@The Kobeissi Letter) 1696880572

This is despite the fact that there have been nearly 700,000 fewer full-time jobs over the past three months. So the pie of full-time jobs is actually shrinking, but those fewer people are consuming multiple jobs and also seeking and even creating more part-time jobs, which would explain the rise in the self-employed.

Hence, the Biden administration is celebrating a symptom of a very destructive trend in which obtaining one solid full-time job is no longer enough for a lot of people to afford living. With mortgage rates approaching 8%, car loan interest rates at their highest in 22 years, and credit card interest rates at a record high, perhaps Biden will continue to “create” a greater demand for more jobs within the same shrinking pie rather than growing the pie itself. It’s why total revenue to the Treasury shrank by 9% in fiscal year 2023, with individual payroll taxes plummeting by 17%, despite all the “job creation.” If the job market and wages were growing the way the Biden administration boasts, we’d see record-high tax revenue.

This trend of working longer to earn less to afford fewer items is likely permanent, because the inflation crisis is getting worse. Remember when we hit the $33 trillion debt milestone on September 15? Well, we are already more than halfway to the next trillion in less than a month! The debt now stands at more than $33.5 trillion, while the entire economy is only $25.46 trillion. Just one month of debt will now be higher than any full year in American history until the Great Recession in 2008.

I designed this debt badge to wear in Congress. It uses Wi-Fi to get the debt to the penny from Treasury once per day. I noticed something alarming this week. In three short weeks, the debt has gone up half a trillion dollars and the debt per second has gone from $68K to $75K !!
— Thomas Massie (@Thomas Massie) 1696949995

Adjusting for the student loan bailout, we essentially racked up a $2 trillion deficit this year. That is the quickest debt accumulation without a world war, pandemic, or recession. And those numbers are still built upon much of the debt serviced with low interest rates. Wait until the new debt matures and has to be refinanced at higher rates.

For example, on Tuesday, the Treasury Department auctioned off $46 billion in Treasuries at nearly 4.7% interest. The cost of financing that debt is $6.54 billion. That is 28 times more expensive than the cost of servicing the same amount of debt during COVID three years ago when rates were close to zero. And now rates are surging to 5.5%.

Our government has lost control over the economy, and inflation is off to the races. But fear not, you will be working multiple jobs to pay bills — and nothing more — until you die. Embrace the power of Bidenomics.

Critics pounce on VP Kamala Harris for demanding 'an assault weapons ban'

As the Biden administration persists in advocating for more gun control, Vice President Kamala Harris earned pushback on social media for advocating for an "assault weapons ban."

"Weapons of war have no place on the streets of a civil society. Congress must pass an assault weapons ban. President Biden will sign it," Harris tweeted.

Republican Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky responded by claiming that Harris wants government agencies — but not the American public at large — to possess those firearms.

"Your body guards, and dozens of 'civil' agencies like the USDA, the US Dept. of Ed., and the EPA possess the firearms you are calling weapons of war. The reality is you want every citizen disarmed and every government agency armed with these guns," Massie tweeted.

“Your body guards, and dozens of “civil” agencies like the USDA, the US Dept. of Ed., and the EPA possess the firearms you are calling weapons of war. The reality is you want every citizen disarmed and every government agency armed with these guns.”
— Thomas Massie (@Thomas Massie) 1686866586

Others also pushed back against the vice president's gun control advocacy.

"How about we do an inventory of the weapons your protection team carries? Why would they be entitled to such firearms, but not regular citizens?" Steve Cortes tweeted.

Conservative radio host and Second Amendment advocate Dana Loesch declared, "This republic was founded by free people using weapons of war. They literally made this society. You'll ban nothing and Biden will sign nothing."

"A civil society needs 'weapons of war' because tyrants have historically made societies quite uncivil," attorney Kostas Moros wrote.

Harris was not alone in promoting gun control Thursday on social media. "At a time when guns are the number one killer of kids in America, it shouldn't be this hard to convince Republicans in Congress to keep weapons of war off our streets and to keep guns out of the hands of dangerous people," President Joe Biden tweeted.

The Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution states, "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Massie and other Republicans push bill that would terminate an entire department

Republican Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky has reintroduced a brief bill that would do away with the U.S. Department of Education.

"The Department of Education shall terminate on December 31, 2023," the text of the concise measure reads.

Massie contends that there is no constitutional authority for the existence of the department. "I have introduced a bill to terminate the Department of Education. There is no Constitutional authority for this federal bureaucracy to exist," Massie tweeted.

“I have introduced a bill to terminate the Department of Education.

There is no Constitutional authority for this federal bureaucracy to exist.”
— Thomas Massie (@Thomas Massie) 1676379290

The measure, which has been put forward in the past as well, is unlikely to pass because even if it clears the House where Republicans hold the majority, it will likely stall in the Senate.

"Unelected bureaucrats in Washington, D.C. should not be in charge of our children's intellectual and moral development," Massie said, according to a press release. "States and local communities are best positioned to shape curricula that meet the needs of their students. Schools should be accountable. Parents have the right to choose the most appropriate educational opportunity for their children, including home school, public school, or private school."

Massie's press release lists GOP Reps. Andy Biggs of Arizona, Dan Bishop of North Carolina, Lauren Boebert of Colorado, Eric Burlison of Missouri, Harriet Hageman of Wyoming, Rich McCormick of Georgia, Mary Miller of Illinois, and Chip Roy of Texas as original cosponsors. Massie has tweeted thanks to other lawmakers for cosponsoring the bill, including, Tom Tiffany of Wisconsin, Russ Fulcher of Idaho, and Mike Collins of Georgia.

Jim Jordan criticized for saying that 'only Americans should vote in American elections'

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) was hit with backlash after making a seemingly elementary and innocuous remark: "Only Americans should vote in American elections."

The comment was in regard to House Joint Resolution 24, or the “Disapproving the action of the District of Columbia Council in Approving the Local Resident Voting Rights Amendment Act of 2022,” which passed the House of Representatives on Thursday.

The resolution seeks to overturn a bill that passed the D.C. Council in October, which opened the local voting process to non-citizens.

The Local Resident Voting Rights Amendment Act was passed by the D.C. Council in late 2021. The bill gives non-citizens who live in the district the right to vote for the mayor, city council member, attorney general, school board member, and commissioner.

The law was to be reviewed by Congress and then go into effect in March.

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) pointed out there were 162 Democrats who voted to allow non-citizens to vote in D.C. elections. All 218 Republicans in the House voted not to let non-citizens vote in D.C. elections. The House voted to overturn the bill by a vote of 260-162.

— Thomas Massie (@Thomas Massie) 1676038146

Jordan reacted to the vote by tweeting, "Yesterday, 162 Democrats voted to allow illegal aliens to vote in elections in Washington D.C. Ridiculous. Only AMERICANS should vote in AMERICAN elections."

“Yesterday, 162 Democrats voted to allow illegal aliens to vote in elections in Washington D.C.

Ridiculous.

Only AMERICANS should vote in AMERICAN elections.”
— Rep. Jim Jordan (@Rep. Jim Jordan) 1676073223

However, not everyone shared the same belief that Americans should vote in American elections. Twitter reactions criticized Jordan for his stance.

One angry Twitter user lashed out, "You, like Trump, lie every time you tweet or open your mouth."

Another person attacked Jordan, "Since when do you care about people voting in actual elections?"

Someone wrote, "Another day, another ridiculous distortion designed to radicalize the low-information pawns in GQP’s war on common sense."

Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton, D-D.C., called the joint resolutions "profoundly undemocratic, paternalistic," adding, "D.C. residents, a majority of whom are Black and brown, are worthy and capable of governing themselves. Keep your hands off D.C."

The resolution will now head to the Democrat-controlled Senate.

Republican lawmaker wants bust of Ukraine's Zelenskyy displayed at US Capitol

Long-serving Republican Rep. Joe Wilson of South Carolina has put forward a resolution that calls for displaying a bust of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the U.S. Capitol.

"Resolved, That the House of Representatives directs the Fine Arts Board to obtain a bust of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, for display in a suitable, permanent location in the House of Representatives wing of the United States Capitol," the resolution states.

Wilson has served as a House lawmaker for more than two decades.

The U.S. has spent billions of dollars backing Ukraine as that beleaguered nation strives to fight against a Russian invasion.

Zelenskyy and the people of Ukraine "fully understand the meaning behind the American Revolution mottos of Don't Tread On Me and Live Free or Die," Wilson said in a December tweet. "The United States stands with Ukraine for victory."

Last month, while addressing a joint meeting of the U.S. Congress, Zelenskyy declared, "Your money is not charity. It's an investment in the global security and democracy that we handle in the most responsible way."

Republican Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky responded by tweeting, "It is not charity. Charity would be given freely. The American taxpayers have been conscripted into making welfare payments to this foreign government." Massie had previously tweeted, "I'm in DC but I will not be attending the speech of the Ukrainian lobbyist."

Last month, Congress passed an around $1.7 trillion omnibus package that ran thousands of pages long — the mammoth measure included billions of dollars in assistance for Ukraine.

"Congratulations to @GOPLeader on his election as the Speaker," Zelenskyy tweeted after Republican Kevin McCarthy of California secured the House speakership last week. "U.S. support in all fields has been vital for [Ukraine]'s success on the battlefield. We're counting on your continued support and further U.S. assistance to bring our common victory closer."

White House official's excuse for deleted tweet swiftly turned upside down by Biden's own words: 'On my watch'

The White House claimed Wednesday officials deleted a controversial tweet because it was "not complete."

But a reporter who questioned White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre quickly poked holes in that theory, observing that President Joe Biden made the exact claim that Jean-Pierre now said was "not complete."

What is the background?

On Tuesday, the White House claimed Biden is responsible for a forthcoming increase in Social Security payouts.

"Seniors are getting the biggest increase in their Social Security checks in 10 years through President Biden’s leadership," the tweet claimed.

But the White House deleted the post after Twitter users added a fact-check that noted increases in Social Security payouts are statutorily mandated to ensure that payments are commensurate with increasing inflation.

“Biden social media geniuses are giving Biden credit for the biggest Social Security COLA in 10 years, but neglect to mention that SS COLA is an automatic formula based on government inflation metric (CPI). 🤦‍♂️”
— Thomas Massie (@Thomas Massie) 1667393639

What did KJP say?

At the White House press briefing, a reporter asked whether the tweet was taken down "because of the addition of a note, or was it removed because of the concern about the veracity of the message in the tweet?"

"Look, the tweet was not complete," Jean-Pierre responded. "Usually, when we put out a tweet, we post it with context, and it did not have that context."

The context, according to Jean-Pierre, is that Medicare premiums will decrease in the near future and that "MAGA Republicans" want to cut social safety-net spending that is, in reality, insolvent.

"It did not have that context. It was an incomplete tweet," the press secretary stated, "and so that’s why you saw the digital team take that action."

But the reporter noted that on Tuesday, Biden took credit for the forthcoming increase in Social Security payouts, claiming it is occurring "on my watch" in one instance and "on our watch" in another.

 • Speaking in Florida on Tuesday, Biden said, "And on my watch, for the first time in 10 years, seniors are getting an increase in their Social Security checks."
 • Then at a campaign rally, Biden said on Tuesday, "On our watch, for the first time in 10 years, seniors are getting the biggest increase in Social Security checks, period."

"Do you believe that as long as the Medicare piece is included, that’s not claiming credit for something that is quite literally tied to cost-of-living increase and inflation?" the reporter cornered Jean-Pierre.

"We believe that we — we want to lay our argument out fully. And that was important to do as we put out, you know, information like that or as we put out a tweet," she stumbled. "And that was an incomplete tweet. So we do think it is important to do."

She did not, however, answer for why the tweet was "incomplete" when Biden had repeated the same claim just one day earlier.

White House deletes tweet boasting about benefit increases after Elon’s Twitter slams post with fact-check disclaimer — admin accidentally takes credit for record-high inflation

On Wednesday, the White House was shamed into deleting a tweet in which the administration boasted about a bump in the value of Social Security checks after Elon Musk’s Twitter placed a fact-check disclaimer on the post.

The Biden administration posted to Twitter on Tuesday afternoon, “Seniors are getting the biggest increase in their Social Security checks in 10 years through President Biden’s leadership.”

CNN senior reporter Daniel Dale replied to the tweet and accused the administration of twisting the narrative.

“That’s quite the spin. The size of Social Security checks is linked, by law, to inflation,” Dale wrote. “This year’s increase is unusually big because the inflation rate is unusually big.”

Elon Musk, who purchased Twitter last week, added a fact-check disclaimer to the White House’s post.

”Seniors will receive a large Social Security benefit increase due to the annual cost of living adjustment, which is based on the inflation rate,” the fact-check stated.

The note linked to the Social Security Administration’s website for more information regarding the legislation signed into law in 1972 by former President Richard Nixon. The legislation ensured automatic cost-of-living allowances based on the consumer price index.

Republican Representative Thomas Massie of Kentucky fired back at the White House’s post on Twitter.

”Biden social media geniuses are giving Biden credit for the biggest Social Security COLA in 10 years, but neglect to mention that SS COLA is an automatic formula based on government inflation metric,” he stated.

— Thomas Massie (@Thomas Massie) 1667393639

Republican Representative Vicky Hartzler of Missouri wrote in response to the administration’s blunder, “Biden’s leadership’ is solely responsible for record inflation, according to the White House.”

The Biden administration’s now-deleted post boasted about the 8.7% bump in the amount included in Social Security checks that will take effect in 2023. The increase was announced last month on the same day the administration also revealed an 8.2% inflation rate increase in September.

The bump in the value of Social Security checks is the largest increase since 1981, when benefits were raised by 11.2%.

The White House Twitter account subsequently deleted the post.

As inflation takes a bite out of Americans' finances, US continues spending big bucks to help Ukraine beat back Russian invasion

As Americans endure the painful financial consequences of raging inflation, the U.S. continues spending massive sums of money to help Ukraine defend itself against a brutal Russian invasion.

"President Biden has been clear we will support the people of Ukraine for as long as it takes," Secretary of State Antony Blinken noted in a Thursday statement.

"Pursuant to a delegation of authority from the President, I am authorizing our twenty-first drawdown of U.S. arms and equipment for Ukraine since September 2021. This $600 million drawdown includes additional arms, munitions, and equipment from U.S. Department of Defense inventories. This drawdown will bring the total U.S. military assistance for Ukraine to approximately $15.8 billion since the beginning of this Administration," Blinken said.

Earlier this week, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released a consumer price index report that showed inflation remains quite hot in the U.S. "The all items index increased 8.3 percent for the 12 months ending August, a smaller figure than the 8.5- percent increase for the period ending July," the BLS noted.

In a tweet on Sunday, Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia noted that she has not spoken to anyone advocating for the U.S. to shell out billions more for Ukraine. "I have not talked to a single person asking to send more billions to Ukraine. Not one," she tweeted.

GOP Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky responded by noting, "All calls and conversations I've had are with people who want us to stop sending their money to Ukraine."

Some lawmakers have been pushing for the U.S. to designate Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism. GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, who along with Democratic Sen. Currently, the only nations deemed state sponsors of terrorism include Iran, Syria, Cuba, and North Korea.

Breaking: Republican Rep. Scott Perry says the FBI seized his phone on Tuesday: 'These kinds of banana republic tactics should concern every Citizen'

GOP Rep. Scott Perry of Pennsylvania has said that the FBI seized his cell phone on Tuesday.

"This morning, while traveling with my family, 3 FBI agents visited me and seized my cell phone. They made no attempt to contact my lawyer, who would have made arrangements for them to have my phone if that was their wish. I'm outraged — though not surprised — that the FBI under the direction of Merrick Garland’s DOJ, would seize the phone of a sitting Member of Congress," Perry said in a statement, according to Fox News. "My phone contains info about my legislative and political activities, and personal/private discussions with my wife, family, constituents, and friends. None of this is the government's business."

The outlet reported that the lawmaker also said in the statement, "as with President Trump last night, DOJ chose this unnecessary and aggressive action instead of simply contacting my attorneys. These kinds of banana republic tactics should concern every Citizen — especially considering the decision before Congress this week to hire 87,000 new IRS agents to further persecute law-abiding Citizens."

Republican Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky shared a link to the Fox News report about the seizure of Perry's phone and remarked, "The Biden regime is out of control."

Former President Donald Trump issued a statement on Monday announcing that the FBI raided his Mar-a-Lago home in Florida.

In the statement, Trump declared, "my beautiful home, Mar-A-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, is currently under siege, raided, and occupied by a large group of FBI agents."

"It is prosecutorial misconduct, the weaponization of the Justice System, and an attack by Radical Left Democrats who desperately don’t want me to run for President in 2024, especially based on recent polls, and who will likewise do anything to stop Republicans and Conservatives in the upcoming Midterm Elections," Trump said in the statement on Monday.
