Make college great again: Trump ‘has the spine’ to declare war on woke universities

Taxpayers have been financing woke, anti-American indoctrination at private institutions for far too long, and the Trump administration is finally putting a stop to it.

Inez Stepman, senior policy and legal analyst for the Independent Women’s Forum, tells Jill Savage and Matthew Peterson on “Blaze News Tonight” that Harvard University and the University of Pennsylvania are some of the worst offenders.

“Universities have made their money, for decades and decades and decades, relying on the generosity of taxpayers, and one of the strings that came with all of those federal billions was that they were going to adhere to the federal Civil Rights Act,” Stepman explains.

“Now, we see an administration that has the spine, frankly, to actually look at the text where it says "You cannot discriminate on the basis of race" and apply it to universities where they’re very clearly discriminating on the basis of race. Whether it’s in admissions, whether it’s in hiring, whether it’s by preventing, for example, Jewish students from egressing the quad, which is a very clear violation,” she continues.

“So, my question,” Savage asks, “are they going to actually see an end to the federal funding, or are they just going to get a slap on the wrist like we’ve done so many times before?”

“I absolutely think the Trump administration is going to see this through,” Stepman responds. “I think what you are really seeing is, again, the kicking and screaming phase. I think universities will either have to go fully private, which a few of them can — maybe Harvard can because it has an endowment the size of a small country’s GDP.”

“But most universities will not be able to do that, and you will see especially, I think, universities in that sort of second tier under the Ivy League start to look at the way that they’re operating and how they can or can’t attract those kinds of federal grants,” she continues.

“I think it’s really going to transform the higher ed system,” she says, adding, “I’m very optimistic about this.”

Federal judge rejects Title IX rewrite from Biden admin to allow men in women's locker rooms: 'Simply does not make sense'

A federal judge has denied the United States Department of Education rewrite of Title IX that would have given men access to women's spaces.

United States District Court Judge Danny C. Reeves rejected the rewrite on several grounds, including that it would have compelled speech, violated the Constitution, and simply did not make sense.

The ruling applies to all states, not just those that sued, which were plaintiffs from the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Commonwealth of Virginia, state of Indiana, state of Tennessee, and state of West Virginia.

The Biden administration's DOE sought to add regulations to Title IX that would allow men access to women's "showers, locker rooms, and sexual education classes, among others" so long as they are consistent with an individual's "gender identity."

"But this approach simply does not make sense," Judge Reeves wrote. Reeves called the new regulations "arbitrary" and said the Department of Education offered "no rational explanation" for the glaring inconsistencies in the rewrite.

The judge explained that expanding the meaning of "on the basis of sex" to include "gender identity" would turn Title IX "on its head."

Former NCAA athlete Riley Gaines, who has been adamant about keeping men out of women's sports, called the decision a "huge win for girls and women everywhere!"

'The First Amendment does not permit the government to chill speech.'

Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti described the ruling as a "resounding victory for the protection of girls' privacy in locker rooms and showers and for the freedom to speak biologically accurate pronouns."

Skrmetti is referencing another portion of the ruling, which explained that the new rules would have required Title IX recipients, including teachers, to use "names and pronouns associated with a student’s asserted gender identity."

The judge said this new "subjective harassment standard" quite clearly "compels" speech and added that even just a stray remark or misuse of language could be considered harassment. He cited the following assertion by the DOE:

“Pronouns can and do convey a powerful message implicating a sensitive topic of public concern."

Judge Reeves said it was reasonable for the plaintiffs to fear that their failure to use preferred pronouns would be considered harassment under the potential new rules. Additionally, he declared this would have violated the First Amendment.

"Put simply, the First Amendment does not permit the government to chill speech or compel affirmance of a belief with which the speaker disagrees in this manner," the judge wrote.

The judge also said the Biden administration's assertion that "preventing a person from participating in a program or accessing a sex-separate facility consistent with their gender identity" subjects them to "harm" is inconsistent with the entirety of Title IX, which is not meant to "encompass the issue of gender identity at all."

The judge compared the idea to not allowing a man in a women's fraternity and seemingly implied that if this could be considered to be causing "harm," then any gender-based organization could not exist.

Remember the young surfer who lost her arm in a shark attack? 21 years later she’s fighting to protect women’s sports

A promising young surfer, then 13-year-old Bethany Hamilton’s world was turned upside down when she lost her arm in a shark attack. On “Relatable with Allie Beth Stuckey,” Bethany detailed how her family’s faith in God helped her through these troubling times:

“My dad worked really hard — like two to three jobs at a time, so we had a really simple childhood. But they gave me so much. They gave me so much time, and they gave me my faith in God. ... And so, when I lost my arm, it was almost like I was ready, because my mom had raised me in my faith, she would pray with me, she read the Bible to me at bedtime, we went to church ... and so, when chaos hit, I was ready.”

She also explained how she had to relearn surfing and what drove her to get back in the water just 21 days later:

“For me, surfing was more than just a childhood hobby. I feel like it was a way of life and culture and art and sport.”

Bethany said the physical journey was actually pretty easy, but it took a while for her to regain her confidence while surfing and figure out how to do things differently with just one arm — what she calls “Bethany’s version” of surfing. She also explained how frustrating it was to figure out how to do life with just one arm but that her faith in God and His plan for her life kept her going.

She discussed meeting her husband, motherhood, and even surfing while pregnant. According to Bethany, there are certain waves that are better while pregnant, and she surfed well into all her pregnancies, which is apparently commonplace in Hawaii.

Bethany has also been an outspoken advocate for the protection of women’s sports and explained her choice to speak out against biological men in women’s sports, specifically the World Surf League’s rule allowing males to compete against females:

“I feel like, too, a lot of it’s just such an interesting thing, because I feel like if women just said no, this wouldn’t be an issue. If all the female surfers — if the 70% that disagree with [the rule], if they all said no, then the World Surf League would not have an option.”

In the full episode, Bethany dives deeper into her faith, becoming well-known, and her partnership with pro-life diaper brand, EveryLife.

WATCH: Megyn Kelly has BLISTERING response to Biden’s Title IX revisions

Joe Biden has failed women once again with new Title IX amendments that largely overhaul Trump-era rules. Title IX, which was intended to protect women in athletics, will now pave the way for female athletes to continue being overpowered by trans competitors, as Biden’s new rules stipulate more protections for LGBTQ+ students. The rules state that students cannot be discriminated against for sexual orientation or “gender identity,” although a mandate on whether trans athletes can be barred from competing in the division opposite of their biological sex remains undecided.

The changes also target the way sexual harassment and sexual assault are defined and how due process is conducted. Per Biden’s revisions, the definitions of sexual harrassment and sexual assault will be expanded, and alleged victims will no longer be required to attend live hearings or cross examinations where they would otherwise have to face the accused.

Megyn Kelly, who Dave Rubin says is “loud and proud and hear me roar” in all the right ways, had something to say about Biden’s revisions as well as her voting history.

“I voted for Donald Trump to prevent things like this,” she said. “What Joe Biden just did to women's rights and Title IX and due process for young men on college campuses and free speech — I was horrified.”

“I’m ashamed of him! I’m disgusted at you, Miguel Cardona. Shame on you,” she spat. “Your daughter ... will now have to go into [a] college bathroom, [a] college locker room and be faced with men posing as women — many of whom are only there because they get off on wearing women's clothing ... and there's not a damn thing you can do about it.”

“It’s direct, and it’s true,” says Dave.

Even though “Donald Trump has gone after [Megyn] personally,” she is still “endorsing [him] for 2024” as she did in 2020.

“It wasn't about me,” she said. “It was about my concern for this country and my children and what was happening in particular in [the transgender] culture lane but in other lanes as well.”
