DEBATE: Should congressmen be allowed in women’s bathrooms?

House Speaker Mike Johnson has announced a new policy that explicitly states that transgender women must use the men’s bathroom and transgender men must use the women’s bathroom while in the Capitol.

This was in response to Representative-elect “Sarah” McBride, who identifies as a transgender woman, winning the Delaware seat.

“These are women’s spaces, and we should have a say. We shouldn’t have to bend to the rules of men who wear a skirt, who say that they have a right to infiltrate our spaces. I mean, these are private, sex-segregated spaces for a reason,” Allie Beth Stuckey of “Relatable” comments.

Brad Polumbo of the “Brad vs. Everyone Podcast” disagrees.

“I just see the whole thing as a solution in search of a problem. Basically, they’ve been using the facilities of their gender identity for years and years,” he tells Stuckey. “Even when you zoom out and look across the country, instances of physical assault or voyeurism or harassment in bathrooms are incredibly statistically rare.”

“And these gender identity ordinances that they’ve passed in many blue areas that allow people to use their preferred bathroom, those don’t correspond with any increase empirically in those crimes, in those offenses, according to a whole host of studies,” he continues.

“So I view the whole thing as kind of a culture war outrage that’s solving a problem that isn’t really there,” he adds.

However, Polumbo appears to be making the mistake of seeing the situation solely from a male perspective — as there are legitimate reasons a woman wouldn’t want to share a bathroom with a man who believes he is a woman.

“We’re talking specifically about women,” Stuckey responds. “No man is really afraid of the 5'4” guy, or actually female, with a beard, because he’s been on testosterone for a few years coming into his bathroom.”

“It is, of course, women who are justifiably nervous about the 6'2” guy who happens to be wearing a skirt and lipstick coming into her bathroom not only with her, but also with her 10-year-old daughter. Also, while she may be breastfeeding, also while she may be pumping, while she may be changing, she may be doing things that, of course, require privacy. That’s why we have bathrooms,” she continues.

While Polumbo goes on to claim that conservatives' fear of transgender women in women’s bathrooms is the same as the fear of a Catholic priest molesting a child, Stuckey couldn’t disagree more.

“I don’t think that’s a good analogy, because it’s not only that we are saying that men who identify as women may violate these girls. I understand that not every man who identifies as a woman is going to inflict violence upon a girl or a woman. It’s not only that though. It is in violation of reality, it is in violation of the truth,” she explains.

“There is a cost to saying that ‘two plus two equals five.’ Now, you could say it doesn’t really harm you to say that ‘two plus two equals five,’” she continues, “but I believe in violation of the rules of nature and the laws of reality.”

GOP lawmaker proposes requiring transgender men to register with Selective Service in case of a military draft

Republican Rep. Tim Burchett of Tennessee has put forward a proposal that would require transgender men to register with Selective Service in case the nation ever has another military draft.

The term transgender men refers to biological women who identify as men while the term transgender women refers to biological men who identify as women.

Currently, while males are required to register with Selective Service, females are not. According to the Selective Service System website, males are required to register regardless of how they choose to identify.

"Selective Service bases the registration requirement on gender assigned at birth and not on gender identity or on gender reassignment. Individuals who are born male and changed their gender to female are still required to register. Individuals who are born female and changed their gender to male are not required to register," the site states.

"Until Congress amends the MSSA [Military Selective Service Act] or passes a separate law addressing transsexuals and gender identity, Selective Service must follow the intent of Congress when it required only males to register – the registration requirement is based on gender at birth," the site notes. "In the event of a resumption of the draft, individuals born male who have changed their gender to female can file a claim for an exemption from military service if they receive an order to report for examination or induction."

Burchett put forward the proposal as an amendment to a defense measure. The amendment would stipulate that "the terms 'male citizen of the United States' and 'male person' include a transgender person who identifies as male."

"If they want to be treated like men, then they need to do what other men do and register for the Selective Service and get called up like everybody else," Burchett said in a statement, according to Military.com. "This group of people is more protected than any other group, and it's not right," he said.

America has not had a draft in decades.

Woman asserts that 'cis women should stand in solidarity with the trans community'

Kathryn Bromwich, who works as "a commissioning editor and writer on the Observer New Review," has asserted that biological women should be supportive of transgender women.

Transgender women are biological males who identify as women. Many women do not want to share women's spaces such as bathrooms with men, even if those men claim to identify as women.

"If women are united by anything – and there are 3.8 billion of us, so there is going to be little common ground – it is the risk of sexual violence, from which no woman is safe, especially not trans women. No rapist is going to stop to check whether you have fallopian tubes. The fact that we are all targets of this particular kind of violence should only increase cis women's solidarity towards our trans sisters," she wrote.

"With gender and sexuality becoming increasingly fluid, feminism should aim to be more inclusive rather than less: welcoming trans men and women as well as non-binary, queer, intersex and gender-nonconforming people," she opined.

Bromwich declared on Twitter, "Cis women should stand in solidarity with the trans community." She added in another tweet that many of her "Observer/Guardian colleagues" share her view on the matter.

“Worth pointing out that a lot of my Observer/Guardian colleagues feel exactly the same way on this issue”
— Kathryn Bromwich (@Kathryn Bromwich) 1687080769

But some on social media did not share her sentiments.

Someone replied by noting that "there's no such thing as 'cis' women. Moreover, there is no such thing as a 'transwoman'. There are men, and there are women, and that's it. You cannot change your sex. Stop deluding yourself, Kathryn."

"I don't know any 'cis' women, only women. Men are never women, no matter how they identify. And no one is 'born in the wrong body,'" another commenter wrote. "Good luck with your men's rights activism, tho."

Kansas Governor Learns You Can Either Let Boys Play Girls’ Sports Or Make Sensible Voters Happy — Not Both

'Trans women are biological women': Eli Erlick posts a litany of laughably preposterous claims about transgender women

Eli Erlick, an individual who identifies as "Extremely queer & incredibly trans," has posted a series of absurd statements on social media claiming that transgender women are actually women.

"Trans women are natural women. Trans women are normal woman. Trans women are biological women. Trans women are born women. Trans women are women," Erlick tweeted. "The only inherent difference between trans women and cis women is that trans women were assigned male by a doctor. Trans is an adjective that describes that assignment," Erlick added in another tweet.

“The only inherent difference between trans women and cis women is that trans women were assigned male by a doctor. Trans is an adjective that describes that assignment.”
— Eli Erlick (@Eli Erlick) 1660846714

Despite Erlick's emphatic declarations to the contrary, transgender women are actually just biological men masquerading as women.

"I've been openly trans since age 8. I was constantly told transition was impossible but still expressed myself. There was no other way forward. Nearly 2 decades later, I'm proud of who I am. I wouldn't be here w/o transitioning as a kid. Trans youth deserve our unwavering support," Erlick has tweeted. "Trans education matters. I didn't know transition was possible when I first came out as trans in 3rd grade. I didn't know that there were other people out there like me. I didn't even know queer people existed! I just knew that I was a girl and I wanted to be respected as one," Erlick wrote in another recent tweet.

Erlick has previously admitted to involvement in a scheme to distribute prescription hormones to people.

"There are over 20 states trying to criminalize hormone therapy, particularly for trans youth. So, my friends and I had an idea: sending out our extra prescriptions around the country. If you need hormones, I'm working with a distribution network to get you access. Everything is free, no questions asked. We have hundreds of doses of testosterone, estradiol, and spironolactone available right now. All are prescribed by doctors and unused. Each package comes with information on dosage, obtaining bloodwork, etc," Erlick wrote in an Instagram post that has apparently been deleted.

"I realize this is only a band-aid solution: we need full access to affirmative medical care from professionals immediately. However, missing a single dose of hormones can be devastating (especially for trans teens and those new to hormones)! These laws are outrageous and I can't wait for them to be overturned. In the meantime, DM me if you need HRT or if you have overprescribed hormones you'd like to send out," Erlick's post read.

Trans swimmer Lia Thomas loses 'Woman of the Year' bid to biological female — and leftists suddenly act like it doesn't matter to them

Transgender swimmer Lia Thomas earlier this month was nominated by the University of Pennsylvania to be in the running for the NCAA's "Woman of the Year" award for 2022.

But the controversial swimmer's bid came to end Monday when the NCAA announced its conference selections — and named Columbia University fencer Sylvie Binder as its pick for the Ivy League, Fox News said.

Now the field of award candidates has narrowed to 151, and the cable network said the Woman of the Year Selection Committee will choose 10 nominees from each division, and the top 30 will be announced in October.

Binder is a biological female, and conservatives like Republican U.S. Sen. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee couldn't have been happier that Thomas is out of the running:

“Lia Thomas lost the bid for NCAA’s ‘Woman of the Year’ — maybe they finally figured out she isn’t a woman?”
— Sen. Marsha Blackburn (@Sen. Marsha Blackburn) 1658937723

"Lia Thomas lost the bid for NCAA’s ‘Woman of the Year’ — maybe they finally figured out she isn’t a woman?" Blackburn tweeted.

Readers of TheBlaze will recall that Blackburn in March asked then-U.S. Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson during her confirmation hearings if she could define the word "woman." Jackson said she couldn't because she's "not a biologist."

There was a reason behind Blackburn's question, as Thomas — a biological male — had been making big waves in the pool at the time, destroying biological female opponents on the way to becoming an Ivy League champion and the No. 1-ranked woman collegiate swimmer in the country.

In fact, just a few days before Blackburn grilled Jackson, Thomas won the NCAA women's 500-yard freestyle amid deepening controversy.

Along the way, leftists were in near lockstep support for Thomas displacing biological female swimmers — some in humiliating fashion — despite the left's traditional support for women.

But after Thomas was displaced in the running for "Woman of the Year" — by a biological female, no less — there hasn't seemed to be much outrage coming from the left. Hmm.

How is the left reacting?

In fact, annoyed reactions to Blackburn's tweet indicate leftists suddenly don't seem to care that their trans icon is out of the "Woman of the Year" running.

Here's one example: "Or maybe winning one swim meet wasn't that impressive and not the end of society as some made it out to be," one commenter told Blackburn. "Onto real issues that actually matter... What are you doing to address the rampant gun violence?"

Deflection, anyone?

The hilariously transparent "Lia who?" hits just kept on coming — as if commenters were working from the same list of talking points:

 • "What have you done so far to combat inflation or mass shootings?" another lefty whined. "While Democrats are busy actively working hard to solve these issues in our country, you and your party are busy getting outraged by masks, vaccines, pronouns, other people’s gender identities, and drag shows."
 • "Could you focus on actual issues?" another commenter parried. "Don't be so insecure about how you identify."
 • "Well I guess we can all rest easier now that you're certainly on top of such pressing issues facing our country," another user declared. "Did you accept Rudy Giuliani's call to circumvent a free and fair election on Jan. 6?"
 • "Thanks for staying on top of critical issues for your constituents," another commenter noted.
 • "What have you done for the American people in the past 5 years, Marsha?" another user asked. "I've only seen you supporting a racist Russian operative, spewing hate, and making bad hairstyle choices."
 • "Marsha, what does Lia Thomas receiving an award (or not) from the NCAA have to do with your 'work' as a United States Senator?" another commenter wondered.

Now, that's just sad.

'Trans women are women': Comically, the Women's March is all in on radical leftist gender ideology

The Women's March claims that the word "women" includes transgender women.

A transgender woman is a biological man who identifies as a woman.

"We got some transphobes BIG mad the other day so let us spell it out for you: 'Women' is a term that encompasses cis & trans women. When we talk about 'people who can give birth,' it's because those people aren't all women! They're girls, trans men, & non-binary ppl," Women's March tweeted on Tuesday.

“Some of y'all really struggle with the concept of "assigned sex” vs "gender identity" and it shows!!”
— Women's March (@Women's March) 1658849743

"Some of y'all really struggle with the concept of 'assigned sex' vs 'gender identity' and it shows!!" the group added. "Women's March is committed to creating equality for women & a feminist future for all. We fight for rights that primarily (but not exclusively!) impact women. We fight for a world where ALL women are safe from gender-based violence, discrimination, and hate."

The Women's March received significant pushback after it declared in a tweet last week that "Trans women are women."

"The point of tweets like this is to demoralize actual feminists, so that we stop fighting for women and girls. Don't let it demoralize you," Abigail Shrier tweeted last week in response to the Women's March's claim.

"Misinformation," Babylon Bee CEO Seth Dillon tweeted.

"No they aren't. There are massive differences between women and trans women. We can be respectful to trans people while not abandoning reality," Megyn Kelly tweeted.

"If the point of this slogan is to reject treating 'trans women' and 'women' as separate or distinct categories of people, then the slogan undermines itself, because it refers to them as separate categories... thus implying some distinction. Otherwise they'd say 'women are women'" Michael Tracey commented.

The Women's March's tweets reflect the dogmas of radical leftist gender ideology.

Vice President Kamala Harris did her part to promote the ideology this week by announcing her pronouns at the beginning of a roundtable event.
