WATCH: Tucker Carlson has an unexpected reaction to Trump’s VP pick

After months of waiting and speculation, Trump has finally chosen his running mate – Ohio Sen. JD Vance.

To be expected, the reaction to Trump’s VP choice has been mixed, but Dave Rubin finds Tucker Carlson’s reaction to be especially “interesting.”

In a speech, Carlson said, “JD Vance is the VP pick, and I think every person who pays close attention has got to be thrilled by that.”

Instead of cataloging Vance’s qualifications and positive attributes, Carlson opted to take a different route: “Every bad person I've ever met in a lifetime in Washington was aligned against JD Vance.”

“Every single one of those people in a line that would extend from Milwaukee to Chicago was lined up over the last week to knife JD Vance, not on personal grounds ... but [because] they thought he would be harder to manipulate and slightly less enthusiastic about killing people ... that he would be an impediment to their exercising power,” Carlson continued.

“What Tucker's really talking about there is there's kind of the deep state people that want to keep us in perpetual war, and those are the ones that don't like [Trump’s VP pick],” says Dave.

How JD Vance will put an end to 'racist' government DEI programs

Joe Biden likely won’t sign it, but regardless, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) has introduced legislation to dismantle all federal DEI programs.

“If you want to root out the Deep State and the bureaucracy, you need political appointees who are aligned with the agenda. And what this legislation does — I’m not an idiot, Joe Biden’s not going to sign it — but Donald Trump would,” Vance tells Glenn Beck, adding, “What it would do is really destroy the diversity, equity, and inclusion bureaucracy that exists in our country.”

“People say, ‘Well, who doesn’t like diversity right? Doesn’t diversity just mean you have a nice Mexican restaurant down the street?’” Vance continues. “The way that our federal government has interpreted this is to explicitly allow racist decision-making, primarily targeting white and Asian Americans.”

One example Vance uses is of a farm program that explicitly excluded white Americans from the provision of farm assistance for American farmers.

“That’s ridiculous,” Vances tells Glenn. “You can’t discriminate, whether black or white, against people on the basis of skin color, this would proactively root this stuff out of our government, and it’s a very important first step to getting basic merit back in our federal system.”

“I don’t think that even black farmers would have wanted that,” Glenn says, agreeing. “Farmers rely on each other, and they need to help each other because you know if Bill’s crop is down this year, it might be my crop down next year. So, we’re all in this together.”

Vance believes this has a lot less to do with actually helping black people and a lot more to do with hurting white people.

“One of my theories, Glenn, is that a lot of what is broken about America is high-education whites, who really hate lower-education whites. And I think you see that as a main driver of a lot of very stupid, evil public policy in this country, so we’ve got to root it out,” Vance explains.

How has Tulsi gone from Bernie supporter to possible Trump VP pick?

In 2016, the last place former Democratic congresswoman and presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard thought she would be now is addressing rumors that she might be Donald Trump’s pick for vice president.

But Gabbard, who shockingly supported Bernie Sanders in 2016, is now in that very spot.

“I’m not going to ask you anything other than have you had a conversation with him about being vice president,” Glenn Beck asks, curious.

“I’ve spoken to him. I won’t talk about what we spoke about,” Gabbard tells Glenn, adding that she “would serve” in a Trump administration if it was in a capacity she felt she “could actually be effective in helping to get our country back.”

“Can you help me out on understanding the Bernie Sanders to, you know, ‘I’d be willing to serve in a Trump administration?’” Glenn asks.

“I’m glad you asked,” Gabbard says, “because it is, on its face, kind of a big mental leap. But when you actually look at the reason when I made that announcement back in 2016 to resign as vice chair of the DNC, so that I could get involved in that Democratic presidential primary, I focused on one thing.”

Though Gabbard admits Sanders has changed a lot since she supported him, she stands by the reason she used to support him.

“I announced my endorsement of Bernie Sanders over Hillary Clinton around foreign policy,” she says. "There was a very clear contrast between Hillary Clinton, the queen of warmongers and Bernie Sanders, who has for a long time largely been more of a non-interventionist.”

“As an American citizen, as a soldier, and a veteran of various wars and conflicts, I felt strongly about the fact that Hillary Clinton would be the most dangerous president and commander in chief for our country, our freedom, our security, and our liberty.”

Trump’s trials BACKFIRING, could help him WIN the 2024 election

While the multiple legal trials former President Donald Trump is facing are hurting his ability to campaign, they may not be hurting his chances at winning.

Rather, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) believes that they might be helping.

“It is highlighting, I think, how corrupt the justice system has gotten in certain parts of our country,” Vance says.

“You have the number three person at Biden’s DOJ, who jumps ship and goes and joins a local prosecutor's office to participate in this. By the way, he’s also, it turns out, a DNC paid consultant,” Vance explains.

“Then, you have a Soros-funded prosecutor who brings the case. It’s being presided over by a literal campaign donor to Biden-Harris, who is preventing Donald Trump from even speaking on the merits of the case in the court of public opinion,” he continues.

While this is all egregious, Vance believes the obvious corruption is “really helping Trump politically.”

“Which, again, I think is all that matters because most people who have any sense of fairness recognize that this is a sham trial and so long as it’s helping Trump get elected, I think that’s the thing that matters most,” he adds.

Glenn Beck is in agreement, noting that Trump has been choosing his words wisely during this unprecedented political persecution as well.

“Frankly our Constitution is much more important than jail,” Trump said to press in the Manhattan courthouse. “It's not even close. I'll do that sacrifice any day.”

Glenn believes this might be “the line of the year,” calling it a “strong, strong stance.”

Vice President Tucker Carlson? Growing evidence suggests it could happen

Trump fans have long cheered Tucker Carlson’s name and even called for the former Fox news anchor to be named vice president should Trump win the election.

Based on mounting evidence, Glenn Beck speculates that these folks could get their wish granted.

“I noticed a pattern,” he says, admitting that this is merely “a Glenn Beck theory.”

After meeting with world leaders such as Russia’s Putin, Argentina’s Milei, and Hungary’s Orbán, Tucker has essentially “[taken] the place of all of those respected journalists that we had at one time,” says Glenn. “They would go and do the big, heavy interviews, and they talked to all the world leaders” before the days of authentic journalism seemed to end.

Perhaps Tucker’s growing list of high-profile interviews suggests that he is not only stepping in to fill the gap but also to lay some foundational groundwork.

“I thought, 'Wow, he'll know all the world leaders and have spoken to them personally,' — which is weird because I'm not sure Kamala Harris has done all that, which then made me think … Ramaswamy and Tucker Carlson … were the top two names given to Donald Trump of who they'd like to see as a vice presidential nominee,” Glenn recalls.

“Immediately, my thought was Tucker's a TV guy, though; he’s not going to do that” because “he doesn't have the experience,” but considering his recent trajectory, perhaps “he does now.”

While Glenn doesn’t believe Tucker is actually in line for the vice presidency, he does think “it would be smart of Donald Trump” to consider Tucker for the position.
