Donald Trump unveils 3 more key picks for future admin

President-elect Donald Trump confirmed that he has nominated Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida to serve as attorney general, Republican Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida to serve as secretary of state, and former Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii to serve as director of national intelligence.

Reports of Rubio's and Gabbard's appointments have circulated over the last few days, with Trump confirming their nominations on Wednesday. Although Gaetz has long been an ally of Trump, his name has not appeared on any short lists for the administration.

'As a former Candidate for the Democrat Presidential Nomination, she has broad support in both Parties - She is now a proud Republican!'

"Few issues in America are more important than ending the partisan Weaponization of our Justice System," Trump said in a statement. "Matt will end Weaponized Government, protect our Borders, dismantle Criminal Organizations and restore Americans' badly-shattered Faith and Confidence in the Justice Department."

"Matt will root out the systemic corruption at DOJ, and return the Department to its true mission of fighting Crime, and upholding our Democracy and Constitution," Trump continued. "We must have Honesty, Integrity, and Transparency at DOJ. Under Matt's leadership, all Americans will be proud of the Department of Justice once again."

In response, Gaetz tweeted, "It will be an honor to serve as President Trump’s Attorney General!"

Trump also confirmed rumors of Rubio's nomination.

"Marco is a Highly Respected Leader, and a very powerful Voice for Freedom," Trump said in a statement. "He will be a strong Advocate for our Nation, a true friend to our Allies, and a fearless Warrior who will never back down to our adversaries."

"Fighting partisan gridlock and elite complacency is never easy, but Senator Rubio is honored to serve his country and the people of Florida," Trump continued. "Every day, he wakes up determined to make it easier for you and your family to pursue the American Dream. He will not stop until American politics is once again centered on commonsense and the common good."

In response to the nomination, Rubio thanked Trump and promised to prioritize American interests.

"As Secretary of State, I will work every day to carry out [Trump's] foreign policy agenda," Rubio said of the nomination. "Under the leadership of President Trump, we will deliver peace through strength and always put the interests of Americans and America above all else."

Given Rubio is currently a sitting senator, Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida will have to make an appointment to replace him for the remainder of his term.

Trump also went on to congratulate and praise Gabbard for her past and future service to the country.

"For over two decades, Tulsi has fought for our Country and the Freedoms of all Americans," Trump said in a statement. "As a former Candidate for the Democrat Presidential Nomination, she has broad support in both Parties - She is now a proud Republican!"

"I know Tulsi will bring the fearless spirit that has defined her illustrious career to our Intelligence Community, championing our Constitutional Rights, and securing Peace through Strength," Trump continued. "Tulsi will make us all proud!"

Walz dodges the truth again when asked about Harris' unity message

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) has bent the truth to his benefit on numerous occasions. While it appears that in many cases, Walz has done so out of habit, his attempt to bend the truth on "CBS Mornings" this week was clearly out of desperation.

Host Tony Dokoupil suggested at the outset of his Wednesday interview with Walz that Harris' "closing campaign message is all about unity" — a message possibly compromised by President Joe Biden's dehumanizing suggestion Tuesday that Americans who support President Donald Trump are "garbage."

"I want to get your reaction to the president's comments, but I want to put it into a larger context of your recent comment comparing the Sunday Trump rally to a Nazi rally," said Dokoupil. "I would also throw in there Obama's bitter clingers, 'gun and religion' comment from a while back, the 'deplorable' line from Hillary Clinton's campaign, and the way that Democrats are seen by some voters as disrespecting them."

'They cling to guns or religion.'

Dokoupil was referring to:

  • Biden's Oct. 29, 2024, suggestion to Voto Latino that "the only garbage I see floating out there is [Trump's] supporters."
  • Walz's Oct. 27, 2024, suggestion regarding Trump's Madison Square Garden campaign event Sunday that "there's a direct parallel to a big [Nazi] rally that happened in the mid-1930s at Madison Square Garden."
  • Clinton's Sept. 9, 2016, suggestions at an expensive New York City event that "you could put half of Trump's supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables" and that "some of those folks — they are irredeemable, but thankfully, they are not America."
  • Barack Obama's April 6, 2008, suggestion that working-class voters in Pennsylvania and the Midwest who were ambivalent about supporting him were "bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment."

Dokoupil said, "I have to ask: Does that undercut this closing message of unity from your campaign?"

Kamala Harris' running mate fired back, "No, certainly not."

'I think Vice — uh, President Biden — was very clear.'

"I've represented rural areas. I've represented Democrats, Republicans, independents. Same thing with the vice president," said the Democratic governor, suggesting that Harris — who has demonized pro-life Americans, previously argued that traditional Catholics should be disqualified from judicial appointments, and told Christians at a recent campaign event that they were "at the wrong rally" — represented all Americans.

"Look, you saw a presidential speech last night at the Ellipse that is the best of America," said Walz. "One that's talking about unifying us. One that's talking about bringing folks to the table."

Walz quickly jettisoned the unity theme to accuse Trump of being divisive, to insinuate that the Republican president was somehow responsible for Biden's dehumanizing language, and to once again bend the truth, this time about Biden's "garbage" statement.

"I think that the frustration we've seen since January 6, the frustration with Donald Trump's rhetoric of division, it does fire passions," continued Walz. "I think Vice — uh, President Biden — was very clear that he's speaking about the rhetoric we heard, and so it doesn't undermine it. People are hungry to come back together."

Some revisionists on the left have similarly suggested that Biden's "garbage" remark was not directed at millions of Trump supporters, but instead at Trump's rhetoric.

Politico, for instance, falsely reported that "Biden, in a Zoom call with the organization Vote Latino, said 'the only garbage' was the 'hatred' of Trump supporters who said such things about American citizens."

Despite such rewrites of what happened, it is clear from the footage of Biden's remarks that he was unmistakably trashing Trump supporters.

Americans might ultimately unite, just not in the way Walz is hoping.

A recent MinnPost-Embold Research poll indicated that even in his home state, the race has tightened up, showing Harris leading Trump by only three points.

According to the latest AtlasIntel poll, Trump is up two points nationally. Averaging recent polls, Nate Silver's FiveThirtyEight polling outfit alternatively has Trump trailing by 1.4 points.

Trump personally rewriting tonight's acceptance speech after assassination attempt

MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Former President Donald Trump is putting the final touches on his acceptance speech for the final night of the Republican National Convention. Trump started a complete rewrite of the speech after he was shot during Saturday's assassination attempt.

An RNC official told reporters Thursday morning Trump will be much more personal and will focus on unifying not just the GOP but the country at large.

Trump has credited God for helping to save his life as he turned his head right before suspected gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks fired his rifle, with the first bullet piercing the top of Trump's right ear. Commentators watching the RNC have noted it appears Trump is humbled by the near-death experience.

Tonight's speakers include Tucker Carlson, Hulk Hogan, and Dana White. White will speak before Trump takes the stage.

Security concerns at the RNC, while heightened, are not top of mind for the attendees as there are dozens of law enforcement agencies from around the country who are on the ground to prevent anything serious from taking place.

U.S. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle did meet with Trump at the RNC on Wednesday. While Cheatle was inside the Fiserv Forum, she was peppered with questions by members of Congress on the security failures of Saturday's rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. While at first acknowledging the agency failed, Cheatle did not provide more details and promised she would be providing answers at a later date.

Cheatle then left and refused to answer any further questions.

One of the most shocking revelations about the assassination attempt is that the Secret Service reportedly was aware Crooks was up on the unsecured roof ten minutes prior to Trump taking the stage.

Trump needs to say THIS in his RNC speech after assassination attempt

Former President Donald Trump has demonstrated serious heroism in the wake of the attempt on his life.

Not only did he stand up after the bullet grazed his ear, pump his fist, and make sure he made contact with his supporters while telling them to keep fighting — but he has already completely changed his RNC 2024 speech to allegedly focus on unity instead of political jabs.

Glenn Beck is thoroughly impressed and has an idea of what he hopes Trump will tell the nation in his speech.

“I would hope the president will come out and say something along the lines of ‘We’re standing here today because America is resilient. A few days ago, somebody tried to kill me, but by God’s grace that bullet only grazed me,’” Glenn says.

“When you have a bullet whiz by your head, there’s two ways to go. One is vengeance and the other is unity. And our nation is divided. Trust is low in our neighborhoods, in the media, everywhere,” he continues.

Despite knowing exactly what Trump meant, Glenn also believes he needs to address his use of the word “fight” that he yelled while pumping his fist.

“When I say ‘fight,’ what I mean is the little guy needs to rise up. Make sure your voice is heard, to be not afraid. We need to fight, but not with violence. We fight with our words, we fight on the streets with our words and with our actions,” he explains.

“Let’s show the rest of the world what it means to be American,” he continues. “Every voice matters, every citizen matters. Stand up for the principles in our Bill of Rights. Defend the truth with integrity and courage. Forgive others without compromising our values.”

Glenn leaves one parting message for Trump.

“It is important today that we all reach out to somebody that doesn’t agree with us, that is a friend. Just say, ‘How you doing today? Yeah, I know our guy was shot, but I want you to know I don’t hold you responsible for that, I’m sure you were just as offended as I was,’” he says.

“If they weren’t, move on. But most likely, any decent American was horrified by what they saw.”

Unity? No Thanks!

Keep your unity, Mr. President, and just stop calling everyone a Nazi. Or not.

They Don’t Want ‘Unity,’ They Want A Reset. Don’t Give It To Them.

The calls for 'unity' following the attempted assassination of Donald Trump are nothing more than a plea for a political reset.

A Fist-Pumping Trump Delivers The National Strength And Unity Biden’s Weakness Destroys

The strength our nation needs is found in Trump, his fist pump, and his promise to hold the deep state accountable for destroying America.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. exposes the dirty trick BOTH parties have pulled on Americans

As the 2024 presidential election heats up, Dave Rubin is well aware that “things are starting to get serious” — and independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is ready for the challenge.

Especially considering that he doesn’t think Trump and Biden are all that different.

“Trump and Biden are kind of mirror images of each other,” he tells Rubin. “They’re different in temperament and their rhetoric and their personalities, but on the issues, there’s not a huge amount of difference.”

While the two differ in their stances on issues like gun control and abortion, neither of them seem as focused on the issues that are really hurting Americans.

“The big issue is the debt, $34 trillion debt, that can sink our country,” he explains, noting that another major issue is the chronic disease epidemic.

“When I was a kid, the average pediatrician saw maybe one case of juvenile diabetes during his entire career. Today, one out of every three kids who walks through his office door is pre-diabetic or diabetic, and nobody’s talking about it,” he says, adding, “and that’s just one chronic disease.”

Rather than focusing on the issues that are killing Americans, Trump and Biden are using the polarization of them to win.

“They get elected by polarization,” he explains. “If you want to talk about assaults on our democracy, the big danger to our democracy is we’re going to get torn apart by this toxic polarization that is worse today than probably any time since the American Civil War.”
