Bob Casey Cries Uncle, Ending U.S. Senate Race Recount In Pennsylvania

Casey finally admitted defeat Thursday evening in a sober video posted on social media.

McCormick Flips Pennsylvania Senate Seat Republican, Increasing The GOP’s Advantage In The Upper Chamber

Republican Dave McCormick flipped Pennsylvania’s long-held Democrat U.S. Senate seat in an upset that will remove Sen. Bob Casey Jr. from office. But the results are so close there will be a recount. Casey has held the seat since 2007 and was seeking a fourth six-year term. The McCormick campaign released a statement on Thursday […]

Chuck Schumer-affiliated PAC messed up big time, boosting a Republican who just took a Senate seat

Post-McConnell Republicans now control the U.S. Senate, thanks in part to a Democratic super PAC closely affiliated with Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.).

Although Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown (D) has been in office for nearly two decades, he appeared particularly vulnerable this election cycle. The Duty and Country PAC, funded by the Schumer-linked Senate Majority PAC, meddled in the 2024 Ohio Republican primary in hopes of boosting the weaker of Brown's potential challengers in hopes of keeping the Senate seat.

It had no idea it would be helping the man who would ultimately unseat Brown: the Trump- and Vance-backed Cleveland businessman Bernie Moreno.

'Exactly the type of MAGA fighter that we need in the United States Senate.'

The New York Times reported in March that Duty and Country, which had been running ads on behalf of Brown in Ohio, blew roughly $2.7 million to run an ad across the state characterizing Moreno — then facing off with Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose and state Sen. Matt Dolan — as an ultraconservative aligned with President Donald Trump.

While the ad was on its face negative, it highlighted views and credentials that might resonate with likely Republican voters.

"MAGA Republican Bernie Moreno is too conservative for Ohio," said the ad. "In Washington, Moreno would do Donald Trump's bidding. That's why Trump endorsed Moreno, calling him 'exactly the type of MAGA fighter that we need in the United States Senate.'"

Dolan told NBC News at the time, "National Democrats are putting millions of dollars behind Bernie Moreno in the waning days of this primary because he is damaged, unelectable and incapable of defeating Sherrod Brown."

"Democrats constantly underestimate the America First movement at their own peril," said Reagan McCarthy, Moreno's communications director. "They thought President Trump would be easy to beat in 2016 and then they got their clocks cleaned when he demolished Hillary Clinton. The same thing is going to happen to Sherrod Brown this year."

Of the two, McCarthy was right.

'You're fired, buddy.'

With 92% of the vote in, Decision Desk HQ indicated that Moreno beat Brown 50.2% to 46.4%, netting over 220,000 more votes.

"What we need in the United States of America is leaders in Washington, D.C., that actually put the interests of American citizens above all else. We're tired of being treated like second-class citizens in our own country. We're tired of leaders that think we're garbage and we're tired of being treated like garbage," the soon-to-be senator said in his victory speech.

Moreno then singled out Schumer, saying, "Chuck Schumer, if you're watching, thanks for the help in the primary, but you're fired, buddy."

Democrats Find Themselves In Deep Hole For Upcoming Senate Elections

Of the thirty-four Senators defending their seats this cycle, only eleven are Republicans.

Former Rep. Justin Amash announces US Senate bid

Former U.S. Rep. Justin Amash of Michigan has announced a U.S. Senate bid, indicating that he will compete in the Republican primary.

"After thoroughly evaluating all aspects of a potential campaign, I'm convinced that no candidate would be better positioned to win both the Republican primary and the general election. That's why, today, I'm making it official: I'm joining the race for United States Senate in Michigan," Amash declared in a post on X.

"As I wrote when I launched my exploratory committee: We need a principled, consistent constitutional conservative in the Senate—someone with a record of taking on the bipartisan oligarchy, defending sound money and free speech, fighting the surveillance state and military-industrial complex, and protecting all our rights," he noted. Amash had announced in January that he was considering a Senate bid.

"Follow the Constitution. Read the bills. Stop governing by emergency. End the forever war. Cut taxes & spending. Stop borrowing trillions. No CBDC. Protect free speech. Repeal the Patriot Act & FISA 702. No qualified immunity for government officials. End civil asset forfeiture," Amash wrote in another post.

On his X account, Amash describes himself as a "libertarian" and "constitutional conservative."

While serving as a House lawmaker from early 2011 until early 2021, Amash switched from Republican to independent in 2019. That same year, he voted to impeach then-President Donald Trump.

In 2020, Amash switched to libertarian and openly considered a presidential bid. "I launched an exploratory committee to seek the [Libertarian Party's] nomination for president of the United States," Amash tweeted. But less than three weeks later he tweeted, "circumstances don’t lend themselves to my success as a candidate for president this year, and therefore I will not be a candidate."

Amash is jumping into a Republican primary that includes figures such as former Rep. Peter Meijer and former Rep. Mike Rogers.

John Fetterman, who supports Israel, responds perfectly to pro-Palestinian protesters chanting outside his home

Israel-supporting Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pennsylvania) came up with a perfect response to pro-Palestinian protesters who showed up outside his home late last week and chanted that he supports "genocide."

"Fetterman, Fetterman, you can't hide! You're supporting genocide!" the left-wing crowd hollered.

But the freshman senator had the ideal rejoinder under his sleeve, getting on the roof of his abode and holding up a huge blue-and-white Israeli flag which wafted in the wind high above the angry throng.

According to the Daily Mail, the protest took place outside his residence in Braddock, which is near Pittsburgh. While the brick structure in the video may not look like your garden-variety home, Fetterman's website indicates that he, his wife, and their three children live in a restored car dealership in Braddock.

The scene was reminiscent of another headline-grabbing moment in November when Fetterman trolled anti-Israel protesters being handcuffed at the U.S. Capitol simply by walking past them while waving a miniature Israeli flag.

How are folks reacting?

It appears many commenters under the X post above are either Democrats or pro-Palestinian or both, and they weren't happy:

  • "We must thoroughly study this heel turn to make sure we see the signs in the next popular 'progressive,'" one commenter wrote.
  • "What an embarrassment to my home state," another user said.
  • "So Fetterman is a foreign agent serving a foreign country. Got it. US politicians should never wave a foreign flag. This guy should be removed from office," another commenter said.

Although, at least one responder seemed into it: "Stop making me like John Fetterman."

Anything else?

Fetterman of late has been behaving in a number of eye-opening, non-woke ways:

  • Earlier this month, he blasted the hypocrisy of South Africa going to international court against Israel for the Jewish nation's "genocide" against Palestinians in Gaza.
  • In December, Fetterman declared he's "not a progressive," reportedly called the gigantic number of border crossings "astonishing," and said that such concerns aren't xenophobic — and repeated his belief that Democratic New Jersey lawmaker Bob Menendez should be expelled from the U.S. Senate.
  • In October, Fetterman called out lawmakers from his own party who jumped the gun to blame Israel for a Gaza hospital bombing when it was soon revealed Hamas was behind the deadly act.
  • That same month, Fetterman also announced he would highlight the identities of those Hamas abducted: "My office will display every last one of the innocent Israelis kidnapped by Hamas until they are safely returned home. We won't stop sharing their stories until then."
  • Fetterman also said in October, "Now is not the time to talk about a ceasefire. We must support Israel in efforts to eliminate the Hamas terrorists who slaughtered innocent men, women, and children. Hamas does not want peace, they want to destroy Israel. We can talk about a ceasefire after Hamas is neutralized."

Fired-up John Fetterman, in latest non-woke take, rips hypocrisy of South Africa going to int'l court over Israeli 'genocide'

Democratic U.S. Sen. John Fetterman kept up his eye-opening, non-woke behavior Wednesday when he blasted the hypocrisy of South Africa going to international court against Israel for the Jewish nation's "genocide" against Palestinians in Gaza.

What are the details?

Speaking at the Orthodox Union Advocacy Center, the Pennsylvania lawmaker — donned in his standard shorts and hoodie — first took some time ripping into terror group Hamas over its deadly surprise attack against Israel in October, the Washington Examiner said.

An angry Fetterman called Hamas "a group of cowards" and said its members "hide in tunnels, they hide behind civilians, they attack, kill, and mutilate children [and] women!" He also demanded that pro-Palestinian advocates "stop talking about proportion" in regard to Israel's military response to Hamas.

“They shot their best shot on Oct. 7, and they would have taken more lives if they could have, but they couldn’t do it,” Fetterman added.

Shifting gears, Fetterman told the crowd that while he was on the subject of Hamas' "genocide," South Africa has plenty to answer for in that department — yet it's still going to trial against Israel at the International Court of Justice.

"Maybe South Africa ... ought to sit this one out when it comes to criticizing the behavior of other nations!" Fetterman barked. "Sit it out!”

The Examiner said Fetterman calling out South Africa referred to the murder of white farmers there, which led to riots alleging the murders were evidence of attempted genocide.

Anything else?

Fetterman has been getting heat from progressives over his headline-grabbing, non-woke takes of late:

  • In December, Fetterman declared he's "not a progressive," reportedly called the gigantic number of border crossings "astonishing," and said that such concerns aren't xenophobic, and repeated his belief that Democratic New Jersey lawmaker Bob Menendez should be expelled from the U.S. Senate.
