Military mocked after asking if anyone has seen its missing F-35 stealth jet valued over $78 million

A U.S. military base is asking nearby residents to give them a ring if they happen to find the Marine Corps' missing F-35B Lightning II.

Officials' apparent inability to track down the stealth aircraft has resulted in some lampoonery online, ranging from posting photoshopped camping selfies with the F-35B to invoking the ages-old rule of "finders keepers."

The missing jet, one of 353 belonging to the USMC and priced at over $78 million, was "involved in a mishap" on Sunday afternoon, according to Joint Base Charleston.

While the pilot thankfully managed to eject and is now in stable condition, it's unclear where his jet from the Marine Fighter Attack Training Squadron 501 with the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing ended up.

"Based on the jet's last known position and in coordination with the FAA, we are focusing our attention north of JB Charleston, around Lake Moultrie and Lake Marion," JBC indicated in a statement on X.

The search has so far been focused on Lake Moultrie, which spans 60,000 acres and has a maximum depth of 75.47 feet.

Jeremy Huggins, a spokesman at JBC, told the Washington Post the jet's transponder was not working "for some reason that we haven't yet determined," hence the public request for help.

"The aircraft is stealth, so it has different coatings and different designs that make it more difficult than a normal aircraft to detect," added Huggins.

Newsweek reported that the jet could travel for hundreds of miles on autopilot, meaning Americans farther afield might similarly play a role in its location.

The Air Force, which is helping the Marine Corps find the runaway vessel, defines a "mishap" as "an unplanned event or series of events that results in damage to DoD property; occupational illness to DoD personnel; injury to on or off-duty DoD military personnel; injury to on-duty DoD civilian personnel; or damage to public or private property, or injury or illness to non-DoD personnel, caused by DoD activities."

This particular mishap would likely fall under the category of a Class A Mishap, as the aircraft is no doubt destroyed, costing well over the minimum $2,500,000.

An F-35B Lighting II Joint Strike Fighter also crashed in Texas last December. The pilot safely bailed out in that instance as well, reported USNI News.

In response to JBC's request for help finding the missing aircraft, one user wrote, "Finders keepers."

Another user tweeted, "Gray with white spots, approx. 24,000 pounds, answers to the name 'Stealthy.'"

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) tweeted, "What are the F-35's pronouns?"

"Dude, Where's My F-35?" read one meme, referencing the 2000 Ashton Kutcher film "Dude, Where's My Car?" about a pair of irresponsible wastoids who lose track of their vehicle after a night of debauchery.

— (@)

Another user posted a "Where's Waldo?" scene incorporating the downed vessel.

A satirical Facebook Marketplace advertisement for a "Gently used F-35 Fighter" also made its way to X.

JBC has invited anyone who might have seen a smoldering multimillion-dollar wreck north of Charleston to call 843-963-3600.

US military Osprey aircraft crashes with five Marines aboard

An MV-22B Osprey aircraft with five U.S. Marines on board went down near Glamis, California, on Wednesday, according to the military.

"An aircraft belonging to [the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing] has crashed near Glamis, CA," a tweet on the U.S. Marine Corps Twitter account noted. "Contrary to social media rumors, there was no nuclear material on board the aircraft."

"Update from [the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing]: At approximately 1225 PST, an MV-22B Osprey crashed near Glamis, CA. We are awaiting confirmation of the status of the five Marines who were onboard the aircraft, which was stationed at MCAS Camp Pendleton with Marine Aircraft Group 39," a subsequent tweet noted. "We ask for the public’s patience as we work diligently with first responders and the unit involved to identify what occurred this afternoon," another tweet added.

The Osprey has the capability to fly like a helicopter or an airplane.

"The MV-22B Osprey is a tiltrotor V/STOL aircraft designed as the medium-lift replacement for the CH-46E Sea Knight assault support helicopter. The Osprey can operate as a helicopter or a turboprop aircraft and offers twice the speed, six times the range, and three times the payload of the CH-46E," according to a description of the aircraft. "The MV-22 Osprey’s mission for the U.S. Marine Corps is the transportation of troops, equipment, and supplies from ships and land bases for combat assault and assault support."

Earlier this year, another Osprey crashed amid NATO training exercises in Norway, leaving four Marines dead.

The U.S. Marine Corps posted an eyebrow-raising tweet earlier this month with a graphic that included bullets featuring brightly-colored tips, in an apparent nod to the LGBT rainbow symbol.

"Throughout June, the USMC takes #Pride in recognizing and honoring the contributions of our LGBTQ service members. We remain committed to fostering an environment free from discrimination, and defend the values of treating all equally, with dignity and respect. #PrideMonth #USMC," the tweet stated.

'We don't say a penis belongs to a man': Kindergarten teacher reportedly says he exposes kids to the terms transgender and gender-queer

The Washington Post reported that a kindergarten teacher in Massachusetts said that he exposes children to the terms transgender and gender-queer, though he does not provide complete definitions since that would be too much for kids in kindergarten. The outlet reported that the educator wished to remain anonymous since his district had not cleared him to talk publicly.

The teacher discusses anatomy but does not categorize parts as being specifically male or female, according to the Post. "We don’t say a penis belongs to a man," the teacher remarked — it goes with a human, he noted. The kindergarten educator teaches that if a physician declares a baby to be a boy when he is born, that child is not necessarily a boy. "Someone who was born a boy may not feel they are a boy."

The Post also reported that biology teacher Sam Long of Denver South High School, who is transgender, said that "LGBTQ identities are a naturally occurring facet of human variation, and that is why we need to learn about them in the context of biology and human anatomy."

Issues surrounding radical leftist gender ideology are highly controversial and remain the topic of significant debate throughout the country. Many parents do not want their kids to be exposed to the reality-defying gender-bending dogmas peddled by the left.

"There's years of research that demonstrate that curriculums that include respect for others regarding their sexual orientation and gender identity are more effective," director of the division of adolescent and school health at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Kathleen Ethier stated, according to the Post. "When you make a school environment safe and supportive for the most vulnerable youth, you improve the school environment for everyone."

The U.S. government has been celebrating the LGBT movement by recognizing June as so-called pride month. President Joe Biden issued a proclamation declaring "June 2022 as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex Pride Month. I call upon the people of the United States to recognize the achievements of the LGBTQI+ community, to celebrate the great diversity of the American people, and to wave their flags of pride high," he said in the proclamation.

The Marine Corps issued a tweet that included a graphic featuring bullets with brightly-colored tips, in a nod to the LGBT rainbow symbol. The Air Force also posted a tweet recognizing pride month.

Government entities, such as the Treasury Department, have even hoisted pride flags to celebrate the cause du jour.

NASCAR issues tweet celebrating LGBT Pride Month

It's June, which means that people can expect to be bombarded by a deluge of rainbows as businesses and government entities recognize so-called "Pride Month" — and right on cue, NASCAR issued a tweet on Wednesday celebrating the cause du jour.

"As we celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, we acknowledge that recent actions have not aligned with NASCAR’s mission to be a welcoming sport for all. We remain steadfast in our commitment to create a more inclusive environment -- in our workplaces, at the race track & in the stands," NASCAR tweeted.

In response to NASCAR's post, BlazeTV host Dave Rubin of "The Rubin Report," tweeted, "What freakin’ flag is that? You virtue signaling weirdos…."

"Reason #1,0000000000 we need a national divorce," BlazeTV's Daniel Horowitz of "The Conservative Review" tweeted.

"Laughingly pathetic," BlazeTV host Steve Deace of "The Steve Deace Show" tweeted.

"Perfect example of wokeness invading a business to the point where they have completely lost touch with their customer base," Caleb Hull tweeted.

"Woke NASCAR? WTH?! What next, woke MMA?" Harmeet Dhillon tweeted.

The U.S. Marines saluted LGBT services members on Wednesday, tweeting a graphic that included bullets with brightly-colored tips, in an apparent nod to the LGBT rainbow symbol.

"Throughout June, the USMC takes #Pride in recognizing and honoring the contributions of our LGBTQ service members. We remain committed to fostering an environment free from discrimination, and defend the values of treating all equally, with dignity and respect. #PrideMonth #USMC," the Marine Corps tweeted.

The U.S. Air Force also issued a tweet celebrating Pride Month.

"Happy Pride Month! We are the best #USAF by leveraging the diverse backgrounds & strengths of each member of our total force. We are committed to making the #AirForce a place where all can reach their full potential. #PRIDE #Pridemonth," the Air Force tweeted.

President Joe Biden in his proclamation for Pride Month this year claimed that "the rights of LGBTQI+ Americans are under relentless attack."

"Members of the LGBTQI+ community — especially people of color and trans people — continue to face discrimination and cruel, persistent efforts to undermine their human rights," the proclamation states.

In response to the post, MRCTV managing editor Brittany Hughes tweeted, "Armed and fabulous. Should come in handy in the next war."

"China is going to steamroll us, aren't they?" tweeted Curtis Houck, managing editor of the Media Research Center's NewsBusters.

"Seriously? How does fixating on differences foster cohesion and unity?" tweeted Christina Pushaw, who serves as press secretary for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

"The culture wars are not one the Marines were formed to fight. You represent all Americans & not just Woke socialists weaponizing sexual orientation to attack traditional nuclear family & Christian values. Tolerate, yes. Champion a side in a cultural debate? Not your mission," Kyle Becker tweeted.

"The job of the @usmc is to win wars. Full stop. Trying to make the Marines woke distracts from that mission. When I was in the Marines we had one mantra that fostered an environment free from discrimination: 'We all wear green and we all bleed red'. That’s all we need," tweeted Dr. Rich McCormick, a Republican running for U.S. Congress in the state of Georgia.

The U.S. Air Force also issued a tweet on Wednesday recognizing Pride Month.

President Joe Biden issued a proclamation for Pride Month again this year, after previously doing so in 2021. But while last year's proclamation referred to LGBTQ+ people, the 2022 proclamation added "Intersex" and refers to LGBTQI+ people.

"I, JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR. ... do hereby proclaim June 2022 as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex Pride Month," Biden's proclamation states. Marines backtrack after huge fallout for attacking Tucker Carlson: 'Unit is currently reviewing their internal procedures'

The U.S. Marine Corps is walking back a now-viral social media post in which an official Marine Twitter account attacked Fox News host Tucker Carlson over his remarks in recent report on military leadership.

What's a very brief history here?

On Thursday, Carlson discussed the Pentagon and its apparent priorities after it announced its new creation — flight suits for pregnant women.

Last week, President Joe Biden made new uniforms accommodations for women serving in the military.

Carlson said that the announcement was interesting, considering the ongoing tensions between China and the United States.

In response to Carlson's remarks, the II Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group blasted Carlson in several since-deleted Twitter posts on Friday.

One said, "What it looks like in today's armed forces @TuckerCarlson. Get right before you get left, boomer."

The tweet accompanied a photo of a female soldier carrying another female soldier.

In a second post, the account demanded a person who defended Carlson to "come back when you've served and been pregnant."

What are the details?

A spokesperson for the Marines told the Washington Examiner that the posts were not "executed according to the standards of decorum."

"The unit is currently reviewing their internal procedures for social media posts," the spokesperson revealed. "While the post was intended to show support for women in the military, it was not executed according to the standards of decorum expected on the Marine Corps' social media platforms."

Anything else?

Following the social media post, Rep. Rick Crawford (R-Ark.) blasted the move as "unconscionable," as previously reported by Blaze Media.

"Unconscionable that active duty military members — in uniform and from official military social media platforms — have leveled personal political attacks on a media figure," Crawford said. "This is no longer the same military my grandfather, my father, my uncles, my brothers, and I served."

Former Rep. Scott Taylor (R-Va.) added, "These political tweets to a civilian from official accounts, one from a senior enlisted in official uniform at official command are absolutely unacceptable & appalling. Marines need to be held accountable & there needs to be a @USMC wide message against this."

"As a female Marine that served in II MEF, this attack on a reporter's free speech from an official account is completely unacceptable," added Michele Perez Exner, who works for House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.).

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) also wrote an impassioned memo to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin on Sunday in which he demanded to meet with Marine Commandant David H. Berger over the inflammatory statements.

"Under Biden, the military is launching political attacks to intimidate Tucker Carlson & other civilians who criticize their policy decisions," Cruz wrote. "Officials in uniform are being used for the campaign. I've demanded a meeting with the Commandant of the USMC to put a stop to it."

Immediately following the criticism, the Twitter account deleted the offending tweets and apologized.

The apology said, "We are human and we messed up. We intended to speak up for female Marines and it was an effort to support them. They are a crucial part to our corps and we need them to know that. We will adjust fire and ensure the utmost professionalism in our tweets."

Marines face backlash for 'unacceptable & appalling' messages bashing Tucker Carlson

An official United States Marines social media account drew sharp criticism over the weekend after publicly rebuking Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

What happened?

Carlson triggered a tsunami of backlash last week he criticized new uniform accommodations made by President Joe Biden for women serving in the military.

While China's military becomes more masculine as it's assembled the world's largest navy, our military, as Joe Biden says, needs to become more feminine — whatever feminine means anymore since men and women no longer exist. The bottom line is it's out of control and the Pentagon is going along with it. Again, this is a mockery of the U.S. military and its core mission, which is winning wars.

In response, the II Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group publicly blasted Carlson.

"What it looks like in today's armed forces @TuckerCarlson," the Marine group tweeted along with a picture of a female Marine carrying another Marine.

"Get right before you get left, boomer," the account mocked.

When one person asked the Marine group to "please focus on China and not Tucker Carlson," the Marine group fired back, "Come back when you've served and been pregnant."

What was the response?

The response from the II MEF Information Group, along with other senior military leaders, was widely condemned as unbecoming behavior for American soldiers.

  • "Unconscionable that active duty military members - in uniform and from official military social media platforms - have leveled personal political attacks on a media figure. This is no longer the same military my grandfather, my father, my uncles, my brothers and I served," Rep. Rick Crawford (R-Ark.), an Army veteran, said.
  • "With US Marines tweeting partisan views on Govt accounts — and keeping their jobs all the while — we've crossed a red line. The Republic will not stand long when our military, intelligence, & law enforcement become political tools. We are in desperate trouble," Bryan Dean Wright, a former CIA ops officer, said.
  • "Please focus on China and not Tucker," Joey Jones, a retired Marine, said.
  • "These political tweets to a civilian from official accounts, one from a senior enlisted in official uniform at official command are absolutely unacceptable & appalling. Marines need to be held accountable & there needs to be a @USMC wide message against this. @CMC_MarineCorps," Former Navy SEAL and Rep. Scott Taylor (R-Va.) said.
  • "As a female Marine that served in II MEF, this attack on a reporter's free speech from an official account is completely unacceptable," Michele Perez Exner, who works for House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, said.

Anything else?

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) wrote Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin on Sunday demanding to meet with Marine Commandant David H. Berger over the political statements.

"Under Biden, the military is launching political attacks to intimidate Tucker Carlson & other civilians who criticize their policy decisions," Cruz tweeted. "Officials in uniform are being used for the campaign. I've demanded a meeting with the Commandant of the USMC to put a stop to it."

Defense secretary calls for review after Marine goes viral criticizing handling of misconduct claim

Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin told reporters Friday that he is asking for the facts that led to a Marine posting a video online sobbing about how her "perpetrator" would be allowed to remain in the military despite an admission of guilt in an alleged misconduct claim.

What are the details?

An advocacy group called Not In My Marine Corps — which says its mission is to "end sexual harassment and assault in the Armed Forces" — shared a video Thursday of the unidentified Marine with message, "This is what happens when you report your assault in the @USMC He admits his guilt and then is retained by the Commanding General after everyone else recommended do not retain. @RepSpeier@SenGillibrand@KamalaHarris@SecDef this is bullshit."

— #NotInMyMarineCorps (@#NotInMyMarineCorps)1613679249.0

In the video, the Marine is seen driving down the road and crying as she explains how earlier in the day she posted a video complaining of how unfair it is that she was "able to see her f***ing perpetrator in court" and learning that he would be receiving an honorable discharge.

She went on to say that she had just been told minutes prior that the Commanding General had actually decided to allow her alleged perpetrator to remain in the military despite what she called "admission to guilt."

She adds at the end of the video, "This is exactly why f***ing females in the military f***ing kill themselves. This is exactly why. Nobody takes this seriously."

Austin was asked about the viral clip during a press conference, and he called the video "deeply disturbing." The defense secretary said that he had asked his staff for further information surrounding what occurred and vowed to make sure the Marine in the video was being cared for.

"We have to get the facts," Austin said. "We have to understand just what happened."

The Marine Corps later issued a statement saying that the service was "aware of the video and is gathering all the details of the situation," stressing: "Sexual assault is a crime, is unacceptable, and violates our core values of honor, courage, and commitment."

However, the Corps told Business Insider later that despite some reports of the incident being a sexual assault, the issue was not an assault but "misconduct of a sexual nature."

The force clarified, "This video specifically refers to an allegation of misconduct regarding the wrongful appropriation and distribution of personal information."
