Joe Rogan clarifies his position on vaccines after opposition: 'I'm not an anti-vax person!'

Joe Rogan clarified his position on vaccines after receiving criticism and opposition to his previous comments on his massively popular podcast, "The Joe Rogan Experience."

Rogan had said that he was supportive of people getting the vaccine but that if someone were younger and healthy that they didn't need to get it necessarily. He received a lot of blowback for the statement, including some from Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation's top infectious disease expert.

"Even if you don't have any symptoms, you are propagating the outbreak," Fauci said on "The Today Show" in response to Rogan's comments.

"Because it is likely that you — even if you have no symptoms — that you may inadvertently and innocently then infect someone else, who might infect someone who really could have a problem with a severe outcome," he explained. "So if you want to only worry about yourself and not society, then that's OK. But if you're saying to yourself, even if I get infected, I could do damage to somebody else, even if I have no symptoms at all. And that's the reason why you've got to be careful and get vaccinated."

Rogan noted Fauci's response on his podcast but denied that he was against vaccines.

"I am not an anti-vax person," Rogan responded.

"In fact, I said I believe they are safe and I encourage many people to take them. My parents were vaccinated, I just said I don't think that if you're a young healthy person, that you need it," he explained.

"Their argument was you need it for other people," Rogan added. "That makes more sense, but that's a different argument. That's a different conversation."

He blamed news outlets for making more out of his comments than he had intended.

"These are not like planned statements, let's be real clear. When I say something stupid, I'm not thinking about what I'm going to say before I say it, I'm just saying it!" explained Rogan.

"The problem is today everything is all headlines, and highlights and it's all clickbait, which is fine. That's the business," he added later in the podcast. He went on to say that he didn't mind people sifting through his "three hour drunken ridiculous podcast" for clickbait material, but he objected to anyone lying about what he said.

Rogan also said that he had planned to get the Johnson & Johnson vaccine himself before it got pulled from distribution.

"I am not a doctor. I am a f***ing moron. And I am a cage-fighting commentator whose a dirty stand-up comedian!" Rogan said.

"I am not a respected source of information even for me," he added. "But I at least try to be honest about what I am saying."

'I hope that's bleach in the syringe': Liberals react to Ivanka Trump posting a vaccination pic

Critics of Ivanka Trump reacted harshly and bitterly to her publishing photographs of herself being vaccinated against the coronavirus and encouraging her followers to do the same.

"Today, I got the shot!!! I hope that you do too! Thank you Nurse Torres!!!" read the tweet from the daughter of former President Donald Trump on Wednesday.

"After she, her klan daddy, and her entire degenerate family were complicit in the deaths of 500k people, including my mother in love, family members, church members, colleagues, and friends, I don't give a flying fig about Ivanka Trump getting vaccinated," tweeted left-wing pastor Talbert Swan.

"I don't believe for a second that she waited till she was actually eligible for the vaccine and didn't jump the line. This pic is probably 3 months old," said personal trainer Aaron Guy.

"They bent the needle trying to puncture her white privilege," said another Twitter user.

One critic was particularly acidic in their response.

"I hope that's bleach in that syringe," read the tweet.

Not all of her critics were from the left. Many on the right were angered that she would tell Americans to get vaccinated.

Additionally, some adherents of the QAnon conspiracy theory were also disappointed and conjectured that perhaps it was a staged vaccination.

The U.S. has jumped far ahead of Europe in their comparative vaccination rates. A report from RTE said that the difference could be explained by the U.S. going into business early on with pharmaceutical companies to produce the vaccine, while European countries shopped for the vaccine.

Ron DeSantis utterly dismantles false accusations made by '60 Minutes' once and for all

Ron DeSantis utterly dismantles false accusations made by '60 Minutes' once and for all

Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis on Wednesday continued to rake "60 Minutes" over the coals for its deceptive reporting on the state's vaccine distribution partnership with Publix, holding a news conference that utterly dismantled CBS News' false accusations of a "pay to play" scheme between the governor and the grocery store chain.

DeSantis held a news conference titled "Facts vs. Smears" during which he spent a half hour explaining how his administration has been the target of "malicious smears" from the media. He and Florida Emergency Director Jared Moskowitz, a Democrat, together explained in detail the steps the DeSantis administration took to begin distributing the COVID-19 vaccine to Florida's senior citizens.

"When you're talking about this ridiculous smear narrative, it's important to break down just how false it is, how thoroughly dishonest it is, because this is bad for our country," DeSantis said.

On Sunday, CBS News' "60 Minutes" ran a 13-minute hit piece attacking DeSantis' role in Florida's vaccine distribution and accusing the governor of accepting $100,000 in campaign donations from Publix in exchange for granting the grocery store exclusive rights to distribute the vaccine. While "60 Minutes" aired a clip of DeSantis denying the allegations to reporter Sharyn Alfonsi, the program's editors cut out most of DeSantis' argument showing how the allegations were false.

After the report aired, Palm Beach County Mayor Dave Kerner, a Democrat, issued a statement saying "60 Minutes" intentionally misled viewers about the county's vaccination efforts and clarified that the county asked the governor to expand the state's partnership with Publix.

"They had that information, and they left it out because it kneecaps their narrative," Kerner said.

Moskowitz and Publix also issued statements blasting the false "60 Minutes" report.

In a detailed slideshow presentation, DeSantis and Moskowitz demonstrated how the claim that Publix received an exclusive deal to distribute the vaccine in Palm Beach was a "lie," showing how Florida partnered with CVS, Walgreens, hospitals, long-term care facilities, senior living communities, churches and other places of worship, and the Department of Health in Palm Beach County along with Publix to distribute the vaccine.

"The exclusive deal is a lie. They knew it was a lie, and yet they put it on the air," DeSantis said. "The fact is, there was never a deal with the state of Florida and Publix for any of this. No contracts. The state of Florida never paid Publix one red cent for distributing it."

Moskowitz told reporters that Florida considered other major retailers to participate in the state's pilot program for vaccination distribution, noting that his first choice was Walmart.

"We needed to open up more locations ... my first choice was Walmart. I called Walmart first and said listen we have some doses we wanna pilot this, we wanna pilot it specifically in areas that not just have hesitancy but where we see shots slowing down," he said. "Walmart said 'great we'd love to partner with you but we can't start for 21 days.'"

Moskowitz explained that when Publix was asked when they could start vaccine distribution, they said they could be ready to go in 72 hours. And that's why Publix was selected to partner with Florida.

DeSantis said "60 Minutes" was provided with this information, which they neglected to report.

In statements to several news organizations, a spokesman for "60 Minutes" defended its reporting.

When Florida state data revealed people of color were vaccinated at a much lower rate than their wealthier neighbors, 60 MINUTES reported the facts surrounding the vaccine's rollout, which is controlled by the governor. We requested and conducted interviews with dozens of sources and authorities involved. We requested an interview with Gov. Ron DeSantis, he declined; We spoke to State Emergency Management Director Jared Moskowitz twice, but he declined to be interviewed on camera for our story until well after our deadline. The idea we ignored their perspective is untrue. Counter to his statement yesterday, we also spoke on the record with Palm Beach County Mayor David Kerner. For over 50 years, the facts reported by 60 MINUTES have often stirred debate and prompted strong reactions. Our story Sunday night speaks for itself.

But DeSantis said that when his office offered to have Moskowitz and Kerner be interviewed, "60 Minutes" declined.

"Jared is not gonna sit down in an interview a month ago, or two weeks ago, to dismiss a fake story. He's got better things to do," DeSantis said. "But when it was clear that they were hell-bent on doing this, we said, alright, Jared will go on air. Dave Kerner will go on air. No, no no, we don't want to do that. We don't want to do that, because obviously, that would have undercut their narrative."

The governor accused "60 Minutes" of promoting a baseless conspiracy theory to smear him.

"The bottom line is ... to assert as a matter of fact that Publix was rewarded with exclusive rights in Palm Beach County is something that even the dimmest bulb in the New York corporate media constellation would have been able to realize that was false," DeSantis said.

"You literally take 10 minutes to make a few phone calls — '60 Minutes' was in Florida for three months trying to dig up dirt ... they wanted to smear Florida, they wanted to smear our vaccination effort, they obviously wanted to smear me. They spent three months and the best they could come up with is a half-baked conspiracy theory that literally is readily debunked by talking to like two people.

"So I think that means that we probably did a pretty good job, because if we had done a really bad job they would have actually had facts that they could have relied on to try to do the hit piece," he added.

'Everything is so dumb': Twitter responds to Krispy Kreme offer of free doughnuts for people to get vaccinated

The Krispy Kreme doughnut company tried to encourage people to go get vaccinated and instead got a backlash on social media over the incongruent health messaging.

Krispy Kreme CEO Michael Tattersfield appeared on Fox Business and explained the decision to hand out free glazed doughnuts.

"As America starts to make progress in the pandemic and you start to see scaling back the vaccines, we made the decision that said hey, we can support act of joy, which is if you come by, show us a vaccine card, get a doughnut anytime, any day, every day if you choose that!" Tattersfield said.

Tattersfield said the company would hand out the free doughnuts until the end of the year.

While many were happy to take advantage of the Krispy Kreme's gracious generosity, others criticized them for ignoring that obesity was in the list of comorbidities for COVID-19.

"Obesity is one of the primary factors that affects your response to COVID and these f***ers are giving away a donut a day if you're vaccinated. Everything is so dumb," tweeted writer and comedian Bridget Phetasy.

"Krispy Kreme will give you diabetes for free if you've been vaccinated," said bitcoin enthusiast Peter McCormack.

"Guess @krispykreme missed the memo that obesity/being overweight is an underlying condition that puts you at way greater risk of having complications from COVID," said commentator Brenna Spencer.

"Obesity is one of the comorbidities that contribute to the number of to COVID fatalities...and here's Krispy Kreme giving out donuts daily. These tactless people even named the person on their ad 'Jane Dough,' you know, just like the name 'Jane Doe' you give to dead people," tweeted California politician Errol Webber.

Others wondered if "Big Pharma" was paying off Krispy Kreme to seduce Americans to get vaccinated.

On the other hand, some pushed back against the "fat-shaming" of the haters and thanked the company for encouraging more people to get a vaccine shot.

Mark Levin shreds Biden's 'disgusting, propagandistic' speech to nation on COVID-19

LevinTV host Mark Levin shredded President Joe Biden's speech to the nation on the progress made to end the COVID-19 pandemic as "the most disgusting, propagandistic speech" any politician has ever given on Fox News Thursday.

"I used to think Joe Biden was a doddering fool. He couldn't tell his sister from his wife, and he didn't know the name of the secretary of defense, and there you are with Peter Doocy mocking him for not having press conferences," Levin told Sean Hannity sardonically. "Now I know why he doesn't have press conferences. He's busy inventing the [vaccines] and figuring out how to distribute them."

"In seven weeks' time this man will have killed the virus. Joe Biden, 50 years in the Senate, not one profound thing. Joe Biden, who had to cheat his way through law school. Joe Biden, who was plagiarizing from people, even as a senator. And little did we know, he's not a doddering old fool, an egomaniac, and a narcissist taking credit for the work of Donald Trump and all these other people. He has been working like no president in American history! He is the modern-day Jonas Salk," Levin said, referring to the virologist and medical researcher who developed the first successful polio vaccine. "He's Thomas Edison! We've never had a president like this; he's fantastic!"

"Let me tell you something about this guy Biden," Levin continued. "He's a liar, he's a plagiarist."

Levin accused Biden of taking credit for former President Donald Trump's work with Operation Warp Speed to fund the development and distribution of a vaccine against the coronavirus in record time.

"The Trump administration, last summer, before we had a vaccine, just in case one of these would work, contracted and paid for 800 million doses to cover 400 million people," Levin said. "On Dec. 23, when only Pfizer and Moderna had received emergency authorizations, the Trump administration went in and they ordered another 200 million vaccinations. Where do you think these vaccines are coming from? You think they're coming from Joe Biden in the basement? They didn't have any idea what the hell was going on. ... In the end, before Donald Trump left office, he had contracted for enough approved vaccines to inoculate 550 million people."

He went on to say:

This speech that Joe Biden gave is the most disgusting, propagandistic speech that a demagogue, even a politician, has ever given. It is pathetic. And you'll notice he and his spokesperson Psaki never tell us exactly what they've done and exactly who's done it. That is so different from the Trump administration.

This is so appalling. This man has exploited this pandemic like no politician has ever exploited a pandemic. When he's sitting in his basement eating his oatmeal that's dripping on his loafers, what does he do? He accuses President Trump of killing hundreds of thousands of people when it's Trump who gets the testing done, when it's Trump who's getting the ventilators and the respirators, when it's Trump who's getting the PPE, when it's Trump who's bailing out fools like Cuomo with hospital beds and so forth and so on.

"The Democrat Party has been a disaster," Levin concluded. "The Democrat governors have destroyed their economies; people can't get out of their states fast enough to go to Republican states. This is a disgrace, what Joe Biden did. And by the way, he says it's a war on the virus, well, who started the war? Communist China — his friends. What did he say about communist China today? Not a damn thing.

"Press conference from Joe Biden? What's the point?"
