'BLOOD ON UR HANDS': Jewish congressman's Brooklyn office vandalized by graffiti

The Brooklyn office of U.S. Rep. Dan Goldman (D-N.Y.) was vandalized with a few graffiti messages, such as one on the sidewalk that read, "BLOOD ON UR HANDS" and one on the building that said, "LET GAZA LIVE."

"Harassing, intimidating, and outright attacking the staff of a Jewish elected official at a time of rising violence and rampant antisemitism is dangerous and unacceptable," Goldman communications director Simone Kanter noted, according to reports.

Democratic lawmakers from New York, including Jerrold Nadler, Jamaal Bowman, Yvette Clarke, Adriano Espaillat, Hakeem Jeffries, Gregory Meeks, Grace Meng, Joseph Morelle, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Pat Ryan, Paul Tonko, Ritchie Torres and Nydia Velázquez, issued a joint statement condemning the vandalism of their colleague's office.

"We stand together to condemn the vandalism discovered this morning targeting Representative Dan Goldman's district office. While everyone has a first amendment right to peacefully protest and make their voice heard, that must not extend to intimidating staff or outright criminal behavior. This is a deeply personal and emotional issue for all who care about a future of peace for both the Israeli and Palestinian people, but we cannot let our disagreements turn us against each other and inflame violence here at home," their statement declared.

Goldman had been in Israel at the time Hamas perpetrated heinous terror attacks in the Jewish state last month, but the lawmaker was able to safely return to the U.S. with his family.

"Congressman Goldman, his wife, and three youngest children were in Israel for a family Bar Mitzvah when Hamas brutally attacked Israel on Shabbat and Simchat Torah, one of the holiest Jewish holidays. Congressman Goldman and his family sheltered from Hamas rocket fire in their hotel's interior stairwell until early Sunday morning, when they were able to safely depart for New York," Kanter noted in a statement last month.

Republican's pro-Israel sign defaced in House office building

A pro-Israel sign above the nameplate of Rep. Tim Walberg's (R-Mich.) Washington, D.C., office was apparently defaced with red handprints, a photo shared on social media shows.

"We've seen many examples of Hamas sympathizers ripping down posters of innocent hostages. Now, right here in the House office buildings, we see more cowardly acts of vandalism targeting those standing against terrorism. This only strengthens our resolve. I #StandWithIsrael," a post containing the photo of the vandalized pro-Israel sign reads.

"This is yet another despicable act which should not be tolerated," Walberg stated in a press release, according to Fox News Digital. "At a time like this, we must think of our Jewish community members, including those on my staff, who are enduring this targeted behavior and harassment following the largest attack on Jews since the Holocaust."

A tweet earlier this week showed the unmarred "I STAND WITH ISRAEL" sign hanging above the congressman's name plate. "On October 7, 1000+ innocent Israelis were brutally murdered by Hamas. The world should be united in condemning this terror and helping deter future attacks. We must also condemn the anti-Semitism, threats, and lies that have erupted worldwide. I #StandWithIsrael," the tweet read.

The lawmaker's office said they had contacted U.S. Capitol Police regarding the matter, Fox News Digital reported.

Walberg was one of the 412 House lawmakers who voted in favor of passing a resolution voicing support for Israel and condemning Hamas' war against the Jewish state. "The barbarity carried out by Hamas is unthinkable, and those defending it should be ashamed," Walberg noted in a post on X.

'Decolonization' activists vandalize  monuments in 4 states over Thanksgiving

Monuments were vandalized in four U.S. states over the Thanksgiving holiday, and several were marked with graffiti referring to the LANDBACK campaign for "decolonization" that seeks to return lands to indigenous people.

In one city, businesses were also targeted and covered in anti-Thanksgiving, anti-capitalist messages.

What are the details?

A statue of President Abraham Lincoln was splashed with red paint in a park in Spokane, Washington, while in Minneapolis, a statue of President George Washington was toppled.

Fox News reported that a group called the Pan-Indigenous People's Liberation claimed responsibility for damaging the monument to President Washington, along with the defacing of the "Pioneer Statue" in another Minneapolis park that was graffitied with messages that read, "no more genocide," decolonize," and "land back."

Activists in Chicago launched an unsuccessful attempt at toppling a statue of President William McKinley, but left it covered in red spray paint, according to the Daily Mail.

In Portland, Oregon, several businesses were hit by vandals. Pictures of the damage show broken storefront windows and multiple buildings sprayed with the words "land back," "stolen land," "no thanks, no giving," and "colonizer."

Extensive damage was also done to a monument in the city.

USA Today reported:

A monument at Portland's Lone Fir Cemetery, dedicated in 1903 to the veterans of the Civil War, Mexican, Spanish, and Indian wars, was tagged with anti-colonialism graffiti and its statue toppled and sprayed with red paint.
Photos of the vandalism spread on social media on Thanksgiving Day, though police did not immediately confirm the reports.
Good morning to everyone but colonizers. Especially this one who seems to be having a particularly rough morning do… https://t.co/xoFR8pfj18

The LANDBACK campaign, a project of the NDN Collective, lists four demands on its website's "manifesto":

Dismantle — white supremacy structures that forcefully removed us from our Lands and continue to keep our Peoples in oppression.
a. Bureau of Land Management, National Parks Service

Defund — white supremacy and the mechanisms and systems that enforce it and disconnect us from stewardship of the Land.
a. Police, military industrial complex, Border Patrol, ICE

Return — All public lands back into Indigenous hands.

Consent — Moving us out of an era of consultation and into a new era of policy around Free and Prior Informed Consent.
The campaign also states:
The closure of Mount Rushmore, return of that land and all public lands in the Black Hills, South Dakota is our cornerstone battle, from which we will build out this campaign. Not only does Mount Rushmore sit in the heart of the sacred Black Hills, but it is an international symbol of white supremacy and colonization.
