The White House, While Defending Biden’s Mental State, Sent Interview Questions For Approval, Radio Host Claims
'The questions were sent in to me for approval. I approved them'
CNN anchor Victor Blackwell confronted a top Biden administration official on Tuesday over the glaring lack of transparency from the Biden administration on President Joe Biden's classified documents scandal.
On Tuesday, CBS News reported the FBI conducted a search of Biden's private Washington office after his personal attorney made the initial discovery of classified documents on Nov. 2. It's not clear why Biden's attorneys, the White House, and the DOJ previously refused to disclose the search.
After White House communications director Kate Bedingfield claimed the White House has been "transparent from the onset," Blackwell had just one question: How can you be transparent if you aren't forthcoming with basic details?
"You are claiming transparency, but I am bringing this to you, you aren't bringing it to me," he said. "This happened in mid-November. If you are, indeed, being transparent, why the continued trickle of disclosure around these classified documents?"
Unfortunately, Bedingfield completely ignored the question. Instead, she emphasized Biden's cooperation with the Justice Department.
"We have released multiple statements from the White House, and President Biden's personal attorney has released multiple statements over the last month, walking through the process and agreeing to be fully, fully cooperative with the Justice Department," she responded. "This is a process that plays out.
"We have been clear from the outset that the president will cooperate with every request the Justice Department has and we put out multiple statements describing that process," she added.

According to CBS News, the FBI searched Biden's private office, the one he used before becoming president, sometime in "mid-November" after the initial Nov. 2 discovery.
It's not clear what the FBI found — if agents found additional classified documents — and it's not clear which exact day the FBI conducted its search, whether it was before or after the Nov. 8 midterm election.
The refusal to disclose the search is odd. When the Justice Department searched Biden's private residence in Wilmington, Delaware, last month, the search was announced the next day. Moreover, Biden's personal attorney announced Wednesday that the FBI was searching Biden's vacation home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, the same day of the search.
The refusal to disclose basic timeline facts has led to widespread speculation of non-negligent malfeasance.

CNN's Alisyn Camerota is garnering left-wing kudos after grilling a Republican lawmaker from Texas on why his state can "protect the unborn embryo" through abortion restrictions but not "living, breathing 10-year-olds" in the wake of the mass killing of 19 children in an elementary school in Uvalde on Tuesday.
Camerota and Victor Blackwell, anchors for CNN Newsroom, on Wednesday asked Texas state Rep. James White what the Texas legislature should do in response to heartbreaking murders at Robb Elementary School.
After replying that lawmakers should let authorities conduct an investigation and then going over the timeline of the atrocity, a clearly agitated Camerota interrupted White and hit the lawmaker with a double-whammy "gotcha" question that appeared to campaign for abortion rights and gun control simultaneously.
“What we want to know is what your solution is,” Camerota said to White, adding that "we’ve all seen how quickly and creatively Texas — your local legislature — can act when it wants to ... protect the unborn embryo. Why not act with that alacrity to protect living, breathing 10-year-olds in this school behind me?”
Camerota continued in activist mode as she suggested to the lawmaker with a raised voice, "Use that same blueprint that you use for your abortion law, make there be waiting periods, make them have to come back to the scene more than once, make them have to answer questions. Why can't you protect living 10-year-olds?"
She presumably was referring to Texas' 2021 law prohibiting abortions as early as six weeks or once a fetal heartbeat is detected; it also allows lawsuits against those who perform abortions.
White replied that "we have this thing called the Constitution" and added that authorities need to pay attention to "these young men, for some reason, that have some very disturbed emotional state. We need to look at our mental health system.”
Blackwell interrupted White and asked for evidence that mental health played a role in the Uvalde massacre, telling him that Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said "there is no known connection to mental health illness. The statement from the NRA — you have a 92 percent rating from the NRA, you're a lifetime member — they say that this was the act of a lone, deranged criminal. There was no evidence that there was mental illness.”
White argued back that "deranged" would seem to indicate a mental health problem and that lawmakers are going to "look at everything.”
But Blackwell — perhaps sensing White was on the ropes — interrupted him again: "Are you gonna look at the guns?"
White said yes and added that "we're going to look at the people who do these acts, we’re going to convict them, and we’re going to punish them."
An excited Camerota jumped back in and said, "You can’t convict him, sir. You can’t convict him. He was killed. He was killed, along with 19 children in the school behind me.”

After word spread about the interview, leftists on Twitter cheered loudly for Camerota and for Blackwell:
CNN anchor Alisyn Camerota lamented Wednesday that she is fresh out of ideas on how Joe Rogan should atone for his transgressions.
Rogan addressed new controversy on his podcast this week that centers on him using the N-word in old podcast episodes. The podcasts were on the internet for years but only became a problem last week.
"In a lot of ways ... all this is a relief,” Rogan said, adding that the video of him using the N-word had always been on the internet.
"This is a political hit job. And so they’re taking all this stuff that I’ve ever said that’s wrong and smushing it all together," Rogan added. "It’s good 'cause it makes me address some s**t that I really wish wasn’t out there."
Reacting to Rogan's declaration that he is the target of a "political hit job," Camerota said, "Well, I'll admit, I'm out of ideas for what to do about Joe Rogan."
"I'm officially out of ideas," she added.

Camerota's colleague, co-anchor Victor Blackwell, responded by questioning Rogan's motives for apologizing.
"I’m confused by both 'it’s always been out there, but this is a political hit job. It feels good that it's out, but then also I really need to address this,'" Blackwell said. "I mean, it seems like there are at least three different narratives that are coming here."
"Listen, I think that he's saying out loud things that we want people who are caught doing horrible things to say, which is, 'I'm going to do better, I feel ashamed of this, I'm sorry about this.' And so I think that all of that is great," Camerota responded. "I think that where there's the misalignment is that, basically he just said, 'How dumb are you if you're taking medical advice from me,' OK? I posed that same question about Joe Rogan. The people who were taking medical advice from him, how dumb are they? But he has this huge platform that does influence, you know, millions of people. So there's a misalignment between this sort of personal responsibility and the size of his platform."
In the end, Blackwell said that Rogan's COVID controversy is a "separate conversation" from his use of the N-word, but again questioned the sincerity of Rogan's apology.
"We'll see if there's accountability — not cancellation, which some people conflate — accountability," Blackwell added.
Camerota — the same CNN employee who repeatedly voiced outrage over Jeff Zucker's ouster — learned quickly that, in fact, no one was asking for her opinion on Rogan.
But if people were, critics had a poignant answer to Camerota's problem: Do your job or turn off the podcast if you do not like Rogan.
Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Texas) fact-checked a CNN host in real time Tuesday after the host repeated misleading claims that Border Patrol agents were using whips to corral Haitian migrants at the southern U.S. border.
Cuellar — the congressional Democrat who has been the most outspoken about the border crisis — rebuffed CNN host Victor Blackwell for perpetuating misinformation about Border Patrol agents.
Blackwell accused Border Patrol agents, "mounted on horseback," of "charging or chasing" migrants. He said one agent "appear[ed] to use what looks like a rope or lasso" against the migrants.
"Well, you know, certainly, we got to make sure we treat all the immigrants with respect and dignity," Cuellar said. "But I will say this: Border Patrol has had those horse brigades for a while, they've had them for a while, number one."
"Number two, they don't carry whips and they do not carry lassos," Cuellar continued. "I think the picture you're talking about, at least the one I've seen is the rein, the rein of the horses."

When pressed by Blackwell whether horse reins should be used against the migrants, Cuellar advertised caution against assuming the worst of Border Patrol agents.
"Well, again, if there was a problem, it should be investigated, and I think that's it. But we cannot paint the Border Patrol with that same type of paintbrush," Cuellar said. "Look, you know, what are they supposed to do? Just stand there and let everybody come in?"
"You know, they're supposed to be enforcing the law," he continued. "But again, as to how you enforce the law, you got to make sure you treat people with dignity and respect."
Pictures show that mounted Border Patrol agents maintaining security in Del Rio were not using whips, ropes, or lassos against the migrants. As Cuellar pointed out, agents were photographed holding the reins used to control a horse.

Unfortunately for the anti-Border Patrol narrative, it's difficult to draw conclusions about behavior of Border Patrol agents from photographs, for they are missing the context necessary to ascertain what actually happened. While a few images purportedly suggest misbehavior, video does not irrefutably corroborate what Democrats and some media members have suggested.
In the above photo, for example, the mounted Border Patrol agent appears to be guiding his horse by tugging on the rein, not using the rein against the migrant.
Still, the Department of Homeland Security has promised a swift investigation into actions of the mounted Border Patrol agents.
