'It's gangland': AOC's district is an open-air market for guns, prostitution, and illegal vendors

All eyes are on the New York district represented by Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez after a group of violent, illegal alien gang members were arrested by federal authorities.

Eight members of the18th Street gang — a transnational gang started by Mexicans — were pulled off of Roosevelt Avenue in Queens, New York, an area in AOC's district that is now rife with gang activity and illegal migrants.

The suspects, seven of whom are illegal immigrants, are accused of unleashing terror in Queens through "assaults, extortion," drug trafficking, and more, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz told Fox News.

This is just the tip of the iceberg, according to locals, who say these gang members are part of a complex network of criminals who have been burrowing into the city for years.

'Roosevelt Avenue is like a completely different world — fake passports, guns, prostitution, all out in the open.'

A sense of safety is now considered a luxury in Queens, as constant outbreaks of violence and theft have permeated the streets. In a game of "pick your perennial poison" on Roosevelt Avenue, New Yorkers get to experience the third world through a bevy of prostitutes, illegal street vendors, and hotels packed to the brim with illegal immigrants paid for by their own tax dollars.

As they rubberneck their way down their own streets, citizens also need to keep a firm grip on their electronics as cellphone-snatching illegal aliens whisk by on scooters.

"At their peak, migrant gangs in Midtown Manhattan were pulling off 10 to 15 robberies a day," said investigative reporter and New Yorker Oren Levy.

"The phone-snatching scooter crews alone hit 30 to 40 victims daily, swooping in like vultures to snatch phones and vanish before anyone could blink," Levy reported.

Not only are taxpayers footing the bill for the migrant hotels, but the hotels themselves have become operation centers for gang members to gather and coordinate their activities.

Highly organized gangs with specialized crews rob anyone from kids to seniors as they pickpocket, shoplift, and run guns all around Gotham City. These crimes involve GPS trackers, Wi-Fi jamming devices, and encrypted phones to stay under the radar as they conduct home invasions and robberies.

This, all under Ocasio-Cortez's watch, has residents describing the area as the "third world."

"Roosevelt Avenue is like a completely different world — fake passports, guns, prostitution, all out in the open," reporter Levy told Blaze News.

"As someone who actually knows the location, I'll tell you the truth: It's gangland. The city shows up, cleans it up for a moment, and then it all goes right back to the same mess. Nothing ever really changes in gangland," Levy reinforced.

In addition to the crime, the "third-world" feeling on Roosevelt is hammered home by the endless columns of illegal street vendors.

"I understand people want to make a living the right way without hurting anyone, but when you walk down Roosevelt Avenue, vendors line the blocks from one end to the other," Levy explained. "Some of them are completely unsanitary, and at times it looks and feels like a third-world country."

Even the most sophisticated photography is unable to hide the countless vendors who make the streets even tighter and more unsafe for residents.

But public safety is indeed the top priority, according to Rep. Grace Meng (D-N.Y.). Meng told Fox News that "dangerous criminals who commit violent crimes must be held accountable."

There are indeed plenty of those criminals to choose from, according to Levy.

"I've been on the ground there, breaking story after story," he said, pointing to brothels being run out of bodegas and random street stabbings.

A person was even reportedly stabbed for not giving a person a cigarette. "That's the state of Roosevelt," the reporter sadly admitted.

Representatives for Ocasio-Cortez did not reply to Blaze News' request for comment.

'I will kill you': Journalist attacked and threatened by alleged CBS crew member outside Trump arraignment in NYC

A popular video journalist was attacked and threatened by a crew member allegedly working for CBS outside Donald Trump's arraignment in New York City.

The man, described as a sound man for CBS by the Post Millennial, is seen on video grabbing the independent journalist, Oren Levy, by the collar and saying "Don't ever f*** with me!"

As the two men are separated, the man yells at Levy, "I will kill you," followed by relatively inaudible expletives.

"I was filming George Santos in a media scrum and got caught in the middle," Levy told Blaze Media.

"After the guy told Santos he would be his 'judge and jury,' he said to me 'coffee in the middle of a sprint?' and then tried to start intentionally spilling my coffee," Levy explained.

Right before the attack, Levy says he asked the man, "Can you please chill?"

The day following the events, Levy posted a video that seems to corroborate his story. Santos asks, "Is anybody accusing me of something?" A man who appears to be right next to Levy responds to Santos, "Not yet."

"Are you judge and jury?" Santos replies, with the man again responding, "Yeah, as a [inaudible] in New York, I will be."

At the end of the video the same man can be heard saying "Dude, really? Coffee in the middle of a sprint?"

Jay Dow, a correspondent for New York outlet WPIX-TV, claimed in a Twitter post that the incident was spawned by Levy calling the man the N-word.

"What that cell phone did not record was that the guy put his elbow in Dave’s chest and called him the N-word - with a hard GGER," Dow claimed.

"That's a bold claim Jay," Levy replied.

"I see you work for pix 11 . You probably should look me up and see I would never say that. But have him release that since his mic was on," Levy added, while responding in another post saying "that's something I would never do."

A spokesperson for CBS-2/CBS News New York stated that "we do not have any reporters by that name," when asked if the attacker in question, who has been identified on Twitter, worked for CBS-2/CBS News New York.

When asked if it was a sound engineer or crew member, the spokesperson repeated that there are no reporters with that name at the outlet.

Disturbing video shows suspects punch, spit on NYC cops in reaction to arrest on Harlem street: 'Oh, she spit in his face!'

Cellphone video captured people punching and spitting on New York City police officers as they attempted to make an arrest Tuesday evening on an East Harlem street, the New York Post reported.

What are the details?

Felicia Davis, 32, was playing loud music on Madison Avenue near East 105th Street in Manhattan just before 6 p.m. when officers told her to stop, the Post reported, citing cops and police sources.

With that, Davis ran away but left her speakers behind, police told the paper.

When she returned a short time later and refused to provide identification to police, officers tried to take her into custody, authorities added to the Post:

A brawl then erupted as another woman and a man physically attacked the officers, police told the paper.

As police held on to Davis, another woman was seen in the video trying to pull police off her — and even apparently spitting on one of the officers:

One person who seems to be observing the fight can be heard remarking, "Oh, she spit in his face!"

The officer can be seen recoiling from the apparent spitting and then quickly wiping his face with his hand.

The woman who apparently spit on the officer is soon seen punching another officer:

At that point a man dressed in a red hoodie charged at the officer who was getting hit and shoved him backward into a police vehicle:

Soon he was punching that same officer:

When the perp decided he'd had enough and started to run away, cops initially tried to chase him but gave up after a second or two and turned their attention to the other suspects:

What happened to the suspects?

Davis and the other woman who allegedly spit on and punched police — Kimberly Rivera, 33 — were arrested and charged with resisting arrest, disrupting governmental administration, and disorderly conduct, police told the Post.

The male suspect in the red hoodie who apparently shoved and punched an officer was still on the loose Wednesday morning, cops noted to the paper, which added that the male suspect was described as sporting long black hair, black pants, and red shoes.
