Fowl play: American Ornithological Society announces it’s renaming birds to avoid being racist
What’s considered “racist” seems to be an ever-expanding list. Apparently, that list now includes birds. Yes, birds – the avian creatures with beaks and feathered wings.
Citing an NPR article titled, “These American birds and dozens more will be renamed to remove human monikers,” Stu Burguiere reads:
“Get ready to say goodbye to a lot of familiar bird names, like Anna’s hummingbird, Gambel’s quail, Lewis’s woodpecker, Bewick’s wren, Bullock’s oriole, and more. That’s because the American Ornithological Society has vowed to change the English names of all bird species currently named after people, along with any other bird names deemed offensive or exclusionary. The move comes as part of a broader effort to diversify birding and make it more welcoming to people of all races and backgrounds.”
It’s one thing to reconsider bird names that were coined by John James Audubon, for example, who admittedly “said some bad things,” says Stu.
However, they’re renaming “birds that were named after people that they don't think said anything wrong” because “they're worried that at some point, someone might say that something bad came from these people, so they're wiping out all the names right now,” he explains.
Additionally, “they don’t want the names to sound … too European because that’s exclusionary to other people, who might be like, ‘I was going to get into birding because I've always wanted to take binoculars and look around for birds, but then I heard a European name, so I stopped myself,’” mocks Stu. “There's so many people going through that mental process right now.”
The article also references biologist Erica Nol, who was apparently visiting some salt marshes when she came across a bird called a Wilson’s snipe.
Nol thought to herself, “What a terrible name. … Wilson was the father of modern ornithology in North America, but this bird has so many other evocative characteristics.”
Translation: “That’s a crappy name because … his name sounds too European,” says Stu.
“You’d think you’d want the bird named after the guy who's the founding father of modern ornithology, but apparently no, because he was too white. Whitey does not get a name for a bird,” laughs Stu at the utter absurdity of what’s clearly just another example of virtue-signaling.

How Wokeness Puts Its Defenders In A Chokehold — And How To Help Them Out

Bill Maher ignites new controversy when he tells Joe Rogan THIS
Despite what you’ve heard, woke and liberal are not synonymous. We may disagree with both ideologies, but one is equivalent to insanity (surely you know which one we’re talking about).
One person who understands this concept is Bill Maher – a non-woke liberal who isn’t really accepted by the right or the left.
Recently he joined Joe Rogan on "The Joe Rogan Experience" to discuss this very subject – a subject Dave Rubin finds “worth repeating.”
“You're like a '90s liberal,” Rogan said, “like liberals back when they were more reasonable before they became leftists.”
Now “if you want to be on the team, you’ve got to subscribe to the most fringe ideas,” he continues.
Maher agrees, adding that “liberal is a different animal than woke.”
“You can be woke, with all the nonsense that that now implies,” says Maher, “but don't say that somehow is an extension of liberalism…because it's most often actually an undoing of liberalism.”
One of the ideas that separates Maher from the woke crowd is the fact that he has “always believed … in a color-blind society – that the goal is to not see race at all, anywhere, for any reason.”
Unfortunately, leftists “believe race is first and foremost the thing you should always see everywhere,” says Maher.
Rogan agrees, sharing his thoughts on the woke agenda: “I think I understand their idea,” he tells Maher. “The idea is that the society is imbalanced, and so in order to address that imbalance, you're going to prop up as many minorities as possible, make as many opportunities for minorities as possible, and get it to a position where … white people are the minority … and through that, somehow or another, you'll achieve equality.”
A solid synopsis from Rogan that sheds light on the warped wokeist philosophy that inequality is remedied by creating more inequality.
“I think the color-blind way is the way to really, truly achieve equality,” says Rogan, “and to truly judge people just on their merits.”
Dave Rubin loves the conversation but feels he must make something clear.
“If you, Bill Maher, and you, Joe Rogan, want to live in that color-blind society, you cannot vote for Democrats.”

Anti-woke liberal Bill Maher says THIS is when he KNEW the left had lost its way
In a day of political tribalism, Bill Maher is a bit of a rarity. He claims he’s an anti-woke liberal, which is probably why Dave Rubin says he “kind of [makes] sense but also [doesn’t] make sense.”
“How liberals can be on the wrong side of this issue is the biggest mind boggler for me,” he told Sharon Osbourne on an episode of “Club Random with Bill Maher.”
What is this mind-boggling issue Maher speaks of?
It actually dates all the way back to September 11, 2001, when the United States suffered the worst terrorist attack in the country’s history.
Maher apparently criticized the part of traditional Muslim culture that discourages education for women and demands they cover every part of their bodies, including their faces.
“Somehow when I criticize traditional Muslim societies for the way they engage in what you have to call gender apartheid – putting f****** bags over women's heads … I'm the bad guy,” he says.
The early wokeists apparently called him “Islamophobic” – or “whatever bullsh** word you wanna call it,” he adds.
“That’s when I knew they had lost their way,” he admits.

Republicans Must Stand Strong On The NDAA Amid Biden’s Woke War On The Military
Country star Luke Combs VILLAINIZED as a white supremacist over Tracy Chapman cover
If you’re a country music fan, then you already know that Luke Combs’ “Fast Car” cover continues to top the charts weeks after its release.
And if you’re not a country music fan, then surely you remember Tracy Chapman’s 1988 award-winning song “Fast Car.” Luke Combs, a major country star, recently released a cover of the song, claiming that it was one of the first songs he learned to play on the guitar and that singing it reminds him of spending time with his dad.
How selfish and terrible of him.
That’s how the left is painting the picture anyway.
Emily Yahr, a Washington Post reporter, tweeted:
Yahr’s claim that Chapman wouldn’t have been able to achieve the success Combs’ has seen is quite frankly a flagrant lie and an insult to Chapman’s actual achievements.
Twitter’s fact-checking system revealed that “‘Fast Car’ by Tracy Chapman was nominated for 3 Grammy awards, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year. She won for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and Best New Artist.”
The truth is this wouldn't be problematic if Tracy wasn’t a queer black woman and Luke wasn’t a straight white man.
“This white guy,” Dave Rubin mocks, who “must somehow also be a white supremacist,” is “going to make a whole bunch of money and win a whole bunch of awards on this Tracy Chapman song and she couldn’t. Oh, but she did win a whole bunch of awards and she became super rich on it.”
Not to mention she will make even more money on residuals because a famous country star loved her song so much that he decided to do a cover of it.
But here’s the best part:
Tracy Chapman herself has shown nothing but support for Luke.
“I never expected to find myself on the country charts,” she told People, “but I’m honored to be there.”
“I’m happy for Luke and his success and grateful that new fans have found and embraced ‘Fast Car,”’ she said.
“Everybody’s making money, everybody gets to hear more of her songs,” and “Washington Post – the machine, the corporate press machine – decides to make it about race and racism and opening up conversations about queer blah blah blah,” Rubin ridicules.
“And it’s all B.S.”
