Inmate escapes into woods, manhunt commences; 3 days later, gun owner encounters fugitive outside his home

A Georgia homeowner on Thursday detained at gunpoint an inmate who had escaped into the woods and had been on the run for three days.

The Towns County Sheriff's Office said 39-year-old inmate Bruce Douglas Partin Jr. was on work detail Monday at the county dump when he escaped into the woods on Highway 288 around 2:30 p.m.

But Kirby had a gun on him, and authorities said he drew his weapon and ordered Partin to the ground. Partin complied.

The sheriff’s office deployed a drone and K-9 tracking dog with no success. Authorities said Partin was being housed in the Towns County Detention Center and was awaiting a court appearance on the following charges: purchase, possession, manufacture, distribution or sale of marijuana; theft by taking; probation violation; and burglary.

Authorities added that Partin was spotted on a trail camera at the end of Ivy Mountain Road in the Fodder Creek area Tuesday around 1:20 p.m. The sheriff's office Facebook post includes a pair of images showing Partin in the woods.

The sheriff's office added that Georgia State Patrol, Georgia Bureau of Investigation, and the Department of Natural Resources all utilized every resource, including aerial patrol and K-9 units, to assist with the search for and capture of Partin. Authorities added that he was still at large as of 4:40 p.m. Tuesday.

Captured

The sheriff's office said a resident on Fodder Creek Road in the Gander Gap area spotted Partin in his orange jail uniform around 5:15 p.m. Thursday and called 911. With that, authorities said sheriff's deputies saturated the area in search of the suspect.

About two hours later, the sheriff's office said Steven Kirby — a resident who lives on Vester Road — was inside his home when Odie, his labradoodle, began aggressively alerting him to someone outside the residence.

The sheriff's office said Kirby went outside, and Partin — who's 6 feet, 4 inches tall — confronted him. But Kirby had a gun on him, and authorities said he drew his weapon and ordered Partin to the ground. Partin complied.

An image on the sheriff's Facebook page shows Kirby pointing a gun at Partin, who's facedown on the ground with his ankles crossed and his hands behind his back.

Authorities said Kirby’s wife, Amy, called 911, and sheriff’s deputies quickly arrived on the scene to take Partin into custody just after 7 p.m. Online maps indicate Partin was captured around six miles southwest of the area where he made his escape.

The sheriff's office said Kirby noted that he's committed to protecting his family and property from harm.

Authorities said Sheriff Ken Henderson expressed gratitude toward the Fodder Creek community for their vigilance and assistance, but most of all to Kirby for his courage and willingness to act: “It is truly a pleasure to work in a community where we can count on the ongoing support of citizens like Mr. Kirby to stand behind us and, in cases like this, even physically aid us when necessary."

What's more, the Kirby family on Friday received the $500 reward offered for information leading to Partin's arrest — and Steven Kirby and his dog Odie got a commendation.

"Sheriff Henderson strongly supports the 2nd Amendment and the right to bear arms and was thankful that Mr. Kirby's instincts kicked in, and he went above and beyond to not only protect his family and property but his community as well," the sheriff's office Facebook entry said.

Phil Robertson: If you're pro-left-wing ideology, you're anti-God

If you're pro-left-wing ideology, you're anti-God, BlazeTV host Phil Robertson said on this episode of "In the Woods with Phil."

"If you're pro-Karl Marx, you've replaced God with Karl Marx, some kind of economic, atheistic, unbelieving fool. I mean, he's been responsible for the deaths of millions. The father of communism, father of socialism. ... You can't be pro-God unless you're anti-Marxism," Phil stated.

"If you're pro-ideology and your ideology becomes more important than the scriptures that God wrote, you're anti-God," he added. "If you're pro-left-wing ideology, that automatically puts you in a group that's anti-God."

Phil Robertson: This wicked, corrupt bunch and their 'Great Society' will NEVER save us

What would happen to the crime rate if we all just loved God and loved each other? What would happen to all the anger and corruption and wickedness?

On this episode of "In the Woods," Phil Roberson invoked a lesson from the Bible to illustrate the ways political "evildoers" make false promises about how they will help the poor and the downtrodden. But true salvation can be found only when you put your faith in Jesus and your love in God.

Phil Robertson: 'Are you going to go with these left-wingers hollering about there's no God?'

Faith comes from hearing the message, and "In the Woods" host Phil Robertson has a powerful message for the left-wingers he says are "hollering about there's no God."

"You better listen up if you're a human being or you're going to miss the train," Phil said.

Phil read from Matthew 20:17-19:

Now Jesus was going up to Jerusalem. On the way, he took the Twelve aside and said to them, "We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will hand him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day, he will be raised to life!"

"I'm with the ones who saw it and heard Him," Phil said. "And I believe it. Faith comes from hearing the message — the message that saves you, the person. Jesus came down to save you from your sin, and from the grave for crying out loud. You want eternity? Well, here it is. Are you going to go with these left-wingers hollering about there's no God? Pathetic ... C'mon, America!"

'This is about LIFE and IMMORTALITY.' - Phil Robertson

Brotherly kindness and loving our neighbor is not so difficult, says In the Woods host Phil Robertson.

In 2 Peter 1:5-8, the Bible says,

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.

For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins.

Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

So I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are firmly established in the truth you now have. I think it is right to refresh your memory as long as I live in the tent of this body, because I know that I will soon put it aside, as our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me. And I will make every effort to see that after my departure you will always be able to remember these things.

Phil shared this passage to emphasize the importance of knowing that Christianity offers a promise that those who know Jesus Christ will never die. Though the physical body dies, the eternal soul lives on.

"This is about life and immortality," Phil said. "Be good," he noted.

Phil Robertson: Today's cancel culture crowd makes one BIG mistake

On BlazeTV's "In the Woods," host Phil Robertson talked about the one big mistake today's cancel culture crowd is making and reminded listeners that "without mercy, there's never any forgiveness."

Phil started out by reading 2 Timothy 3:1-5:

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days.
People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,
without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good,
treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—
having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people

Phil went on to draw a comparison with Matthew 5:3-10:

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

"So those are the two kinds of people," Phil pointed out.

"So, instead of being so judgmental — somebody said that's the number one thing on Facebook. I've never actually looked at it, you know, but they say that the number one thing is everybody is ripping everybody else, just ripping them to shreds. And this goes on ad hominem, every day, every night. It's just ripping each other. ... How about a little mercy coming out of you folks? Just a little bit?" he continued.

"Great is your reward, if you're merciful. Don't forget that when you run up on the cancel culture crowd," Phil added.

"You're condemning yourself because you who pass judgment do the same things. Remember, all of us make mistakes."

'They ALL have one thing in common, they bring nations DOWN': Phil Robertson shares biblical warning for our nation's future

On BlazeTV's "In the Woods," host Phil Robertson argued there are only two kinds of people in the world: "the good and the evil." You're either one or the other, he said, so you'd better figure out which one and not follow the "satanic creeds" of today's ruling class.

Phil started out with sharing Psalm 1:

Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,
Nor stand in the path of sinners,
Nor sit in the seat of mockers!
But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water,

Which yields its fruit in its season
And its leaf does not wither;
And in whatever he does, he prospers.
The wicked are not so,

But they are like chaff which the wind drives away.
Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
Nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
For the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
But the way of the wicked will perish.

"The Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish," Phil stated. "Why do the nations rage and the people plot in vain? ... I had a history professor document all the empires that there ever have been. Every last one of them has collapsed. [In an] average of 200 years, most empires are gone. A few lasted longer, but all of them collapsed before us. Well, look around. You're being introduced to socialism each and every day in the United States of America. We've embraced it, and now we rage and plot in vain."

He continued, "Be wise. Be warned, you rulers of the earth. North Korea, China. Iran. America, Russia — all these rulers, they all have one thing in common, they bring nations down ... just think about what most of them would say, the rulers, if you get a hundred of them together and they heard this little speech I'm giving you today. They would scoff and say, 'this idiot, talking about the God of judgment.' ... We have these cultures now, including the United States, that decided they don't love the Lord anymore, and they certainly don't fear Him."

'It's a sad thing to watch': Phil Robertson reveals how lack of discipline is KILLING America

On Saturday's episode of "In the Woods," BlazeTV host Phil Robertson explained why he believes a lack of discipline and a culture of disrespect for everything and everybody is destroying America.

"Respect for the old graybeards like me — it's gone — and respect for mom and dad," Phil said. "America's family structure is in collapse-mode right now, and it's a sad thing to watch. Their offspring, they were never taught to respect their elders, law enforcement, government officials, older people ... they don't know what respect is because they were never taught, trained, or disciplined."

Phil shared a verse from the Bible: "No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it." (Hebrews 12:11).

"When discipline flies away, so does respect for others," Phil added. "We're dying in America because of lack of discipline."

Phil Robertson: MANHOOD is slipping AWAY

In this episode of "In the Woods with Phil," Phil Robertson's toothache reminded him of the time his father used a pair of pliers to casually extract his own tooth — all while playing a game of dominoes. Phil said his dad didn't even miss a beat during the game, he just tossed the tooth out into the yard and kept playing.

"Manhood is beginning to slip," Phil observed, comparing his own dental experience complete with antibiotics, anesthetics, and "only one" pain pill.
