Leftists are planning to swarm Atlanta's 'Cop City.' Chatter suggests things might go sideways despite nonviolence pledge.

Leftist groups hellbent on stopping the construction of the new $90 million police training center in Dekalb County's South River Forest have launched a "Week of Action to Stop Cop City." While much of the proposed "action" appears to consist of harassing contractors, protesting suspected terrorists' arraignment, and kvetching about the movement's fatal failures, the week will culminate in a swarming of the Atlanta Public Safety Training Center on Nov. 13.

"Block Cop City" organizers have indicated the siege will be nonviolent, notwithstanding their stated support of "all forms of protest and organizing" and refusal to distinguish between "good/bad or legitimate/illegitimate protest or action." However, there has been chatter on the related anonymous anarchist site "Scenes from the Atlanta Forest" indicating not all anarchists are willing to hold to the nonviolence directive.

What's the background?

The training center for police, firefighters, and partner agencies is being built on 85 acres of land near Constitution and Key Roads and is slated to open toward the end of 2024.

While the facility will provide an opportunity for first responders to hone their skills and improve their offering to the public, some leftist critics have suggested it will amount to a "war base where police will learn military-like maneuvers to kill black people and control our bodies and movements." Others, particularly radical environmentalists, have condemned the use of the forest for purposes other than camping or hiking.

Members of the opposition have conducted firebombings on police officers and law enforcement offices; attacks on firefighters and medics; sabotage on construction equipment; and intimidation efforts at the home of at least one state trooper. One leftist even made the fatal mistake of shooting a Georgia state trooper in the gut.

Gov. Brian Kemp (R) noted earlier this year that "domestic terrorism will NOT be tolerated in this state. ... We will not rest until those who use violence and intimidation for an extremist end are brought to justice."

Kemp and his administration have made good on this vow in recent months.

Dozens of radicals, including a Southern Poverty Law Center attorney, have been charged in connection to the so-called "Stop Cop City" movement.

Three dozen have been hit with domestic terrorism charges. Three have been hit with felony intimidation charges for reportedly distributing flyers accusing a state trooper of being a "murderer" for killing a violent extremist. Three radicals involved with the Atlanta Solidarity Fund were charged in May with charities fraud and money laundering.

Anarchists share how-to bomb guides for nonviolent protest

The leftist blog Truthout indicated that in recent months, officials have made the construction site "impenetrable" and have successfully forced trespassers out of the forest. This is apparently a serious setback for those activists desperate to see constructed halted.

While the question of whether to put an end to the construction of the facility could possibly make it onto the ballot in the 2024 election, leftists don't want to leave it up to the voting public, noting, "Whatever happens at the ballot box will be too late."

"Block Cop City" organizers indicated that on Nov. 13, "a large, determined group will make their way into the Weelaunee Forest and the Cop City construction site, and will non-violently halt construction. By shutting down construction, we will open up new possibilities. Machines will become murals, the clearcut wasteland will be filled with art and music, and we will take the first steps of a long healing process by planting trees wherever they've been cut."

Elements inside the "Stop Cop City" movement have criticized the organizers' call for non-violence, suggesting the publicly stated Nov. 13 plan is "counter-revolutionary, poorly planned, ... stupid and liberal."

A flyer circulated on the "Scenes from the Atlanta Forest" criticizes the nonviolence directive, stressing anarchists don't believe in nonviolence and that claiming otherwise "is to act like a politician."

"As anarchists, we want to promote self-organization that increases conflict with the State and the advocates of reform and recuperation. This can include a myriad of different activities that are technically 'non-violent,' but it does not include a deliberate strategy of nonviolence," said the flyer, adding, "We suggest experimentation with more precise and more imaginative targets."

In addition to condemning nonviolence and sharing various guides detailing best-practices for destroying and vandalizing property, anonymous posters on the site have in recent days called for or at the very least paved the way for acts of wanton destruction.

One poster wrote, "Everyone shut up and go set some s*** on fire, or destroy something, break a symbolic f***ing window even."

Another post on the site provided a 1969 U.S. Army handbook on improved munitions along with a digital copy of "The Anarchist Arsenal: Improved Incendiary and Explosive Techniques" and a guide on how to make a remotely-activated device with a callback to a Slavic usage. The latter is especially concerning.

Peter Hemerlein, a veteran with over 17 years of experience as a bomb tech — who built and ran an explosives lab for IEDs out of Helmand Province, Afghanistan — told Blaze News, "Writer has not been formally trained on explosives or electronics, but appears to have first hand experience as indicated by 'tips and tricks.' The circuit will function as described."

"The circuit can also be minimally and simply modified to function in just about any other manner of victim action. Stepping on a switch, picking something up, moving something, opening a mailbox, etc., (in addition to cell-phone initiation)," said Hemerlein.

"The writer references triaceton triperoxide. H202 or TATP is no joke and super easy to make," added Hemerlein. "All explosives are measured off their TNT equivalent 'detonation force.' C4 is 1.4TNTEQ. TATP can be made as high as 1.7TNTEQ if done correctly."

The prospect that various elements of the anarchist outfit are not committed to nonviolence takes on a new dimension given this understanding.

Another poster shared an Oct. 24 Associated Press report detailing how Atlanta is presently facing a firefighter and fire truck shortage, intimating with thought emojis that this presents an opportunity.

Radicals have made no secret of where beside the construction site they might strike, having created a target map showing companies and organizations "complicit in the Cop City project." There is also a link on the "Scenes from the Atlanta Forest" site to a page providing personal information on police officers, APD board of trustees members, Fulton County clerks, contractors involved in the construction of the training facility, and others.

A spokesman for Gov. Kemp told Blaze News, "As we have shown in the past, Georgia will respect the right of all Americans to peacefully protest — but we will not allow violent offenders and domestic terrorists to break the law without swift consequences. We will continue to remain vigilant against any threats and in contact with our local partners as this week's planned events go on."

Blaze News asked Democratic Rep. Williams, who represents Georgia's 5th Congressional District, whether she had concerns about the constituents' safety in or out of uniform with regards to the Nov. 13 protest. She did not respond by deadline.

Radical anti-'Cop City' activist arrested after allegedly slamming stolen vehicle into traffic and sending truck flying

A prominent critic of the Atlanta Public Safety Training Center unwittingly provided yet another justification for its development and the presence of more well-trained police in the area. On Friday, Matthew V. Johnson Jr., the interim executive director of the leftist Beloved Community Ministries in Atlanta, was arrested and charged with reckless driving, speeding, felony theft by taking, and hit-and-run.

According to the police report obtained by the Daily Caller, surveillance footage at the Express Oil & Tire shop in Atlanta, Georgia, shows Johnson taking the keys of a stranger's 2013 Mercedes C-class vehicle on Sept. 29. The owner of the car had dropped it off hoping to get his brakes fixed.

Johnson, who appears to have had multiple run-ins with the law in the past, allegedly made his way outside and pressed the key fob to locate the vehicle. Upon finding the corresponding car, Johnson got in and sped away, according to police.

Just moments into the driver's rampage, police indicated Johnson slammed into two vehicles at 356 Moreland Ave. SE, indirectly impacting two additional vehicles. Traffic camera footage appears to show that Johnson flipped a truck, sending it careening into oncoming traffic and injuring the driver.

Johnson allegedly fled the incident on foot.

Arresting officers quickly caught up with the suspect and detained him. According to the arrest report, Johnson refused to disclose his name to officers, electing instead to sit smiling in silence.

WSB-TV reported that employees of the car shop later expressed gratitude that the radical leftist didn't end up killing anyone during his alleged rampage.

— (@)

The Daily Caller noted that apparent maniac driver has made no secret of his desire to see fewer police in his community.

In a recent open letter denouncing the police training center and excoriating black clergymen who refuse to side with the radical opposition, Johnson revealed his deep-seated antipathy for law enforcement, identitarian outlook, and radical views.

Johnson defended the leftist militant who was put down after reportedly shooting a Georgia State Patrol trooper in the gut; claimed to be caught in a struggle "at the intersection of climate change, police militarization, racialized police violence, and environmental racism"; and referred to the BLM riots as "George Floyd Rebellions." Furthermore, he underscored his refusal to "publicly condemn property destruction of equipment" by leftist militants and painted Antifa guerillas as protectors.

Johnson also intimated in the letter that "Cop City" is racist because graduates will help police Atlanta, which saw 170 murders last year and has a 3 rating on the Neighborhood Scout crime index (where 100 is safest).

"Police are the frontliners to reinforce these social injustices that rich and powerful private interests reify by expenditure in government and law enforcement," wrote the leftist minister. "The reason why people have such hostile feelings toward the police is an understanding that they are not being mobilized to keep people safe but more so to protect ill-gotten private property and enforce a legal system that devours the poor, setting them up for continued exploitation."

The race-focused leftist has not limited his criticism of the first responder training center to the one letter, having reportedly long defended the militant opposition to its construction..

Leftists outfits have long campaigned against the construction of the new $90 million police training center in Dekalb County's South River Forest, employing terroristic tactics to get their way.

Members of the opposition have conducted firebombings on police officers and law enforcement offices; attacks on firefighters and medics; sabotage on construction equipment; and intimidation efforts at the home of at least one state trooper.

In September, Georgia's Attorney General Chris Carr indicted 61 radicals under the state's Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act last month.

TheBlaze reported that all of those indicted were members of Defend the Atlanta Forest, which Carr's office characterized as an "anarchist, anti-police, and anti-business extremist organization."

Carr said in press conference concerning the charges, "As the indictment asserts, members of Defend the Atlanta Forest subscribe to a philosophy of anarchy. They hold a core belief that society should abolish police, government, and private business, and as further alleged, they're willing to bring about such changes 'by any means necessary,'" reported the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Previously, three dozen radicals involved in the movement had been slapped with domestic terrorism charges; three were hit with felony intimidation charges for reportedly distributing flyers accusing a state trooper of being a "murderer" for killing a violent extremist; and three radicals involved with the Atlanta Solidarity Fund were charged in May with charities fraud and money laundering.

Far-left Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler is asked why 'white supremacists' share blame with 'anarchists' for city violence, destruction. His reply is a doozy.

In the wake of more left-wing violence and destruction in Portland over the weekend, left-wing Mayor Ted Wheeler was asked during a virtual news conference why "white supremacists" share the blame with "anarchists" for criminal behavior in the streets of Portland — even though all the lawlessness consistently points to Antifa and Black Lives Matter militants.

Wheeler admitted as much in his response — but made sure to emphasize the huge problem of "white nationalism" on a national level, which didn't explain why.

What are the details?

KATU-TV noted that Monday's conference concerned "ongoing criminal destruction, violence and intimidation small groups of self-described anarchists and white supremacists continue to inflict on local businesses, neighborhoods and people."

Alex Zielinski, news editor of the Portland Mercury, asked Wheeler why a news release announcing the news conference mentioned "anarchists and white supremacists" as a problem when only far-left militant criminal activity had been detailed during the news conference.

Wheeler began by saying he'd defer to the Portland Police Bureau for examples of "recent white supremacist actions" in the city — and then acknowledged the accuracy of the reporter's assessment while offering a response only a politician could give.

"We are in a time of political extremes," Wheeler began, admitting that during the news conference city leaders are discussing "criminal destruction coming from self-described anarchist left."

Then the mayor dropped the bomb on white supremacists — just not white supremacists in Portland, apparently:

"But we also have to acknowledge that in the United States the number-one public safety threat according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation is white nationalism. And we certainly saw elements of that coming to bear during the insurrection at the United States Capitol, and we certainly have to keep up our vigilance here in the City of Portland. I would expect that given that we are largely seen as a progressive community, we will continue to not only have the type of activities that we saw on Friday night continue to some degree, but I would also expect that we will continue to see those who are engaged in intimidation or violence against immigrants, refugees, and people of color to also continue here in the City of Portland because they know they'll get a reaction. We have to be vigilant regardless of the politics involved. There is no room for violence or criminal destruction, and I don't give a damn what your politics are nor should anybody else. It's about the behavior."

It isn't clear if there is any evidence of lawlessness by "white supremacists" in Portland of late, and Wheeler didn't provide any examples.

The reporter's question and Wheeler's answer can be found in the video of the full news conference at the bottom of KATU's story. The relevant portion begins just after the 35-minute mark.

Anything else?

Elsewhere during the news conference, there was plenty of anger at the violence and destruction carried out by the likes of Antifa and Black Lives Matter.

"The misguided and miseducated anarchists reject civility and instead intentionally create mayhem through criminally destructive behavior tearing up our city, and this must stop," former state Sen. Avel Gordly said, according to KATU. "You are not helping. You are hurting Black people. We need peacemakers and peacekeepers."

Wheeler also said. "I'm just hearing loudly and clearly from the community, as I have for months, that they're sick and tired of this criminal destruction. The community at large has already figured out that this has nothing to do with BLM or any other noble causes. This is just about people getting together to break stuff," the station said.

Nothing new, really

Despite being barraged by Antifa and Black Lives Matter militants for the better part of 2020, Wheeler invoked the scourge of apparent "white supremacist" violence on the eve of November's general election.

"Given the heightened concerns about potential violence, particularly from white supremist [sic] organizations and the divisive rhetoric from Washington, D.C., the need for coordination and partnership takes on statewide significance," the mayor said at the time. "Oregon is likely to be a flashpoint."

And despite Antifa militants in Portland last year physically attacking law enforcement, destroying property, ganging up on regular citizens, bullying elderly women, setting fires to buildings, and engaging in numerous forms of mayhem — including murder — on a nightly basis, Portland officials in October got "anti-white supremacy" training due to the "threats" the alt-right and white nationalists apparently pose.

Assault suspect wanted after cops spar with violent militants at homeless encampment. Video appears to show police being abused at will.

Police in Bellingham, Washington, said Monday they're looking for an assault suspect in connection with a mass standoff at a City Hall tent encampment late last month, KGMI-AM reported.

Police also released bodycam video of the standoff, which shows the suspect shouting at and attempting to spit at officers, the station said. She appears to show up — her eyes covered by goggles and her head covered — just after the 2-minute mark.

"You f***ing disgust me!" she yelled before spitting at cops:

A larger male ally soon led her away as she continued to scream, "Lemme at 'em! Lemme at 'em!"

Oh, but this individual appeared to be far from the only troublemaker. The video shows police being abused pretty much at will by the militant leftists.

What else?

In one scene another woman appears to spit at officers:

Then she appears to do it a second time. In the second spitting photo, she appears to be accompanied by the suspect police are after — who this time is dressed in purple:

And at one point a cop firmly told a green-haired woman to 'stop!' after she continually rammed into him. Her comrades just laughed at the order.

During most of the 10-minute video, leftists — besides the spitting — attempted to keep police from advancing on the encampment and consistently push, hit, threaten, and taunt them.

What's the background?

Bellingham officials ordered the removal of the homeless encampment ahead of schedule Jan. 28 after reports of possible violence by "outside agitators" from Portland and other cities.

Officials said public workers were being harassed and that the growing encampment was engulfing the city buildings.

Bellingham Police Department Chief Flo Simon said there were as many as 100 tents in the encampment on city property. Police had responded to calls in relation to the encampment in recent weeks that involved attacks with a baseball bat, a hatchet, and sticks. Simon also said a propane tank ignited a fire at the site.

Several arrests were made amid the skirmishes, and there were reports of some assaulted officers.

Antifa blamed for NYC Republican Club vandalism same day historic group planned Christmas, Hanukkah celebration

Antifa militants are being blamed for vandalism at the historic Metropolitan Republican Club in New York City — not only because the GOP group supports President Donald Trump but also because the club scheduled a celebration of Christmas and Hanukkah the same day, Fox News reported.

What are the details?

The club held its annual "Christmas and Hanukkah Social" on Thursday evening, but the cable network said when members arrived they saw anarchist graffiti and Antifa symbols spray-painted in red across the entrance to the building — along with the phrase, "You're canceled" on the dark double doors:

Image source: Twitter video screenshot via @spotnews_tv

Fox News also said a circle with three arrows — a symbol often used by Antifa based on 1930s German anti-fascist resistance movement symbolism — was spray painted on the sidewalk. In addition, the letters "ACAB" — which stands for "all cops are bastards" — was spray painted on the building, the network said.

Black bags symbolizing dead bodies of non-white COVID-19 victims were left on the sidewalk, Fox News added.

What did the club have to say?

"I am deeply disturbed and disgusted at this attack," club president Ian Walsh Reilly told the cable network, adding that members came together that night "under social guidelines."

"We were then having a celebration of religion — of Christianity and Judaism and their holidays — and that was the date they chose to attack the Met Club," Reilly added to Fox News. "It shows such intolerance from the very people who say they are anti-fascist."

In a Twitter statement, the club called the perpetrators "cowards":

Fox News said New York City police are investigating, and Reilly told the network that four black-clad men clad carried out the deed in the darkness of the early morning.

"We do openly put the words 'Christmas' and 'Hanukkah' in the title of the party because we should be open and honest," he added to Fox News. "This is a celebration of two wonderful religions, and as the club is the most visible symbol of the Republican party in New York City — a city that is becoming more and more intolerant of opposing opinions — I am afraid that is going to continue."

More from the network:

The club was founded in 1902 by Republican reformers who supported President Theodore Roosevelt. In 1930 the club constructed the elegant Federal-style townhouse to serve as its home and has had a long historic role in the city's political life. The club is where two storied Republican mayors announced their successful candidacies for City Hall, Mayor Rudy Giuliani in 1989 and the legendary Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia in the 1930s. Other Republican mayors and governors have also been among its members.

In 2018 anarchists were blamed for smashing some of the club's windows and spray painting graffiti including the letter "A" inside a circle, what is considered an anarchist symbol. Police said a note was left behind that warned "Our attack is merely a beginning. We are not passive, we are not civil, and we will not apologize."

In 2019 two members of the far-right "Proud Boys" were sentenced to four years in prison after a street fight near the club erupted between members of the group and Antifa following an appearance by "Proud Boys" founder Gavin McInnes at the club.

As for how the club members are reacting, Reilly told Fox News they felt "disgust and horror" but "will not be intimidated."

"People were just sad but also defiant," he told the network. "They just wanted to come together and honor our traditions."

He added to Fox News that "we will not be intimidated, and if our vocal and unending support for the NYPD continues to bring this type of hatred upon us, we will not back down from it,."

Brutal brawl erupts between black bloc anarchists and 'Back the Blue' supporters in Washington

There were violent clashes in Washington's capital on Saturday during a "Back the Blue" rally when black bloc anarchists held their own counterprotest.

The Olympia Police Department released a notice: "Large group of opposing protesters started near the Capitol and are now moving through downtown Olympia. Near City Hall. The groups have dispersed into smaller groups and are moving throughout the area. Officers are monitoring to ensure things are peaceful from here forward."

The black bloc anarchists held their own event titled "Squash Fascists." The two groups baited each other throughout the day, as seen in footage from photojournalist Independent Media PDX. The black bloc members burned American flags and the "Back the Blue" supporters retaliated by burning a black umbrella, which many Antifa members carry to conceal their identities.

Anarchists call for 'vengeance' over death of '100% Antifa' militant who fatally shot pro-cop activist in apparent ambush in Portland

Anarchists are calling for "vengeance" and a "week of action" over the death of "100% Antifa" militant Michael Reinoehl who fatally shot a pro-police activist in Portland over the summer in an apparent ambush:

The group's campaign declares, "'Rest in Power Michael Reinoehl. Every revolution needs people who are willing and ready to fight." It also claims Reinoehl was "murdered by the state" at the behest of President Donald Trump — for which the group wants "vengeance."

A "week of action" is planned to commence Thursday all over America in order to "avenge" Reinoehl. Here's more from the press release from the Revolutionary Abolitionist Movement:

This is a call to action and a commemoration for Michael. An injury to one of us is an injury to all. We are calling for people to take actions in their cities, towns, neighborhoods, or homes. Whether banner drops, postering, demonstrations, direct actions, lighting fireworks, commemorations, or whatever creative ideas people come up with; we want the world to know that this will neither be forgotten nor forgiven.

When the State begins targeted assassinations, rule through terror becomes consolidated. Anarchists, antifascists, and all revolutionaries must stand in solidarity against these attacks and against the capitalist, imperialist state— particularly when in the fear of collapse it bares its teeth. We will not be intimidated. We will fight.

While the likes of Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden suggested that Danielson was killed because his fellow Trump supporters were "inciting responses," the Multnomah County district attorney's office released unsealed court documents suggesting Reinoehl targeted Danielson before shots were fired.

Reinoehl said he believed he killed Danielson in self-defense because he and his friend were about to be attacked.

'F*** Biden': Anarchists spray-paint walls, bust out windows at Democratic HQ in Portland; declare 'No Presidents'

Just hours after most mainstream media outlets declared Democratic nominee Joe Biden the winner of the 2020 election over President Donald Trump, Biden's supposed leftist comrades in Portland, Oregon, weren't celebrating victory.

Instead they busted windows at the Multnomah County Democrats building and spray-painted messages such as "F*** Biden" and "No Presidents" — along with the universal symbol of anarchists.

You hate to see it

Such vandalism — presumably carried out by those who are no fans of Trump — could be cause for concern among Democrats, particularly when it's taking place in a leftist stronghold like Portland.

It strongly mirrored a similar incident on election night when hundreds of Black Lives Matter protesters shut down the streets of southeast Portland and confronted residents — even ones who backed Biden. Case in point was a man who stood on his porch and hollered at the protesters, "There's my Biden sign! Don't destroy anything! Be peaceful!"

The man's support for Biden won him no friends among the marauding leftists, one of whom yelled back at him, "No one cares about your white-ass opinion! Who do you think you are telling black people how to protest? You f***ing white-ass privilege old man!"

Another man yelled at protesters, "Dude, I'm on your f***ing side!" — after which a woman screamed back at him, "No, you're not! No, you're f***ing not!"

The group chanted, "What do we want? Justice When do we want it? Now! If we don't get it — Burn it down! BURN. IT. DOWN!" along with, "F*** Trump! F*** Biden! No more presidents!"

In Detroit, one leftist group wasn't too thrilled with Biden, either, and chanted, "F*** Donald Trump! F*** Biden too! Both of them don't give a f*** about you!"

Anything else?

Photojournalist went undercover to expose white supremacists at riots, but found black bloc anarchists instead

Photojournalist Jeremy Lee Quinn was furloughed this year, so he set out to document the protests and the riots that beset cities across the U.S. following the death of George Floyd. Quinn expected to discover white supremacists caused havoc and violence at riots, but what he actually found shocked him — violent left-wing anarchists who were extremely organized.

On May 31, Quinn covered a Black Lives Matter protest in Santa Monica, California, where "suburban moms" were kneeling. Then he was alerted to a shoe store being looted about a mile away.

"He arrived to find young people pouring out of the store, shoeboxes under their arms. But there was something odd about the scene," Farah Stockman wrote in the New York Times. "A group of men, dressed entirely in black, milled around nearby, like supervisors. One wore a creepy rubber Halloween mask."

The next day, Quinn went to another protest, and another store was being looted. A white man wearing all black smashed the window of the store with a crowbar, but he walked away without stealing anything.

Quinn started pouring over footage of looting that was happening across the country. Once again, he noticed that white men dressed in black were often the culprits of the looting.

Quinn believed that the caucasian men causing damage were white supremacist supporters of President Donald Trump, who were attempting to make Black Lives Matter protests appear in a negative light. In an effort to expose the alleged racist Trump supporters, Quinn went undercover and infiltrated the groups. Instead, he found that these destructive forces were "true believers in insurrectionary anarchism."

Over the next four months, Quinn marched along with "black bloc anarchists in half a dozen cities across the country." He was in Washington D.C., where militant agitators harassed diners, and in Portland where rioters launched fireworks at the Mark O. Hatfield Federal Courthouse.

"He says he respects the idealistic goal of a hierarchy-free society that anarchists embrace, but grew increasingly uncomfortable with the tactics used by some anarchists, which he feared would set off a backlash that could help get President Trump re-elected."

Quinn told the New York Times that the far-left anarchists were not "a spontaneous eruption of anger at racial injustice," like much of the mainstream media categorized the violence as. "It was strategically planned, facilitated and advertised on social media by anarchists who believed that their actions advanced the cause of racial justice."

Quinn cautioned that the violent militants in Washington, Portland, and Seattle generated a "cultlike energy."

Quinn saw something else he did not expect to see during the protests, Black Lives Matter protesters praying together with Trump supporters in Tulsa.

Quinn detailed his experience during protests and riots on his website, Public Report, where he warned how dangerous far-left anarchist groups could be.

"Establishment media still continues to overlook trending Anarchist black bloc tactics especially in DC, Portland & Seattle with satellite activity in Denver, Sacramento and San Diego," Quinn wrote. "Insurrectionary Anarchist ideology & rhetoric however has permeated into the social justice movement with blazing efficiency."

"In our experience in Louisville, Community was strong and gravitating towards non violent protest," he wrote. "Earlier in the afternoon we saw individual protesters shutting down agitators trying to use fireworks. But the arrival of a U-Haul with Anarcho / Antifascist symboled shields changed everything."

Many of the left-wing extremists consider themselves "insurrectionary anarchists," some of which "advocate using crimes like arson and shoplifting to wear down the capitalist system."

The NYT article cites a report by Rutgers researchers that documents the "systematic, online mobilization of violence that was planned, coordinated (in real time) and celebrated by explicitly violent anarcho-socialist networks that rode on the coattails of peaceful protest." The research found that some anarchist social media accounts had exploded 300-fold since May, garnering hundreds of thousands of followers.

Stockman explained the problem with making alliances with insurrectionary anarchists.

"If they help you get into power, they will try to oust you the following day, since power is what they are against," she wrote. "Many of them don't even vote. They are experts at unraveling an old order but considerably less skilled at building a new one. That's why, even after more than 100 days of protest in Portland, activists do not agree on a set of common policy goals."

"We are not sure if the socialist, communist, democratic or even anarchist utopia is possible," admitted a host of the anarchist-supporting podcast "The Ex-Worker." "Rather, some insurrectionary anarchists believe that the meaning of being an anarchist lies in the struggle itself and what that struggle reveals."

Stockman hints that the far-left anarchists are not truly destroying American cities to declare that black lives matter or demand racial equality, but because they crave anarchy and their mission is to topple the status quo.
