Is Disney Finally Learning When It Goes Woke, It Goes Broke?

Disney Needs To Get Rid Of More Than Its CEO

If Disney wants to reverse its decline into a child-grooming, genocide-tolerating propaganda machine, it needs to ditch more than Bob Chapek.

Faith-Centered Families Don’t Need Disney Anymore, But Does Disney Need Them?

As Disney leans into progressive themes, evidence indicates many conservative and faith-driven families are leaving the Magic Kingdom.

Mom's 'goodbye' message to Disney goes viral: Disney has 'transformed into a political propaganda machine' that 'grooms children for abortions and sexual promiscuity'

Kristan Hawkins, mother, podcaster, and president of Students for Life of America, says that she and her family are saying goodbye to Disney World and all it entails.

What are the details?

In a fiery op-ed for Fox News, Hawkins said that she's heartbroken over what she describes as Disney's "more progressive" slant.

"Upon watching its newest movie with Pixar entitled 'Turning Red,' it’s clear that the clock has finally struck midnight for Disney’s era of whimsical fairy tales with moral lessons," she wrote. "Gone are the innocent days of 'bibbity-bobbity-boo;' Disney has now transformed into a political propaganda machine that grooms children for abortions and sexual promiscuity — and nothing showcases their regression into a progressive pumpkin better than their new movie."

Hawkins detailed how she believes the new Disney Pixar film — a PG-rated movie about a 13-year-old girl named Mei who turns into a red panda every time she feels passionate emotions — feels "wildly inappropriate in a movie targeting young children like mine" for what she said is its depiction of "sexual tension."

"The adults at Disney create a storyline for the young main character and her fictional friends around their attraction of an older boy dangerously close to being a legal adult at seventeen," she added. "It’s even more appalling when Mei begins to draw this boy in what a 'Turning Red' YouTube account calls 'dirty drawings.' Her drawings include half-naked sketches of him, and, at one point, she crawls under her bed to get all hot and sweaty with her sketchbook of semi-nude scribbles. It would be hard to explain this scene as anything other than masturbation."

Hawkins pointed out that the "abortion lobby" receives a nod from Disney toward the end of the movie when Mei goes out in public as the panda, contradicting her mother's wishes and telling her "my panda, my choice."

"Disney clearly is no longer interested in being a guardian of the innocence of childhood," Hawkins insisted, pointing to leaked comments from Disney leadership about incorporating more queer leads into the company's productions and products. "Instead, by their own admission, Disney leadership is actively pushing children out of Neverland and directly into an adult’s sexualized world, where they can be groomed for others' enjoyment."

"Disney recently spoke out in opposition to Florida’s Parental Rights in Education bill, which would prohibit the discussion of sexual orientation and gender identity in grades Kindergarten to Third," she continued. "But what more can Disney really do? Sexualized content seems to be the new pixie dust at Disney, sprinkled liberally."

She concluded, "Whatever Disney’s future might be, it’s a sad reality that the company is losing its credibility through movies like 'Turning Red.' For parents who proactively monitor what their child is viewing, it’s likely time to say goodbye to today’s Disney if you want to protect your children from the grooming tactics of the left. We’re not dealing with Mickey Mouse anymore."

Florida will never bow to 'woke corporations,' DeSantis promises — then he knocks Disney for China relationship

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) unequivocally promised Thursday that policies in the Sunshine State will not be determined by "the musings of woke corporations."

What is the background?

The promise was made one day after Walt Disney Co. CEO Bob Chapek capitulated to pressure from the outrage mob over legislation protecting parental rights in public education.

The Parental Rights in Education bill — falsely called the "Don't Say Gay" bill — protects Florida students in kindergarten through third grade from receiving classroom instruction on "sexual orientation or gender identity," topics better suited for parents.

But Chapek said Disney has "opposed" the bill from its inception, claiming "it could be unfairly used to target gay, lesbian, nonbinary and transgender kids and families." Chapek even spoke with DeSantis to express Disney's "disappointment" with the bill.

What did DeSantis promise?

Speaking with supporters in Boca Raton, DeSantis vowed he will not cave under the pressure of LGBT activists, Democrats, and "woke corporations" like Disney.

"In the state of Florida, we are not going to allow them to inject transgenderism into kindergarten," DeSantis said, triggering a raucous applause.

"First-graders shouldn’t have woke gender ideology imposed in their curriculums, and that is what we’re standing for because we’re standing for the kids and we’re standing for the parents," he continued. "And I can tell you this: The chance that I am going to back down from my commitment to students and back down from my commitment to parents’ rights simply because of fraudulent media narratives or pressure from woke corporations— the chances of that are zero."

After reaffirming that parents do not want their young children taught progressive sexual and gender ideology in schools, DeSantis turned to Disney and invoked the company's relationship with China.

"You have companies like a Disney that are going to say and criticize parents’ rights, they’re going to criticize the fact that we don’t want transgenderism in kindergarten and first-grade classrooms," DeSantis began.

"If that’s the hill that they’re going to die on, then how do they possibly explain lining their pockets with their relationship from the Communist Party of China?" he continued. "Because that’s what they do and they make a fortune, and they don’t say a word about the really brutal practices that you see over there at the hands of the CCP.

"And so in Florida, our policy’s got to be based on the best interest of Florida citizens, not on the musing of woke corporations," DeSantis declared.

After being approved by the Florida legislature, the Parental Rights in Education bill is headed to DeSantis' desk, where is expected to sign it into law sometime soon.

The White House has condemned the bill as "horrific" and a form of "bullying."

Disney CEO responds to shareholder's question about Gina Carano firing: Disney stands for 'values that are universal,' isn't 'left-leaning or right-leaning'

Bob Chapek, Walt Disney Company's CEO, says that Disney is neither left-leaning nor right-leaning during a response to a shareholder's question as to whether the company had a "blacklist."

What are the details?

In a Wednesday report from The Hollywood Reporter, Chapek on Tuesday addressed Gina Carano's firing from Disney's "The Mandalorian."

Disney fired Carano in February following a controversial social media post comparing criticism against conservatives to oppression that Jews faced in Nazi Germany. Following the post, social media users called for Carano's "cancellation," and even UTA dropped her as a client.

During a shareholders' meeting Tuesday, a caller asked if Disney had a "blacklist," according to the outlet, "insinuating Carano, by name, was targeted for her conservative politics.

Chapek responded that he does not see Disney as "left-leaning or right-leaning," and, instead, stands "for values that are universal: values of respect, values of decency, values of integrity, and values of inclusion."

"And we seek to have the content that we make reflective of the rich diversity of the world we live in," he added. "And I think that's a world we should all live in harmony and peace."

Following her February firing, Lucasfilm Ltd., which is owned by Disney, issued a statement on her remarks.

"Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future," the statement read. "Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable."

It wasn't the first time social media ganged up on Carano: In November, Carano questioned the 2020 presidential election in a tweet on social media. Following the tweet, #FireGinaCarano began trending.

Carano responded to the firing by branding herself a victim of cancel culture, and is making a film alongside Ben Shapiro, editor-in-chief of The Daily Wire. "

What did Carano have to say?

In a statement on the news, Carano said, "The Daily Wire is helping make one of my dreams — to develop and produce my own film — come true. I cried out and my prayer was answered.

"I am sending out a direct message of hope to everyone living in fear of cancellation by the totalitarian mob," she said. "I have only just begun using my voice which is now freer than ever before, and I hope it inspires others to do the same. They can't cancel us if we don't let them."

She also tweeted, "This is just the beginning ... welcome to the rebellion."
