Boos erupt when Trump mentions Sen. Lindsey Graham at South Carolina rally

A chorus of boos erupted after former President Donald Trump mentioned GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina during a speech in the senator's own state on Monday. Trump described the lawmaker as a friend.

Earlier this year at another Trump rally in South Carolina, audience members booed Graham when he appeared at the podium ahead of Trump's speech. Then later during the same event, Trump mentioned Graham and was met by boos from the audience.

The senator has served since early 2003, and his current term ends in early 2027.

"A big day for President @realDonaldTrump in South Carolina. @AGAlanWilson and Secretary of State Mark Hammond coming on board is great news, followed by consequential and influential state legislators. The Trump team is getting bigger and better every day in SC!" Graham tweeted.

Even Graham's tweet was met with negative sentiment.

"You got booed relentlessly!! We don’t understand why Trump still supports you, because the majority of us can't stand you.. you're not American first, you're Ukraine first," one person wrote in response to Graham's post.

"Trump would be smart if he dumped you. RINO," someone else wrote.

Graham has claimed that it is "imperative" for the U.S. to continue aiding Ukraine's military.

"Those who call for the end of U.S. assistance to Ukraine are simply setting the stage for even bigger wars in the future. That will lead to more future expenses and even more loss of life in Europe and possibly one day, Taiwan," Graham has claimed.

Jill Biden bombarded with boos, 'FJB' chants at Eagles game. But neither could be heard on NBC broadcast: Report

First lady Jill Biden reportedly did not receive a warm reception at Lincoln Financial Field, the home of her beloved Philadelphia Eagles. Biden — who grew up in Hammonton, New Jersey, just outside Philadelphia — was an honorary captain for the Eagles' Sunday night matchup against their bitter NFC East rivals, the Dallas Cowboys. But when she attempted to help lead the crowd in a rendition of "Fly, Eagles, Fly," those in the stands reportedly responded by booing mercilessly and chanting expletives about her husband.

Mrs. Biden, who was on hand to support the Cancer Moonshot initiative, clearly knew the fight song and smiled as she sang ardently in front of nearly 70,000 raucous fans. NBC included a brief clip of her appearance on its national broadcast and then shared that clip on social media.

".@FLOTUS leads the crowd in #FlyEaglesFly ahead of kickoff," the official account of Sunday Night Football on NBC wrote in sharing the video on Twitter.

"Fly, Eagles, Fly" is the only sound coming from the audience in that clip. However, folks in the stands heard different sounds and shared their observations on social media.

According to Tea Party Patriots, the crowd booed and shouted "F*** Joe Biden."

In a video shared by Newsmax host Benny Johnson, some in an upper corner of the stadium were chanting a more family-friendly version of "FJB," "Let's Go, Brandon":

Others in attendance did not share video evidence, but still reported the boos and the chants on social media.

NFL veteran Clay Harbor, who was drafted by the Eagles in 2010 and spent three seasons with the team, wrote, "Philly just BOO’d Jill Biden BAD." He also included a laughing emoji to indicate he found the incident humorous.

Self-described "Eagles insider" John McMullen tweeted, "FLOTUS Dr. Jill Biden gets booed. Being an 'Eagles fan' didn't save her."

Several media outlets have also reported the story. Notable sports site OutKick is one such outlet, though writer Matt Reigle claimed late Sunday night that videos of the boos and "FJB" chants were difficult to find on social media. However, a quick search of "Jill Biden" on Twitter on Monday afternoon yielded dozens of tweets that included the video. It is unclear whether the videos were less readily available when his story was published.

Jill Biden's husband, President Joe Biden, is also a lifelong Eagles fan. In May 2021, he described his fellow Eagles fans as "the most informed and most obnoxious fans in the world."

Regardless of any supposedly anti-Biden sentiment from the crowd on Sunday, the Eagles went on to best the Cowboys, 26-17, and are now the only undefeated team in the league.

Chiefs game becomes political football after boos during moment of silence for racial equality

Thursday night's NFL game between the Kansas City Chiefs on their home turf against the Houston Texans became political football in the media — social and otherwise — after some fans booed during a moment of silence against racial injustices when both teams lined up and locked arms in solidarity for a pregame ceremony.

What are the details?

Ahead of the game at Arrowhead Stadium, all but one of the Chiefs stood for "The Star-Spangled Banner," while the entire Texans team and coaching staff opted to stay in their locker room while the national anthem played.

After that, the Texans went onto the field and both teams lined up, locking arms in solidarity in what NBC Sports reported as "a moment of silence recognizing the fight for racial equality in America prior to playing the first game of the 2020 NFL season."

Then, the Texans returned to their locker room while Alicia Keys sang "Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing," also known as the black national anthem.

Texans executive vice president of football operations Jack Easterby explained to ESPN that his team's pregame actions were devised with the intention that there would be "no misinterpretation of them celebrating one song and throwing shade on the other."

After the actual game began, media outlet Raw Story reported that the state of Missouri was "blasted as 'classless trash' after NFL Chiefs fans started booing during moment of silence for racial equality." It's worth noting that the person on social media who used the "classless trash" label was referring to Chiefs fans, and not the state.

Regardless, some fans did boo. Others cheered. The Daily Caller posted video with audio from the moment:

In reaction to Raw Story posting their piece on Twitter, Missouri Republican Sen. Josh Hawley replied, "'Classless trash'? The left showing their usual contempt for middle America. Missouri has the best fans in the country. Don't blame them for being tired of NFL/corporate woke politics jammed down their throats."

The NFL has not been bashful about its initiative to promote social justice causes after players pressed the league to endorse racial equality initiatives in the wake of the death of George Floyd in late May. But the league has received backlash from some fans, pundits, and politicians over their overt embrace of Black Lives Matter, whose leaders have declared themselves trained Marxists.

One of the most prominent advocates of the NFL declaring support for BLM this year is Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who recently signed a 10-year deal with the franchise for the heftiest amount in history.

The New York Post reported that in July, Mahomes — who was the 2018 Super Bowl MVP — agreed to a contract extension worth more than a half billion dollars that runs through 2031.
