Massive mall brawl: 300 teens descend upon shopping mall, run amok, fight — even with cops. TikTok influencer set 'meetup.'

A massive brawl went down at a New Jersey shopping mall Saturday night featuring 300 teenagers running amok, fighting each other — and even tangling with police, WABC-TV reported.

Turns out a TikTok influencer days before told his followers about the "meetup" at the Menlo Park Mall in Edison, the station said — and wouldn't you know the kids just couldn't help themselves and followed the crowd?

'Parents need to be focused on their kids, making sure they're not causing this kind of rowdiness in other towns.'

Edison police said the chaos and violence ensued not long after the teens started filling up the mall around 8 p.m.

"They were having a brawl; they were pushing and shoving," Chief Thomas Bryan with the Edison Police Department told WABC. "When our officers arrived, they actually started fighting with our officers."

You can view a collection of cellphone clips here showing much of the action.

In addition, at the 46-second mark of the above video — and at the 1:15 mark of the YouTube video below — officers are seen holding what appear to be rifles. Blaze News on Wednesday morning spoke with Chief Bryan, who said police originally were called about an active shooter at the mall and that there were "gunshots fired." Therefore, Bryan told Blaze News, police had to come prepared for that, which is why officers are seen with rifles amid the mall brawl.

One officer was injured, WABC said, adding that the throng was so out of control that police from surrounding municipalities responded as well; cops needed about an hour and a half to break things up.

Police told News 12 New Jersey that six teens were arrested for disorderly persons charges as well as failure to disperse; one suspect was charged with assaulting a police officer.

All of the juveniles were eventually released to their parents, NJN said.

Edison Mayor Sam Joshi blasted those same parents during a Monday news conference; NJN said parents likely drove many of their teenage children to the mall for the meetup.

"What are the parents doing? Aren't the parents aware that they're traveling 45 minutes to cause a disturbance within Edison Township?" Joshi asked, according to WABC. "It makes no sense. Parents need to be focused on their kids, making sure they're not causing this kind of rowdiness in other towns."

Edison police also are looking into possible charges for the TikToker who posted the original “meetup” video telling his followers to go to the Menlo Park Mall, NJN reported.

Police told NJN there was no property damage.

Crazy video: Unhinged driver hits teen, crashes through Dollar Tree wall — with teen still on hood. The end is even wilder.

Cellphone video caught the moment when a motorist hit a teenager in the parking lot of a South Carolina Dollar Tree store on Mother's Day, then plowed through the store wall — with the teen still on the hood of the car.

Miraculously, the victim quickly emerged from the rubble and walked away, apparently as if the impact was nothing. You can view the cellphone video here.

'Youth these days ... don't value life.'

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said a fight involving two adults and three juveniles began in the parking lot of the Dollar Tree on Sumter Highway in Bishopville, WIS-TV reported. Bishopville is a little less than an hour northeast of Columbia.

Authorities said a 17-year-old hit a 15-year-old with a vehicle before crashing into the store, the station noted, adding that the driver reportedly rolled the car away from the store and crashed into an occupied vehicle in the parking lot.

WIS said the 15-year-old hit by the car was not seriously hurt.

Deputies said 19-year-old Celvin Hickman and 24-year-old Shamirah Blyther were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct in connection with the brawl, the station reported, adding that Hickman also was charged with malicious injury to property.

The three juveniles also were arrested, the sheriff’s office told WIS.

The 17-year-old accused of driving the car that crashed into the store was charged with attempted murder, disorderly conduct, and malicious injury to property, the station said, adding that authorities said the 17-year-old will be charged as an adult.

Another 15-year-old also was charged with disorderly conduct and released to guardians, WIS said.

Blaze News spoke with an employee of a business just down the street from where the calamity went down. The employee — who spoke to Blaze News on the condition of anonymity — said the harrowing incident has made people "look at Bishopville a little differently."

"I did have one guy who said he's afraid to come back down here," the employee told Blaze News, adding that a lot of people shop in the area, which police consistently patrol.

"It's crazy that it happened right there," the employee added to Blaze News.

Sheriff Daniel Simon in the aftermath told WIS that some "youth these days ... don't value life." Simon added to the station that the driver who hit the 15-year-old with the car "used the vehicle as a weapon. You might as well pull out a gun ... and pull the trigger."

WIS said the store is closed for now and that there's about $10,000 in damages.

Student who punched teacher in face in viral video, 2 other brawling students shouldn't be 'criminalized': Superintendent

The Georgia high school student who punched a teacher in the face last week — an incident that was captured on a viral cellphone video — as well as two other brawling students seen in the clip should not be "criminalized," the school district superintendent said Tuesday.

DeKalb County School District Superintendent Devon Horton said each of the three students who were charged with battery and disrupting public school has a story and there is “more to it than meets the eye," Decaturish reported.

'This was not as cut and dry as the video showed.'

“I am going to be honest. From what I’ve known as a superintendent regarding the situation, I do not support them being criminalized. I do not," Horton told listeners at a news conference. "Every student deserves an opportunity ... and there are some factors that we are aware of that could have prevented this, and so we're looking into that right now.”

The fight took place last Tuesday at Martin Luther King Jr. High School in Lithonia, which is about 20 minutes southeast of Atlanta.

What happened prior to the on-camera violence isn't clear, but the video begins with a male wearing a dark hoodie running up to a teacher wearing a jacket and tie and punching him in the face. As you might expect, onlookers in the hallway let out an approving holler in unison.

A security guard who's right next to the teacher puts the attacker in a bear hug and attempts to move him away, but the angry teacher hits his attacker with a punch of his own, which the crowd doesn't like one bit.

With that, two other males — one wearing a gray hoodie and the other wearing a white hoodie — go after the teacher and knock him to the floor. By this point, the frenzied students are behaving as if they're watching a UFC match.

The teacher gets up again, and there's a little bit of pushing and shoving, but that's where the 45-second clip ends. You can view it here.

The district said in a statement that several students reportedly initiated the physical fight with the teacher, WXIA-TV reported. The teacher in question is on paid administrative leave, Decaturish said.

Horton said at least one of the students involved in the fight had been at the school for less than a month.

“To be honest, this was not as cut and dry as the video showed,” Horton added during the news conference, according to Decaturish. “There were some things that, as a system, that we could have done better.”

Horton said challenges and stressors that students and teachers face in and out of school combine to create “the perfect storm for an incident like that," the outlet added.

Decaturish said Horton and other officials brought up a number of recently implemented restorative practice programs in the district that they say have resulted in better attendance and graduation rates, as well as fewer disciplinary incidents and suspensions at the high school.

You can view a video here showing school district officials discussing the incident at the news conference.

Video: Massive brawl among Carnival cruise ship passengers leads to dozens getting placed on 'Do Not Sail' list

Dozens of Carnival cruise ship passengers reportedly were placed on a "Do Not Sail" list after they engaged in a massive brawl while disembarking from the vessel in Galveston, Texas.

The fight erupted as passengers left the Carnival Jubilee cruise ship after it docked Saturday following a week-long Caribbean voyage with stops in Mexico and Honduras, according to CruiseMapper.

'We will not tolerate such behavior.'

Video obtained by NBC News shows fists flying and pushing and shoving inside the cruise terminal.

“It went down this morning,” wrote Trelle Ray, who posted video of the fight on Facebook.

People are seen throwing punches and throwing fellow cruise passengers to the ground, who appear to get stomped.

Several security guards are seen on video running toward the melee, but they were not immediately able to stop the violence.

Multiple open suitcases could be seen on the video strewn around the terminal in the aftermath of the massive brawl.

In total, 24 people were placed on the "Do Not Sail" list and have been banned from Carnival Cruise Line.

Carnival Cruise Line issued the following statement to KPRC-TV: “The incident occurred in the debarkation area under the authority of U.S. Customs and Border Patrol. The matter was turned over to law enforcement. We will not tolerate such behavior, and 24 people have been placed on our Do Not Sail list.”

Authorities informed USA Today that the Port of Galveston Police Department responded to "an altercation" at Cruise Terminal 25.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents "detained several individuals," and police arrested one person who allegedly played a role in the brouhaha.

Police did not specify charges against the arrested person.

It was unclear what sparked the brawl among the Carnival Cruise Line passengers following their vacation.

Authorities did not specify if there were serious injuries or if any travelers were hospitalized.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection did not immediately respond to a request for comment from USA Today.

This wasn't the first time cruise ship passengers have engaged in fights:

  • As Blaze News reported in July 2022, a huge melee exploded on a Carnival cruise liner involving roughly 60 passengers.
  • In December 2022, multiple fights broke out on the MSC Meraviglia cruise ship. During the cruise, a 36-year-old female passenger fell overboard and died off the coast of Florida.
  • In June 2024, a fight erupted on board the Carnival Paradise cruise ship near the buffet section.

Wild brawl caught on video at HS basketball playoff game; 7 arrested, including 3 minors and 1 player

A wild brawl broke out during a Pennsylvania high school basketball playoff game last week, which resulted in seven arrests — including three 16-year-olds and one 18-year-old player.

The game was held last Friday at Meadville Area Senior High School, which is a little less than an hour south of Erie in the northwest corner of the state. Meadville went up against visiting Uniontown Area High School, which is about an hour and 20 minutes south of Pittsburgh.

Both schools must fulfill a list of requirements the PIAA imposed — or their boys basketball teams will be barred from next season’s state playoffs.

But the opponents never got to finish the contest.

With 3 minutes and 12 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter — and Meadville leading 63 to 55 — play was halted when a fight erupted in the stands; it soon spread to the court, TribLive reported.

Meadville police officers arrested Reginald Grooms, 44, of Uniontown; Notorious Grooms, 18, of Uniontown; Malik Wilson, 25, of Meadville; Joseph Chabot, 37, of Meadville; and three 16-year-olds who were not named, the outlet said. Police indicated that two of the 16-year-olds were from Meadville, and the other 16-year-old was from Uniontown, TribLive reported.

Notorious Grooms — a member of the Uniontown basketball team— along with Wilson, Chabot, and two of the juveniles were charged with disorderly conduct, the outlet said.

Reginald Grooms and the third juvenile were charged with simple assault, harassment, and disorderly conduct, TribLive noted.

Both teams forfeited the game, and neither moved on in the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association boys basketball playoffs, TribLive reported.

Now what?

Both schools must fulfill a list of requirements the PIAA imposed — or their boys basketball teams will be barred from next season’s state playoffs, the outlet explained.

Each school must submit a plan of action “detailing what processes are in place to prevent situations like this from occurring in the future," TribLive said, adding that the deadline is March 19.

All players and coaches on the current roster must complete educational courses related to sportsmanship, the outlet noted.

Spectators “whose identities are known to school administration” must be banned from attendance at school-sponsored activities until June 15, 2026, TribLive added.

The PIAA also reprimanded each school for violating PIAA bylaws by “not addressing the unsportsmanlike behavior” of their spectators, the outlet also said.

Anything else?

The winner of the Uniontown-Meadville game was scheduled to face District 3 champion Hershey (22-3) in a second-round game, so Hershey received a bye, TribLive said.

Uniontown (22-5) was the fifth seed from the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (PIAA District 7) while Meadville (16-9) was the PIAA District 10 champion.

The brawl commences at the 1:30:44 mark in the below video:

Insane brawl in Atlanta airport caught on video — and clip goes viral. No reported arrests.

A brawl inside Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport was caught on video — and clip has gone viral.

You can view cellphone videos of the violence here and here; a news station report also used video of the melee. While the clips appear to show about 10 young people, mostly males, trading kicks, punches, and shoves, a couple of females got involved as well, with one standing atop a row of chairs and delivering kicks.

'Why behave this way?'

As of Monday afternoon, the longest of the two X clips has garnered 2.4 million views since it was posted three days before.

WAGA-TV reported that the violence took place Wednesday at what appeared to be a Spirit Airlines boarding gate.

Atlanta police told WAGA they responded to reports of a large disturbance at the airport, but the combatants dispersed by the time they got to the gate. The station added that it's not clear what prompted the fight or if any of those involved are facing consequences.

WAGA said it reached out to a spokesperson for the airport as well as for Spirit Airlines but was still waiting to hear back from both.

TMZ said it has "seen a few fights" at the Atlanta airport, "but this is by far the largest one to date."

A male who either was recording video of the brawl or standing next to a cellphone camera operator is heard saying, “All I know is that if y’all touch me, I’m knocking the s**t outta of everybody. ... Embarrassing."

Other observers on X were equally disgusted.

  • One commenter suggested a "lifetime no-fly list on all airlines" punishment for brawl participants.
  • "Why behave this way?" another X user wondered.
  • Another commenter asked, "How are there so many TSA agents at airports yet response time to stuff like this is embarrassingly slow ... @DOGE@elonmusk please can we audit TSA next? No one knows how they work, they wield too much power, and they tend to be largely unprofessional."

Video: Parents, students involved in several fights at high school graduation in New Jersey, one person hospitalized

Several fights broke out at a high school graduation in New Jersey on Thursday evening. The brawls sent one person to the hospital.

There were multiple fights near the end of the graduation ceremony at Westwood Regional High School in Bergen County.

Video uploaded to the X social media platform shows several fights on the football field before school officials and police officers were able to quash the physical altercations. There were police officers from at least 12 different nearby towns to stop the mass fighting.

According to NJ.com, students and parents were involved in the brawl.

One person needed to be hospitalized from the melee, and several others suffered minor injuries but declined to be treated, the Washington Township Police Department said.

"This was supposed to be an enjoyable night that the Westwood High School Senior class worked hard for and have been waiting for, which has been tainted due to the egregious behavior by some," Washington Township police said in a statement.

Police did not specify what caused the fights.

Westwood Regional High School Principal Frank Connell wrote on social media after the incident, "Congratulations to the Class of 2024! I am so proud of each and every one of you. It is an honor to serve as your principal and to be part of this amazing community. I refuse to allow anything to take away from that."

Jay Garcia – president of the Westwood Regional School District Board of Education – told WCBS-TV:

"We have much to celebrate in our towns of Westwood and Washington Township. Last night, we honored nearly two hundred students. These young adults, now graduates, have accomplished so much, and they deserve the focus and our attention. The faculty, coaches, administrators, parents, family, and friends who guided them along their journey also merit accolades and praise! The safety and well-being of all students and residents are top priorities, and the unfortunate incident following the culmination was deeply upsetting; I will not comment beyond that, as this is now in the hands of our local law enforcement. Our communities are beautiful, and I know the parents and residents to be loving, caring, kind, and positively engaged. Again, I want to congratulate this gifted Cardinal Class of 2024! I am excited to see what their futures hold!"

Westwood Regional High School enrolls approximately 840 students.

A police investigation into the brawl at the Westwood Regional High School graduation has been launched. Police said that there could be pending charges against those responsible for the violence.

Anyone with videos or information about the brawl is urged to contact Detective Sgt. Severio Fasciano at the Washington Township Police Department.

Brawl erupts after 200 'rowdy' teens gather at shopping mall carnival; teen jumps on cop's back, another elbows cop in head

A brawl erupted after around 200 "rowdy" teens gathered at a Minnesota shopping mall carnival over the weekend.

Among the featured attractions: a teen jumping on a police officer's back, coupled with another youngster elbowing the same officer in the head. The officer suffered a concussion and is out of work, KARE-TV reported.

'Grow up. ... I understand you're kids, but ... it's not right.'

Officers working security at the Northtown Mall carnival in Blaine said around 200 kids between the ages of 14 and 17 were "being rowdy" at about 7 p.m. Saturday, the station said.

Several teens began fighting around 7:30 p.m., and officers tried to break it up, KARE said.

"As officers were restraining the active participants, other juveniles from the crowd continued to kick and punch others who were on the ground. One juvenile jumped on the back of an officer while another struck the officer in the head with her elbow. That officer was later diagnosed with a concussion," a Blaine Police Department news release noted, according to KARE.

The station said overhead police drone video shows teens stepping around officers to kick individuals on the ground, teens and officers pushing each other, and observers capturing it all on cell phones.

Additional Blaine cops showed up to help, along with officers from other Anoka County agencies, KARE reported, adding that the brawl continued for three minutes until an officer threatened the use of a chemical spray.

With that, the teens ran into the mall, which forced officers to close the mall out of precaution, the station said, adding that the carnival was shut down as well.

Two teens were arrested and charged with assault, KARE said, adding that authorities said additional charges are possible.

The station added that last year's carnival also was shut down due to a fight near the Ferris wheel.

Blaine's police chief, Brian Podany, appeared fed up with the teens' behavior.

"Grow up," Podany told KARE during an on-camera interview. "I understand you're kids, but ... there was no efforts to stop any of the violence other than by law enforcement, and it's not right."

Officials told the station the carnival will reopen Wednesday and run through Sunday, adding that fencing will be set up around the carnival grounds that will enforce a single entry point. In addition, no one under 18 will be allowed into the carnival without a parent or guardian, KARE noted.

Long Beach outlets forced to close early after flash mob of 200 juveniles gather at mall, brawl erupts, teen is shot

A California outlet mall was forced to close early on Saturday after a planned gathering of roughly 200 juveniles at the Pike Outlets in Long Beach resulted in a brawl and later a teen was shot.

Around 5:40 p.m. on Saturday, police officers observed a fight break out at the Pike Outlets in Long Beach.

The Long Beach Police Department had already deployed numerous officers to the outside mall in anticipation of a flash mob of minors that was allegedly organized on social media.

The Long Beach Police Department deployed additional officers to the area "to promote safety for all visitors and deter unlawful activity."

The fight between a female adult and female juvenile was reportedly pre-planned and promoted on social media, according to police.

Video shows the brawl erupts with a huge crowd of juveniles surrounding them, a significant number of the onlookers had their cell phones out to record the fight.

Law enforcement quickly intervened and arrested both of the fight participants

The Long Beach Police Department stated, "Businesses in the Pike chose to close early out of an abundance of caution."

The Pike Outlets closed around 6:00 p.m., and everyone, including shoppers, was asked to clear the area.

The police threatened to arrest anyone who remained on the mall property for trespassing after 10 minutes.

Nearly an hour after the fight, officers responded to reports of a shooting near the popular shopping center.

A teenage boy had suffered a gunshot wound to his lower body. He was rushed to a local hospital. He is said to be in stable condition.

Police did not say if the shooting had anything to do with the flash mob or the brawl.

The police said they will increase patrols near the outlet mall in an attempt to deter any more chaotic events.

Watch: Shocking, bleacher-clearing brawl between parents erupts in the middle of high school wrestling match

Video shows a crazy scene unfolding during a high school wrestling match in New Jersey during which parents engaged in a wild brawl as student-athletes were competing.

Around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, wrestlers were competing in a wrestling championship meet at Phillipsburg High School.

Tempers flared during the meet between Phillipsburg’s youth team against High Point's team for the youth championship when an argument amongst parents erupted. Viral video shows that while high school wrestlers were competing, parents in the bleachers engaged in a brouhaha.

NJ.com reported, "According to the videos, the fight starts between two men, with shouting and a shove. Then, the bleachers clear and people start pulling, pushing, and shoving each other. One person can be seen getting kicked in the head."

Video shows other parents getting involved in the physical confrontation by shoving and attempting to quell the fisticuffs.

— (@)

An anonymous parent told Lehigh Valley Live that at least one child was "struck during the fight."

Police escorted the parents of the wrestlers out of the gymnasium following the melee.

It is not clear whether any individuals were injured or charged in the fight.

The brawl reportedly caused the league to cancel the rest of the matches.

The league has participants who are middle schoolers from grades 5 through 8.

The New Jersey Grade School league's individual wrestling championships are scheduled to happen on Sunday at Hunterdon Central High School, and officials are not certain how the interruption would affect the championships.

The Warren County Prosecutor James Pfeiffer said his office was "not too involved" in the incident.

Lopatcong Township Police Chief Jason Garcia didn’t return messages to Lehigh Valley Live on whether his office is investigating the fight.

Phillipsburg's youth wrestling coach also did not respond to a request for comment on the violent situation.
