Video: Parents, students involved in several fights at high school graduation in New Jersey, one person hospitalized

Several fights broke out at a high school graduation in New Jersey on Thursday evening. The brawls sent one person to the hospital.

There were multiple fights near the end of the graduation ceremony at Westwood Regional High School in Bergen County.

Video uploaded to the X social media platform shows several fights on the football field before school officials and police officers were able to quash the physical altercations. There were police officers from at least 12 different nearby towns to stop the mass fighting.

According to NJ.com, students and parents were involved in the brawl.

One person needed to be hospitalized from the melee, and several others suffered minor injuries but declined to be treated, the Washington Township Police Department said.

"This was supposed to be an enjoyable night that the Westwood High School Senior class worked hard for and have been waiting for, which has been tainted due to the egregious behavior by some," Washington Township police said in a statement.

Police did not specify what caused the fights.

Westwood Regional High School Principal Frank Connell wrote on social media after the incident, "Congratulations to the Class of 2024! I am so proud of each and every one of you. It is an honor to serve as your principal and to be part of this amazing community. I refuse to allow anything to take away from that."

Jay Garcia – president of the Westwood Regional School District Board of Education – told WCBS-TV:

"We have much to celebrate in our towns of Westwood and Washington Township. Last night, we honored nearly two hundred students. These young adults, now graduates, have accomplished so much, and they deserve the focus and our attention. The faculty, coaches, administrators, parents, family, and friends who guided them along their journey also merit accolades and praise! The safety and well-being of all students and residents are top priorities, and the unfortunate incident following the culmination was deeply upsetting; I will not comment beyond that, as this is now in the hands of our local law enforcement. Our communities are beautiful, and I know the parents and residents to be loving, caring, kind, and positively engaged. Again, I want to congratulate this gifted Cardinal Class of 2024! I am excited to see what their futures hold!"

Westwood Regional High School enrolls approximately 840 students.

A police investigation into the brawl at the Westwood Regional High School graduation has been launched. Police said that there could be pending charges against those responsible for the violence.

Anyone with videos or information about the brawl is urged to contact Detective Sgt. Severio Fasciano at the Washington Township Police Department.

Brawl erupts after 200 'rowdy' teens gather at shopping mall carnival; teen jumps on cop's back, another elbows cop in head

A brawl erupted after around 200 "rowdy" teens gathered at a Minnesota shopping mall carnival over the weekend.

Among the featured attractions: a teen jumping on a police officer's back, coupled with another youngster elbowing the same officer in the head. The officer suffered a concussion and is out of work, KARE-TV reported.

'Grow up. ... I understand you're kids, but ... it's not right.'

Officers working security at the Northtown Mall carnival in Blaine said around 200 kids between the ages of 14 and 17 were "being rowdy" at about 7 p.m. Saturday, the station said.

Several teens began fighting around 7:30 p.m., and officers tried to break it up, KARE said.

"As officers were restraining the active participants, other juveniles from the crowd continued to kick and punch others who were on the ground. One juvenile jumped on the back of an officer while another struck the officer in the head with her elbow. That officer was later diagnosed with a concussion," a Blaine Police Department news release noted, according to KARE.

The station said overhead police drone video shows teens stepping around officers to kick individuals on the ground, teens and officers pushing each other, and observers capturing it all on cell phones.

Additional Blaine cops showed up to help, along with officers from other Anoka County agencies, KARE reported, adding that the brawl continued for three minutes until an officer threatened the use of a chemical spray.

With that, the teens ran into the mall, which forced officers to close the mall out of precaution, the station said, adding that the carnival was shut down as well.

Two teens were arrested and charged with assault, KARE said, adding that authorities said additional charges are possible.

The station added that last year's carnival also was shut down due to a fight near the Ferris wheel.

Blaine's police chief, Brian Podany, appeared fed up with the teens' behavior.

"Grow up," Podany told KARE during an on-camera interview. "I understand you're kids, but ... there was no efforts to stop any of the violence other than by law enforcement, and it's not right."

Officials told the station the carnival will reopen Wednesday and run through Sunday, adding that fencing will be set up around the carnival grounds that will enforce a single entry point. In addition, no one under 18 will be allowed into the carnival without a parent or guardian, KARE noted.

Long Beach outlets forced to close early after flash mob of 200 juveniles gather at mall, brawl erupts, teen is shot

A California outlet mall was forced to close early on Saturday after a planned gathering of roughly 200 juveniles at the Pike Outlets in Long Beach resulted in a brawl and later a teen was shot.

Around 5:40 p.m. on Saturday, police officers observed a fight break out at the Pike Outlets in Long Beach.

The Long Beach Police Department had already deployed numerous officers to the outside mall in anticipation of a flash mob of minors that was allegedly organized on social media.

The Long Beach Police Department deployed additional officers to the area "to promote safety for all visitors and deter unlawful activity."

The fight between a female adult and female juvenile was reportedly pre-planned and promoted on social media, according to police.

Video shows the brawl erupts with a huge crowd of juveniles surrounding them, a significant number of the onlookers had their cell phones out to record the fight.

Law enforcement quickly intervened and arrested both of the fight participants

The Long Beach Police Department stated, "Businesses in the Pike chose to close early out of an abundance of caution."

The Pike Outlets closed around 6:00 p.m., and everyone, including shoppers, was asked to clear the area.

The police threatened to arrest anyone who remained on the mall property for trespassing after 10 minutes.

Nearly an hour after the fight, officers responded to reports of a shooting near the popular shopping center.

A teenage boy had suffered a gunshot wound to his lower body. He was rushed to a local hospital. He is said to be in stable condition.

Police did not say if the shooting had anything to do with the flash mob or the brawl.

The police said they will increase patrols near the outlet mall in an attempt to deter any more chaotic events.

Watch: Shocking, bleacher-clearing brawl between parents erupts in the middle of high school wrestling match

Video shows a crazy scene unfolding during a high school wrestling match in New Jersey during which parents engaged in a wild brawl as student-athletes were competing.

Around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, wrestlers were competing in a wrestling championship meet at Phillipsburg High School.

Tempers flared during the meet between Phillipsburg’s youth team against High Point's team for the youth championship when an argument amongst parents erupted. Viral video shows that while high school wrestlers were competing, parents in the bleachers engaged in a brouhaha.

NJ.com reported, "According to the videos, the fight starts between two men, with shouting and a shove. Then, the bleachers clear and people start pulling, pushing, and shoving each other. One person can be seen getting kicked in the head."

Video shows other parents getting involved in the physical confrontation by shoving and attempting to quell the fisticuffs.

An anonymous parent told Lehigh Valley Live that at least one child was "struck during the fight."

Police escorted the parents of the wrestlers out of the gymnasium following the melee.

It is not clear whether any individuals were injured or charged in the fight.

The brawl reportedly caused the league to cancel the rest of the matches.

The league has participants who are middle schoolers from grades 5 through 8.

The New Jersey Grade School league's individual wrestling championships are scheduled to happen on Sunday at Hunterdon Central High School, and officials are not certain how the interruption would affect the championships.

The Warren County Prosecutor James Pfeiffer said his office was "not too involved" in the incident.

Lopatcong Township Police Chief Jason Garcia didn’t return messages to Lehigh Valley Live on whether his office is investigating the fight.

Phillipsburg's youth wrestling coach also did not respond to a request for comment on the violent situation.

Video shows the moment 49ers and Raiders fans engage in bloody brawl at California In-N-Out, 2 people stabbed

Eye-opening video shows the moment that fans of the San Francisco 49ers and Las Vegas Raiders engaged in a bloody brawl at a California In-N-Out restaurant that left two people with serious stab wounds.

On Friday night, the 49ers lost their final preseason game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Following the game, many 49ers fans left Levi's Stadium and went to an In-N-Out restaurant in Santa Clara – about a mile away. There were also Raiders fans at the In-N-Out in the 3000 block of Mission College Boulevard.

The Santa Clara Police Department said in a statement on Facebook that a massive brawl erupted between the two NFL fanbases around 11:12 p.m. Video shows fists flying at the burger joint.

At one point, three men gang up on a shirtless man. He is knocked to the floor and is helpless as they punch and kick him. Suddenly, a man appears with a small knife or a shiv and repeatedly stabs the man. Blood is seen dripping on the floor.

Police said at least 10 people were involved in the violent melee at the fast food restaurant.

When police arrived at the crime scene, police officers detained several people for their role in the fight. Police said two people were stabbed, and they were transported to a local hospital. The conditions of the stabbing victims are not known.

So far, two people have been arrested for the brouhaha, but they were not named by police. Police are still searching for suspects and the investigation into the brawl and stabbings remains ongoing.

Police have not said what caused the fight.

The Santa Clara Police Department is urging anyone with information or video evidence of the brawl to contact Detective Sgt. Frank Hagg at (408) 615-4814 or email FHagg@santaclaraca.gov. Those who want to provide an anonymous tip about the fight can leave a message on the SCPD Anonymous Tip Line at (408) 615-4TIP (4847).

A brutal brawl broke out last week in the stands during a 49ers preseason game at Levi's Stadium.

Viral video shows rowdy brawl break out on Alabama dock, man hit over the head with chair, woman thrown into water

A rowdy brawl erupted on a dock in Alabama on Saturday. Multiple arrests were made following the fight that was allegedly ignited over a boat parked in the wrong location.

Officers with the Montgomery Police Department responded to calls regarding a disturbance around 7 p.m. on Saturday at the Montgomery Riverfront in Alabama. Videos show a physical altercation erupts when a shirtless man punches a man who appears to be in a uniform. Another shirtless man runs up from behind and attacks the uniformed man – knocking him to the ground. A third shirtless man runs up to the altercation, and all three of the attackers are seen pummeling the uniformed man on the dock.

Onlookers from the higher portion of the dock run down to help the man being thrashed. Another person is seen on video swimming over to the dock.

The shirtless assailants retreat to a pontoon boat parked at the dock. A group of men confront the people on the boat, and punches are thrown.

At this time, a full-blown brawl erupted on the dock with approximately 10 people fighting. During the melee, combatants were throwing haymakers and sucker punches at one another. Viral video shows a woman being thrown into the water as a riverboat approaches. A man was hit over the head with a chair.

Finally, security and police are able to stop the brouhaha. Several people were taken into custody by the police.

The Montgomery Police Department said "several subjects had been detained and charges are pending."

Alabama.com reported, "Late Sunday, police released a brief follow-up statement. It said that four warrants were active and 'there’s a possibility more will follow after the review of additional video.' No further update was planned until Monday afternoon."

Police have yet to release the names of the detained suspects or possible charges.

— (@)

The brawl allegedly started because the pontoon boat was parked in a spot reserved for a riverboat.

According to the Montgomery Advertiser, "It’s been reported that it began because a pontoon boat was blocking dock space needed to park a riverboat. That area is the regular spot reserved for the Harriott II Riverboat."

Montgomery Mayor Steven L. Reed issued a statement on the brawl:

Last night, the Montgomery Police Department acted swiftly to detain several reckless individuals for attacking a man who was doing his job. Warrants have been signed and justice will be served. This was an unfortunate incident which never should have occurred. As our police department investigates these intolerable actions, we should not become desensitized to violence of any kind in our community. Those who choose violent actions will be held accountable by our criminal Justice system.

Republican senator challenges union boss to a cage fight

A Republican senator and a union boss exchanged heated remarks in a Senate hearing this past March. Now — if there is any bite to the teamster's bark — there's a chance the two might exchange blows in the octagon.

What's the background?

During a Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee hearing on March 8, Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.) struck a nerve, intimating that while Sean O'Brien, general president of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, makes close to $200,000 a year, he doesn't bring much "to the table."

Mullin asked the teamster boss, "What do you bring for that salary? ... What job have you created?"

O'Brien suggested the senator was "out of line," then proceeded to call him a "greedy CEO" and accused him of hiding money while running his plumbing company.

Despite sporadic efforts on the part of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) to intervene, Mullin hit back at O'Brien, saying, "You think you're smart? You think you're funny? You're not," intimating that the committee witness' combative testimony hinted at the kind of intimidation honest union workers routinely suffer at the hands of teamsters.

Markwayne Mullin Goes Nuclear On Labor Leader In Fiery Hearing On Unions youtu.be

Title fight

After stewing for months, O'Brien took to Twitter on June 21 to accuse Mullin of being "full of sh**," adding, "The more you run your mouth, the more you show the American public what a moron you are."

O'Brien proceeded to repeat his March comments, calling the Oklahoma senator a "Greedy CEO who pretends like he's self made" and a "clown."

The teamster boss went so far as to suggest his openness to fisticuffs, tweeting, "You know where to find me. Anyplace, Anytime cowboy."

Mullin, a Cherokee father of six and undefeated former MMA fighter, accepted the teamster's challenge, letting him know he had three days to agree to turn his typing hands into fists.

"An attention-seeking union Teamster boss is trying to be punchy after our Senate hearing. Okay, I accept your challenge," wrote Mullin. "MMA fight for charity of our choice. Sept 30th in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I’ll give you 3 days to accept."

— (@)

A history of violence

According to Sherdog.com, Mullin won all three of his professional MMA fights in the middleweight class, despite a shoulder injured in his youth.

In November 2006, he won an Xtreme Fighting League bout against Bobby Kelley by submission with a rear-naked choke in 46 seconds.

In February 2007, he took out Clinton Bonds in an XFL SuperBrawl match by submission. He faced Bonds again in April 2007 and defeated him in 1:27 with a total knockout, ensured with punches.

The National Wrestling Hall of Fame indicated that "Mullin did whatever it took to wrestle through elementary and middle school, including switching schools four times after the school he was attending canceled its wrestling program."

In a well-timed Spectator profile released Monday, Ben Domenech suggested that the "veins on Mullin’s arms are the first thing you notice. He’s not built like a senator, he’s built like a man who could leap off the top rope and drive you into the mat. He is a member of the Cherokee Nation, the first Native American in the Senate since the retirement of Colorado’s Ben Nighthorse Campbell in 2005."

Domenech continued, "Ripped, bearded, with a belt buckle the size of a hubcap and a Stetson worn as if he’s had it on since the womb, he looks like Rip Wheeler from Yellowstone’s more ab-focused brother," adding, Mullin is the "most mercurial and unknown member of the Senate."

O'Brien has an opportunity to get to know the allegedly unknown senator a whole lot better.

Boxing match between mobster's grandson and Floyd Mayweather breaks out into all-out brawl after fight is stopped

Undefeated four-division boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. demonstrated in the ring Sunday night that at 46, he's still got it. His 30-year-old opponent, John Gotti III, alternatively evinced his mobster grandfather's aversion to following the rules.

The fight at FLA Live in Sunrise, Florida, wasn't officially being judged, but MMA Fighting scored the first five rounds in Mayweather's favor, noting that the seasoned fighter didn't appear to be sweating very much throughout, having landed 25 punches before receiving his first hit.

Meanwhile, his opponent — a mixed martial arts fighter with only two professional boxing wins under his belt — appeared to get increasingly frustrated as the fight progressed and his luck failed to improve.

Gotti's frustration was visibly compounded by Mayweather's taunting and showboating.

In the third round, for instance, Mayweather, who retired from professional boxing with a 50-0 record, went to work on Gotti with a flurry of body shots, then taunted him with a smile and protruding tongue.

In round five, after Mayweather again had Gotti against the ropes, he reportedly told the referee, "I'm going to keep f***ing this b**** up," which prompted a vicious verbal exchange.

This animus carried over into the sixth of eight possible rounds. However, referee Kenny Bayless stopped the fight following a clinch, citing a failure by both fighters to follow his instructions concerning trash talking.

Despite Bayless' command, Gotti circumnavigated the referee and charged Mayweather. Even while operating outside the rules, the mobster's grandson had trouble landing a punch on the champion boxer.

While the first five rounds and Mayweather's 27 previous knockouts indicated the 46-year-old could probably handle the disqualifying attack, members of his team nevertheless climbed into the ring to intervene.

Gotti's crew similarly joined in, such that there were roughly 20 people in the frenzied throng.

According to MMA Fighting, the pandemonium persisted well after Mayweather and Gotti left the ring.

Fox News Digital reported that Gotti subsequently called Mayweather a "punk b****" and an "enemy for life" on Instagram.

DC firefighters, EMS workers on leave after brawl video goes viral; 'combative' man has charges dropped

DC firefighters, EMS workers on leave after brawl video goes viral; 'combative' man has charges dropped

A man who was arrested in connection with a brawl involving firefighters has had assault charges against him dropped, the Washington Post reported.

"On April 25, DC Fire Fighters were providing care to a patient when they were violently attacked by a person, forcing the fire fighters to defend themselves and the helpless patient under their care," the D.C. Firefighters Association, International Association of Firefighters Local 36 said in press release.

"Local 36 is not going to pass judgment or make assumptions on the actions of the members until all facts are known."

Images captured Tuesday by a WUSA photographer show DC Fire and EMS staff in a violent interaction with 43-year-old Charles Simpkins II, near the intersection of Florida Avenue Northwest and North Capitol Street Northwest, the outlet reported.

Emergency workers were called to the scene to address a crash, WRC-TV reported.

Simpkins had crawled under a bus, grabbed a wheel, and refused to let go, witnesses told the outlet.

A brawl ensued after Simpkins, who was described as "belligerent and combative," punched the fire lieutenant in charge in the face.

In one widely-circulated video, uniformed workers are seen throwing punches, with one firefighter delivering a kick while the man was on the ground.

A statement from DC Fire and EMS acquired by NBC's Washington affiliate, WRC-TV approached the topic differently than Local 36.

"The actions depicted in a video of the incident are completely unacceptable and do not reflect the behavior we require of our members," the statement from DC Fire and EMS said.

Local 36 union president David Hoagland framed the incident as firefighters defending the lieutenant.

"I think they were trying to help their lieutenant who had been assaulted. You know, our members are routinely placed in some of these unsafe situations from day to day and, unfortunately, on the scenes of these emergencies they can escalate quickly before the police have a chance to arrive to assist us," Hoagland said, as reported by WRC-TV.

The six DC workers involved were placed on administrate leave, pending an investigation by D.C. police and the fire department's internal affairs unit.

Though Simkins was initially arrested on charges of assaulting a police officer, D.C. Superior Court records show the case against him was dropped the next day, the Washington Post reported.

Watch WUSA's coverage below of the Tuesday night brawl involving D.C. fire and EMS workers.
