Founder Of Breastfeeding Support Organization Resigns After Group Indulges Men’s ‘Chestfeeding’ Fantasies
One of the original founders of La Leche League resigned from the organization due to the inclusion of men in the organization’s mission.
La Leche League is a decades-old non-governmental organization present in nearly 90 countries whose stated mission is to help "mothers worldwide to breastfeed through mother-to-mother support, encouragement, information, and education."
LLL volunteers understand that breastfeeding is the most suitable source of nutrients for infants. Not only does naturally occurring breast milk help with human growth, it also helps stave off disease, accelerate immunity development, and aid in intestinal colonization.
Although breastfeeding is exclusively the province of women, gender ideologues keen to ignore the insuperable differences between the sexes apparently regard it it as yet another female space to invade. In recent years, radicals on both sides of the Atlantic have endeavored to do so by way of more make-believe, medical experimentation, and coercion.
LLL's U.S.-based board of directors recently informed the British wing of the lactation charity, which has over 70 groups across the U.K., that it must support "male lactation," according to the Telegraph. Accordingly, the LLLGB must cater to transvestic men who seek to have infants choke back their nausea medication-induced discharge.
The LLLGB was further informed that the charity's use of the term "mother" might amount to a "roadblock" and that doubts over gender ideology were "harmful."
Late last year, six of the LLGB's 12 trustees took a stand against the directors' attempt to insert mentally-compromised men into women's spaces nationwide, indicating that the demand contravened British law, which protects sex-segregated spaces. They implored the U.S.-based board to permit the organization to remain single-sex, as groups in Muslim countries and other nations resistant to gender ideology are permitted.
The international wing of the LLL responded in February, "We focus on providing breastfeeding support and understand the importance of making our spaces welcoming to all those who want to breastfeed or give their babies human milk."
"We don't argue with parents or other leaders about how they identify; we accept them with respect, just as they say they are, and do not refer to them with words that conflict with their identity," added LLLI.
For having dared to suggest that babies deserve real breast milk contra some drug-induced slurry from fetishists, the LLLI suspended the dissenting trustees, stating, "The continued promotion of LLL as an organization that excludes people is damaging to LLL's credibility."
One LLLGB trustee told the Telegraph, "Many breastfeeding supporters like me feel utterly disheartened by the way our charity has become obsessed and sidetracked by sex and gender issues. In the most recent diktat, we were informed that our charity is not and 'cannot become a single-sex' charity."
"We had already been told that the term 'mother' could be a 'roadblock'. Any attempt to question or debate these positions is hounded down as 'harmful,'" continued the trustee. "But these are not small changes or 'additive' terms to our messaging: it is fundamentally problematic to delivering on our philosophy as a charity. Crucially, it is not in the interests of mothers or babies."
The ousted trustees said in a statement obtained by the maternity care advocacy coalition With Woman, "La Leche League (LLL) has always been about mother-to-mother support to breastfeed. Being able to provide a female-only service is fundamental to the rights, safety and wellbeing of both mothers and babies."
"Pressure to abandon mother-only breastfeeding services has been building internationally at LLL for several years as gender-identity activism has gathered force," continued the statement. "We are now at the point that group leaders around the world are being told they must support 'male lactation.'"
The trustees indicated they have reached out to Britain's Charity Commission, which regulates registered charities in England and Wales. The Critic reported that the whistleblowers' report claims the charity is no longer acting in the beneficiaries' interest.
"We would like to reassure group leaders and the mothers who benefit from LLLGB's services that we are confident the law is on our side, as mother is a sex-based term in UK law," said the trustees.
A spokeswoman for the commission told the Telegraph, "We have received correspondence from groups of trustees, alerting us to a disagreement among the charity’s board about the way in which the charity delivers its services. We are assessing the information to determine whether this is a matter for the Commission as regulator to become involved in."
The U.K.-based Women's Rights Network said in a statement, "Let's call this what it is. An organisation helping men who want to put their nipples into babies' mouths, an suspending six trustees who rightly object. Babies should no be used to satisfy a male fetish. We applaud the LLL6."
It appears the LLL has been racing down the road to absurdity since at least 2020 when it said it supported "everyone who wants to breastfeed or chestfeed in reaching their goals. We do not discriminate based on sex, gender or gender identity. Trans men, trans women and non-binary individuals may choose to breastfeed or chestfeed their babies. You do not need to have given birth to breastfeed or chestfeed, as we can also see in the experiences of those nursing adopted babies."

A British government health agency declared that drug-induced milk from "trans-women" – which would be biological males – is just as healthy for babies as breast milk from a female mother, according to a leaked letter.
The Telegraph reported on Sunday, "In a letter to campaigners, the University of Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust (USHT), said that the milk produced by trans women after taking a combination of drugs is 'comparable to that produced following the birth of a baby.'"
The health officials from U.K.'s National Health Service argued in the letter that "there is clear and overwhelming evidence that human milk is the ideal food for infants," referring to a mother's milk and the drug-induced lactation from biological men who transitioned.
The medical director claimed, "The evidence which is available demonstrates that the milk is comparable to that produced following the birth of a baby."
According to the Daily Mail, "Lactation happens naturally after birth when a hormone called prolactin kicks in and stimulates milk-producing 'alveolar' cells."
"The same combination of drugs can be given to a biological male, who first needs to grow breast tissue capable of lactation," the outlet added. "This requires them to take testosterone suppressants along with oestrogen and progesterone hormone treatment. Once there is enough breast tissue, the brain must be stimulated to produce prolactin, which can be done by giving domperidone or metoclopramide."
The claims about drug-induced 'trans-women's milk' by the NHS organization stirred emotions online.
Blaze Media host Allie Beth Stuckey: "The natural progression of 'fed is best,' which always put the emphasis on the mom instead of the baby. No, fed is bare minimum. What’s best is the most nutritious option available. For most, that will be breastmilk. For some, that truly will be formula. But in absolutely ZERO circumstances is artificially induced, hormone-laced moob juice from a fetishist the best option for babies. In fact, it’s abuse."
Columnist Nana Akua: "There is no way that hormone-filled milk from a trans-woman is as good for a baby as the real thing. Ridiculous! A baby is not a prop."
TV anchor Julia Hartley-Brewer: "Any parent's first instinct should be to put the needs of their newborn baby before their own. Any man who wants to pretend he's a mother who can breastfeed is putting his own desires above the health of his baby. The NHS should not promote this."
Actor Matthew Marsden: "We deserve the asteroid. This stops when you decide it stops."
Reclaim Party leader Laurence Fox: "End times."
Author Peter Whittle: "The war against nature."
Lottie Moore – head of biology matters at the Policy Exchange think tank – proclaimed, "This letter is unbalanced and naïve in its assertion that the secretions produced by a male on hormones can nourish an infant in the way a mother's breast milk can. A child's welfare must always take precedence over identity politics and contested belief systems that are not evidence-based. The NHS should not be indulging in this nonsense. It is compromising women's rights and child safeguarding."
In February 2021, the University of Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust was one of the first health agencies to institute a "gender-inclusive language policy" for neonatal services.
The guidelines changed the "maternity" department to "perinatal services" It advised health care professionals to use "milk from the feeding mother or parent," "human milk," or "chest milk" instead of "breast milk." Instead of "mothers," the agency stated that patients should be referred to as "mothers or birthing parents."
In recent years, some professionals in the medical community have been attempting to alter the verbiage to terms they have deemed to be more "inclusive" toward the transgender community. There has been a push by some neonatal doctors to switch from the traditional term of "breastfeeding" to "chestfeeding" or "lactation."
The University of Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust operates the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Worthing Hospital, Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital, and others.

Actor Rainn Wilson of "The Office" fame issued and apology on Thursday, saying that he had posted "a mean crack about breastfeeding vs chestfeeding" on Wednesday.
"Yesterday I tweeted a mean crack about breastfeeding vs chestfeeding. After speaking with some Trans friends and educating myself a bit more I want to apologize for the tweet. It was adding to misinformation and meanness. I'm sorry," Wilson tweeted on Thursday.

The mea culpa came after Wilson had reportedly issued a tweet on Wednesday that said, "TIL you can no longer say 'nursing or breastfeeding mother' you have to say 'chestfeeding person.' Just FYI."
While some on social media praised Wilson for issuing the apology, others were less than impressed.
"Absolutely pathetic…" tweeted Dave Rubin, host of BlazeTV's "The Rubin Report."
"Serious beta energy," NewsBusters managing editor Curtis Houck commented.
"I'm embarrassed for you," tweeted Seth Dillon, CEO of the Babylon Bee.
"Perhaps you should talk with some actual nursing mothers and educate yourself about why the term 'chestfeeding' is offensive and degrading to women. (Women, in case you are confused, are the humans who are able to breastfeed children)," Stephen Miller tweeted. "Woke Democrats are trying to erase women and erase the experiences of women," he added in another tweet.
Last year Wilson, who is widely known for playing the character Dwight Schrute on the television series "The Office," said that individuals who declined to get vaccinated seemed to be the most angry that the government had not put an end to COVID-19.
"People who refuse to get vaccinated seem to be the angriest that the government hasn't 'fixed' or 'stopped' the virus by now. Please explain," the actor tweeted in December.
Wilson posted a tweet on Thursday that said, "Here's why so many people who don't want 'government overreach' long for something approaching authoritarianism: … . I have no idea."

UK talk-show host Piers Morgan tore into a transgender-inclusive policy that instructs midwives at one hospital to say "chestfeeding" instead of "breastfeeding" among other language changes.
Morgan — who's famously against political correctness — piped up on Wednesday's episode of "Good Morning Britain" to take issue with the story he saw reported on the front page of the Times.
"Midwives have been told to refer to 'chestfeeding' rather than 'breastfeeding' and replace the term 'mother' with 'birthing parent,'" Morgan said before reading a Twitter user's post that said, "I'm transgender myself, and Morgan is 100 percent correct. This isn't what the majority of transpeople ask for, and it hinders our rights, not helps us."
Morgan continued: "That's my point ... I want transgender people to have respect and dignity and equality. I don't think you get there by telling midwives to stop using the term 'breastfeeding' because it may upset a few people when 99% of the people in there are breastfeeding. It's nonsense, and this kind of PC-cop nonsense with the language ... it has the opposite effect to what you think it does. It annoys people ... it doesn't bring you any inclusivity. It becomes exclusive; it alienates people."

According to the Times, Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust is the first in the country to formally implement such a policy for its maternity services department, which now will be called "perinatal services."
Staff also have to been told to replace "breastmilk" with the terms "human milk," "breast/chestmilk," or "milk from the feeding mother or parent," the paper said.
Other language changes include replacing "woman" with "woman or person" and "father" with "parent," "co-parent," or "second biological parent," depending on the circumstances, the Times reported.
Morgan is a classical liberal who highly values free speech and takes issue with those who try to squelch it — but he appears to have a special place in his heart for those who tout politically correct language.
In 2019, Morgan made big headlines when he lampooned the arrival of a gender-neutral penguin at London's Sea Life, which prompted the "Good Morning Britain" co-host to announce that he was now identifying as a "two-spirit penguin" — a reference to a "two-spirit person" as one of 100 genders.
Afterward, the UK's communications regulator got almost 1,000 complaints from viewers over Morgan's jab — but he was eventually cleared as the regulator, Ofcom, wouldn't investigate him.
Also in 2019, Morgan appeared on a Sunday program hosted by the Daily Wire's Ben Shapiro and ripped fellow liberals who've "become utterly, pathetically illiberal" and have embraced a "version of fascism."
And back in 2017 when violent, left-wing protests broke out over conservatives giving speeches on the campus of the University of California, Berkeley, leading the school to cancel conservative commentator and author Ann Coulter's speech over security concerns, Morgan hit back in a Daily Mail column saying that while Coulter is "a woman whose opinions I love to hate," UC Berkeley was way off base.
He wrote that the "truth about many modern liberals is that they don't believe in free speech at all" except "if people agree with them." He added that if liberals "don't like what they're hearing, they scream and shout, punch and kick, petrol bomb and stab, and furiously demand the offender be silenced and banned."
"This dramatic shift in liberal behavior from peaceful protest to violent hateful censorship is a vile, virulent virus that first infected vast swathes of America intelligentsia and has now spread across to my own country, Britain," Morgan added.
