Jill Biden bombarded with boos, 'FJB' chants at Eagles game. But neither could be heard on NBC broadcast: Report

First lady Jill Biden reportedly did not receive a warm reception at Lincoln Financial Field, the home of her beloved Philadelphia Eagles. Biden — who grew up in Hammonton, New Jersey, just outside Philadelphia — was an honorary captain for the Eagles' Sunday night matchup against their bitter NFC East rivals, the Dallas Cowboys. But when she attempted to help lead the crowd in a rendition of "Fly, Eagles, Fly," those in the stands reportedly responded by booing mercilessly and chanting expletives about her husband.

Mrs. Biden, who was on hand to support the Cancer Moonshot initiative, clearly knew the fight song and smiled as she sang ardently in front of nearly 70,000 raucous fans. NBC included a brief clip of her appearance on its national broadcast and then shared that clip on social media.

".@FLOTUS leads the crowd in #FlyEaglesFly ahead of kickoff," the official account of Sunday Night Football on NBC wrote in sharing the video on Twitter.

"Fly, Eagles, Fly" is the only sound coming from the audience in that clip. However, folks in the stands heard different sounds and shared their observations on social media.

According to Tea Party Patriots, the crowd booed and shouted "F*** Joe Biden."

In a video shared by Newsmax host Benny Johnson, some in an upper corner of the stadium were chanting a more family-friendly version of "FJB," "Let's Go, Brandon":

Others in attendance did not share video evidence, but still reported the boos and the chants on social media.

NFL veteran Clay Harbor, who was drafted by the Eagles in 2010 and spent three seasons with the team, wrote, "Philly just BOO’d Jill Biden BAD." He also included a laughing emoji to indicate he found the incident humorous.

Self-described "Eagles insider" John McMullen tweeted, "FLOTUS Dr. Jill Biden gets booed. Being an 'Eagles fan' didn't save her."

Several media outlets have also reported the story. Notable sports site OutKick is one such outlet, though writer Matt Reigle claimed late Sunday night that videos of the boos and "FJB" chants were difficult to find on social media. However, a quick search of "Jill Biden" on Twitter on Monday afternoon yielded dozens of tweets that included the video. It is unclear whether the videos were less readily available when his story was published.

Jill Biden's husband, President Joe Biden, is also a lifelong Eagles fan. In May 2021, he described his fellow Eagles fans as "the most informed and most obnoxious fans in the world."

Regardless of any supposedly anti-Biden sentiment from the crowd on Sunday, the Eagles went on to best the Cowboys, 26-17, and are now the only undefeated team in the league.

Mayra Flores says it will take more than Jill Biden's apology for 'tacos' comments to win Hispanic votes

Texas Republican Rep. Mayra Flores blasted President Joe Biden's failures on the economy and the border and accused Democrats of taking Latino voters "for granted" Wednesday and rebuked first lady Jill Biden's recent ham-fisted and cringe-worthy comparison of Hispanics to tacos.

In an interview on Fox News, Flores predicted that Democrats are in for a rude awakening in the upcoming midterm elections, when she says they will find out they don't "own" the Hispanic vote.

"We're going to teach them a strong lesson in November that they do not own our votes and that they need to bring back the good economy that we had prior to the Biden administration," she told anchors Sandra Smith and Bill Hemmer.

Flores, who defeated an incumbent Democrat in a special election last month, said rising costs caused by inflation and the border crisis are responsible for Biden's record low poll numbers.

She criticized the president, who recently met with Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, for failing to listen to to the concerns raised by Obrador, saying that Biden was "half-asleep" during the meeting.

"People are going through a dangerous journey, increasing child sex trafficking, alarming rates. This is something that we should all come together and work for the safety of immigrants and, of course, innocent children that are being dragged into child sex trafficking. That's a reality. And I think that conversation wasn't had," Flores told Fox News.

After noting Biden's flailing poll numbers with Hispanics, Hemmer asked Flores to respond to Jill Biden's Tuesday morning apology after she compared Hispanics to "bodegas" and "breakfast tacos" in a speech at a Latino diversity conference.

"The diversity of this community as distinct at the bogedas of the Bronx, as beautiful as the blossoms of Miami, and as unique as the breakfast tacos here in San Antonio, is your strength" the first lady said, butchering the pronunciation of the word "bodega."

Biden was roundly criticized for her comments. The National Association of Hispanic Journalists called on her "to take time to better understand the complexities of our people & communities."

"We are not tacos," the group tweeted Monday.

\u201cNAHJ encourages @FLOTUS & her communications team to take time to better understand the complexities of our people & communities.\n\nWe are not tacos.\n\nOur heritage as Latinos is shaped by various diasporas, cultures & food traditions. \n\nDo not reduce us to stereotypes.\u201d
— NAHJ (@NAHJ) 1657584249

The first lady's spokesman Michael LaRosa issued an apology Tuesday morning after the backlash. "The first lady apologizes that her words conveyed anything but pure admiration and love for the Latino community," LaRosa said.

Flores said Jill Biden's clumsy comments and subsequent apology demonstrated how Democrats use Hispanic voters but don't care about them.

"They don't see us as Americans, they see us as tacos. That's exactly how they see us. And we're proud Americans and they are only doing this to get our vote and they think that by giving us tacos and playing Latin music that that's all it's gonna take for us to vote for them in November," Flores said.

"It's going to take a lot more than that. We want gas, rent and groceries to come down. We want more money in our pockets, and they're only making our lives more miserable."

She doubted the sincerity of Biden's apology.

Biden makes several gaffes at G7, at one point world leaders openly laugh at his forgetfulness

When on the world stage with his peers at the G7 summit this weekend, President Joe Biden had several mental lapses and gaffes. At one point, fellow world leaders openly laughed at Biden over his forgetfulness at the G7 conference in Cornwall, England.

During a press conference on Sunday, Biden stumbled while speaking about Russia ahead of his June 16 meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Geneva, Switzerland.

"We can work together with Russia – for example, in Libya. We should be opening up the passage to be able to go through, provide food assistance, and economic... I mean, vital assistance to a population that's in real trouble," Biden said, confusing Libya with Syria. Biden confused Libya for Syria on two more occasions in his meandering diatribe.

Previously, first lady Jill Biden proclaimed that her husband was "so well prepared" for the conference.

"He's been studying for weeks working up for today," she said. "He knows most of the leaders that will be here. Joe loves foreign policy. This is his forte."

Time magazine was ridiculed last week for an extremely flattering cover featuring an illustration of Biden appearing years younger and a headline that read, "Taking on Putin."

Biden already said he won't hold a joint press conference with Putin because he doesn't want to get "diverted" by who "talked the most."

Also during the presser, Biden said, "I'm sorry, I'm going to get in trouble with staff if I don't do this the right way," before selecting Bloomberg to ask him a question. At a prior press conference at the White House, Biden was using a "cheat sheet" to determine which reporters to call on.

When asked a question by the press, Biden responded in a strange whispering voice, "120 days, gimme a break. I need time."

Biden delivered a befuddling comment during the presser, saying, "COVID, I know you all know, but a lot of people may not know what COVID is, that is a system whereby they're going to provide funding for states to get access to vaccines."

The White House issued a correction for the president, saying that when he said "COVID," he meant to say "COVAX." Biden reportedly made this same error on three different occasions during the press conference. COVAX is a worldwide initiative aimed at equitable access to coronavirus vaccines.

During the summit, there was a conference between the G7 leaders of the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, Italy, Canada, and Japan, along with other leaders from India, South Korea, and South Africa.

U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson introduced the leaders, who were not G7 members, "Welcome, those who have just joined us, we have some pretty spectacular weather. We have Prime Minister Modi [India], President Ramaphosa [South Africa], President Moon [South Korea] in just a minute."

A confused Biden interrupted Johnson to inform him that he didn't introduce Ramaphosa, despite Johnson introducing the president of South Africa literally seconds earlier.

"And the president of South Africa," Biden said, who was sitting next to Johnson.

Johnson replied, "And the president of South Africa as I said early on."

The world leaders laughed at Biden's forgetfulness at the G7 roundtable. Then the press was rushed out of the room.

There was another awkward moment during the G7 conference when Biden was walking through a section and was asked a random and easy question, "How are your meetings going in Cornwall, Mr. President?"

Jill Biden quickly interrupted the impromptu question, and frantically said, "Joe, c'mon," as she waved her hands for him to come with her, which elicited laughter from the people nearby. She then grabbed his hand and lead him away.

Video: BBC crew claims Joe Biden had them booted from their pub table so he and Jill could take it

A BBC editor and his producer say President Joe Biden decided to take their table at a hotel pub Thursday, and posted videos of the incident showing Biden standing at the table as the crew collected their belongings.

What are the details?

The New York Post reported on the encounter that began with BBC North American editor Jon Sopel documenting himself chatting up Biden when the commander-in-chief sat down at a table near him outdoors at the Treganna Castle in Cornwall.

"A first in my career," Sopel tweeted along with accompanying video. "@POTUS comes and sits down at table in a bar next to me and orders a drink. Am trying to act nonchalant #G7."

— Jon Sopel (@BBCJonSopel) 1623350674.0

The Post reported, "But the BBC team was soon forced to pack up their belongings to give up their table to POTUS and FLOTUS — even though they clearly had the pick of several other tables in the otherwise empty area."

Sopel's producer, Morgan Gisholt Minard, then posted a clip showing her gathering her things to leave their table as Biden stood by, hands resting on one of the chairs, watching and waiting for her to skedaddle as they exchanged pleasantries.

Minard tweeted, "There are few instances I'd feel compelled to give up my dinner table... I suppose this is an exception. Welcome to Cornwall @POTUS."

Sopel then joked on Twitter that Minard "has never, not once, stood up to make way for me."

In a short BBC posting that same day titled, "When the US president sits at your table in the bar," the outlet reported, "You can bump into all sorts of characters at a hotel bar. Sometimes a VIP from the presidential suite shows up and wants your table."

Sharing Minard's video, the British outlet added, "That's what happened to the BBC's Jon Sopel and Morgan Gisholt Minard while they were covering the G7 summit in Cornwall, UK.

But the BBC crew continued their coverage from not too far away, with Sopel reporting shortly after their table-hopping, "Hope I'm not revealing state secrets but @POTUS drank coke; @FLOTUS a glass of red. Not a beer or cider or pasty in sight #G7."

What was the Twitter reaction?

According to The Daily Wire, "while Twitterers mocked the BBC team for moving so quickly, others ripped them for their fawning response" to the U.S. president.

Several people also made jokes about the incident, with one person telling Minard, "Get out quick, before he touches you or sniffs your hair..."

'Where's Joe?': House Republicans mock photo of first lady Jill Biden 'prepping' for G7 summit — and leftists hit back hard

House Republicans wasted no time mocking a photo of first lady Jill Biden "prepping for the G7" summit that appeared on her official Twitter page Wednesday:

Prepping for the G7. https://t.co/drPmb2vBwI

— Jill Biden (@FLOTUS) 1623258613.0

And what did the House GOP wonder in response?

"Where's Joe?" they asked.

@FLOTUS Where’s Joe?

— House Republicans (@HouseGOP) 1623261015.0

It's a fair question, especially given longstanding chatter about what many say is the diminished cognitive state of her husband, President Joe Biden.

Jill Biden has been a constant presence at Joe Biden's side since before the election, and questions have come up regarding how much she's helping her husband get through his public appearances.

On Wednesday she told Biden to "pay attention" as she spoke to American service members stationed in the United Kingdom. While sympathetic news outlets passed it off as a joke between the couple, the photo of her "prepping for the G7" may have been a bit much for Republican House members.

After all, why would a first lady, who's not elected and has no authority, prep for a summit of world leaders?

What was the reaction?

As you might expect, leftists hit back at the GOP House members' "Where's Joe?" dig and didn't let up:

  • "Not trolling on Twitter like a child," one commenter shot back. "I know that much."
  • "I guess the notion of a woman doing something other than keeping house without her husband isn't comfortable for you," another user quipped.
  • "Any INTELLIGENT woman would want to know what will be discussed at the Global meeting of the World," another commenter offered. "Could you imagine someone of her stature walking in and just standing there 'to look pretty' as if she were a prop!"
  • "Seriously? Advertising your misogynistic attitudes is not a good look," another user said. "But go ahead, it's why you've lost the majority of the educated women's vote…."

Others Biden fans loved the first lady's photo caption:

  • "Cannot hide the educator as she reads… pen in hand like an extension of her entire being… she's SO GOOD she doesn't need highlighters," one commenter gushed.
  • "It's so wonderful to see a first lady actually working not just having a photo op on our dime!" another user added.
  • "This is beyond refreshing," another commenter declared. "Thank you for being an intelligent first lady who is bringing respect back to our country."

Kamala Harris and husband Doug Emhoff kiss with masks on despite being vaccinated and outside. It's just the latest confusing mask gesture by the Biden admin.

At times, the Biden administration has presented confusing and contradictory mask-wearing habits, which has sparked questions about President Joe Biden's COVID-19 vaccine messaging and recent CDC guidelines. In the latest inconsistent mask gesture, Vice President Kamala Harris determined that she needed a face mask to kiss her own husband while outside after they had both been vaccinated for coronavirus.

Harris and husband Doug Emhoff traveled to Joint Base Andrews, where she was taking a plane to Providence, Rhode Island, and he was flying to Allentown, Pennsylvania. Before Harris departed, the fully vaccinated couple kept their face masks on when they gave each other a goodbye kiss while outside on the tarmac.

Harris and U.S. second gentleman Doug Emhoff both received a second round of the Moderna coronavirus vaccine on Jan. 26.

Kamala really did just kiss her husband with a mask on 🥴🥴 https://t.co/YvP1FcKMmO

— Sara Gonzales (@SaraGonzalesTX) 1620236107.0

The masked kiss occurred a week after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued new guidelines on mask-wearing outside: "Fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear a mask outdoors, except in certain crowded settings and venues."

CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky said, "If you are fully vaccinated and want to attend a small outdoor gathering with people who are vaccinated and unvaccinated, or dine at an outdoor restaurant with friends from multiple households, the science shows if you are vaccinated, you can do so safely unmasked."

President Joe Biden bucked the COVID-19 recommendations by the health agency. Biden said last week that wearing a mask, including people who are vaccinated and outdoors, is "a patriotic responsibility for God's sake."

Biden has presented conflicting messaging on face masks to the American people in recent weeks.

During a photo op with former President Jimmy Carter and former first lady Rosalynn Carter this week, Biden and first lady Jill Biden are both maskless while nestled close to the Carters, who are both in their 90s.

Biden told Americans to mask up for the first 100 days of his administration.

'What the hell is going on here?': Social media weirded out by photo of Bidens next to Carters

A recent photograph of President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden alongside former President Jimmy Carter and former First Lady Rosalynn Carter has folks on social media scratching their heads over whether the Bidens are giants, the Carters have shrunk, or something else is amiss.

What are the details?

The Bidens met with the Carters last week at the former first couple's home in Georgia, where the picture was snapped.

The Carter Center tweeted out the image on Monday, writing, "We're pleased to share this wonderful photo from the @POTUS and @FLOTUS visit to see the Carters in Plains, Ga.! Thank you President and Mrs. Biden!"

We're pleased to share this wonderful photo from the @POTUS and @FLOTUS visit to see the Carters in Plains, Ga.!… https://t.co/oNUxv9P7TW
— The Carter Center (@CarterCenter) 1620093890.0

But the picture left several people on Twitter wondering: "Dude what is with the size difference between these people what the hell is going on here?"

One person wrote, "Glad I'm not the only who noticed. I know it probably has something to do with the angle this photo was shot and that people do tend to shrink as they age, but the Bidens look gargantuan next to the Carters."

Another added, "Regardless of it being edited or not it's hilarious people are trying to defend a picture where the Bidens look like they showed up for a tea party in the Carters' Barbie house."

An expert for The Guardian explained that the Bidens are not, in reality, three times the size of the Carters, telling the outlet:

The image is possibly distorted by using a wide-angle lens. When taking photos in a smaller space you often don't have room to move far enough back to get everyone in the frame, so you use a lens that can take it all in. Unfortunately, if you use a lens that is really wide, while also standing very close to the subjects, it will distort the photo, making those close to the camera appear giant while shrinking those further away.

Anything else?

The size distortions are not the only thing people noticed about the photo of the Democratic couples.

Many respondents noted that the Bidens — who still insist on wearing masks outdoors despite being fully vaccinated for months — were nonetheless comfortable ditching their masks to pose next to an elderly couple indoors.

"The comments on this distorted photo are hysterical," one person wrote, "but the fact that President Biden wears a mask when he's alone on a Zoom call with world leaders but he doesn't when he's sitting with the Carters, a couple in their 90s, only proves that post vaccine masks are pure theater."

Another replied, "Where are the masks. Not social distanced. I noticed the Bidens donned theirs as they were leaving. More mixed messages."

Jill Biden butchers Spanish protest slogan during César Chávez celebration and faces brutally hilarious ridicule

First lady Jill Biden gave a speech commemorating the birthday of farmworker civil rights advocate César Chávez but she faced ridicule and mockery for butchering the Spanish slogan he made famous.

The first lady spoke to farmworkers in Delano, California, with Gov. Gavin Newsom at her side on Wednesday and the United Farm Workers flag behind her.

"Cesar Chávez understood that no matter the obstacles, when people come together united in a cause, anything is possible. Yes we can. Si se puede!" Biden said during the speech.

"Si se puede" was popularized by Chávez and translates to "Yes we can."

She tried to close out the speech with another rousing call to the audience but floundered when she botched the pronunciation of the famous slogan.

Her critics were quick to pounce on video of the embarrassing moment and circulate it widely on social media.

"What better way to wrap #CesarChavezDay than with Co-President Dr. Jill Biden butchering "Sí Se Puede" while standing in front of Chávez' black eagle," chided Jorge Bonilla of the Media Research Center.

The Fresno Bee reported her gaffe as sounding like "si se pwad-way," despite having said it correctly previously in the speech.

"What a fake, pandering machine politician Jill Biden is. just like her husband," responded Steve Hilton.

"Not a big deal, but I'm old enough to remember when President Trump's mispronunciations would consume news cycles," replied Giancarlo Sopo.

"Melania is fluent in 5 languages Jill Biden can't even say a rehearsed line in Spanish," responded an anonymous Twitter user.

"Thank God @POTUS jumped in with the #Despacito save or that could have been embarrassing for @FLOTUS," joked another user.

Biden was speaking at the Forty Acres site, a national monument where Chávez fought for farmworkers' rights and founded the United Farm Workers of America labor organization.
