Amber Rose fires back at Joy Reid after she criticizes rousing RNC speech: 'Stop being a race baiter'

Model and rapper Amber Rose lambasted MSNBC's Joy Reid after she tried to criticize Rose's speech on the first evening of the Republican National Convention.

Rose was widely applauded for her emotional and effective speech, but Reid decided to attack her on the basis that she had made her celebrity on support from the black community.

"It's ironic that they were able to recruit this young woman, who, she's a racially ambiguous, I don't want to say she's black because she has said she is not, so I don't want to say 'this black woman,'" Reid said on MSNBC.

"But they brought somebody whose whole career is based in black culture. She used to be on a show on BET, that's the reason that most people know who she is. She dated one of the most prominent African-American rappers in the business, in the history of hip-hop," she continued, referring to Kanye West.

"And the fact that she is the person they're using to try to recruit people of color and to say that this is the person, the endorser of Donald Trump who you should trust, when she won't even claim the culture that brought her to the table?" Reid concluded. "I am dubious that this will work."

Rose fired back in a social media post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

"Hi @JoyAnnReid I’ve never said I wasn’t black I said I identify as biracial," she wrote.

"I’m not going to invalid my white father to make you feel more comfortable. Stop being a race baiter ur president does enough race baiting for all of us," she added.

Her missive garnered more than 3.2 million views in a few hours.

Other Democrats recognized how dangerous Rose's speech was to their party that is relying on black support for the upcoming elections.

“That was probably the most dangerous speech for the Democratic coalition,” sand Democratic strategist Van Jones on CNN. “That is a young woman of color. She is describing the experience that a lot of people have — feeling that maybe, if you’re around too many liberals, you might get criticized too much or you might not be able to speak your mind, and she spoke to it really well.”

'Very creepy': DNC adviser slammed as 'sexist' for suggesting Lauren Boebert do porn if she loses her House seat, MSNBC host Joy Reid bursts into laughter

An MSNBC contributor is being blasted as a "sexist" for suggesting that Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert do porn if she loses her seat in the House.

During Wednesday night's episode of "The ReidOut," MSNBC host Joy Reid discussed the 2022 midterm elections with former Democratic Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill and DNC adviser Kurt Bardella.

The trio were thrilled that Boebert was locked in a tight race with Democrat Adam Frisch. At the time of publication, Frisch was leading Boebert by just 64 votes, with 98% of the votes counted, in the race for Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District.

Reid asked her guests, "What's the meaning if Lauren Boebert – the second most popular QAnon Congressperson in MAGA – what if she goes, what if she loses?"

Reid added, "And what job will she have? I don't even think Shooters exists any more."

Boebert previously owned the gun-themed restaurant Shooters Grill in Rifle, Colorado. The restaurant closed in July after a new landlord did not renew the lease for Shooters Grill.

Bardella proclaimed that Boebert would transition from congresswoman to a performer on OnlyFans – an adult website that features pornographic content.

"I guess it might be a gain for OnlyFans," Bardella stated. "I don’t know what she would do in this scenario."

The remark delighted Reid and sent her into a laughing, wheezing outburst.

McCaskill's jaw dropped in reaction to Bardella's comment.

Bardella said of Boebert's potential loss, "I think that symbolically to take out one of the poster childs of the MAGA movement – someone who has been an absolute disgrace to the office that she holds – would be a great feather in the cap. And would, I think, cement the fact that this has been an absolute unmitigated disaster for the MAGA wing of the Republican Party."

— Greg Price (@Greg Price) 1668044545

Bardella – a former publicist for Breitbart and the Daily Caller as well as a former senior adviser to the Lincoln Project – was slammed as a "sexist" in reactions on Twitter. Many online commentators decried hypocrisy and believed that there would be a far greater backlash if Bardella made the same comment against a Democrat politician.

Conservative commentator CJ Pearson: "So misogyny is ok, as long as it’s exclusively directed towards conservative women?"

Author Jim Hanson: "The shameless misogyny of the tolerant Left."

Reporter Alex Salvi: "Very creepy and misogynistic."

Independent journalist Glenn Greenwald: "Demeaning, creepy, sexualized things you get to say about female politicians if you're doing so for the right cause and on the right liberal channel. Pick your most beloved liberal politician and imagine the uproar if this were said about them on Fox while the host giggled."

Writer Carmine Sabia: "If @KurtBardella was a Republican, @JoyAnnReid was on Fox News and Lauren Boebert was a Democrat people would be fired, apologies would be made and it would be a national news story. This is abhorrent."

Columnist David Harsanyi: "If this was a Republican, The Atlantic would have to dedicate an entire issue to the dark misogynistic heart of the party."

Former Trump adviser Jenna Ellis: "Gross. @kurtbardella is a pervert. If anyone had suggested this about Tiffany Cross when she was fired, the Left would have whined racism, sexism, misogyny. So maybe everyone just stop suggesting women do porn altogether, regardless of race or party?"

Entrepreneur Alok Bhatt: "Liberal privilege again at display - thanks to which this democrat strategist @kurtbardella, will get away with this utterly sexist remark!"

Journalist Brad Polumbo: "I am a big critic of Boebert, but this is sexist and demeaning. She ran a successful business before Congress."

Investigative reporter Chuck Ross: "I hope MSNBC keeps @kurtbardella on air because he’s a clown and he amuses me, but hard to see how they justify keeping him on after this when they just got rid of a black female show host for lack of 'standards.'"

Conservative commentator Kurt Schlichter: "Remember that much of the hatred of conservativism is cheesy class snobbery by mediocre people who have nothing but their ridiculous 'elite' status."

Reporter Tatjana Pasalic: "I am not a fan of Boebert at all but this is just disgusting trash. Why is misogyny like this OK on national TV? Shame on these two women giggling at the OnlyFans comment. Such feminism. Much wow. Gross."

Former Democratic Congressional candidate Alexandra M. Hunt: "I can’t stand Boebert, but this sexism isn’t cute. There’s no shame to having an OnlyFans. @kurtbardella do better."

Biden's incoming press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre called Fox News 'racist'

President Joe Biden's new press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, called Fox News a "racist" network in early 2020, adding to a growing list of controversial statements she's made that are now being scrutinized as she prepares to take over for Jen Psaki.

On March 15, 2020, Jean-Pierre was a guest on MSNBC's "AM Joy," hosted by Joy Reid. She was part of a panel featuring Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin and former Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele that discussed Fox News' coverage of the emerging COVID-19 pandemic.

In a clip Jean-Pierre shared on Twitter, she accused Fox News of being "racist."

“Fox News was racist before #coronavirus, they are racist during coronavirus, and Fox News will be racist after the coronavirus,” she wrote.

— Karine Jean-Pierre (@Karine Jean-Pierre) 1584313699

According to a transcript of the program pulled by Mediaite, Reid brought up how Tucker Carlson referred to the coronavirus as the "Chinese coronavirus," asserting that Fox hosts were following President Donald Trump's lead in labeling it a "foreign" virus to stir up "xenophobia."

Jean-Pierre went on to say that "xenophobia and racism" have always been a part of virus outbreaks and that "the stigma sometimes is more dangerous than the actual virus."

She then accused Fox News of spreading "misinformation" and stoking racism.

"Fox News was racist before coronavirus, they are racist during the coronavirus, Fox News will be racist after the coronavirus. So there is nothing new here. I think the difference is they are all in on being state TV for Donald Trump, and so they will continue to give the misinformation," Jean-Pierre said in the clip.

"The danger is, so yes, you have Asian-Americans right now whose lives are seriously in danger. And, you have their own viewers who can now, the ones who are 60 and older who are watching, this is a health crisis that we’re in, this is a global pandemic, as the WHO have said, and they’re putting their lives in danger," she said.

The comments raise questions about how Jean-Pierre will maintain a working relationship with Fox News reporters once she takes over for White House press secretary Jen Psaki, who will step down Friday.

She also faces questions over other controversial statements she's made, including a false assertion that the 2018 gubernatorial election in Georgia was "stolen" by Republican Brian Kemp.

Reminder: Brian Kemp stole the gubernatorial election from Georgians and Stacey Abrams.https://www.msnbc.com/morning-joe/watch/governor-admits-he-didn-t-know-asymptomatic-people-could-pass-virus-81532485601\u00a0\u2026
— Karine Jean-Pierre (@Karine Jean-Pierre) 1585845452

Jean-Pierre also faces ethical questions concerning her long-term romantic relationship with CNN national correspondent Suzanne Malveaux. The two live together in Washington D.C. and are raising an adopted 7-year-old dautghter.

MSNBC anchor says world cares about Ukraine because it is white, Christian: 'A lot of soul searching that we need to do'

MSNBC host Joy Reid claimed Monday that Russia's invasion of Ukraine is receiving worldwide attention because Ukraine is largely white and Christian.

What did Reid say?

During a monologue on her show "The ReidOut," Reid highlighted the Yemen Civil War, which is widely viewed as a proxy war between Saudi Arabia and Iran.

As Reid explained, the Yemen war, which the U.S. has been involved in by supporting Saudi efforts, has resulted in a significant humanitarian crisis, resulting in millions of displaced people and hundreds of thousands of deaths, according to the United Nations.

But, Reid observed, "we haven't witnessed the same type of solidarity for the Yeminis as we do for the Ukrainians," citing sanctions and global companies taking a stand.

"The coverage of Ukraine has revealed a pretty radical disparity in how human Ukrainians look and feel to western media compared to their browner and blacker counterparts, with some reporters using very telling comparisons in their analyses of the war," Reid continued, before playing clips of reporters making comments about the Ukraine war that she found objectionable.

.@JoyAnnReid: "There is a lot of soul-searching we need to do in Western media about why some wars, and lives, seem to matter more than others, and why some refugees get the welcome mat, while others get the wall." #TheReidOutpic.twitter.com/NYH9fUc7ME
— The ReidOut (@The ReidOut) 1646702248

"OK, let's face it. The world is paying attention because this is happening in Europe," Reid claimed. "If this was happening anywhere else would we see the same outpouring of support and compassion?"

"Well, we don't need to ask ourselves if the international response will be the same if Russia unleashed their horror on a country that wasn’t white and largely Christian — because Russia has already done it in Syria," she claimed.

"This is a teachable moment for us in the media. We're not afraid to call out our industry," Reid continued. "There is a lot of soul searching that we need to do in western media about why some wars and lives seem to matter more than others. And why some refugees get the welcome mat while others get the wall."

Anything else?

CNN host Fareed Zakaria disagrees with Reid's assessment, and explained over the weekend precisely why claims like Reid's are wrong.

According to Zakaria, Russia's full-scale war is not the same as other wars in Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East because Russia is a the largest nuclear power in the world, and its war may not stop with Ukraine.

"It's not — to put it directly to people who think about this and they say, 'Why are Ukrainians, why do we pay so much attention, is it just because they are white?' — no, it is not because Ukrainians are white or European, it's because their aggressor, their invader, is a nuclear armed superpower," Zakaria said. "That if Russia can get away with this, it can get away with invading Poland. It can get away with invading the Baltic states. China can get away with invading Taiwan."

Video resurfaces of Louisville shooter at gun-control rally telling Joy Reid how much he 'loves' David Hogg

The suspect arrested in connection with Monday’s shooting of Craig Greenberg, a Democratic mayoral candidate in Louisville, Kentucky, has been identified as 21-year-old Quintez Brown, an activist for civil rights and gun control who in 2018 appeared with MSNBC’s Joy Reid during the anti-gun violence "March for Our Lives" demonstration that followed the Parkland shooting.

A video of Brown's appearance with Reid was recirculated on Twitter by Chuck Ross, a reporter for The Washington Free Beacon, with the caption: "The Louisville activist who shot a mayoral candidate appeared on Joy Reid’s show at an anti-gun violence rally. Said he 'loves' David Hogg."

Brown was charged with attempted murder and four counts of wanton endangerment after shooting at Greenberg in his campaign headquarters, but fortunately no one was injured in the shooting, the Louisville Courier Journal reported.

The Courier Journal also noted that Brown is a former intern and editorial columnist for the paper who in 2019 ripped into "gun-loving Republicans" for supporting a concealed carry law in Kentucky.

"They've put a price tag on your life and decided that the blood money they receive from the NRA is more valuable," Brown wrote of Republican lawmakers.

"If enslaved blacks were considered people in 1789, this is how the Second Amendment probably would have read: 'A well regulated white Militia being necessary to the security of a free white State, the rights of white men to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed,'" he later added.

According to journalist and author Andy Ngo, Brown is also a Black Lives Matter activist, and a huge fan of Communist leaders Che Guevara, Chairman Mao, and Ibrahim Frantz Fanon — in addition to David Hogg, of course.

Joy Reid admits she was vaccine 'hesitant' under Trump because former president was 'controlling,' 'manipulating' CDC and FDA

It's a good week to be Joy Reid.

Sitting upon her posh MSNBC pedestal, the host of "The Reid Out" took COVID-19 potshots at rapper Nicki Minaj one day and the entire Republican Party on another — and as a result Reid's name has been all over social media.

It's commentary and part of what she does and completely fair game — but when unsubstantiated stuff is baked into her rapid-fire delivery, it needs to be noted at the very least.

Such as Reid's wild rant saying Republicans "love COVID so much" they "want it to spread into schools, at the office, in the Walmart, on the cruise ships, and at the club" — and even "want it pumping through [their] veins with an ivermectin chaser."

Or Reid's unprovable accusation that Minaj, by expressing her vaccine hesitancy on Twitter, "put people in the position of dying" of the virus.

The hits just keep on coming

But viral social media hits are at stake here, folks — and Reid smelled the blood in the water and kept going for the jugular on Thursday.

Speaking to author and professor Michael Eric Dyson about Minaj's vaccine hesitancy — and general hesitancy in the black community — Reid revisited her own reluctance to get a COVID-19 vaccine not long ago.

"I was hesitant," Reid told Dyson. "When [former President] Donald Trump was out there controlling the CDC and controlling the FDA and manipulating them and making them put out falsehoods, anybody rational was hesitant."

But now with President Joe Biden in office, Reid is just fine with the vaccines and added to Dyson that "the reality is now, what I really fear is ... more masses of people dying ... and disproportionally they look like you and me, Michael. And what scares me is that people are creating a cultural imperative to set themselves up for death when the people pushing them to do it like Tuckums [i.e. Fox News' Tucker Carlson] are vaccinated and safe — and even if they got COVID are gonna get all the monoclonal antibodies. They could give a damn if Nicki Minaj gets COVID and dies. They don't give a damn about us."

Joy Reid again defends her belief that it was NECESSARY to be anti-vaxxer when Trump was in office: "I was hesitant… https://t.co/gEgRj89g9e

How did folks react to Reid's claims?

Quite a few observers were only too happy to point out Reid's partisan-fueled vaccine hesitancy when Trump was in office. Here's the start of a Twitter thread containing a jaw-dropping number of examples of Reid's crusade under Trump:

— Drew Holden (@DrewHolden360) 1631816719.0

And while the following tweet is noted in the above thread, it deserves a spotlight, since Reid actually declared vaccine hesitancy even if Biden were elected:

Others had the following to say:

  • "It's the same vaccine," one Twitter user observed.
  • "OMG. That was rich. She acts as though we're talking about a different vaccine, a different CDC and a different FDA than we were a year ago," another user said. "Nothing has changed except now Joe Biden is in the White House. What a flake."
  • "Joy was against vaccine when Trump was in office but now OKs mandating the exact same vaccine because... science?" another commenter asked. "Joy is a racist. Joy could care less about people dying or the efficacy of the vaccine. She pushes whatever narrative she is told and lives untouched in her bubble."
  • "More proof that if Trump told everyone to wear masks in March 2020, the entire left would be anti-maskers," another commenter noted.

MSNBC's Joy Reid calls Republican Party a 'creepy little COVID-loving death cult' in 'vile' on-air rant — and gets blasted for it

Fresh off her war of words with rapper Nicki Minaj — whom she accused of being culpable for the possible deaths of black people by casting doubts on COVID-19 vaccines — MSNBC's Joy Reid widened her aim Wednesday and took on the Republican Party.

What did she say?

Reid — appearing more than a bit wide-eyed and ravenous in front of the camera — delivered what may be the winning entry for Hyperbolic Leftist Rant of the Year.

"OK, we get it!" Reid hollered at the GOP faithful, who no doubt were glued to their TV screens. "COVID is the precious, and you love it. You love COVID so much you want it to spread into schools, at the office, in the Walmart, on the cruise ships, and at the club. That great spongy ball with the red spikes? You want it pumping through your veins with an ivermectin chaser. Why do you love it so daggone much? Well, we have absolutely no bloody idea."

Then after calling the GOP "weirdos" and pointing out some COVID-related stats and tragedies, Reid noted that far-left California Gov. Gavin Newsom's strict COVID policies — well, except for the ones that apparently don't apply to him — are what helped him avoid a recall this week.

"Republicans, your thirst for COVID is why you lost," Reid continued. "Nobody likes your policies that threaten our safety and our kids. You may want COVID. You may want to ingest horse de-wormer and attend far too many funerals, but we don't."

She then added to the GOP that "your creepy little COVID-loving death cult ways are not gonna work for you at the ballot box next year. In fact, it's political suicide — and also apparently talk-radio suicide, because your brilliant little COVID plan is killing your right-wing hosts."

How did observers react?

Reid has an untold number of fans in her leftist camp who'd love it if she ramped up her ranting, but not everyone was down with her colorful characterizations of Republicans:

  • "Why is she allowed to speak like this on air, spreading vile, lying accusations against people she doesn't agree with, likening them to criminals or worse?" one commenter asked. "She's one of the nastiest humans on TV and social media. Many have health-based reasons to not take the shot, many had COVID."
  • "It is interesting to me that liberals, particularly Democrat liberals, seem to project their OWN feelings and beliefs onto everyone else," another user noted. "Dems are the lovers of COVID because they can continue to fear monger and dictate to control others. Joy, go take a valium and seek help."
  • "You absolutely are mental and are contributing to the hate and divisiveness that permeates our country. You're not reporting ... not a journalist; [you're] a lemming for your bosses who just want ratings," another commenter contended. "To lump every Republican together is wrong. Your a bad person. Go away!"
  • "I had COVID, and no, we don't want COVID. What kind of insane person would willingly pump COVID in their veins?" another user wondered. "Watching friends and family struggle and die. Why can't anyone show some humanity toward fellow humans? Oh right, Democrats only know how to hate."

Rapper Nicki Minaj blasts 'dumb a**' Joy Reid for chastising her COVID vaccine hesitancy on MSNBC, rips Reid as hypocritical and 'homophobic'

After rapper Nicki Minaj went viral Monday for stating her COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy on Twitter, MSNBC host Joy Reid chastised Minaj on TV for using her "platform" of 22 million followers to "put people in the position of dying from a disease they don't have to die from."

Well, Minaj wasn't about to take Reid's tongue lashing without a fight — and fired back at the far-left host, calling Reid a "dumb ass" and "homophobic" and "thirsty to down another black woman (by the request of the white man)."

What are the details?

Minaj indicated on Twitter that she wouldn't be attending the Met Gala because it required attendees to be vaccinated.

"They want you to get vaccinated for the Met. If I get vaccinated it won't for the Met. It'll be once I feel I've done enough research. I'm working on that now," Minaj tweeted Monday. "In the meantime my loves, be safe. Wear the mask with 2 strings that grips your head & face. Not that loose one."

— Nicki Minaj (@NICKIMINAJ) 1631568090.0

Shortly afterward Minaj tweeted that her "cousin in Trinidad won't get the vaccine cuz his friend got it & became impotent. His testicles became swollen. His friend was weeks away from getting married, now the girl called off the wedding. So just pray on it & make sure you're comfortable with ur decision, not bullied."

How did Reid respond?

Reid was in full finger-wagging mode against Minaj during the host's "ReidOut" program.

"You have a platform, sister, that is 22 million followers, OK? I have 2 million followers. You have 22 million followers on Twitter," an animated Reid said. "For you to use your platform to encourage our community to not protect themselves and save their lives — my God, sister, you could do better than that! You got that platform ... it's a blessing that you got that! That people listen to you. And they listen to you more than they listen to me!"

Reid added: "For you to use your platform to put people in the position of dying from a disease they don't have to die from, oh my God. As a fan, as a hip-hop fan, as somebody who is your fan, I'm so sad that you did that, so sad that you did that, sister. Oh, my God!"

Minaj fires back

Minaj wasted no time hitting back at Reid: "This is what happens when you're so thirsty to down another black woman (by the request of the white man), that you didn't bother to read all my tweets. 'My God SISTER do better' imagine getting ur dumb ass on TV a min after a tweet to spread a false narrative about a black woman."

The rapper used a racial slur in another tweet, calling Reid a "lying homophobic c**n." The "homophobic" remark presumably refers to Reid getting called out a couple of years ago over anti-LBGTQ blog posts attributed to her — for which she apologized although she couldn't fathom that she wrote them. So Reid figured hackers were out to get her.

Minaj also referred to Reid as "Uncle Tomiana" and pointed out that while she sat on a high horse calling out Minaj's vaccine hesitancy, Reid last September tweeted plenty of vaccine hesitancy herself: "I mean, will anyone ... anyone at all ... ever fully trust the @CDCgov again? And who on God's earth would trust a vaccine approved by the @US_FDA?? How do we get a vaccine distributed after this broken, Trumpist nonsense has infected everything? Even if Biden wins?"

As of Tuesday morning, Reid on her Twitter page has not answered Minaj's pushback.

Joy Reid: Texas is basically a ‘small Soviet Republic’ now. ‘What woman or POC could possibly feel safe there?’

MSNBC anchor Joy Reid lampooned Texas this week over its promotion of conservative legislation — including a constitutional carry provision, election security reform, and a ban on abortions — comparing the state to a satellite republic of the USSR.

"Texas is basically a small Soviet Republic at this point, with neighbors spying on neighbors, hoping to collect a cash bounty, in addition to being an apartheid state for nonwhite voters," the progressive anchor claimed in a tweet, likening private American citizens to the former Soviet KGB.

"What woman or [person of color] could possibly feel safe there?" she asked. "To say nothing of the gun proliferation."

On Wednesday, a number of laws took effect in Texas, including one allowing residents to carry a handgun in public without a permit and another barring abortions after a fetal heartbeat is detected, which typically occurs at six weeks' gestation. The latter provision is to be enforced not by the state but by private citizens now empowered to file a civil lawsuit against doctors who perform an abortion or anyone who "aids and abets" the procedure.

Republicans have also over the last several weeks pushed for a new election security reform bill, which, in part, would increase protections for poll watchers.

In the tweet thread, Reid exasperatedly questioned what the "private citizen bullies" would be permitted to enforce next?

"They've enacted laws letting (potentially armed) thugs "watch" (Black and Latino) voters, prompted Texans to spy on women and file lawsuits for a $ bounty against anyone helping them end a pregnancy," Reid lamented.

"Will Texans be prompted to spy on teachers to ensure they are not teaching the true history of slavery and are only upholding the prim dignity of the white founding fathers? How about urging citizens to inform on and sue parents who send their children to school masked?" she asked.

The anchor then warned that similarly dangerous measures will soon be passed in Florida.

"[Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis] isn't just gonna sit back and let [Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott] out-Viktor Orban him," she said, alluding to the Hungarian prime minister who, ironically, is famous for openly demanding that Soviet troops leave the country during a 1989 speech.

"After that, it's the floodgates in Red America. We are two countries. The United States, and Gilead," she concluded.

MSNBC's Joy Reid calls on Democrats to 'wage war' on Dem Senators Manchin and Sinema

MSNBC anchor Joy Reid led an online mob calling for Democrats to "wage war" on their own members — Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) and Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) — of the U.S. Senate over their party's policy failures.

"At this point, Manchin and Sinema have essentially declared war on President Biden and their own party's agenda. The only question left is whether war will be waged in return," tweeted Reid.

Reid was upset over Sen. Manchin, calling on Democrats to cut their plan to pass a $3.5 trillion spending bill focusing on expanding Medicare and extending the child tax credit passed as pandemic relief.

Manchin voiced his opposition to the bill in an opinion article Thursday in the Wall Street Journal.

"I, for one, won't support a $3.5 trillion bill, or anywhere near that level of additional spending, without greater clarity about why Congress chooses to ignore the serious effects inflation and debt have on existing government programs," Manchin said.

Liberals lashed out at Manchin and Sinema who has also refused to support far-left proposals by Democratic leadership.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) accused Manchin of killing her constituents in New York.

"Manchin has weekly huddles w/ Exxon & is one of many senators who gives lobbyists their pen to write so-called 'bipartisan' fossil fuel bills. It's killing people. Our people. At least 12 last night. Sick of this 'bipartisan' corruption that masquerades as clear-eyed moderation," tweeted Ocasio-Cortez.

"All day our community has been pulling bodies out of homes from the flood. Entire families. And we're supposed to entertain lobbyist talking points about why we should abandon people & do nothing? No," she added in a second tweet.

"Manchin and other millionaire Senators will be fine, but the rest of America will suffer," tweeted columnist Wajahat Ali.

Ali and others called for Democrats to strip Sinema and Manchin of their committee assignments.

"F*** Joe Manchin. Just f*** him," read another tweet.

The progressive left was similarly outraged against centrist Democrats after the Supreme Court refused to strike down a pro-life law in Texas placing increased restrictions on abortion.

Reid went on to accuse Manchin and Sinema of being in "the pockets of the super rich."
