Watch: Oklahoma police officer smashes through fence, makes flying tackle to apprehend suspect in thrilling bodycam video

An Oklahoma police officer has gone viral after bodycam video was released of him doing everything in his power to apprehend a suspect – including smashing through a fence.

A 20-year-old suspect led officers on a wild police chase last month.

Police dashcam video shows an officer in hot pursuit of a silver sedan speeding down a road. At one point, the sedan nearly collides with a white pickup truck in an intersection.

Police bodycam video shows the suspect ditching his car after a crash and jumping over a fence in a residential area.

An officer is seen on bodycam footage climbing to the top of the fence to deploy his taser at the man on the run, but the suspect escapes.

A second officer with the Moore Police Department sneaks through a hole in the dilapidated fence.

A third police officer – identified as Sgt. Justin Sternberg – is seen sprinting to the crime scene before lowering his shoulder and barreling through the fence. Despite smashing through the fence, the officer doesn't lose a beat and chases after the suspect.

Police bodycam footage shows the two officers climbing over another fence.

Officer Sternberg jumps over two more fences.

The thrilling video shows Sternberg climbing to the top of a fence and making a flying tackle on the suspect. Sternberg and the suspect allegedly both got tased at the end of the confrontation.

The suspect is then arrested for allegedly stealing a vehicle. Police said they found a firearm and a bag of marijuana in the stolen vehicle.

Sternberg told KOCO-TV, "It was run through it or try to climb it, and I think trying to climb it would have taken more time. So, in my head, 'Just run through it.' I had to jump another fence to another fence to take him into custody. As I did jump the fence, I ended up getting tased. So, we were both getting tased at the same time."

As far as the now-broken fence that Sternberg plowed through, the Moore Police Department said, "The family will work with us and the city to get the repairs done."

Clint Byley, with the Moore Police Department, stated: "We did make an attempt to talk with the homeowners. As of last check, I don't know if we've made physical contact with them yet, but they're more than welcome to come to the police department to talk about what happened. And then, we can get them into contact with the city if they don't have the ability to do that themselves."

Sternberg offered to help the family fix the broken fence.

"I'm sorry. If I need to come out and fix it, I will. I can help," Sternberg said.

Heart-racing dashcam video shows trooper miraculously cheat death during brutal traffic stop crash: 'Difficult to watch'

A viral dashcam video shows the moment an Oklahoma trooper narrowly avoided disaster after a car smashed into a vehicle that had been pulled over by the law enforcement officer. Miraculously, there were no severe injuries from the devastating car crash that happened during the traffic stop.

Trooper Jesse Gregory with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol pulled over a white SUV on Jan. 18. Gregory was on the passenger side of the SUV and speaking to the driver.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, a black SUV zooming down the highway violently slammed into the car. Debris from the forceful collision flew into the air, and the trooper was launched into the grass from the impact of the car crash. Despite being involved in the brutal collision, Gregory was able to jump to his feet and can be seen in the dashcam video running out of frame.

Gregory told KWTV-DT, "And after watching the video, I don't even remember barrel-rolling to my feet."

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol described the police dashcam footage of the terrifying car crash as "difficult to watch."

The trooper said, "Hopefully this is my scare of the career."

The crash is being investigated, and it has yet to be determined whether the vehicle that plowed into the stationary car had been speeding.

Luckily, all three people in the accident had not only survived the car crash but had already been "treated and released," according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Trooper Gregory said he is "ready to come back" to work.

He admitted, "And just kind of work through it because I know it's going to take a little bit mentally to come back."

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said in a post on Facebook that it had posted the shocking video to remind the public of "distracted or impaired driving and the importance of the slow down, move over law."

"We are in the middle of a distracted driving emphasis right now in honor of Trooper Nicholas Dees, who lost his life in the line of duty after being struck by a distracted driver," the Oklahoma Highway Patrol stated.

Trooper Nicholas Dees was investigating a tractor-trailer accident around 10 p.m. on Jan, 31, 2015, when he was struck and killed by a distracted driver. The driver was reportedly updating his social media while driving and killed Dees in the line of duty. The driver was charged with manslaughter and sentenced to five years in prison.

Ironically, Gregory was involved in another police traffic stop crash that happened just weeks ago.

On Jan. 5, Canadian County Deputy Jose Mendoza was tossed to the ground after a pickup truck barreled into the vehicle that had been pulled over to the shoulder. Gregory is seen in the police dashcam footage rushing to provide Mendoza with assistance.

Gregory said, "He was struck in the exact same situation. I was less than a mile from him, and I was actually first on scene and called for help."

Mendoza and the others involved in the car accident all survived and suffered varying levels of injuries.

The Canadian County Sheriff's Office said Mendoza is recovering in a long-term rehabilitation facility.

Video shows Seattle police retreat from unruly mob that stopped cops from breaking up illegal street-racing gathering where 4 people were shot

Dashcam video shows an unruly crowd attacking a police cruiser in Seattle, Washington. The chaotic mob prevented police from breaking up an illegal street-racing gathering in the area where four people were shot — one fatally.

Shortly before 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, officers from the Seattle Police Department responded to reports of a large crowd assembling at the intersection of Broadway and E Pike Street. The crowd gathered to watch an illegal street race and cars do reckless donuts.

When officers arrived at the scene, they were "met with resistance."

Police dashcam footage shows the disorderly crowd hurling items at the police vehicle. Individuals were seen on video jumping on the hood of the police cruiser and dancing.

The police cruiser began to back away from the crowd. Some people constructed a makeshift barricade in the middle of the street with bicycles and traffic barriers. Several rioters threw objects that struck the police cruiser.

As the officer with the Seattle Police Department retreated, the horde stalked the cruiser.

At the end of the dashcam video, a firework is seen being launched in the distance.

Capitol Hill Seattle Blog reported, "Around 2:46 a.m., property damage was reported in the area but officers were told not to engage — 'Only going in for life safety, no property damage.'"

The crowd reportedly grew to roughly 200 people as cars performed donuts in the street.

The Seattle Police Department said in a statement, "Shortly before 4:00 a.m., officers heard gunfire and located two victims at the intersection of Broadway and E Pike Street. Police performed life-saving measures on both subjects until Seattle Fire Department personnel arrived."

Four people were shot early Sunday morning in the Capitol Hill area — where the street-racing action took place. A woman died from her gunshot wounds, according to Newsweek.

The three other shooting victims were reportedly in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

"Officers located several shell casings, but no suspect," police said.

No arrests were made in connection to the shootings.

The Seattle City Council passed legislation on Tuesday with the intent to reduce drag racing and dangerous driving, according to KOMO.

"Our community has been pleading for help for years to stop drag racing," said Councilmember Lisa Herbold — who chairs the Public Safety Committee and sponsored the legislation. "This month's crash on Alki Avenue Southwest shows just how dangerous conditions have become. I'm proud to have partnered with neighbors and pass this first-of-its-kind legislation to make our streets safer."

The city will install speed-enforcement cameras where there is dangerous driving often reported. However, Capitol Hill is not on the list of areas that will get security cameras.

Gripping video shows NC trooper risking his life to crash police cruiser into car of accused drunk driver: 'Most undoubtedly saved lives'

A North Carolina State Highway Patrol trooper is being heralded as a hero for putting himself in danger to stop a suspected drunk driver. The brave and selfless actions of the state trooper may have saved lives.

In the early morning hours of April 8, several police officers were in pursuit of a driver accused of driving while intoxicated. North Carolina State Highway Patrol said Trooper Cody Thao joined the effort to stop an alleged drunk driver to prevent innocent people from being harmed or killed by the erratic driver.

The suspect – Joshua Ray Bibey – was speeding up an exit ramp in the wrong traffic direction. Thao was coming off the exit ramp in the correct direction. With only seconds to make a decision, Thao unselfishly and gallantly steered his police cruiser towards the oncoming vehicle. Thao's patrol car violently collided with the 26-year-old suspect's vehicle – which appears to be a pickup truck. Police dashcam video shows Thao's cruiser spin off the road after slamming into the vehicle in Wake County.

Thao intentionally drove into the DUI suspect, knowing that the driver was speeding toward the interstate exit – where other cars could have been exiting.

Bibey, of Raleigh, was arrested and charged with driving while impaired.

"I could not be prouder of Trp. Thao and his quick decision to stop the wrong-way driver, his actions most undoubtedly saved lives," Colonel Freddy L. Johnson, Jr. – commander of the North Carolina State Highway Patrol – said in a statement. "His willingness to put himself in harm’s way is representative of the lifesaving work our members do each day. Placing others before ourselves is not just a saying amongst the law enforcement profession, it's a reality of what we do for the betterment of the communities we serve."

Thao told WTVD, "Once I saw the vehicle, I just decided to stop the chase right there. This is what we signed up to do, this is what we agreed to do."

He added, “All the credit goes out to the other troopers who inspire me on a daily basis especially here in Wake County.”

Thao has only been with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol for less than a year.

"Before that, I actually worked at a Tractor Supply," he said. "I don’t have any prior experience with law enforcement. I’ve always had a servant’s heart, and I’ve always wanted to help people."

There was a very similar incident in March, when a Florida state trooper put herself in harm's way by purposely navigating her police cruiser into an oncoming driver who was allegedly drunk.
