Liberals are furious at Biden statement deriding activist anger over Dobbs abortion decision: 'Just go f*** yourself'

The Biden administration lashed out at liberal criticism over its response to the Dobbs Supreme Court decision and many reacted with furious anger online.

Some supporters of President Joe Biden have turned into critics after what they saw as a tepid response to the court overturning the landmark Roe vs. Wade decision despite having months to prepare after the draft decision was leaked.

On Saturday, the administration released a statement addressing the furor.

“The president has been showing his deep outrage as an American and executing his bold plan — which is the product of months of hard work — ever since this decision was handed down,” White House communications director Kate Bedingfield said to the Washington Post.

“Joe Biden’s goal in responding to Dobbs is not to satisfy some activists who have been consistently out of step with the mainstream of the Democratic Party," she added. "It’s to deliver help to women who are in danger and assemble a broad-based coalition to defend a woman’s right to choose now, just as he assembled such a coalition to win during the 2020 campaign."

Instead of quelling the rebellion, the defiant statement angered Biden critics on the left even more.

"Remarkable statement from the White House, defending its tepid response to abortion by trashing... the left," replied progressive reporter Jordan Zakarin. "Vote harder... and go f*** yourselves."

"Just a reminder - if you've been frustrated by the administration's lack of response to Roe, that's because you are, once again, out of step with the mainstream of the party. So just go f*** yourself, and remember - vote in November!" responded screenwriter Josh Olson.

"Maybe they’ve consistently been out of step with the Democratic Party because you f***s fundraised off of threats to Roe instead of codifying it and now many of them are facing second class citizenship at best and a death sentence at worst," tweeted health science writer Katie MacBride.

"They’ll tell anyone who cares about the issue to go f*** themselves in an attempt to gain credibility with Republicans who would sooner kill them than vote for them," read another angry response. "A party that’s worse than useless at everything but being reluctant collaborators with Christian fascists."

Some have seen the increasingly public criticism of Biden as a sign that Democrats are preparing to tank a possible re-election campaign and instead choose a more responsive Democratic nominee for the 2024 presidential election.

Even Ocasio-Cortez is upset at Democratic leadership over SOTU social distancing rules: 'That doesn't make sense'

Progressive Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York joined the chorus of people criticizing the social distancing rules imposed by Democratic leadership for the State of the Union address Tuesday.

Masking requirements were dropped ahead of President Joe Biden's first State of the Union speech, prompting many to accuse officials of following the polling instead of the science.

Ocasio-Cortez took to Twitter to complain about the rules because they meant some members of the press would not be allowed to attend.

"If leadership decided masks are now optional at SOTU, then how are they requiring social distancing to the extent of excluding press? That doesn’t make sense," Ocasio-Cortez tweeted Tuesday.

Initially, the guidance from the Sergeant-at-Arms at the U.S. Senate and from the U.S. Capitol's attending physician said all members of Congress could attend the speech but that they would have to wear a KN95 mask and have a PCR test within one day of the event.

Then on Sunday, the attending physician said the guidance was changed to make masks optional just two days ahead of the State of the Union.

Dr. Brian Monahan said in a memo to members of Congress that they “may choose to mask at any time, but it is no longer a requirement.”

Monahan pointed to new guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to explain his fortuitous lifting of masking demands.

Many Republicans, like Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky, indicated that they would forego attending the address because of the testing requirements.

"I'm healthy, so I won’t be taking a test for COVID… so I won’t be attending the #SOTU," he tweeted.

"I don't have time to go take a COVID test today. I only take a test if I’m sick," said Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) to explain why he wouldn't be attending.

Biden is expected to address the ongoing invasion of Ukraine by Russia in his speech, as well as the economic challenges besetting his constituents.

MSNBC viewers melt down on social media after John Bolton says Biden has failed to handle the Ukraine crisis

MSNBC viewers lashed out at the progressive cable news channel after veteran journalist Andrea Mitchell interviewed John Bolton about the Biden administration's failures in Ukraine.

The former national security advisor in the Trump administration criticized President Joe Biden for failing to proactively prevent Russia's invasion into Ukraine, a former Soviet republic.

"I think [Russian President] Putin was undoubtedly waiting for a second Trump term. but he's getting almost effectively what he would have expected then," said Bolton. "This is gonna be a victory for Russia."

"You think that what the Biden administration is doing, rallying the NATO allies," Mitchell replied before getting interrupted.

"It has failed," Bolton fired back. "The president has said it has failed.

They went on to debate whether NATO was more unified under the real threat of Russian invasion or whether it remained divided, but the viewers were not impressed by Bolton's presence on the show or Mitchell's reactions to his critique.

"I don’t want to hear John Bolton’s opinion on what we should be doing with Russia or anything for that matter," tweeted failed congressional candidate Richard Ojeda.

"Literally the last person on earth who should be giving foreign policy advice right now. Perpetually incorrect bloodthirsty warmonger," replied YouTuber Kyle Kulinski.

"I would literally interview satan about Russia/Ukraine before even asking John Bolton how he likes his coffee," read one very popular tweet.

"Why would @andreamitchell give air time to a filthy traitor like john bolton? I despise her, for good reason," read another popular tweet.

Putin announced in an angry rant on Monday that Russia would be sending what he termed as "peacekeepers" into separatist regions of the former Soviet republic. Ukrainian leaders have warned that the ruse was likely a precursor to Russian forces seizing control of the country. Putin also said that other former Soviet republics should have never been allowed to leave Russia.

Bolton has fallen out of favor with supporters of former President Donald Trump after Bolton made damaging claims about him in a book he wrote after leaving the White House in 2019.

Progressives bitterly lash out at Democrats over report that 'squad politics' has tanked the party's chances in the midterms

The progressive wing of the Democratic party lashed out angrily over a report in Axios detailing how top Democrats believe the politics of "the quad" has damaged the party and sunk their chances in the midterm elections.

The report says that many Democrats blame the group of far left progressives for pushing unpopular policies like defunding the police, renaming schools, and toppling statues.

Democrats faced an uphill battle already in the midterm election given that more of their seats are up for election than those currently belonging to Republicans. Polling in recent months shows that Americans are rejecting Democratic policies, further worsening their chances.

The report highlighted the stunning recall of three progressive members of the San Francisco school board, explaining, "the most liberal city in the most liberal state decided that liberal activists had gone too far."

Internal polling showed that Americans saw Democrats as "preachy," "judgmental," and "focused on culture wars" instead of solving real problems.

While the aides to the squad members didn't comment for the report, some of the congress members responded on Twitter.

"In case you hadn’t caught on by now, every time there’s a media push blaming progressives, there’s something conservative Democrats are trying to cover up. This time it’s that they sent 4 million kids into poverty because they killed the Child Tax Credit. Don’t get distracted," replied Rep. Cori Bush (D-Mo.).

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez responded with an emoji symbol of agreement, but in her own tweet, she blamed capitalism for the report.

"Truly wild how these folks called the shots & got their desired nominees, agenda, priorities, legislative order, and excluded us from participating in campaigns yet find no shortage of ppl willing to write as their uncritical stenographers. This is how capital & power works folks," she tweeted.

Others on social media responded by calling the report "racist and sexist."

The social media kerfuffle is just the latest in the battle waged by far left progressives to wrestle control of the Democratic party away from the centrist establishment wing.

Biden refuses to extend student loan relief, and some liberals are lashing out at him: 'I regret voting for Biden LYING A**!'

The Biden administration announced that the pause in student loan payments over the pandemic will end, and many liberal voters lashed out angrily at Democrats.

Student loan payments will begin again on Feb. 1, 2022.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki confirmed Friday that the Biden administration would not seek to extend the pause on student loan payment.

"A smooth transition back into repayment is a high priority for the administration," said Psaki. "The Department of Education is already communicating with borrowers to help them to prepare for return to repayment on February 1st and has secured contract extensions with loan servicers.”

Psaki said that the pause had benefitted about 41 million Americans who had outstanding student loans.

Many took to social media, including some progressive politicians, to bash the administration over the announcement.

"Biden ran on a promise of student loan relief, paving a way to help millions of people. Now student loan payments are set to begin on Feb 1st. Broken promises will lose is elections in 2022 & 2024. Biden we voted for you to follow through on your promises," replied self-described "drag artist" Marti Cummings.

"A note to Democrats who blame progressives after losing an election: Forcing millions to start paying student loans again and cutting off the Child Tax Credit at the start of an election year is not a winning strategy. We're warning you now, don't point fingers in November," responded far left Rep. Cori Bush (D-Mo.).

"People need relief and they need it now. Pass the Build Back Better Act and cancel student debt," demanded Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.).

"This will be bad," claimed Mckayla Wilkes, a progressive candidate for Congress.

638,000 people have received student loan forgiveness under the Biden Administration & their lives have improved!\n\nBut let me get this straight: for the other 98.6% of borrowers, payments are turning on next month w/o any forgiveness at all? Not even the $10k?\n\nThis will be bad.
— Mckayla Wilkes for Congress (@Mckayla Wilkes for Congress) 1639424668

"The more and more emails I get about student loan payments starting back up the more and more I regret voting for Biden LYING ASS!" said one critic.

Among those upset about student loan repayment was Chase Buttigieg, the same-sex husband of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, who mocked a message he received about his own student loan.

Biden has promised to push student loan forgiveness for up to $10,000 for each borrower, but progressives have called both for forgiveness up to $50,000 and for complete loan forgiveness altogether.

Critics of the progressive campaign to forgive student loans have pointed out that many of the beneficiaries of such a program would be high wage earners, and a program without caps would actually be a handout for some of the wealthiest in America.

VIDEO: Liberal protesters confront Biden's DHS secretary at his home and demand he stop deportations

Illegal immigrant advocates targeted the home of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for a protest over the immigration policies they say are an extension of former President Donald Trump's policies.

Videos posted to the social media account of "Never Again Action" showed protesters at Mayorkas' home with a 30-foot banner accusing him of continuing policies of the previous administration.

In another video, protesters appear to confront Mayorkas and his wife in front of their Washington, D.C., home.

"We talked briefly to the wife of DHS Secretary Mayorkas. She was very angry, and told us that this was her family home. And we really do understand that," the account tweeted.

"But again, there are families being torn apart every day," they added. "There are people being deported from their home forever, every day."

In a statement issued by the organization they specifically point to the "Title 42 policy" under which the Trump administration deported many migrants seeking refugee status out of the country while their application was processed. Biden has also used the same rationale to deport Haitian migrants who showed up by the thousands in Del Rio, Texas, asking for refugee status.

The group also claimed to have shut down all access through the gates at the DHS offices by blocking them with their cars.

On Friday, Mayorkas said that all the migrants who had been sheltering under a bridge in Del Rio had been removed, effectively ending the squalid encampment. Later on Sunday, he admitted under pressure from Chris Wallace of Fox News that many thousands of those migrants had not been deported to Haiti, but had been allowed into the United States.

The Biden administration has also been criticized from many on the right for relaxing other immigration policies. Some reports say the rhetoric from the Biden administration has precipitated the immigration crisis at the border by appearing to encourage illegal aliens to seek legal status or refugee status.

Far-left candidate Nina Turner blames 'evil money' for loss in Ohio Dem primary despite raising more money than her opponent

A progressive candidate who lost the Democratic primary for Ohio's 11th Congressional district blamed the manipulation by "evil money," despite raising more money and spending more money than the victor.

Nina Turner had the benefit of national name recognition garnered from previously co-chairing the 2016 presidential campaign for Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), but she lost the primary election to Cuyahoga County Councilwoman Shontel Brown.

On Tuesday evening, Turner angrily claimed that she didn't actually lose the race in her concession speech.

"I am going to work hard to ensure that something like this never happens to a progressive candidate again. See, we didn't lose this race — evil money manipulated and maligned this election," she told her supporters.

"See, I don't want you to relent, because it took evil money," Turner continued.

"They took evil money to come in here and do this," she added. "Well, I swear to you, that as sure as there is a God in heaven, sister Turner is going to continue working with every fiber of her being until true justice reigns."

But, as many on social media pointed out, Turner lost the primary election despite raising much more money than Brown and outspending her as well.

According to the Columbus Dispatch, Turner raised $4.5 million for her campaign, an amount they referred to as "staggering." Brown only raised $2.1 million, less than half of her progressive opponent.

Progressives took to social media to express their outrage at the Democratic establishment about the election.

"Gloves are off for Democratic Majority for Israel and all other right-wing lobbyists for Israel. We will fight anti-semitism everywhere we see it but we're not going to let you hide behind that b******t excuse as you practice endless corruption. They bought this election," tweeted Cenk Uygur, a failed congressional candidate and YouTube personality.

Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison similarly blamed dark money "forces" that "love the unfair status quo which enriches the money and oppresses the many."

"[T]he bleak & bland reality in all this is that organized money continues to exert tremendous influence in American politics — and the Democratic establishment warmly embraces it," replied Jacobin writer Luke Savage.

Others opined that her use of the phrase "dark money" in apparent reference to campaign donations from Jewish groups supporting her opponent amounted to antisemitism.

Brown is expected to sail to victory in the heavily Democratic district and claim the congressional seat in the regular election on Nov. 2.

'Defund the police is a chokehold around the Democratic Party!' says top House Democrat on MSNBC

A top House Democrat leader lambasted an MSNBC host for accusing him of scapegoating the "defund the police" movement and added that it was a "chokehold" around the Democratic Party.

Democratic House Majority Whip James Clyburn of South Carolina responded angrily to MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan, who pressed him Thursday on complaints from the progressive wing of his party.

Hasan cited a focus group study that found that many swing voters found the Republican campaigns against "defund the police" to be unpersuasive.

"Is the whole attention on 'defund the police' really a deflection by the party leadership from your own failures? That's what your critics on the left would say," Hasan asked.

"That is absolutely poppycock!" responded Clyburn.

"I know what I'm talking about! I'm out here with the voters every day! I did a town hall meeting last night, in Jasper County, South Carolina, and I can tell you, 'defund the police' is a non-starter! Even with black people!" he continued.

"And if you don't think that's true, then look at the results of what just happened in New York City's election!" Clyburn added, referring to the winner of the Democratic mayoral primary election.

"The proof is in the pudding!" he said. "I know what I'm talking about, I talk to people every day, and 'defund the police' is a chokehold around the Democratic Party!"

Clyburn went on to say that he was on the left of his party and had been progressive all of his life. Hasan accused him of taking up Republican talking points against Democrats, but he did not back down.

"I said it because it's real. It's a real problem. You should stop sloganeering," Clyburn said.

The battle on MSNBC was the latest skirmish in a war within the Democratic Party between the far-left progressives who want to steer the party's messaging to more extreme positions, and the moderate centrists who are resisting them.

The "defunding of police" departments has been so unpopular that the White House has attempted unsuccessfully to accuse Republicans of defunding police.

Liberals melt down on Twitter over video of Sen. Sinema's thumbs-down vote against the minimum wage hike

Liberals who were hoping that Democrat Sen. Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona might vote in support of a minimum wage hike were disappointed and many angrily turned to social media to register their outrage.

The openly bisexual senator is also a moderate Democrat on many issues owing to the demographics of the state she represents. On Friday she voted alongside 7 other Democrats to kill the proposal from Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) to include the wage hike in the latest coronavirus relief package.

Sinema's critics were especially outraged because of the way she entered her vote.

"Sinema just jauntily gave the middle finger to tens of millions of low wage workers," tweeted another critic.

"Kyrsten Sinema giving the $15 minimum wage a 'Gladiator' style thumbs down would've been a left twitter joke a week ago," tweeted Ken Klippenstein, a reporter at The Intercept.

"No matter what you think of @kyrstensinema's vote, these optics are horrible," tweeted journalist Yashar Ali. "You may think people don't deserve to be paid more, but you don't need to make a show of it."

Others were incensed that Sinema had brought a large chocolate cake into the Senate and compared her to Marie Antoinette, the historical figure known for a similar act.

"Incredible. On the day that she votes to block a raise in the minimum wage for 32 million working class Americans, @kyrstensinema not only walks into the Senate with a big chocolate cake but posts on FB about a future getaway to Bora Bora. 'Let them eat cake,' indeed," tweeted progressive activist Kai Newkirk.

"Kyrsten Sinema is an out-bi Senator but a closeted Conservative and wannabe Marie Antoinette," tweeted another critic.

"She's decided she's going to be a media darling as Marie Antoinette of the establishment. Dress in a super fun way, do performatively hip thumbs downs as she votes to kill higher wages & now rub it in with symbolic cake we can all eat instead of higher salaries," tweeted failed congressional candidate Cenk Uygur.

It turned out that Sinema had brought the cake for Senate staff who had to work through the night over a request by a Republican senator.

Sinema explained in a statement after the vote that she would support a raise in the minimum wage but not the inclusion of it in the coronavirus relief bill.

Breaking: Neera Tanden nomination for Cabinet post withdrawn in major defeat for Biden admin

President Joe Biden withdrew the nomination of Neera Tanden to his Cabinet after several Democratic senators said they could not support her over toxic tweets against Republicans and progressives.

The major defeat for the Biden administration was first reported by the Washington Post.

A statement from Tanden, the head of the Center for American Progress, asked the president to withdraw her nomination on Tuesday.

"I am writing to you to withdraw my nomination for Director of the Office of Management and Budget," she said in the statement. "Unfortunately, it now seems clear that there is no path forward to gain confirmation, and I do not want continued consideration of my nomination to be a distraction from your other priorities."

The White House released a statement from Biden accepting the withdrawal.

"I have accepted Neera Tanden's request to withdraw her name from nomination for Director of the Office of Management and Budget. I have the utmost respect for her record of accomplishment, her experience and her counsel, and I look forward to having her serve in a role in my Administration," Biden said in his statement.

"She will bring valuable perspective and insight to our work," he added.

The nomination had resulted in a vicious feud on social media between progressives and establishment Democrats. Many on the far left noted with acidic sarcasm that the Biden administration fought much harder for Tanden's nomination than they did for the inclusion of a $15 minimum wage hike in the latest coronavirus relief bill.

On the other end, Biden supporters unleashed a wave of racist and sexist missives against a Washington Post reporter for what they saw as an attempt to further tank the Tanden nomination with a moderate Republican senator.

Critics of Tanden cited her past "toxic" tweets against Republicans and some on the left, including Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.).
