Will new 'Agatha All Along' series reverse Marvel’s downward trend?

Marvel’s surrender to wokeness has all but ruined the franchise. Longtime comic book fans have fled for hills when their favorite MCU characters have been gender-bent, race-bent, or altered to be more socially acceptable.

However, Disney+ will soon debut a new series called “Agatha All Along,” which follows Agatha Harkness, the villain from Marvel Studios’ "WandaVision.”

Could “Agatha” reverse Marvel’s downward spiral?

Lauren Chen, Blaze Media’s cinema critic, discusses the upcoming series.

Disney's NEXT FLOP: 'Agatha' Trailer Breakdownwww.youtube.com

Although the series won’t drop until September, the trailer alone has Lauren fearing that the show will be yet another money pit.

First, she doesn’t think the series will generate enough interest.

“It's not like this was a particularly popular character in the comics and even in ‘WandaVision,’ the show that introduced her,” she says.

Further, according to rumors Lauren is privy to, “the reason they're giving Agatha her own series is not just because she's potentially another girlboss character they can exploit, but also because they are hoping to resurrect Scarlet Witch in the MCU.”

Even the show's producers seem wary about the series, given that it was announced in 2021 but is premiering three years later.

“It definitely seems like the prolonged production period was due, at least in part, to uncertainty on behalf of the show's creators,” says Lauren, adding that the series “has had four different names at different points in time” – names that “had already been announced to the public,” further solidifying the theory that there’s an air of doubt surrounding the show.

MCU fans are also skeptical about the series appearing to be “more horror-centric” than other MCU shows, but Lauren would enjoy a darker series “if Disney could pull it off.”

As for the series’ wokeness meter, rumors have suggested that “they may make Agatha herself gay or at the very least bisexual,” says Lauren, referencing a Bounding into Comics article.

“I think we should expect this show to be completely lockstep in line with the M-She-U as of late,” she predicts. “I personally cannot wait to see how much of a flop [‘Agatha All Along’] ends up being.”

For all its faults, Lauren does see a couple of bright spots for the show.

“It doesn’t look cheap,” she says.

And Aubrey Plaza stars in it, but Lauren doubts that “she's going to be enough to save this series.”

Need a laugh? We got you. Introducing ‘Agua Donkeys’ – the best pool-maintenance-related comedy ever produced

When wokeness entered the entertainment industry chat, it began trolling anything and everything it deemed unsuitable for the new progressive narrative — including comedy.

How long has it been since you’ve seen a genuinely good comedy film — one that had you laughing until your sides hurt?

For us at Blaze Media, it’s been too long. So, we’re doing something about it.

Last year, we brought you “Re-Opening,” a sidesplitting mockumentary about a theater company trying to reopen amid the pandemic.

And this year, we’re proud to present “Agua Donkeys,” the tale of two pool bros spending the summer chasing good vibes and the girl of their dreams — all at the expense of actually cleaning pools.

It’s a “Napoleon Dynamite” meets “Dumb and Dumber” kind of experience and one you don’t want to miss.

Here’s what people are saying about “Agua Donkeys”:

If you DON’T want your child to think he can have everything he wants, then you might want to avoid THIS upcoming Disney movie …

Disney’s latest animated film, "Wish," will debut this coming November. It’s the tale of a magical kingdom ruled by a king who has the power to grant wishes, but he only chooses to grant some.

What an evil tyrant.

Along comes Asha, a 17-year-old apprentice, who makes a wish of her own that will threaten the king’s power to determine who gets their wishes granted and who does not.

If you can’t see where this is going, then allow Lauren Chen to explain in greater detail.

King Magnifico “actually doesn't grant everybody's wishes,” says Lauren. “He only grants wishes that would be good for the kingdom as a whole.”

“The horror!” she mocks.

“Doesn't that seem like the reasonable thing to do? There are people out there who would absolutely wish for, like, crazy stuff,” she continues. “A good king, a reasonable king should be able to tell people no – that's what being a responsible leader is all about; that's what actual stewardship means.”

To be fair, Lauren acknowledges that “we don't know how the plot is going to play out exactly.”

“Maybe the twist in this film is that King Magnifico actually isn't evil at all; he's just more mature and Asha needs to realize that being an adult actually means sometimes telling people no and not doing whatever you feel like all the time,” Lauren speculates.

But that would mean that Disney has some common sense, and based on the string of recent films the company has put out (most of which were giant flops), it’s probably unlikely that will be the theme.

Further, “the king is a white guy and Asha, the lead, is a diverse female character,” Lauren points out. Add to that the fact that he’s portrayed multiple times in the trailer as an evil tyrant, and it’s almost certain he will be the irredeemable villain.

Lauren isn’t the only one who’s skeptical of “Wish.”

People all over have called out the obvious “questionable moral lesson and identity politics,” but they’ve also expressed a general lack of interest in what they assume will be yet another typical Disney plotline.

One X user commented:

“A magician with immense power being challenged by a young girl with an animal sidekick? That’s just cut and paste Disney.”

“I remember a time not that long ago when Disney animated films were dependably good, where you could count on every single one essentially being a home run, an instant classic, but it seems like we've strayed so far from that,” says Lauren.

THIS proves it’s no longer safe to watch football with your kids

Here’s the deal: when people sit down to watch football, they want to see team spirit, great feats of athleticism, and perhaps even a funny commercial or two during breaks.

What they don’t want to see, however, is a trailer for the latest spine-chilling, demonic horror movie.

This is especially true when football fans have young kids. But family bonding via football has turned into family bonding via all sleeping in the same bed out of fright.

Those who watched the Dallas Cowboys game last Sunday probably know what we’re talking about.

“They are running an advertisement for some 'Exorcist' sequel in the middle of these games,” says Stu Burguiere.

“That looks scary as heck!” exclaims Glenn, who also watched the Cowboys game and the terrifying "Exorcist" trailer at “every commercial break.”

“As a dad … who's gonna be the guy getting up in the middle of the night if my kids are terrified by this?” says Stu.

“We live in a world in which basically the only thing you can safely allow your kids to watch are sports,” he continues, “like everything else is terrible, the Disney channel has become terrible.”

But now even sports aren’t totally benign.

“Occasionally, there'll be a commercial in which the devil's hand comes out of the screen and grasps their throat,” laughs Stu, although he’s serious about the issue.

Glenn recalls the days when television had a designated “family hour” that only aired content safe for everyone, but those days, it seems, are long gone.

“Like the NFL–how much money do they make? ... Billions and billions and billions of dollars,” says Stu. “Just take the money from somebody else … put cigarettes back on television, please!”

“Just don’t scare the crap out of the children … and me, quite honestly,” laughs Glenn.

Video: Fugitive hiding under mattress opens fire on cops who were searching for him. It doesn't end well for suspect.

Oklahoma City police bodycam video caught the terrifying moment when a fugitive who was hiding under a mattress in a travel trailer opened fire on officers who were searching for him. Police released video of the Nov. 15 incident Monday.

What are the details?

Police said they were notified around 10:25 a.m. that a man with an out-of-state felony warrant was in a travel trailer on Iron Road. KOKH-TV said it was a burglary warrant.

Officers learned the suspect, Timothy Johnson, had been seen entering the trailer, and officers were told he had not come out.

Police told the station that Jennifer Garner let three officers into her trailer to search for Johnson.

"This is the police department," Officer Elisa McCoy is heard saying, according to KOKH. "If you are in here, you need to make yourself known."

Amid their search, officers lifted a mattress that covered a storage area — and they saw Johnson with a gun hiding in the space under the mattress.

With that, Johnson opened fire on the officers, all of whom returned fire; video shows that two of the three officers got out of the trailer while one stayed inside.

Moments later the two officers went back inside the trailer and ordered Johnson — who was hollering, presumably in pain — to come out with his hands up.

Suddenly more gunfire erupted, and officers again returned fire — and one of them announced to the other two, "I'm hit! I'm hit!"

The officers again told Johnson to give himself up, but there was no response. With that, all of the officers got out of the trailer.

OKCPD Community Incident Briefing: Officer-Involved Shooting 11-15-22 youtu.be

What happened next?

Police said the department's Tactical Unit was activated and responded to the scene.

After attempts to contact Johnson were unsuccessful, police said the Tactical Unit entered the trailer and found Johnson dead. KOKH said it wasn't released if Johnson's death was self-inflicted.

The officer who said earlier he was hit was struck in the face by flying debris during the exchange of gunfire, police said, adding that the officer was treated at an area hospital and released.

All three officers were placed on routine administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation, police said.

KOKH noted that it's unclear how Johnson and Garner knew each other, but Garner was arrested for harboring a fugitive. Police said that Garner was aware that Johnson was hiding in the trailer with a gun.

WATCH: Crowder's response to GARBAGE 'Santa Inc' Trailer

The left's assault on Christmas this holiday season continues with an HBO MAX series called Santa Inc.

The series stars Seth Rogan — the old white misogynist Santa Clause — and Sarah Silverman — the female elf on a mission to succeed Santa, and become the first female Santa Clause. The show has received a whopping 1.1 out of 10 stars on IMBD. The low rating comes as no surprise after listening to what Steven Crowder and the “Louder with Crowder” crew had to say about the show.

In this clip, Crowder played the trailer for Santa Inc. The trailer lived up to the MA rating for mature audiences and is filled with adult language, discrimination against women, and racism. Watch the clip to hear Crowder explain why, in his opinion, the show is not well received. Can't watch? Download the podcast here.
