Biden needs first lady's help with question about Gaza hospitals, then State Department steps in to say what he won't

President Joe Biden implicitly criticized Israel from the Oval Office on Monday — with an assist from first lady Jill Biden — only for the State Department to speak definitively about Hamas' use of Gaza hospitals for operational command posts.

After a signing event in the presidential office, NBC News correspondent Kelly O'Donnell asked Biden about the intensifying ground war in Gaza and the focus on hospitals. Israel's critics accuse the IDF of striking hospitals, but Israel says Hamas uses them for military purposes, which top U.S. officials have confirmed.

"Have you urged Israel to take any specific action on the hospitals in Gaza?" O'Donnell asked Biden.

Biden, however, did not immediately answer the question. Instead, he appeared confused and looked around the room until Jill reminded him of O'Donnell's question.

"The hospital in Gaza, Kelly was asking," the first lady told the president, prompting O'Donnell to restate her inquiry.

"The hospitals in Gaza — have you expressed any specific concerns to Israel on that, sir?" the reporter asked.

In response, Biden suggested that Israel is attacking the hospitals, stating that he hopes Israel begins to take "less intrusive action" — whatever that means.

"Well, you know I have not been reluctant in expressing my concerns what's going on. And it is my hope and expectation that there will be less intrusive action relative to the hospital," he said.

State Department spokesman Matthew Miller also addressed the hospital situation on Monday, speaking with truth and clarity.

After noting that hospitals "should be protected" because they are civilian infrastructure, Miller acknowledged the truth about the situation on the ground in Gaza: Hamas hides behind and under civilian infrastructure.

"Hospitals are legitimate civilian infrastructure; they should be protected. At the same time, I would say Hamas continues to use hospitals as locations for its command posts," Miller said.

"We don't want to see civilians caught in the crossfire. We would love to see Hamas vacate the hospitals that it's using as command posts immediately. We would love to see all the people that are calling for Israel to take steps to protect hospitals call for Hamas to vacate the hospitals and stop using civilians as human shields. We would love to see Hamas take some of the fuel reserves it's sitting on and use that to supply hospitals in northern Gaza. We would love to see Hamas have taken the fuel that Israel offered it yesterday – that [Hamas] declined – for use at Al-Shifa Hospital," Miller mic-dropped.

State Department warns what could happen to $100 million in taxpayer dollars that Biden is sending to Gaza, West Bank

The State Department admitted Thursday that humanitarian aid sent to Gaza could easily end up in Hamas' control.

At the department's press briefing, spokesman Matthew Miller revealed that Israel is warning about sending money directly into Gaza to benefit innocent civilians because Hamas controls everything in the Gaza Strip.

"The concern the Israeli government has — and they've said this publicly and they’ve certainly said it privately to us — is that any assistance that goes in will be diverted once it's inside Gaza," Miller revealed.

"There's not an Israeli military force in Gaza, there’s not a U.N. peacekeeping force in Gaza. The people with guns inside Gaza are Hamas," he explained. "And so Hamas may try to divert this assistance and keep it from getting to the civilians who it is intended for."

Because Hamas controls Gaza, the U.S. government has a "legitimate concern" that any aid sent to Gaza will be taken by Hamas and directed toward its war effort against Israel, Miller added.

While in Israel on Wednesday, President Joe Biden announced that $100 million in taxpayer dollars will be sent to the Palestinians in the form of humanitarian relief.

Biden told Hamas not to steal the money but did not warn of any consequences aside from the money tap drying up. The Biden administration has not said how U.S. officials will prevent Hamas from stuffing its coffers with the aid. Miller only said the State Department is working on "mechanisms" for the delivery of the money but did not elaborate further.

There have already been allegations of Hamas stealing materials meant for innocent Palestinian civilians.

On Sunday, the United Nations agency responsible for supporting Palestinian refugees — the UNRWA, officially known as the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East — released a statement accusing Hamas authorities of raiding a UNRWA compound in Gaza City of fuel and critical medical supplies.

The agency later suspiciously walked back that statement. But United Nations and Israeli sources confirmed it was true.

APPALLING: Biden administration unfreezes IRANIAN funds ON 9/11

The Biden administration has yet again proved that it’s anti-America. On September 11, 2023, the 22nd anniversary of the worst terrorist attack ever on American soil, officials chose to unfreeze Iranian funds.

Coincidence?

Pat Gray thinks not.

He plays a clip of department spokesman Matt Miller attempting to “[defend] the indefensible.”

“You're telling international banks in these European countries in Asia and in the Middle East that you're fine, go ahead and do it,” one reporter said to Miller.

“I did not say that and would not say that,” Miller responded, visibly taken aback. “We are, of course, taking steps to effectuate the transfer of these funds; these are Iranian funds … to give something, that must be something that's yours, and this is not our money.”

“So his excuse has been ‘yeah well we're not giving them the money … we’re not actually taking it from our Treasury and directly depositing it in their bank,’” says Pat.

“But you’re freeing it up because we’re the ones who have been blocking it all these years,” he continues. “Now all of a sudden, it’s fine? Take your $6 billion and create more terror around the world because that’s what they’re gonna do.”

“I guarantee you Iran said, ‘Yeah, we want to do this deal, but make sure it happens on September 11’ … and the Biden administration was like, ‘Why? What’s September 11? Oh, okay sure, that’s fine,’” speculates Keith Malinak.

“They don’t care,” says Pat in disgust.
